DISCLAIMER: I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DAMAGE YOUR DEVICE...BE SURE TO BACKUP AS ALWAYS!
Install Instructions (i advise reading this entire post but please at least read the UPDATE sections)
1. Flash stock rom (this mod SHOULD work with any firmware...newest MF1 link below) using odin
2. Install CWM or TWRP recovery
3. Flash Deodexed zip (will need to re-root afterwards)
4. Edit your build prop by adding the line qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 at the very bottom (u may also want to change your dpi...134 is my preferred number)
5. Install xposed framework along with the TAB UI module and enable (see post #4)
6. Flash the V5 file below (u will need to manually delete the flashbarservice.apk if coming from V3) followed by forcecloseapps.zip (if neccessary)
Known Issues
1. minimized apps will randomy disappear
2. help button will force close systemui
3. navigation buttons are shifted slightly to the right in phablet (right handed users can consider this a "feature" :silly
After months of messing around i have FINALLY managed to figure out how to enable multi window on our devices...its not perfect but it works. First, in order to use this mod(as of right now anyway) u will need to be on a DEODEXED rom & need to find & flash your respective version below via recovery. After the rom reboots, go to "settings - display" and u should see "Multi window" with a check already next to it. Simply uncheck it then immediately recheck it and VOILA! u should see the multi window flashbar on the left side of your screen. Open it by touching the tab & u will notice a very limited number of apps already included and an "edit" button to add more but the problem is the list will be empty. There are 2 ways to fix this..the easiest would be to download "SAMSUNG MULTI WINDOW MANAGER" from the market and the other would be to install the XPOSED framework(my preferred way due to all the other options it provides) as well XPOSED muliti window apps manager module. Refer to post #4 for instructions on how to install & setup XPOSED...also attached are a few of my other favorite modules. Any apps that are already on the list or added with one of the mentioned methods when opened the regular way will have a restore/maximize icon(familiar for those of u who work with windows) located usually in the top right corner or bottom right corner(will provide example screenshots below). Clicking this icon will alternate u between windowed mode & full screen...i'm not quite sure if there is a limit on how many floating windows u can have simultaneously. If u prefer to just have 2 apps side by side or on top of each other(depends on orientation) then simply open then multi window bar & drag your first app to which ever position u would like(u will see the spot highlighted blue). Simply repeat for the opposite position and there u have it...working multi window mod. Of course there are a few issues but the benefits outweigh the problems in my book. First, not all apps were made with windowed mode in mind so some may not look right or function properly...with that said u MAY need to mess around with the dpi(will include the XPOSED module to do so for indiviual apps) or find replacements altogether though personally i havent had much trouble out of the 100+ i have on my phone. The minimize & dual pane resize functions do not work as of yet and this mod also will kill your mini apps bar when in tabletui but since almost any app can now be used in minimode it really doesn't matter. Let me end by asking that ANY dev/user who is willing to improve this mod by combing through the code feel free to contact me anytime...i'm a complete newb(as u can probably tell since this is my first thread) so i could use all the help i can get
UPDATE V3: Ok, so...here's a new version of the mod and although it contains no new features i did manage to fix a few things such as the lockscreen, notification icons, and dialer app(see instructions below). Since this update seems to be superior to V2 in every way, i will be removing the links and altering instructions in order to cut down on confusion. This time the mod will be PHABLET mode only(unless @chrisrotolo would be willing to modify the files for us) which means u will also lose the 4way reboot function but if u would still like to use tablet mode of course u can install XPOSED with the tabletui module(u should perform this step first which SHOULD eliminate the need to edit your build prop). For those of u who are coming from a clean install or the previous tabui4way version u MUST EDIT YOUR BUILD PROP(easiest way would probably be "build prop editor" in the play store) by adding the line "qemu.hw.mainkeys=0" at the very bottom of the file BEFORE u flash the phablet file for your device...once u have edited & saved the file simply reboot into recovery & flash the V3 zip for your device then u should be good to go. For the others who are already using phabletui or XPOSED tablet module u SHOULD only need to flash the V3 version over your current mod...once again, i will need P6200 users to test & report their results. Please note that this mod MAY NOT be compatible with the touchwiz launcher which means u might need to install an alternative homescreen app from the market( i personally use "apex launcher" and completely uninstall touchwiz home)...i also would like to mention that some users have stated that a factory reset MAY be needed. As a small additional bonus...it seems that this update also enables/fixes the lockscreen ripple effect(thanks to @loolser for pointing that out)
DIALER FIX: If u would prefer the stock dialer to work or like me have just grown frustrated that clicking missed calls causes your tablet to freeze then this is the solution. First, u MUST install XPOSED framework along with the "app settings" module(see post 4 for details)...once u have installed & enabled the module then click on the "app settings" icon and click "contacts". At the top left u should see an on/off switch(green means on)...turn it on and set DPI to 176 and Screen (dp) to 800 x 1280 and then select save. You will be asked if u would like to kill the app simply select yes and then exit the app...click on dialer which should now be working although u may need to reboot and/or clear data in both "contacts" & "phone" in "settings - application manager"
A few more notes to add just in case u didn't know...the paid version of "samsung multi window manager" allows u to create shortcuts(both apps & bookmarks) directly on your home screen and open them automatically in windowed mode(u can also specify the default size for each windowed app as well). I just recently realized that if u simply click on the app in the multi window bar instead of dragging it out that will also open the apps directly in windowed mode and make them automatically cascade too. If u don't like the placement of the bar on the left side of the screen then simply click the tab to open the flashbar then touch and hold the tab again which allows u to drag it over to the right side. Oh yeah, just because u see the shiny new allshare cast button in your notification controls after u flash V3 does NOT mean u should push it...it will most likely freeze/reboot your tab(yeah, i had to find out the hard way...lol) but if only we could get that working, hmmmm
Black Bar: The white flashbar just didn't quite look right so i took a lil time to create a black translucent multi window bar with red arrows...hopefully u guys will like it as much as i do. All u have to do is overwrite the "flashbarservice.apk" located in "system - app" with the one attached below and be sure to set the proper permissions then reboot your tab...will add a few screenshots below so let me know if u like the new look!
4wayReboot: I missed the 4way Reboot option so i've created a zip that can be flashed over the top of our current V3 mod...I need a P6210 owner to test report as usual
UPDATE V5: I've actually had this new version finished for about 2 months but have been messing around trying to fix the minimize feature with no results...since this is an improvement over V4 due to a few bug fixes, the biggest of which being the force close in phablet mode, i will be removing the links to the previous version. There are really no new multiwindow related functions except multiinstance should now work (although not with all apps) and minimize is enabled by default (apps will still disappear randomly so its not much use)...i'm sure u guys will encounter some problems that i may not have discovered so please feel free to report your findings so we can iron out any issues. I will also link to a separate zip below which includes apps that are known to force close after the mod is flashed (almost all samsung stock apps) so most of u will need to flash it as well....please note that i MAY need to create a separate version for the P6210 so please test and let me know. There are actually a few new non multiwindow related extras if u flash the new version...ink effect is now enabled, the video player will now have live video previews for the thumbnails (if u flash the forcecloseapps.zip) and the best to me i the ability to swap out & rearrange the order of the quick panel toggles in the "settings/display" menu (u will notice other extra options since the file is from the note 8 but some obviously wont work such as the spen related functions)

