Price is expensive but confirmed via Twitter that NFC is working (and so far highest capacity other than upcoming ZeroLemon, which will be far thicker).
MUGEN has always lived up to their capacity/NFC claims in my personal experience.

Based on the current photo they have up I think it's safe to safe it's definitely not thicker than Anker, Hyperion, and Onite 5200mah batteries that are out now. Definitely will be slimmer than the upcoming ZeroLemon.
Whew. That's a scary price though.

Check this video - it shows the size pretty well.
Wtf $89?? Why?
For that price you can buy 3 7200 Mah batteries!

thanks for calling me an idiot :good: you should be more careful throwing words like this around because it's just one version of the truth. I've heard somewhere a very good opinion on this, I think it was someone on CNET TV - extended batteries came up as a topic and the guy said that there are many brands out there and each one of them serves it's purpose and has it's buyer. I agree with him on this, because I've tried ZL and Mugen on Note 2, Anker and Mugen on S4 and from my experience I can say that ZL claims ridiculous mAh numbers on their batteries per thickness (simply no technology to put so much in that box) and their batteries have average life-span (my 9300mAh died in 5 months), Anker and Hyperion create short life span batteries (my Anker died in less than 3 months) using, probably, expired batteries that cost nothing, and Mugen sells super-expensive batteries that last for 2 years and are closer than others when claiming mAh. Mine for Note 2 lasted for a year without significantly degrading till I sold it with the phone.
Imho, you can select the battery based on the type of user you are. If you don't need long lasting batteries and you don't care about design (ZL stuff is uber-ugly), you can buy 3 Anker batteries or one Zl, if you need something more thorough, you can go with Mugen. It's great that we have so many choices.

Lol sorry that definitely came across harsh, i was in a mood last night I guess . I'm also one of the "idiots" that bought a Mugen battery before. It was a couple of years ago for my GNex, but I don't remember having as many reliable options back then as we do now.
Regardless, it is just silly at this point to buy from Mugen. They are way, way, way overpriced. They're so much more expensive then everyone else because they actually make their own batteries, while other companies source out their manufacturing. It might seem like an advantage but it really isn't. Anker, ZeroLemon, Hyperion, even Onite batteries have all been tested tons of times by people to show the mah they claim on their batteries is accurate. Even if a problem happens, they all have 12-18 month return policies. I've only ever bought from Anker & ZeroLemon but I know they both have great records of replacing batteries if there is a problem. If your ZeroLemon or Anker batteries really died in the respective 5 &3 month time periods you claim they did, contact the companies! They will definitely fix your problem.
Altogether, for my S4 & my Note 2, I have 4 Anker batteries & 2 ZeroLemon batteries. Never had a problem except for the ZeroLemon I purchased for the S4 which wouldn't charge & ZeroLemon sent me an overnight battery as soon as they received mine back.
There's nothing ridiculous about ZeroLemon's battery claims. I've had the 9300mah Note 2 battery since May & never had a problem. @vectron is the best accessory reviewer I've ever seen on a tech forum, here's a link to his ZL N2 battery review: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2243462 He tested the battery using an external battery monitoring setup to verify its claimed capacity. You can also see in the second post his results from Nova battery tester. I don't know how familiar you are with the program, but as he mentions while it doesn't provide the most accurate mah because it's basically a battery rundown test, all you have to do is compare the results to a stock battery. So results from the ZL relative to stock is that it lasted 3x as long, which is exactly what they claim. The stock battery is 3100mah, the ZL is 9300mah.
As you can see here, I took the wrapping off my N2 ZL to show it just 3 stock-size batteries wired together:

