I hope you made a backup... first try dirty flashing whatever rom you were using and see if you can save any of your data.. if not, sorry.. Flash to stock and start over, making sure you are wiping caches properly before installs..
This phone was bought to repair, but the problem is that theres nothing on screen, i cant see anything, also its a XXKB3 version so actually Im searching for firmware to put on it :/
and i think that its f*cked, cant get to data thru fastboot, cant flash anything, crap...

Have you re-downloaded the v9 kernel, there were issues with the earlier version (at least there was on this device).
You could try to download and re-flash whatever was the previous (old) kernel.

I understand but in order for me to do that I need to be able to get to the sd card. Hmmm ok i think i know how to get to the sd card. I could take it out my phone. which leaves me with one question.
how am i going to get to recovery to flash it once again. Ivbe tried to hold the volume down button and hit power. But once im at the screen that says recovery and few other things. I can never move down or up or hit power so it can function. I have no control on that screen.
You do know that this forum isn't for your device. There's probably one specifically for yours.
When you Get to that white screen called the bootloader, the volume keys should navigate through the menus and power acts as select

For getting to recovery try installing android sdk and using adb reboot recovery
From there you can put another rom in the sd card. Wipe all and install a new one, which includes a new kernel inside. (like all of them)
I was stuck at the bootloader after trying to install a corrupt radio. I could get into recovery but it only offered yes or no for the corrupt file.
I removed SD card and pulled battery and restarted, i was then was able to get into recovery and do a wipe and it then booted fine.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to root my phone for the benefits it came with. I did so successfully and had no problems until I decided I'd let my curiosity get the better of me and try flashing CM7 onto my phone. I did so, and everything seemed successful, but I got stuck in a boot loop when I turned on the phone.
I know there are solutions to this, but they all involve either CWM or ADB. Just two problems: I can't use ADB because I forgot to leave USB Debugging on, and I can't seem to get CWM to do anything (it's just a black screen).
There are solutions to all of these problems individually, I know, but each solution relies on at least one of the others to be working. I've been surfing this forum and others like it hoping that someone else would have this problem and would have a solution for me, but I've come up dry.
I used attn1's Ace Hack to root my phone, and then I used Rom Manager to install CM7. Then I hit the loop. Also, my CWM was working prior to CM7.
Does anyone know what I should do?
Thank you in advance,
JW

P.S. - I'm new to this forum and don't really know the rules perfectly, so if I did something wrong, then please just let me know what I did and what I should've done. Thank you.
But you can still get in hboot right?
It sounds like you did not choose to wipe data and cache. You always need to do this when changing roms. Best way is to enter cwm yourself and select wipe data/factory reset and wipe dalvik then flash Rom.
Pull you battery for a little bit then try and get into recovery again. If you still can't get in then you will have to reflash your recovery through bootloader.
If all else fails you can use the tool in this link to return to stock. Then re root you phone. genes tool

No, I didn't think to. To be honest, I saw Rom Manager and thought I would just be able to click on what I wanted and have it ready to play with in a few minutes. I never read what to do before the installation, which was my huge mistake.
Anyhow, I don't think I can get into HBoot. When I turn the phone on with power button and volume button, it vibrates three times, but then it goes to a black screen. I read about this problem with CWM, but the only solutions I saw involved getting into your phone - which I can't do.
So I'm wondering if CWM still works but that it just doesn't show what it's doing. If that's the case, then maybe I could still manage to fix my phone with CWM. Does anyone know if such is the case?
Thank you!

Sounds like you're holding the vol+ button. You need to be holding vol- when you press power to get to HBOOT. From there you can get into Recovery.

this is correct, but you may want to pull out your sd card first. if it still has the pd98img on there,,, its just gonna loop ya. so pull it out before trying, you can always stick it back in once you get to recovery, then select mount> sd card
GOOD LUCK!!
tried installing glorious overdose but I tried to wipe data, and it stayed there for about 10min so i pulled out the battery. i tried a second time but without wiping data (i didnt know WTH i was thinking) so it rebooted and was stuck at boot screen saying create new partition and system not avaliable (sumthing like that) so i decided to try odin so i can go back to stock firmware and it finished and now it stays at the bootscreen blinking i tried recovery im stuck.
before you odin, reinstall the phones drivers on your pc. connect the phone to the pc without the battery, hold the volume down button and the trackpad and reinsert the battery. when you odin, make sure only auto reboot is checked, and put the pit file in the pit slot and the tar file in the pda slot. if you use kies to update firmware, reinstall drivers again before updating.
You may need to check "Re-Partition" in Odin.
shouldnt need to repart, in fact it may be a bad idea. every time i odined and accidentally had repart checked, it screwed something up. most recently the stock messaging app didnt work after odin. i have since switched to go sms, but still made sure i had a clean firmware install. i would try odin without repartitioning first and see how that goes. if something is wrong, you can always odin again. the first time i tried to flash a rom i bricked because i flashed cwm through rom manager. the thread where i found the odin file said make sure only auto reboot is checked. besides, if the rom didnt flash correctly, then it didnt convert any partitions anyway.
ok i had the same problem for the first time i tried to install a custom rom, theres a way that you can fix it with out odin. follow this steps... i promise it will work.
1)boot into the red cwm voodoo lagfix recovery
2)wipe data/factory reset
3)wipe cache partion
4)after all the steps above are completed, go to apply sdcard:update.zip
the its going to take you to the regular cwm once there follow this steps...
1)install the custom you want to install, but make sure that it doesnt need special mounts and unmounts, so follow the instruction flash the rom and it should fix it
Heimdall worked perfectly when I bricked my phone.
Thank you!! ^ I was boutta cry when it was Rebooting .... Yea I guess I messed something up with odin

