The Official update page. If someone receives us tell us so we can all enjoy actually using our SD cards
I still haven't
Fun Fact: My phone was rooted but I wanted this update so I factory reset it and now it is not rooted - alternative to using ODIN So you can receive the update!
I check for updates daily and so far nothing.

You guys will be refreshing for a long while. I would not expect ATT to release this for a month or two if not longer unless Samsung releases it via Kies. Plus I would wait until we confirm root and Loki works on it or you will regret you ever updated.
Plus from what I read the move to SD card is a joke it moves app but not data. Example the app for a game can be 15mb but the data it downloads can be 2gb in size. Well the 15mb would move but not the 2gb.

Yeah I was looking at how the big games I have put their large extra files into data.
Advanced rooted users could move them microSD and then symlink to them, and don't need an update to do it...
I'm looking at Asphalt 7 and it is just one big 1.05GB file (is that typical?) so it would be pretty easy for those who have root and know their way around the terminal (or ROM toolbox apparently has a 'create shortcut' function).
ATT S3 still didnt get Premium Package...it's been out since november. So my guess is, you can stop refreshing the update, you birthday will pass before this update is release to you guys

I would normally agree with you about this, but the AMDL update was pushed pretty quick for this phone and Designgears already has his hands on a leak of the new firmware updatet. So I would say it might come out a little sooner than updates for other phones are released. But it's still hard to know exactly when.
For everyone else...
I'm not sure why people with AT&T S4s are checking for this OTA anyway? The only safe way to get it will be to let the DEVs check it and release it. With the I9505 update already being cooked into ROMs, I doubt there will be any further benefit to the AT&T release. Give it a little time and more DEVs will safely include it in future ROM updates if they choose to. It is their choice.
When AT&T does start to push this OTA, DO NOT INSTALL IT! Wait until the final release has been checked and cleared by the DEVs. Consider this a warning so if you install it or do not protect yourself from it auto-installing, it is your own fault! No excuses.

In it's raw released form, it is useless, but Developers are already using portions of the update in their AT&T ROMs.
Example...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2313469
Again, I highly recommend you do not touch the AT&T version of the update (when it is released) until DEVs can rip out the safe parts and make them available to AT&T users. It's up to you if you want to take the chance or not.

You can download foldermount from the play store and have it move app data to the sdcard and remount it there. It creates the symlink automatically works very well but you have to be rooted.

This. A thousand times over. If you just go around flashing any at&t ota updates, your bootloader will undoubtedly be permanently locked, and you'll probably lose root too.
If you want to be the guinea pig everyone else learns from, then go ahead, me, I'd rather wait.

Spotify is only a couple Mb if not less. What you have to do is contact the developer of the app to include save downloads to sd if its not already available.

I caught one with 190MB application storage which is unacceptable for most.
I use MT4 and NS instead of nexus one because of that. Don't ever think app2SD helps because it won't work when the phone is in USB mass storage mode or memory card is removed.
I had about the same until I started adding some of my apps to the phone. I can't even add all my apps because of the internal storage. Can't wait for root and some Roms (CyanogenMod 7).

Man this thing is pissing me off. I can't even install half the apps I had installed on my original Vibrant.
T-mobile should give us options on installing apps as soon as we turn it on. They just throw **** we won't use on the phone and call it a day. Now what if we had no devs nor root or anything like that? Look at what we would be stuck with. In that case people would just return the phone.

Cool I rooted it and have Titanium Backup installed. Just no CWM yet for ROM Manager.
I have all my appz installed with no issue... honestly 16gb onboard made the vibrant slow. im glad to have less... and I can install as many apps to my sd card as i want.
I see someone has said they have over 500mb of internal, how is that possible and why is mine not the same?
I'm on live chat with T-Mobile right now. The lady just told me...

Ok cool, let us know what's going on. I have a total of 539MB internal storage.
Specs says 1GB! I read that off phonedog I think.
"You should definitley have more memory than what you are showing. I can get you the manufacturers information. Since it is a Samsung device their support teams will definitely be able to assist you a little better than us at the moment.
_Jessica C: I know that you don't want to go back to the store, but if there is an issue with the device it may be the best bet since it is a new phone. I can also recommend taking it to a T-mobile direct dealer. They may be able to test your software. They know anything and everything about these phones.
_Jessica C: I do apologize but I am limited with my information at the time."
Since it's a new phone she doesn't have all the info, etc. At least they know there is a problem now.
I'm going to go to a t-mobile store and talk to them so I'll let you know what they say
LOL
i doubt that a t mobile rep would know anything and everything about the phone.
Ok, I just got off with a T-Mobile rep and she said the internal memory should have a total of 512MB. ...sucks! But good thing we have a 16GB sdcard.