There's no special technology to what ZL does, they just cleverly make use of more space then the competition. While everyone else has simply made double-capacity batteries that were 2 stock-size batteries stocked on top of each other, ZL utilized more of the back of the phone. As you can easily see in the pictures, the Note 2 battery is one stock battery to fit in the cavity, then 2 stock batteries turned horizontally & spread even across the back from the camera to the speaker. To me, it's a way better method then everybody else. It is the same thickness as any other extended battery with 3x the original capacity compared to 2x. Plus it keeps the back flat as opposed to all of the pregnant-looking back covers for other batteries.
I also have the rugged case ZL made for the S4. It is really great quality for $20. I own three Otterbox defender cases & the ZL is basically a rip-off in design. Regardless, its still fits perfect & really offers even more protection than the defender.
As a disclaimer, I personally had a bad experience with my Mugen battery for the GNex so I won't lie & say I'm not biased about that. The battery itself was fine, but the back cover was a real piece of sh!t. The clips broke off easily as did the flimsy kickstand. To be fair, all of the back covers including stock were crappy for the GNex, Samsung has really improved on that front since then. From what I see though, the kickstands haven't changed in designed so I assume they're as flimsy as ever.
Of course, I'm sure Mugen has just as good a return policy as other companies. The only true advantage Mugen has is that they ship internationally when mostly everybody else doesn't. I want to specifically acknowledge how important that is. A lot of the world can really only go to Mugen and good for them that they offer international shipping.
If you're in a country where aftermarket battery companies other than Mugen ship their products, I believe you're absolutely wasting your money if you buy a Mugen. They are astronomically more expensive than the rest of the competition. There's at least four other companies that have been very well tested & reviewed to be reliable & honest businesses with quality products. Even if you are worried that they source out their manufacturing, they offer long return policies that many people have had a good experience with.
EDIT: As another disclaimer, ZeroLemon has had their problems too. Not with quality or return policy, but with being upfront with their customers. They only recently came out with the rugged cases for their batteries, even though they've been saying they would come out months ago. While they did admit they had to do a full redesign, there's no real excuse for the time it took them to come out with the cases. Multiple people contacted them & got a multitude of different responses back. The Note 2 case JUST came out, here I personally have an email saying it would come out in June:
Just want to give you guys a heads up from most batteries i have tested Mugen has one of the best qualities. Hyperion comes pretty dam close followed by Seidio then Anker. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1843896 from my Galaxy s3 testings. Currently doing tests on batteries for the s4. Also note I retested batteries months after heavy usage and the Mugen, Hyperion, Seidio, Anker seemed to hold charges pretty dam well even after several months of use. Worst battery holding a charge after a long period of use seemed to be the Zero Lemon. Ill post my testings of all batteries for the S4 on a new thread here.
Some says "You have to be an idiot to buy a mugen battery" and then someone gets butt hurt. Lol. The truth is their not worth it. I've had a few of the $80 seidio batteries for some htc phones. Yes they're great batteries bht over priced. Back when no one made a battery for the originals htc evo it was the only choice. Do I regret it? No! I was very pleased with it. Here we are years later with many choices. I've had zero lemons and hyperions for the galaxy s3 and they're both going strong. Bought 2 ext batteries for less than the price of one seidio and the zl was the most mah available for an s3. Now I have the an s4 since launch. Bought 2 zl batteries and battery charger for $21. Haven't had a single problem with any of them.

All good points, man, all good points. Lots of brands, in the end you go with who you trust the most. I cannot go with ZL now, cuz with international shipping it costs more than Mugen for me. Btw, what's the RMA process when I buy from Amazon? I've just bought a couple of books from there, but in case I need a gadget replacement, how do I go about it?

Would love to hear more about this. If I'm not mistaken, ZL just takes and wires their batteries together, and they're likely meh-quality to begin with to keep cost down. I believe Seidio and Mugen actually create one solid state battery and have higher quality cells. I THINK. Please let us know if this is correct. I've tried those $9 batt's off ebay from China and they really are garbage; I hope ZL didn't just take three $8 normal batt's and just wire them together. That product won't stand the test of time, which I think is what you figured out in your post.
I think Mugen's value is there if the battery stands the test of time.

i just ordered 2 of these. i like the idea plus they are solar and charge all my gadgets on top of my phone. and shipping from china is 22 for dhl but they are worth it and are the size or smaller than our phone! holds almost twice the charge with multiple voltages including 3.7v which is ours.
Total was around $52 after shipping but just sell one or keep the other for twice as much! ill repost this link in thread.

