I am trying to install Cyanogen 9.0 on my Samsung Infuse 4G.
I rooted my phone, installed the modified recovery file, used ROM Manager to flash clockworkmod recovery, used ROM Manager to flash CM9 for Infuse, and now the phone will not boot normally and trying to boot into recovery is no different (unless I'm supposed to wait like 10 minutes or something). All that happens is the phone gets stuck on the Samsung screen.
What's my next step?
please do a search. i found this post almost the same thing by looking down a few posts. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1109685 should help.

I have tried to flash the Cyanogen 6 rom for the Sprint Hero a few times and it hasn't worked. I think I may be missing something simple so maybe you guys could help. I've gotten either of the following two results after flashing: A never-ending boot loop OR it just sits on the HTC boot image and never finishes booting. I've left it for HOURS before with no results.
My setup:
*Sprint Hero
*Rooted with Androot
*Stock ROM (unfortunately)
*ClockworkMod recovery image
When I try to flash the image I have both the Cyanogen .zip and the Gapps .zip on the root of the SD and use the ClockworkMod recovery to "install from .zip" first the Cyanogen .zip and then the Gapps. Do I need a new kernel as well? Any other suggestions?
I am having the same problem with my Hero. I downloaded the Vanilla CM6 build from another thread on this forum (can't post external link to it, don't know how to post internal link yet) and installed using Clockworkmod. It appears to install successfully, but then I just get stuck with the Cyanogen boot screen looping. The animation plays for several seconds (sometimes hitching slightly as if background processing is happening), then eventually freezes for a couple of seconds, then starts over. This happens indefinitely.
Are additional steps required beyond simply installing the ROM via Clockworkmod?
Nevermind. I had not chosen to wipe when installing Cyanogen from within ROM Manager. I did that this time and now it is booting successfully.
So I flashed Paranoid-Android Jellybean and it just screwed up my phone. I had to use Odin to bring it back to stock. Now I've got it almost back to where I want it but I can't for the life of me get CWM recovery onto my phone. Its got super user on it and I can go into the CWM app and tell it to flash CWM and it says it was successful but upon booting into recovery I'm getting the Android 3e recovery with signature verification. I've tried to replace the recovery file with the modified one but if I reboot my phone it just hangs at the Samsung screen. I tried to install SGS kernel flasher as well but its failing to download/install it. Hopefully someone can point out what I'm doing wrong because I don't remember ever having this much trouble.
You can use this to get your recovery back -thanks and credit to qkster and Entropy512

Questions, let me know and I'll try to help.
Alright, downloaded and used that program. It went through and flashed perfectly fine and was easy to use; only issue is my recovery didn't work any better. I was able to boot into recovery but when I did it was just a scrambled mess of colors. I then used Odin to flash back and now I'm back at the Android 3e recovery again. I've tried to replace the recovery file and boot into recovery but it just hangs at the Samsung logo and if I replace the update.zip it won't flash because its not signed correctly. I've also tried to flash via Rom Manager and it says it went through and was successful and has my "latest version" set as the version I just flashed.
I'm lost as to what I'm doing wrong.
Ok- it may be a process but I am willing to help you figure this out. Once you learn, as long as you are going to be flashing roms, it will come in handy in the future. Couple of questions:
Have you used Heimdall before?
Did you also flash the kernel (Entropy's Daily Driver) in post 2?
Ok didn't even notice there was a way of installing the kernel that way. Did it and now I have a working recovery!!! Thank you so much. I've bricked my phone before but odin fixed it no problem. I'll keep this in mind next time. Saved me a lot of time.
Glad to hear this - nice work.
I'm really scared because my Samsung Stratosphere is stuck in a boot loop. I had flashed the Tweak ROM and TweakStock kernel. Then, I had decided to install Full Deodexed Rooted Stock EI2 ROM. I then installed RHCP's Kernel. When I was using my phone, I decided I didn't like the second ROM as much as the first one, so I decided to flash the Tweak ROM again. I went into CWM recovery, reset/wiped my phone, and installed the ROM again the same way I had the first time. Then, when I turned it on, it would show the yellow triangle, then it would go away, and it would just be the Samsung logo. I have no clue what to do and I'm so confused because this ROM was working with no problems the first time and I followed all the instructions carefully with everything I flashed. HELP!!!!!!!!!!
When I flash merely anything, my tablet gets stuck on the Samsung boot logo (I have waited, and waited, and waited, until the battery dies). Sometimes even installing ClockWorkMod Recovery (official) will do this. But I managed to get the latest official CWM flashed. But I can't get ANY other rom to work. Even roms I have successfully flashed before.
Note: If it flashes it gets stuck at the Samsung boot logo. But I have also had it not flash sometimes too, giving me error code 7 in CWM which is an authentication/permission/certificate problem.
I am going to try right now using Odin to flash to stock, and work from there, maybe it will completely clean out any crap in the memory.
My tablet is the P3113 model.
Ok! So after flashing stock rom, then cleaning all the cache stuff, then attempting to install CM it fails with CWM Error code 7. And when I just reboot system, it gets stuck at the boot logo. Damn, I get stuck there without even flashing!!
Well, I may have figured it out..... ummm i guess *cough! cough!* I somehow changed kernels *cough! cough!* dang, my allergies! Hahaha, anyways, I flashed a kernel compatible with stock rom and cm10.1 and it has gotten past the flash of cm10.1 and seems to be booting up right now.
OK bare with me as I say all this .
I was on 4.1.2 and wanted to update to 4.3 Moar. I updated my radio and flashed the rom it would come up the first time then every time I rebooted it came to the Samsung galaxy s3 and just hangs. it was suggested that I update my recovery. So I reflashed and downloaded Goo manager and downloaded the recovery. now when I boot it still hangs on the samsung gs3 logo . Boot into recovery and the CM mascot comes up for a sec then asks for password and will not let me do anything in recovery. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