I tried the method above but ater reboot it stays on the T-Mobile Sidekick 4G boot screen and does nothing else. I'm hesitant and Flash Bootloader but what do you all think?
flashing bootloader in that package doesn't break it.

My advice is do whatever it takes, and besides, don't worry about breaking something that's already broken, if you know what I mean...

This is my current problem as well, except I have tried checking flash bootloader and have also tried Odin, but all to no avail. Can anyone help me? This is my situation:
I've had my sidekick for about a year now and have gone through the typical problems of a sidekick user. Then yesterday, my sidekick's alarm woke me as normal, but I was unable to turn it off because my touch screen wasn't working. So i battery pulled, restarted, and noticed that the screen stayed on the "T-Mobile Sidekick 4g SAMSUNG" start up screen and did not budge. I tried battery draining, more battery pulling, and nothing worked. So i did a lot of research on here and other websites and decided to use Odin. After initial problems of a newbie, I eventually figured it out and got it to RESET and PASS, but the subsequent reboot only caused my phone to be stuck in the same Sidekick start up screen it has been getting stuck in. Similarly, after many tries, Heimdall has done the same for me. Sorry if that was a long read (also, I hope its cool that i bumped this thread with my own problems), but is there anything else i can do? I'd really like to use my phone again..
I've been working for hours trying to figure out how to fix it, and I just don't know. The end result is always just the freezing at the t-mobile start up screen..Also, since i forgot to mention, I can only get into download mode with the volume down+trackball method because otherwise it would just go to the regular start up screen and freeze. I don't know if that means anything, but yeah.
Have you used heimdall yet? I bricked my SK4G the other day when flashing a rom and heimdall put it back to stock within 5 minutes of me bricking it.
Thank you for replying. Unfortunately yes, I did. With flash bootloader unchecked and checked. It says it disconnects after everything is done and it restarts, only to become frozen at the start screen again =/. I don't know if there is some silly detail that im missing that makes the flash rather than just restart, but all i can manage to make it do is restart.
Sigh. Guess im going phone shopping.
How did u get the phone in dl. Mode
Sent from my SGH-T839 using XDA
I had to plug the phone into my computer without the battery, hold volume and the track ball, then pop the battery in. Any other attempts would simply start it up/freeze it.
Ok did u have heimdall started first?

And what rom did u last have?
Sent from my SGH-T839 using XDA
I'm not entirely sure if I had it started first, so I'll try it that way now. And the last ROM that I had? Honestly not really sure what that means =p, but i've never flashed one and I had the most recent sidekick update installed (though it is possible that I had done a factory reset at some point to fix an error).

Just tried it. Without flashing bootloaders, it finishes and restarts to my frozen start up screen as normal. However, when i flash bootloaders, it gets to "uploading pit", but the upload fails and it reboots my phone. But this time, it reboots into download mode. A welcome change from my start up screen. Maybe there's hope.
I downloaded cm9 to my phone and I didnt think I needed to flash cm7 first so I just flashed cm9 from MIUI and it booted up and i realized i forgot to install gaps. so when i went back into recovery, the top half of recovery had a lot of green and other colors scrambled together and when i clicked reboot system it just kept going back to the messed up recivery. I tried to plug in my phone to the computer while hold both volume buttons when it was off and it kept booting into recovery. could someone help me get my phone to reboot or if not restore it or get it too work?

Hello,
I have accidently put my phone into recovery mode and i can not exit from it. Rebooting and powering off and on doesnt solve anything, it opens to recovery mode again.
I believe that it happened since i hold the power button too long and accidently pressed volume button at the same time. I have checked a lot but couldnt find how to fix. Since i havent backed up my pictures yet, i want to know that if there is a way to exit from this mode without deleting my pictures? I couldnt understand if installing from adb (ı dont know what it does) or fastboot to reboot will delete my data? In addition, i havent been able to install the latest update since my phone didnt have enough memory. Could this situation be related to that? Sorry for asking lot of questions but i am really worried since i dont have any service to have it checked up .
Plsz help
Thank you

Hello Mr. Ak,
Thank you for your reply. Thats why im worried cuz i was not doing anything in recovery. I believe it came up since i accidently hold power button too long and i might have been press volume button meanwhile. So i went there by mistake. Also is it possible that the reason that i cannot reboot is that i wasnt able to upgrade the lastest ver. due to lack of memory .
I have never done flashıng and i actually dont know what it means. I have chacked online that it says it is installing an operating system in a phone.
But the problem is ı havent changed the settings of my phone to usb (it only charges through usb)and i wish i had done that. Is there anything possible i can do now?