Too expensive and UGLY
Wow, out if my budget.
I could buy 3 external batteries including shipping, for that.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
look at the back cover on that thing and then the shape of the batter! what a waste of space!
I am sorry but I get plenty of juice out of my battery, i dont know what i would do with a battery twice the size let alone three times the size of my current one... that **** would last all week without needing a recharge!
honestly for the same price, little bigger and more juice i could just lug around a mini nuclear reactor... where is tony stark when you need him? im trying to hook my phone up with that mini arc reactor bro!
Yeah, that is way too bulky for the size. If they wanted to extend the back of it, why wouldnt they make the battery a sort of P shape that extends further up the back so it doesnt have to bulge as much?
I MIGHT buy a battery that only makes the back case flush with the camera. I already dont like that camera hump on the back, so a battery that only needed to extend that much or a tiny bit more would be perfect. Maybe like a 2500mAh?
Thread cleanup, back on topic please.
My question here is this: Is it completely safe to use this battery?
I'm thinking perhaps in the future I might want to buy one because I deplete my battery extremely fast with constant use. The only thing I'm worried about is if it will hurt my phone in any way.

you know I was thinking this too, but I did watch some reviews on youtube on their other 4500 mah extended batteries for other android phone models. It doesn't look that bad, infact it seems to make the phones look like a tiny miniature powerhouse PCs from the future.
Right now it says their sold out and will get new stock in June, I'm definitley gonna get one. If like the reviews say that some people don't have to charge this extended battery after 3 days of heavy use then I'll be in G2x heaven. Infact, I would bet as LG was in the design proces for the phone that they were shooting for a phone that could last for 3-5 days on one battery charge, but since marketing research thinks consumers will only buy a slim form factor cell phone, they opted to cut corners on performance for cosmetics, which absolutley sucks in my opinion.

Right on, can't wait for the review. Just wanted to ask though, I saw that they were out of stock and that they'd get more in stock and if I ordered on that certain day I looked on the site, I would get it on June 3rd. I looked at the site again and it said if I ordered that day I'd get it on the 10th, now I checked again today and it said if I ordered I'd get it on the 6th. What gives with all the different ship dates?
You also said you just got the 4800 for your Atrix.
When did you order that one and how long did it take for you to recieve it?
How was it shipped out to you, UPS or USPS?
How did you purchase, with credit card or paypal?
How professional are they and quality of the product?
Does the product come with a specific charger?
And how long did your Atrix last on standard battery and how long does the Mugen battery last?
Sorry for the questions, I'm just very interested in this battery and I'm so ready to purchase, just waiting till they get it in stock, before I ordered, although I'm so anxious just to put in the order now and wait for them to ship it out to me on the proposed date a couple weeks later. But is that wise?

Check the forums for an easy to build tester. I tested a few, and stock batteries for g2 and vibrant, none of the extended ones lived up to their claims. They had more capacity, but not what they claimed, and some caused instability. Stock oem tested within 5%. Extended varied wildly, best being about 25% shy of stated. Imo, that's false advertising at best.
I still have the tester set up. Ship me a battery and I'll test it for you if you like. I'll even pay to ship it back to you, but I will post about it here if you do. Personally, I'm not wasting any more money on them for myself.

