[Q] Snapseed, where are the images? - General Questions and Answers

I'm on a verizon Galaxy S3.
How can I access through USB images I have edited and saved with snapseed? I can find them in the snapseed folder under gallery on the phone, but when I plug my phone in via USB and select MTP or PTP, there is no snapseed folder, and I can't find the photos when searching by their file name. I have no way of downloading these edited images to my pc. I'd like to be able to make prints and backup my images, and don't want to individually email them to myself. Where are the images going?
Note: I can easily find images edited through instagram, and the original .jpgs, it's the snapseed images that are missing when connected through usb and browsing on my PC.

Help find Picture directory??

Somebody know were it´s the picture´albums directory? I want transfer pictures to my phone, (Pc to Device Using wp7 root tool) but i don´t find the albums directory.
Somebody knows how do it?
Of course I don´t want upload to skydrive or email this picture, because are private.
Thank´s in advance
What do you mean the album directory? I'm not really sure what you meant but here are my methods:
Transferring photos from PC to camera roll: (can also be done the same with Saved Pictures folder so it wouldn't show as Other Pictures)
1. Sync your phone to your PC via Zune.
2. Place pictures on your PC to folder "C:\Users\[yourPCname]\Pictures\From [yourDevicename]"
3. Switch to Zune and go to the Pictures pane under collection.
4. Pull down the My Pictures arrow on the left column, until you see your device name folder.
5. Drag the whole camera roll folder to your device on bottom left.
Transferring photos from PC to new album:
1. Navigate to Pictures pane under collection in Zune.
2. On the right column, choose the album you want to sync with your phone.
3. Drag the whole folder to your device on the bottom left.
The pictures folder on the phone is one of the folders under \My Documents\Zune\Content, but just adding files there wouldn't do any good anyhow, they have to be added to the Zune database. The best way to do that is to sync your phone with the Zune PC software, just like NeuroXT said.

[Q] Unable to see photos transferred from Galaxy Nexus into Nexus 5 in Gallery

Hi, I am not sure if this is an old issue, but I tried to search in XDA and Google but could not find anyone experiencing the same issue as me.
I have used Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S3, and transferring photos between them will still allow me to view the photos in Gallery. But recently when I got the Nexus 5, I transferred some photos over from Galaxy Nexus into the exact same folder where the photos will be saved from the camera, but it does not show up in the Gallery.
I was wondering if it is because the Gallery detects that the photo is not taken from the device, and therefore will not show in the Gallery?
Appreciate your help. Thanks in advance!

No - the gallery doesn't care about that.
Which folder did you copy the pictures into? Can you browse to that folder using an explorer app? (check to make sure there is no .nomedia file in that folder). Take a picture using your camera and verify where that is getting saved - and see if it shows up in the gallery.

Thank you for the quick reply.
I copied them into "\DCIM\Camera".. I can browse to that folder using FileExpert, and confirmed that there is no .nomedia file in the folder. I have also taken a few photos and verified that they are saved in the same folder (\DCIM\Camera), and they showed up in the Gallery.
Currently, the only photos shown in the Gallery are the photos taken by the Nexus 5 and the Whatsapp photos which I received.

Okay, here is another interesting development. I connected the Nexus 5 to my laptop and opened the "\DCIM\Camera" folder, but I can only see the photos taken by the Nexus 5! But another quick check in the same folder via FileExpert can clearly see the other thousands of photos which I transferred. When I transferred a picture from my laptop to the phone via USB cable, it is reflected in the Gallery. I have no idea what is happening. Please allow me to explain how I transferred my pictures over in the first place.
I installed FolderSync and set up to sync with my Pictures folder on my NAS on my local wireless. As I am not sure how this can be the cause of the issue, I will try to copy manually later instead of using FolderSync, and let you guys know how it goes.

Check the file properties of these pictures, and compare them to the pictures you took using the N5 - there should be something different.
I haven't used FolderSync, so can't really say what's going on.
On a sidenote, instead of loading thousands of pictures onto your device, why not just use some form of cloud storage? Load into G+ and it should show in the gallery too.