Hi guys,
Nothing scientific about my theory, but I dont think we will see an update until after the sensation comes out. T-Mobile knows there are a great number of people annoyed with the bugs the G2x has, and some of these people might be willing to jump to the sensation.
If the G2x update came out prior to the sensation release, it might actually hurt sensation sales because G2x satification would rise.
Just a thought, could be totally wrong.

The GB update comes out in the summer, which isn't here yet (6/21).
The sensation is out before so your theory is "true" one way or another.
Wait... what?
T-Mobile already made their money for the people who bought the G2x. A lot of people who will jump ship will still be within they're return period in which case Tmo doesnt make any more money off that same person buying the sensation.
Of course there are those who will jump ship outside of their return period, selling their G2x themselves. In that case tmo does make a little extra cash but I doubt their counting on that. I dont think the update has anything to do with the pending G2x release.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Tmo's real money maker is the monthly plans. They care not about selling this device or that device or delaying this update or that update on purpose.

LOL, I have seen this play out several times on the Nexus One Forum.
1. After several days of people posting about checking and several faults alarms.
2. Someone will actually get the up-date and not know enough to do a logcat.
3. More reports and claims of faults alarms, then screen shots will start.
4. Finally someone will actually post a link to the update.zip
5. Then a bunch of Noobs jump the gun, flash update, and loose root and custom recovery.
6. After a couple of hours someone competent will create a rooted, deodext Rom that can be flashed from recovery without bloat and everyone can be happy
Patience is key

rofl. I love it.
To me, it can make sense to wait or to just release it. They obviously have a brand new phone that needs an update. That is hurting them, money wise, more then just releasing the update.
Although you may have people hold out for the Sensation. Either way you have some people who have a G2x now, looking to buy a G2x or Sensation, and some who got pissed, sold the phone, and moved to Verizon.
I always believe to fix the problem as soon as possible. The longer it goes on the deeper the cuts.
My G2x is fantastic though on CM7. So while I may benefit from the update indirectly, I'm not sitting by watching the clock for it.

The Tenth update for the Infinity is out 29/05 Version 10.6.1.14.8-20130514 4.2.1 :good: (Versions can be downloaded from the link)
Release Notes to follow
Direct Link for Download (link now live)
http://www.asus.com/Tablets_Mobile/ASUS_Transformer_Pad_Infinity_TF700T/#support
****************
To Install the download file follow bellow.
Unzip the initial file you have downloaded. It will unzip into another .zip file actually.
Now copy that zip file to a microsd card's root, and insert the card into your tablet.
You will see a notification icon in the taskbar that there is an update detected, click that notification and it will update your tablet
*****************
Alternative Firmware update Method
1. Decompress downloaded .zip file (it will be another .zip)
2. Rename it to EP201_768_SDUPDATE.zip
3. Format FAT32 the MicroSD card that you will be using for the update process
4. Copy the file to (the root directory of) your MicroSD
5. Insert it into the tablet
6. Shutdown (power off) the tablet
7. Power it on by pressing and holding VOLUME DOWN and POWER buttons simultaneously
8. When you see white text in the top left corner of the screen, release the buttons ^^ and press VOLUME UP button until you see Android logo and process bar
9. Wait patiently for 10 minutes or so
10. Enjoy!
Also remember that you will probably need to use RootKeeper to regain root privileges and reinstall BusyBox too (firmware update changes the /system partition).
Thankyou to d14b0ll0s
******************
It's not even available in the US yet and they got an update out to fix some bugs. I think this is going to be the beginning of a beautiful friendship, Asus.
Exaclty what talked about in my thread. Hardware not changing, firmware updating. This is why the whole "should I wait" question is moot. All we will see for the Infinity is firmware updates. If you wait, well, just wait forever and never take the plunge. At some point you have to dive in!

I still believe it is for the Taiwanese version only for now (see "TW only" etc.) and we will probably have to wait a (working) day or two for the US & WW versions of this. But I am in no way a specialist in this field.

That seems like a reasonable conclusion...I'm not sure what's going on, I haven't really looked into it since I don't have the device quite yet.
I am thankful that ASUS is on top of this device, so to speak, and are actively hunting bugs, and I would like to stress that's a commendable thing and I do not want to downplay its significance. However, what I'd like to see instead of camera and several other minor fixes, is improvements in the I/O output and a reasonably recent kernel (mainline 3.xx instead of 2.6.xx). That should really make the TF700 take off like a rocket, and lessen the Wait/Hang errors and lockups this device is plagued with at the moment. Oh, the sweet day.......