dude this is epic. nice job. how long did this take you?
And to comply with rules, you should at least give some info how you did this. I would also suggest setting up a donate button, just in case.
I would encourage you to share with Tab 2 guys who are documenting changes @ github, also the 7.7 guys will be interested as well, maybe they will even tweak/fine tune your code.
Looks really nice. Thanks dude.
XPOSED framework
as i promised...here goes the xposed installer along with a few modules that will help u out. The multi window apps manager(the developer doesnt want the apk reposted so i instead provided a link to the original thread) will allow u to enable any app to work in floating/dual screen mode, the "app settings" module will let u set individual dpi settings for apps, & "tweakbox" has various options such as volume button music controls & call recording! I also have a play store fix module(useful if u change your dpi) if u may be having issues & a module to enable tablet mode without flashing...if anyone is interested i will upload upon request.

Thanks a lot mate, you saved me a lot of work.
Actually I had managed by myself to get the multi windows working, with the icon in the notification bar and the option to activate it in settings.
The only problem is that it didn't display well and I needed to mod some files to get it working, and I didn't have the time to do this.
And now you come with the full mod, yesssssss!
Thanks again, I download everything and I report layer.
By the way, I see that in your list of apps there is the latest xposer installer and the latest appsettings, where did you get them?
The villainrom website wasn't working these last weeks, does it mean that they are back?
Well i downloaded 2 version of p6210, @ mw mod +tab ui ive got freezes after 2 times i just backed to standard ui n installed mw mod there. Generally its working well, but 1st problem is i cant open 2 times same application (for example browser), next problem is buttons near miniaps wont work, are like dead.

