It was a promotion by Samsung for the first 12,100 (I think) s3 and note 2 owners that registered their devices. Free flip cover + tectiles....I missed it by like 5 minutes as well lol. :thumbdown:

Got mine yesterday fri 25th
Hey just wanted to mention mine did finally come in yesterday for my S3. Pretty cool promotion honestly. I got 6 tectiles(a 5 pack plus one loose sample stuck to a postcard thing, that launched the playstore to download the official app for the textiles. I was pleasantly surprised that the sample one could be reprogrammed, and I could use "NFC Task Launcher" as opposed to the official app.

Nice! Mind sharing what state? Im in california and still haven't gotten it. Hopefully it comes sometime soon.

I got mine in today, in a nice shiny padded reflective envelope. I wanted the blue flip cover but they were out and got the orange instead.

Still waiting on mine as well. I don't mind though because it was completely free :laugh:

Three UK deal

Hey guys,
Since I already posted this in another thread, I thought I would post a new topic just in case anyone misses it.
I've got a friend working in Three who is able to get yourself the S4 at £35 a month but can also give you a £30 credit and some extra minutes too :good:

Just out of curiosity, has anyone bought the phone from Three yet? How was your experience?

After a few PM's with several other members I thought I'd post how this works...
I simply forward your phone number and name to someone who works in Three's direct sales department based in Glasgow. They'll contact you at a specified time and discuss the phone, the plan and the offer with you. It is up to you whether you want to place your order right there and then or place the order at another time. The order must be placed over the phone however in order to qualify for the deal as this is the only way they can add the credit and minutes to the account.

Not personally no, but I've heard from others that it works pretty well

Just a heads up guys, from 26th April onwards, there will be a £49 upfront cost for the phone if you buy it online or phone into inbound sales.
Of course I can get this waived for you even after this date :good: Also, this is a new contract and not an upgrade to your existing contract for those that are interested.

You wouldn't get the extra minutes and TCB may take a while to track. The credit can be applied immediately to the account by ordering directly from Three via myself. An additional £30 credit can also be added to a friend or family Three account if you have their phone number too.

I'm always suspicious of posts like this - how do we know that the 'friend' who works for Three isn't the OP.

Where are you? If you desperately want it just install the .apk, it takes about 10 seconds to do.

Google for "latest playstore apk" Hand install it manual.

Im on ICS.. go figure..this doesnt really upset me due to the fact that im getting a new phone ( Droid DNA ) Wednesday!

I don't think it's worth it. The old one looks way more organised and simple. I won't even bother installing the new Store's .apk

You have to go to services and clean the cache on the market processes. I had to do that with my droid x a long time ago.

Sometimes it just takes a while. On my phone once, I cleared it and force stopped it several times and it didn't update until a couple hours later.

Am i the only one who thinks that 3.xx.xx looks better ?

I believe the new one looks hideous, the old one is way better. But of course, we will get used to it in the future (do we have any other choice?).
Anyway, to answer the thread, it depends on the country you are in. Usually, they update per country (if it is available to you).

I went to the store today to get a new phone but their computers are down. Anyone else have this going on today?

It's down here in Arizona as well. They took my info and are holding one for me...very irritating. Horrible launch by AT&T standards.

same here i went to the att store in glendale ca and they said all systems are down so i called a few more stores and they also confirmed systems are down so i went to order online and it too is down o'well i guess i stick with my ip5.

Down is So Cal as well..
I returned a HTC One for the S4 and they did it manually for me..

No kidding, I planned my day around this as I live 45 minutes away from my closest store. Figured I'd pick up the phone have lunch and watch a movie....this was starting at 10am.
I know it's a computer thing not a local employee's fault, but I will be asking for a free accessory or a discount as this whole launch was a horribly executed from start to finish.

I am willing to bet AT&T's response would be "soon". That seems to be their response on all issues these days. Well, honestly I didn't answer your question but AT&T is really starting to pi*s me off at this point. And maybe it's a bit of the conspiracy theorists coming out of me, but I find it odd that AT&T suffers such a large computer failure on the day of a launch that they have pretty much screwed up all of the way to this point. Something just doesn't smell right here.

well the AT&T chat rep didn't know what I was talking about, so I gave her the link to this thread. She read it and found it interesting and sent it up but asked me to call the customer svc number which I didn't bother calling. (after hrs anyway).

I hung around all day, went out for lunch, went to a movie, went shopping, had dinner, but by 6:45pm their systems were still down. Keep in mind I had a10am store appointment. How could this launch be any worse?!?!

same thing happened to me in socal. no upgrades available because of some system-wide error. so pissed. i hope it is ready tomorrow...

I went in around 12, and they told me the systems were down. Went to Target, and they said the phone was ready to buy, so I agreed. The man came after 15 minutes and said the systems were down. After calling all day, they said hopefully by the morning they would have it ready. I asked them why the system was down, and they said it had to do with the East Coast launch, and mentioned that it, "messed the systems up." AT&T really needs to get their **** together.

Well, it couldn't have been anything too high up the chain. I manage an at&t authorized retailer and we experienced no issues whatsoever at any of our 10 stores. If the switch was backed up, that would have affected all channels' activations. You guys should check out your local dealers if they're still having issues tomorrow.

Nexus 5 Sprint users!!!

So I have been told that in order for our phones to be able to connect to the new spark network we need to have a build number of KOT49Y and that it should have been an update that was released a month ago. Does anyone have that build number? mine is KOT49H. Can anyone make sense of what sprint just told me?

To get technical Spark we will need to wait for an update, still. However we can at least connect to the other two bands one at a time so if the network is overloaded on band 25 like usual, you may see your phone connect to 26 or 41. Try playing with band priorities as well as enabling them. Also use the .15 or .17 radio. I use .15 and got band 26 last Friday. I made a thread in N5 General if you wanna look.

Well it sounds like it has been released already.That build number is for the Spark update. I know for sure i dont have that build. I was curious if anyone else might have it.

The latest build is KOT49H. There is no KOT49Y.

Spark update is not out yet but I think you are confused as to how it works. Spark will merely prioritize bands for you, not connect multiple bands at once.

I was thinking it aggregated the bands together and that's how it gets its speed.

Well I was just repeating what the rep said. I know not to trust what they say but it seemed that he actually knew what he was talking about and when he gave me a diff build number that I didn't have I was like, Yes!!! finally someone knows what they are talking about, I guess it was another bust...

He probably did, but used Google real quick.

OK just got off with sprint. KOT59Y started being pushed by google 2 weeks ago to certain Nexus 5's.

Doubtful as that build number would be from December 2013. The build numbers going around now rumored to be the next release are from last month.

i agree, sounds like some miscommunication at sprint plus i highly doubt google would create and release an update and just send it to sprint costumers.. if thats even possible for them to do. This latest 4.4.3 update coming out soon is probably what they are talking about.. perhaps in sprints environment that were calling it KOT59Y and google is rolling that all up into one single release for all n5's hence the long delay, that radio needs to function correctly across all providers and supported bands. Like i said i highly doubt google would do this to such a small % of n5 owners.
Nevertheless thanks for sharing, got me excited for a minute lol