Yeah, it seems like the I/O output is the really only big issue with this thing. Really not a deal breaker if you can put stuff on the internal storage for the moment, but I would love to just pop in a microSD card and go. I'm sure they'll be looking for a fix for that soon. For the time being, there are ways to increase performance with rooting.

You're right in that rooting (and setting up sio as the scheduler) does alleviate some of the lags and hangups, but it is far from a definite, complete fix, I fear. It still bugs me that, sometimes, even with sio, I get kicked out of DICE Player, Act1 or vPlayer just because the darn memory card can't keep up (both SD and microSD do this on my device -- I suspect that in this case, too, the I/O is the main culprit).
I haven't tried putting it on the main storage yet -- I'm still in SGS2 mode -- i.e., conserve as much internal memory as you can. Guess I have found the upside of having had to buy the 64 GB edition, huh?
Didnt asus say they had a update planned before the US release? It seems like I read it in one of the reviews somewhere...
Is it just me wondering this, or why are they releasing a firmware update that updates Google apps?
Isn't that what the Play Store is for?

Agreed. I wish it didn't include G+ at all really. No intentions of using it.
You can however disable built-in apps!
- go to control-panel/apps

Just got an OTA update to 9.4.5.22.

Hey there,
sadly the update doesn't seem to work for me. I checked for new updates, downloaded it and tried to install but the Infinity restarted after a while saying the update failed. When I check for updates now it tells me there aren't any available.
Could this be because I rooted the TF700T before?
It's a shame it's not available on their site (http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=ASUS+Transformer+Pad+Infinity+TF700T&p=20&s=16), should be put there before OTA IMHO.
I've been using 9.4.5.22 for a few days, but from manual TW firmware update.

Me too. (Bought from Amazon.de being used in UK.)
Not updated it yet. This does stop you being rooted like the last Prime firmware update, does it?
Should I install OTA Rootkeeper first? Does it work on the Infinity?
Sweet update. I always ran 1.5gigs+ of RAM and have noticed the occasional lag spikes this phone has (especially with live wallpapers), this update brought me down to 750mb of RAM. I'm hearing you can re-root after so there really is no disadvantage to this update.

actually more ram use might mean its caching better. Android memory management is a strange thing. I used to use a task killer to "free up" more memory on my old phone but that actually made it slower.

Thank you for beating me to the punch.
In Linux, and for that matter, all modern operating systems, more RAM used is better. Unused RAM = wasted RAM.

I noticed the huge drop in RAM use as well, pretty nice.
Brings it more in line with my SGS3 on boot, so it makes a little more sense.
So far, significantly snappier.

I don't think it's as black and white as you make it sound. This is a HUGE debate and I'm currently on the side that available RAM = better performance.

I think there is a gray area where the system should cache some of our apps. But not fill the whole damn thing up! But not cache anything at all either.
There should be a middle ground and Samsung should just run some performance test and see where we get the best response times. I really don't get how they do their testing.

Let's not get too carried away - first, if this were "the best update ever," it would have included an unlocked bootloader, and since it did not, it IS not the best ever.... second, there certain is a disadvantage to updating right now, it has not been confirmed or denied that this update has in fact patched the exploit Dan "THE MAN" has created, and to quote him directly:

Is it safe to install OTA updates?
If you are interested in taking advantage of this release, it is recommended that you avoid installing OTA updates until it is published. Please be aware that refraining from installing updates may prevent you from receiving security and stability fixes for your device, and consider whether this is a risk you are willing to accept.

So it's not the best thing to tell people who aren't familiar with this stuff to update away - yes, you CAN Odin back to the original firmware that was originally released and no, it did not blow any q- or e-fuses, but it still isn't recommended by our fearless bootloader unlocker, so I for one and holding off

Then why are we waiting for the Verizon model to drop? If they've already produced millions of them, just packing them up and shipping them out, why are we waiting? Not being arrogant, just trying to ask the obvious question here
In another post task650 (an awesome developer) did the update and then reverted using odin.
Edit to add quotes from the other posts

aboot appears identical in function to original, I foresee no problem flashing this (but I do not know the details of dan's unlock). More than likely, since we know a couple variants of the bootloaderse are around, it is just bringing everyone inline to the exact same firmware.

If developers are saying they can revert back to the stock version that Dan cracked then why the utter fear?