@unclefab if u go to the xposed thread using the link i provided in the first post u should see the latest xposed & then there is a link to a temp page(i think villain is indeed still down) with a bunch of modules including app settings 0.4(although all of them aren't up to date)
@loolser I actually just edited one of my posts above to provide a link to the multiwindow apps manager module thread where the developer states that "not all apps can be run in multiple instances" & specifically lists browsers as NOT working but there is always a way so i'm sure someone will figure it out as far as the bottom buttons, as of right now those do not work so dont worry about them...actually part of the reason it took so long to get this mod working was because i was too focused on trying bring those dead buttons back to life.
You may have already done so, but if not you might try contacting the OPs on some of the multi-window ROMs on the Galaxy S3 development forum to get some pointers on how they implemented these features in their TW ROMs.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1672
amazing mod, congratulations. here in p6210 worked perfectly. Xposed installed module to put other applications on multiwindows
Regarding phone app, try logcat.
Yeah that would be a definte deal breaker
I did some testing and it works fine.
Regarding the problem with the mini apps I can't tell, I had removed that stuff from the first day.
All my apps open, including the browsers, but some behave a bit strangely. It has nothing to do with this mod, they have the same funny behavior on my galaxy grand that has multi windows out of the box.
The only thing is that the minimize button doesn't work, hopefully it will get fixed over time.
By the way, this mod works without the flash bar app so one can remove it if one wants (I did it and my tab didn't explode )
If someone has apps that don't open one can try to add them manually following this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2068796"
Yep, the villain web site is still down but I downloaded everything from your links, thanks for that.
Thank you again for this mod, that was the last thing I needed. I always thought that no multi windows ability was a big drawback, and I craved for it since the days of honeycomb
This plus Chris' tablet ui mod, it's like a dream...

yeah u should be able to remove both the "flashbarservice apk", "com.sec.feature.flashbar.xml", as well as "com.sec.feature.multiwindow.tablet.xml"(which simply supplies the selection in settings menu which u wont need without the flashbar) files without MUCH consequence...all of these can be found in 'SYSTEM - ETC - PERMISSIONS" The reason i chose to still include it is because the window resize function is broken and dragging from the bar allows the apps to be automatically sized to exactly half the screen(shown in the screenshot with the chess & maps app) which is what the dead buttons on the status bar SHOULD be doing *shrugs*
as another option, u can replace the "com.sec.feature.multiwindow.tablet.xml" with "com.sec.feature.multiwindow.phone.xml"(dont forget to change permissions) & it will add a multi window toggle to the notification panel BUT u will ONLY be able to use dual panel mode(with a small plus of having a button to make the apps switch sides) or in other words the flashbar will be the only way to get 2 apps on the screen because it will disable floating windows! i'm not sure why someone would ONLY want this functionality instead of the floating windows as well but i will attach the aformentioned file below anyway in case anyone is interested

OFF-TOPIC: But i DEFINTELY agree...my device is now almost perfect. The only thing really left to do now is mod my hdmi dock by adding a usb port to it so i can connect to the tv, watch movies from my external hd, AND charge the tab at the same time which is what samsung should have done from the start but thats another thread...anybody else thats interested in doing this can check out the topic in the accessories section linked below(thats actually one of the few things i would be willing to pay someone else to do for me though)

i actually JUST finished making a thread in the 7.7 general section looking for someone to provide me their android.policy.jar so i could make a zip for u guys. If u could upload yours that would be awesome...of course it must be 4.1.2 DEODEXED & preferably stock. The files came from the note 8 & all i did was add the multi window folder which is basically missing in every device without working multi window...the real magic(for us anyway) is HOW i figured that out which was to focus on the combination of the files from different versions rather than the code itself
So i was just informed that the official 4.1.2 update is not out yet but i did see the "erobot" rom which i'm assuming is a port but i guess that still could work
yup... just read the post you left... this is the android.policy.jar from e-robot... its actually base on Official stock JB for 6800... the 3g/wifi version... they still waiting thr wifi (6810) version JB release... but for 6800 was already being like a month...
erobot basically using the tw from 6200 for the phonetab ui. and some files from note 8 as well
THEDEVIOUS1, do you mind uploading your MC3 Deodexed ROM? A lot of people would probably use it. I can't seem to deodex mine. Thanks!