I used paypal. Had no issues

The quality of the product is awesome. At least so far. This is my second Mugen battery. I had one for the nexus one as well. worked just fine. The one for the atrix ROCKS right now. On average usage (with stock battery) I would get about 1.5 days. With the Mugen, I hit 3 days with 1 full charge under the same usage pattern
Does the product come with a specific charger?
Nope. Just the battery and the back cover.
And how long did your Atrix last on standard battery and how long does the Mugen battery last?
1.5 days vs. 3 days

The only way to test a battery is using an external load / voltmeter jig. Based on my past experience with Mugen, their 4500mAh battery will test out much lower, my bet is somewhere around 3400mAh. Just enough to make you feel like you got value for your money. Theres no way the average consumer can compare battery life using the phone itself.

Yup you're right. I do not have a voltmeter handy so I'm just relaying my observations.
So far, it's been good (I'm still talking about the Mugen Atrix battery since I haven't reeived the G2x one yet). Far better than the stock battery (not just by a couple of hours but by days) so I'm happy

I'll pay a hundred bucks to get at least 2-3 days on one charge. Anything to get rid of this miserable battery life that makes you feel anxiety when you're away from an outlet, especially if you use the G2x like I do which is on the internet constantly browsing and watching vids and playing vid games.
Although on another note, auto airplane mode does indeed make the phone somewhat viable and stops the drastic bleeding when the phone is not being used, and I also notice that under settings> accounts & sync> background data turned off also helps very much with the horrible battery drain when on standby.
Tmobile has sent me a replacement battery which I had to pay $10 shipping, so I might recieve it on the 3rd of June, I'll hold off on the Mugen 4500 mah and see how the replacement from tmobile goes and play around with the other settings I just mentioned. I just don't like the idea of switching out the batteries each time. Gonna put wear and tear on the battery cover and all, so even though I have an extra battery, I'm still considering the Mugen extended.

I know exactly what you mean! That is the reason I was willing to spend $100+ on a battery because I didn't want to bother carrying extra batteries all the time or swapping them out or worry about charging each one..
I have one, lasts me 3+ days and don't have to swap anything.
Might not be ideal for most people, might be heavy but hey... it's perfect for me
Without a doubt, there is value in having a battery that can last 2 or 3 days. I've purchased large capacity batteries from Mugen and Seidio, and happily used them.
But, for the price paid for these batteries, I also expected to get what was advertised in terms of mAh rating. It irritates me that these companies feel that they can just print whatever inflated rating they want on these batteries and there is no consequence for them.
Heres what I've determined: High quality OEM batteries I've used in the last 4 years all have been around 1500mAh, as that seems to be the sweet spot in terms of size vs capacity for a phone manufacturer. Mugen & Seidio use cheaper cells, typically 1200mAh for the same physical dimensions as the OEM cell. From there, its simple math, 2 cells equals 2400mAh (not the 3000mAh stamped on the sticker. My guess, without even looking at a picture, is that the Mugen 4500mAh battery is a 3 cell unit with a real capacity of 3600mAh.
3600mAh is not a bad setup, I'd throw $100 for it. But I'd still be irritated.
What would be really nice is the manufacturer giving us the option of buying another cell, the stock oem battery with a replacement back that had a charge balance circuit and anything else it would need to be reliable. Known good cells, just an extra one.
Hello Everybody
I am looking to buying the following battery
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-G2X-Opti...ccessories&hash=item2eb6f543db#ht_2178wt_1270
I don't want to sacrifice the sleek look of my mobile phone by buying 1350 mAh or 1450 mAh huge batteries.
Anybody bought these kind of batteries already ?
Do you find noticeable difference in run-time ?
That's the one I saw on ebay.
The thing I notice that the slim batteries that are larger in capacity than the stock batteries are more in price than the larger capacity and fatter batteries with a bigger back cover.
I wonder what is that???
I going to order next payday to try it out.
If you get it before I do. Let me know how it worked out for you.