Eh, not "doom and gloom" (I think that's the way the phrase is supposed to go), but I don't have ANY lag and I'm not as interested in upgrading, downgrading, unlocking bootloader, and then doing my thing.... just saving a step for the future since I don't NEED the update right now, honestly

Since I updated to the latest ota, this is reason alone for me to want to return the device
I have to admit. I hated this phone before the update I received late last night. It was the first galaxy out of the 4 that I've already had that I hated. The ota improved things 100 percent! The phone is now smooth and works well with 0 lag.

Everyones usage says otherwise. They probably don't want to admit there was ever a problem in the first place.
For everyone with the S4 google edition. As you know the ability of many apps to be able to write to the sd card was busted with the 4.3 update. Just got off the phone with Samsung and explained the situation and they said they have not received any other calls on this and basically nothing will be done until they receive more calls. So please let them know. their number is 1 800 726 7864 Thank you!

If like me you don't want to root no. Some apps that could save to SD card(camera JB+)developers are working on a fix but from what I read today it doesn't sound good. One program that still works is ES File Explorer to move files to SD card. But not the greatest solution. Hopefully Samsung will put out a fix if we make some noise.

Dude, just root the phone, install Busybox and use Foldermount to move apps to the sdcard
These threads are funny. Everyone *****es about Samsung's apps, framework, overlay and customizations so they release a phone that's as AOSP as possible. Then people ***** about not having access to Samsung's customizations. OP, Google's adamantly against external storage which is why Nexus devices don't have it. Be lucky the SGS4 GE supports it at all which is a customization to AOSP in itself. There are two SGS4s - pick the one that works for you. Expecting Samsung to continue to add their own features to a phone intentionally kept as "pure" as possible is a bit nuts and goes against why GE edition phones exist in the first place. The post above this one is the answer to your problem. Not spamming Samsung.

Uhhh, you're a little misinformed. We can't write to the SD card at all. Not just apps2sd is broken. I don't care about that. I can't create a folder on my SD Card with Solid Explorer without rooting my phone and modifying a system file. That's bull****. The phone is advertised on play.google.com as supporting expandable storage. They need to fix it.

You're right. I am. But you guys looking for people's help in getting the problem fixed also did a crappy job of explaining it. Let me help.
http://www.ubergizmo.com/2013/08/ga...-android-4-3-breaks-sd-card-writing-for-apps/
Since it's an identified problem that's been picked up by the media you can pretty much assume a fix is in the works. Relying on low-paid third party call center agents as a source of info ("Samsung's not aware of the problem") isn't really that wise as they are typically the last to know about both problems and their solutions.
Hope it gets fixed soon.
I called this morning to the mobile services number. They did ask me for my IMEI number he repeated the issue back to me and he understood it as a SD writing issue not apps to SD issue.
I also requested he put in to Google "4.3 issue with s4 Google edition" and they will see several post explaining the issue.
He said he would forward to technical support.
To those with a GT-I9505G please call even if you do not care about the issue.
Although ES file explorer work to move pics and video to the Ext SD card, this should be fixed for this model since it is about the only pure android OS with an SD card.

4.2.2 was great! of the apps you mentioned I only use Google Play music and have not had any force closes. The only issue for my is the ext sd card writing bug in which my camera apps, JB+ camera, Procapture and Zoom camera FX cannot save pictures to the ext SD card like they could on 4.2.2!
You people expect an answer by calling samsung? Seriously?
Let me tell you this- they don't care. They got away with your $$$ and don't give a rat's poop.
They release updates and put what they want on it when they feel like it (or a court order forces them).
That's why XDA exists so we won't have to be so reliant on samsung regarding features that we want.

They apparently listened on the low available space on the S4 and brought back apps to SD for the S4 in a fairly quick update. In the case of the S4 Google Edition, we are taking about one line of code in the platform.xml file. I do expect them to issue a fix. Why wouldn't they if it is a legitimate bug? If not, they may as well stop making the S4 GPe because nobody will buy them if this is not fixed. Many people that buy the s4 GPe want their apps to have write access the ext SD card.
The Samsung email address page is a little tricky to find here it is

This is what I wrote feel free to use all or part
I have a recently purchased Samsung s4 google edition i9505G from the Google play store. After the 4.3 android update my apps have lost the ability to write to the sd card. This has been documented in many articles on the web.
I have talked to Google and they told me a fix for this would be your responsibility.
Are you aware of this problem? Are you working on a fix? Thanks!
I'm sure this will be patched eventually but I don't think bugging them will make it any quicker lol

Did you see where Google refunded the shipping cost on the Nexus 7 sleeve because of the uproar on the outrageous shipping cost. These companies listen and respond once you let them know. At $649 a pop for this device they should fix this.