are u saying the buttons located at the bottom on the status bar are not working because if so thats a known issue. Did u go into settings & uncheck then immediately recheck the multi window selcetion under display(neccessary to get the dock to show up the first time)? What happens when u hit the maximize/restore icon in the top/lower right corner? Does the app float or does the icon even appear at all?
sorry...didnt see the picture u provided
i guess we should keep the 7.7 discussion in the proper forum before we get in trouble...lol

Trailblazer101's Custom Framework Maker v6
Now with my batch program, creating your own personalized Framework is as simple as 1.2.3!
This batch created by me was created with the "noob" in mind.. Of course this "noob" must already have Java installed, and should have ADB set up correctly
Features:
- Easy-To-Use Framework Chooser (with support for your own framework!)
- Softkey Themer (with easy access to create your own!)
- Custom Softkey Mapping Support (Nexus S included, easy to create and add your own!)
- 1.2.3 Package Creating (and Pushing/Rebooting into Recovery too!*)
- Unique Ticker Clock Color Selection (type in whatever color you can think of!*)
-Weather Icon and/or History Button Removal! (Actually removes the Icons, not just blanks them over!)
-Drag-and-Drop Functionality! (Includes all the tasks that you will ever want to do with an *.apk or *.jar)
-Automatically Checks for Updates! (Warns you if there in an update, displays text about the update, and opens up your browser to this page )
-Option to Set my Program as the Default Action for APKs and/or JARs! (So when you click on an APK and/or JAR, it'll open up my program!)
-Lots of Extras and Bugfixes! (Check it out!)
Developer's Mode! (You can find the option to enable it in Extras -> Program Settings!)
Future Proof! and Bug fixes (The method it now uses to set the Ticker Modifications works no matter what is going on with your Standbymode.xml file!)
Ability to Change Pressed Clock Color!* (You must be on a ROM that supports this to notice any changes...)
NEW: Compatibility with Gingerbread Mods!
NEW: Shows History in the choose file screen!
NEW: Set Update Settings from Program!
The function of this Program to create a new, all your own, Flashable Package that has your own personal touch to it
The wonderful thing about this program is that you can use this with any old framework-res file from any rom/mod package! This means that you can create your own themed framework from DJ20 up to EC07
There are only two stipulations: 1) that you are running a deodexed rom, which means that there are no .odex files located withing the system/framework folder or system/app folder... If you are in doubt about this, a stock rom straight from the store will NOT work! But pretty much any rom found on this website works 2) You have Java installed, and should have ADB properly set up!
Now, let's get down to specific details about the different functions and terminology:
1) Towards the top of the main page is very important! This is an easy view of what settings you currently have applied Always keep an eye out on this, to make sure that you have selected everything that you want to select!
2) Default= Not Changed... Whatever the previous framework had, this option will allow the new framework to have it too... This includes history button/weather icon removal!
This Just In: Add your own Color to the Ticker Clock! This is still in beta stages, so be careful when changing the color... If you see any error messages, DON'T ATTEMPT FLASHING THE PACKAGE... But if it works for you, you have the easy and convenient ability to set any color you want for the Clock in a matter of seconds!
Also, You can now remove the Ticker Buttons on the main screen automatically, within seconds! And the icons are removed, not just covered up!
A new feature recently added was the option for custom Softkey Mapping! This setting can be found under extras, then under Softkey Remapping As of right now there is only the Nexus S remapping, with the original added in in case anyone flashed the Nexus S one and wants to make a new package to go back, but you can make your own easily! Just use the original mapping as a starting point, and go from there
You are more than welcome, and actually encouraged, to add your own! You can copy in your own personal framework, and you can make your own folder with your own Images!
*Notice: Make sure if you do make your own images that the image names are the same as the original! This is important, or the batch will not work!
I have said this before, and I will say this again... Please, for the sake of the community, if you make a package, please upload it I will be more than happy to share it on the front page of one of my Threads, giving you all of the credit
If you have found this Batch helpful, almost to the point of a godsend, you can click that Donate to me button if you want