I have checked the file properties, but there are not much difference in how a picture should be. But I have transferred my photos over using USB cable, and although I could not transfer more than 50 at a time (there will be an android media error on the phone), everything is finally transferred and can be viewed via the Gallery. I am still not sure on why they could not be viewed initially.
I would definitely prefer to use cloud storage. I set up a cloud storage on my NAS so that every single picture I took will be immediately uploaded to the NAS. But the telecom operators here in Singapore have reduced the free data bundle from 12GB to 2GB, so that is definitely out of the question now. Now my photos will only be uploaded to the NAS when it is connected to the home wireless network.
Thanks jj14 for your help. Really appreciate it.
Put your photos in a different folder
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
Glad it worked when you copied with the USB cable. I wonder what caused the FolderSync method to not work - maybe contact the developer to see if they have any suggestions.
No foldersync issues with photos here, though I only sync TO my NAS not from
Someone else created a thread where they had issues with photos transferred over wifi. See if same issue exists using file explorer over wifi

Google photos backup from USB OTG

Is it possible to get google photos to backup photos from a USB OTG folder without having to copy the pictures on the phone?
I did some searching and saw some suggestions for FolderSync. The problem with the app is that I can't browse to the USB OTG folder.
Thank you
If Pixel recognizes the USB OTG as a folder to upload photos. Pixel asks your permission to upload photos from when it sees a new folder with photos.
That's my issue.
The Pixel doesn't recognize the USB OTG as a folder to upload photos. I Tried putting photos in the USB drive's root and in subfolders, as well as telling android to use it for Transfering file or photos, but I never get the notification for automatic uploads, and google photos "Device folders" section doesn't show me the USB OTG.
Due to that, I am wondering if there is some way to get it to recognize that folder as a photos folder.
Have you found any answer or workaround?

What kind of automatic uploads are you trying? Folder sync? Anything with Tasker?
I too am having this issue. I can open the photo on the USB drive in Google Photos and view it, but it won't allow me to backup the USB drive directly. It appears the only way to backup using Google Photos is to copy the photos to the internal storage and let Photos back them up. The issue I have with this is I am using an original Pixel and it doesn't have a let of internal storage, so I have to do it in many manual steps, copying, letting Photos backup the images, and then deleting backed up images from internal storage, then repeating for the next batch of photos that will fit in internal storage. It is kind of painful if you have a lot of photos to backup.
Greetings All,
I would like to find a way to more easily use my Original Pixel to back up my photos when they come in large batches. For example, I go on a trip and come back with 256 GB of photos that I would like to back up. I can copy them in 16 GB bunches, and then use the option in Google Photos to "Free up space", and do that over and over again, but it is a bit tedious. I would like to automate this a bit better. It would help if I could get Google Photos to automatically delete the photo after it uploaded it to the cloud. This feature is available in Android S (12) in Google Files, but not available in Android 10. I haven't been able to find an Android 12 ROM yet, and nothing after Android 10 is officially supported for the Pixel 1. This feature would allow me to automate this backup I think, but getting the automatic deletion still illudes me. Ideas would be appreciated.
Trying to do the same here and looking for a way to mount usb storage as internal. Anyone done this successfully?

Samsung S9 DCIM/Camera folder shows as empty on PC

On my Samsung S9 I'm no longer able to download images from the Camera folder over USB on Windows, which I had been doing fairly regularly.
My phone is unlocked
The USB setting is set to 'Transferring files'
I can see and copy all files and folders in the DCIM folder *except* DCIM/Camera
When opening DCIM/Camera, Windows scans the folder for about a minute and then says "This folder is empty"
What I've tried, without results:
Two different USB cables
Two different laptops
Articles on the web about this problem say the data of the Media Storage app should be cleared, but there is no such app on my S9, or at least not visible. I thought about clearing the data of the Gallery app, but I don't want to lose my favorites.
Any ideas how to solve this problem?