I do not think this is going to be any better than stock battery. Better to go with the fat one. You will at least get 2000 to 2200 mAh out of those for $10.
I have had that Andida battery for a couple of months now. Never any problems with it, and I would say I probably get somewhere between 30 minutes-2 hours extra charge over the stock battery, depending on what kind of usage, obviously. It feels noticeably thicker/denser than the stock battery. It fits inside with the normal cover, but you can tell it's a tighter fit. I also charge it sometimes on the spare port of my desk dock, and it's a tighter fit there, as well. And a bit heavier.
I won't make any claims of whether it's actuallyt 1980 or not...but it's a good battery...at least mine has been good to me. Nothing "night and day" that you're gonna convert religions over, but if you're looking for a second battery anyway, it's definitely worth it.
Generally, it's seemed like people with the Andida 1980 mAh battery have gotten an extra hour or two more over the OEM.
Buy it from here instead, only $9.

Thanks for posting that obostore link...when I clicked the OP's ebay link, I was pretty sure I didn't pay anything near $29, but it's been a while and I"ve bought so many things, I couldn't remember...but it didn't feel right.
$9 from obostore sounds about right...I've bought about 6 cases and other stuff from them, so they are legit. It does take about 2-3 weeks to reach your door from the time you order, since it comes from Hong Kong.

Thank you so much for this excellent link.
I was initially hesitated to buy this battery for $30 in eBay.
I'm guessing this is fake. But why only for the Verizon model? But maybe not. But maybe in 2 years batteries gave got slimmer and more powerful?

Cheap Chinese battery claiming higher mAh in same size package.
Do not buy. I've fallen for these (not this brand) twice. You actually get far worse battery life than OEM battery.

Puzzles me!.......I just don't get it... People want to put a non-standard battery from a unknown source in a 500+ dollar device that you count on everyday to conduct business or keep in touch with family and friends.
Purchase an OEM extra battery kit and be done with it people.

Well, in all honesty, if there WAS a battery that provided more power without making the phone fatter or heavier, then that would be more convenient than carrying around a spare battery charging kit.
Some people just don't know that as of now, more battery capacity means a thicker battery. Now, a 3400mAh battery like the PolarCell battery could actually be 3400mAh without too much more thickness, but a gain of 200mAh is hardly noticeable.
My point is that unfortunately, some people just don't know better.
And for the record, the 2 batteries I bought before weren't for this phone. They were for my S2 a couple years back.

It may be possible to create a battery like that but it would sacrifice duty cycles. Or they could have developed some technology that I am unaware of but I think its fake.
it's definitely going to be a fake. no doubt about it.
a brand you can trust, for a lesser price, is Anker. they actually offer warrantee 50% longer than Samsung and more lenient about what can be sent in, too.
a couple days ago I seen them list a bundle on Amazon with 2 batteries and an external kit that has a USB on the side of it for dual charging. $32
it sounds too good to be true, I know, but Anker is an established, reputable name, that makes phone and computer replacement batteries, cables, and components, for a hundred or so devices

Agreed. I've always been really happy with any product with the ANKER name on it. When I needed a replacement battery there was no way to tell if the "OEM" samsung batteries on Amazon were really OEM or cheap knockoffs. The Ankers were sold by Anker thru Amazon and the have been really reliable.
I haven't used the Anker battery myself, but I'm pretty sure it isn't a higher capacity battery that's the same form factor as the OEM battery.

yes, they're the same capacity. if you find a battery the same size as OEM that is advertised as having anything more than 5% above OEM, you've got yourself a fake.
even then, if it's within 5%, it should be without NFC due to increased cell size. if NFC is still there, with higher capacity, it's again very likely fake
Sadly my Anker batteries for the note 4 have been crap. I bought the 2 pack, and they were just too tight a fit length wise. I had to bang on the OEM charger to get them out and they wouldn't stay in the Anker charger. They sent me two new ones and they were a touch better. I ended up having to remove the bottom plastic, scrape away the black rubbery adhesive that is fairly thick, and superglue the plastic end back on. Had to end up doing it for all four batteries. Now they fit fine. And then three of the four developed issues of bloating. They got puffy, they got oddly deformed on the flat sides. I've owned Anker batteries for years, and I still have a bunch from old phones that are rock solid. These just aren't the same quality. Maybe others have had better experiences, but with the Note 4 batteries I have been sadly disappointed. Great customer service, but that's about it for these.
I just got Anker battery for note 4 which fits perfectly quick charge 2 works very well amazon 20 $ very happy with my purchase ...my note 4 used to restart and heat up ....now with anker battery it has been rock solid

