[Q] [HELP] Soft bricked HTC Inspire - HTC Inspire 4G

My Inspire has bootloader unlocked via htcdev and i tried to install a custom rom and it bricked. It has s-on and it isn't rooted. It can go to htc white screen and cwm recovery. i've tried a ton of things to unbrick none of which worked. My best guess to unbrick it is that i need the PD98DIMG.zip, PD98DIMG.nbh, PD98IMG.zip, and PD98IMG.nbh. If any knows where to get these or other tips to possibly unbrick my phone, please tell me. Thanks in advance.

No, just download a custom ROM. If you want a stock-ish one try Android Revolution HD.

[Q] What is Kernel Source from htcdev?

I might sound like a noob but I need help. After flashing ICS rom, my wifi doesn't work. I researched and found this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1469428
But I don't understand where i can get the boot.img for HTC sensation. Please help me. I flash a boot.img for sensation(At least it said for HTC sensation) and now my phone stuck at boot.
I've download a kernel source from HTCdev but don't know what to do with it. Please help me.

I can't even boot my phone. To wipe, i need to root it and to root, i need to be in the normal homescreen status? I download a ICS RUU for sensation. Can you tell me what i do next?

Stuck on boot screen/HTC logo

As the title says. I received an HTC Desire S, which is stuck on the htc screen, from my friend. It won't boot and it seems like a brick.
I can although enter the bootloader with power button + volume down.
These are the following information:
SAGA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT -0.98.0002
RADIO - 3805.06.02.03_M
eMMC - boot

I tried flashing a RUU, but that didn't work. I think the major problem is with the S being ON. Is there any way I can boot this device at all? It's kinda of a shame since it's basically in a good as new condition...
Thanks for all the help in advance!
What happened when you tried ruu? Error?
Device should still be covered by original warranty

The installation gets stuck at "Rebooting into bootloader".
I don't know about the warranty, but I'll tell him to return it if all else fails.
Are you sure that the necessary drivers are installed on the PC?
does the ruu give any errors? Or is that what you said above
If you enter the boot loader can you perform a full data reset? Any errors?

Boot into bootloader, switch to fastboot mode (select FASTBOOT with volume keys and press Power), connect USB, see that you have correct drivers and the phone is recognized, run the RUU. It'll work.
Hi SlashSpeed,
propably you got the same problem like me. No solution for me so far:

What error returns on flashing the RUU?
Hi
Try S-OFFing your phone from revolutionary.io and flash one of the pre-rooted roms

This is not possible without adb or recovery?!
So here's my findings so far.
I tried running RUU from fastboot mode. No errors, installation gets stuck at "Rebooting into bootloader". I waited for over 2 hours and nothing happened. My PC recognizes the bootloader as "Android Bootloader interface" and fastboot as "My htc" in device manager.
I also tried running PG88IMG.zip with no luck. It gets stuck at [2] BOOTLOADER - Updating and nothing happens, even after hours.
The only think I have left for now, is the goldcard method it seems. I'll try it with my HTC G1 and report back.
Edit: Actually, I have no idea how to perform the goldcard method...some help would be much appreciated.
As he hasn't unlocked the device he should still be covered over the original warranty

Actually, I asked him about that a couple of days ago and apparently, the device is not in warranty anymore. So unless I can fix it somehow, it's dead for good..
You need to unlock the device and S-off it before flashing a Custom Rom.
First follow this thread:
[GUIDE] How to S-OFF your 1.47.x ROM with Revolutionary
Then follow this thread:
[Info] After Revolutionary: install Clockworkmod, root & more
Or install 4ext and install 4Ext Recovery with the install button.
After your done, flash your desired rom. I would recommend Endymion Rom
If you want a stock rom let me know.
Hope this helped you, if not report back.

Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img

I read through the first link you sent me and I need to have the device turned on with USB Debug on. I can't do that, since it's stuck on the HTC screen. I can only access the bootloader and fastboot.

Wait, do I need to do those steps that are quoted or just with the windows batch script?
I have to do the quoted steps a-g with my HTC Dream, so I presume I'll have to use that device for the adb as well?
Sorry for this sort of questions, I have never done these things before.

[Q] How to root Desire S HBoot 2.00.002 ??

Hello,
i have HTC Desire S with HBOOT 2.00.002
is there any way to root without downgrading to HBOOT 0.98.0002 ??
There is, HTC dev unlock,
with HTC dev unlock you will need to flash the boot.img separately every time you flash a ROM...
So choice is yours...

HTC Desire S is NOT available at HTC Dev for unlock
That's because you can't read the multiple guides on this forum that say otherwise.
Try actually doing it before commenting.

Are you talking about HTC dev unlocker procss or Super One CLick??
1.I would suggest you first unlock the bootloader via HTC dev site(simple enough process)
2.Flash superuser via recovery
3.Install any rom you want through recovery flashing
4.Remember to flash boot manually after this process using the fastboot commands(Please search these forums for more info)
There and now you should be rooted and happy with a new custom rom
Please make sure you get everything right before doing something, so read all the posts in the site for the info needed.

Make sure your ROM zip is not corrupt, or even better, try flashing a stock-ish ROM like Android Revolution HD and then its boot.img.

[Q] [HELP] My phone stucks at htc screen

As the threat's title, my phone stuck at htc screen.
I've just received htc sensation XE from my brother. This phone isn't S-off-ed yet, and I've just unlock bootloader and then flash MiUI v5 ROM without backing up (I wish I had) and now It won't boot up.
And my question is how to reflash stock ROM for my phone (4.0.3) and if I can't reflash Stock ROM, what should I do to unbrick myphone?
Please help, because this is very important to me
P/s: sorry if this question was asked by somebody else

What recovery do you have? If you have 4ext recovery you have to enable smartflash before flashing if you have clockworkmod you need to flash boot.img from pc manually because you are s-on and wipe everything except sd card