$500+ Note 4???? You are lucky to sell yours for 200. LOL
Does anyone have this battery or have had a battery from this company? I am looking for a little bit more power then stock but don't want to add bulk to my phone any info would be great thanks!
I found it on Amazon here is the link.

You can't add capacity without adding size. So 3200mah is really 2800mah like all other stock size batteries.
I'd recommend Anker or RAVPower

This is not exactly true. Capacity has been increasing every year since lithium was introduced. The real problem is that most manufacturers didn't spend as much on battery development like Samsung did. So to get more capacity in the same sized battery would be quite a feat although not impossible.

I think it's safe to say that any 3rd party sellers of S4 batteries are not sinking R&D into new battery chemistry and design. But you will see lots of false specs
i'v had a 6200mAh TQTHL on my S4(which my son inherited , and now i have two 3200mAh of the same brand on my S5 and the wife's phone..
i think this is a good battery. i bought my S5 used, so i can't say how much it fares against the original samsung battery, but i can tell you that i'v had over 4 hours screen-on-time and this is with 3G/wifi always on, maybe 30 minutes of calls, mostly web-browsing (opera browser), and some simple game a few times during the day.
what i like about this brand is that the batteries didn't fail after months of use, like some other cheap brands. the 6200mAh on his S4 is over a year old, and it still performs admirably.
if the price is right for you then i suggest you go ahead and buy one, i'm sure you won't regret it(unless you're unlucky and get a lemon, which wasn't my case). if its not better than the original then its definitely not any worse, since its half the price

You can get that battery and others on Ebay, or Amazon.
I just replaced my original battery with a Max Baer high capacity battery at 3600mAh and it's just as bad as my old original battery. It's draining just as fast. I need to purchase another battery so anyone with experience with purchasing any batteries. If you can give me some advice on which one you bought and how well it did would be great cuz I would hate to buy another one after I buy this one, so any advice would be grateful. And theven MaxBeat high capacity battery was even rated higher than at 3600mAh and the original battery was 3200mAh or close to that number. so I would have thought that this max Baer battery would have done pretty good but it's as a right now not holding up to my standards I have to charge it like twice a day. Once again any suggestions would be greatly appreciate it thank you
Never heard of MaxBaer/MaxBeat or whatever it is - is it the same physical size as the original battery? If so, there is no way it can be 3600mAh. I wouldn't touch anything other than RavPower - as far as I'm aware there are no genuine Samsung ones left and Anker has stopped making them. RavPower: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B072N5G4RB
I'm a ZeroLemon fan. Granted it makes the phone larger and people always comment on how large my phone is, though I have used phones as large as Red Bricks for work (Intermec) so it's small by comparison. I don't use the belt clip with it since I have cargo pockets.
Based on my personal experience, StalionĀ® Strength Note 4 Replacement Battery gives a great performance compared to the original for a normal (not extended battery) and sells at a very good price too. Also 4500mah Golden Battery though its performance is the same as a 3220mah Stalion but comes at a cheaper price.
I have got them from eBay.
I have tried Maxbear and powerbear, neither of which are any good in my experience. I also have two from anker and those were good but they're old now. I just this week bought an extended shenMZ 7500 mAh battery but that is not even lasting an entire day so I think it may have been sitting for a while. I think part of the problem may be that some of these batteries have been sitting in a warehouse for a long time unused. Somebody in this thread said that the RavPower batteries are still good. I also hear from another thread that the TQTHL extended 11800mah batteries are good as well. Has anybody bought a battery in the past few months that doesn't suck?