hmmm well tried v3,
adb said successful push, wasnt, did it manually.
ticker color mod created w/o previous error via v2
flashed and after pause on bootup went black and did the vibrating jig.
restoring now...
tested w/o success gonna try with my pulled frameworks, might be because of recent added settings mod.
great job non the less tb101!
Yeah, build v2 didn't actually say an error message when it should've, so that is actually a good thing kinda, haha...
Can you tell me please what settings you applied? Like, what framework, softkeys (if any), auto-create etc etc
BTW: I am on the IRC, that might be faster
yeah i havent done anything to my phone since the restore after the failed flash.
i used the ec07 builtin frameworks, original softkeys, and purple color on ticker lol.
i opted to push in adb and it said it was successfully pushed, but it wasnt.
side note:
been real busy with tune up etc on the cars i own and work. hopefully this weekend i can try again. and fully set up my new to me dual screen xp64 media pc with adobe master suite. partitioned correctly this time to install the droid dev kit in windows and live cd....
updated OP with new version! has Weather Icon and History button removing
finally thanked the post, cause.... it finally worked for me. thanks again.
is there a dif from op and the one i got last night?
Haha, thank God it finally works for you xP you were like the only one xP
And uh, not anything big I don't think, haha... But probably safe to switch to this version anyways, just in case xP
Sent from my SCH-I400 using xda premium
Whenever I choose to remove the ticker history button and push the framework to my phone my phone won't boot afterwards. I've tried twice
Can you look in the log for me and see if anything is error-ish?
And how are you pushing the framework?
And are you using a framework that matches your current set up?
Sent from my SCH-I400 using xda premium
I didn't notice any errors. I pushed it using the script and doing it myself through adb like I always have. Yea I'm using the framework that I pulled from my phone right before using the script.

New ROM with integrated BlackDog V6_SuperCharger script; BlackDog script
LegacyBlackDogROM1.04_MTD.zip
mirror server
MD5 Sum: f2de1fee666b90ce9064e51e0525c48f
Change log: thanks to J2k3, SB03 and cerchiara for suggestions and feedback!
removed custom gallery and added stock 3D gallery due to MMS pics not displaying
added Flash Player from FC09 stock- seems to improve web browsing
added stock Swype- seems to play nice even when paid or trial versions from Play co-exist with stock Swype (Face it; when you upgrade to another flagship phone, you'll need to practice sweeping a keyboard sometime; beats tapping on a tiny virtual kb and missing mostly all the time! Start practicing in landscape mode.)
re-themed Mms.apk (no more transparency wallpaper but chat bubbles are reformed)
re-themed contacts and dialer backgrounds- darker bg image courtesy of MWBehr @ xda from contributed work on transparent contacts on Cut & Paste ROM
re-themed the pull-downs again; sharpened corners & now 10% darker (I may go to 94% opacity like the pull-down transparency; let me know)
re-based the main system apps with a more recent apktool in hopes of increasing compatibility with newer 3rd party apps
note: this was to be a final ROM pending findings and suggestions; suggestions and feedback lead to some of the changes. Thanks for the input and encouragement. This still remains a daily ROM for me but may not be much longer since I'm due an upgrade and looking into new phone releases with 4G-LTE. I think Sprint and Samsung missed opportunities with the S4 and Note 3; I'm still looking for a good tri-band LTE flagship phone! But still hoping to get this ROM to a lesser need to update frequently and still supporting as a user.
Optional:
V6 SuperCharger Options: to add a quick widget for PowerShift on the fly:
1) open ScriptManager and navigate to location of script (V6 uses /data/V6_SuperCharger/PowerShift_Scripts... "Calculator-(8,12, 39,46,53,60)" is default but try as many as you like, use the one you like best), press and ensure Su is highlighted and "Save"d (You can mark as many as you like for quick widgets but do not set as boot; change as needed).
2) find open space on preferred home-screen, press/hold empty space (1x1 is the widget size), scroll left and select "Widgets", scroll to SMWidgets (available from google play if missing; should be in flash included /data/app), click "Add one script widget" and select your desired widget previously marked in first step.
Note: scheduled Flush-O-matic acts as a cache drop for freeing unneeded RAM cache left when exiting an app that may be using a lot of RAM every 4 hours. If you wish to adjust this, you'll need to download the script to adjust options; option 30.

LegacyBlackDogROM1.01_MTD.zip for TouchWiz FC09! Flashing instructions below...
changelog:
Updated /system apps (ADW and SuperSU) just updated
LegacyBlackDogROM1.00_MTD.zip
change log:
integrated BlackDog script with PowerShift scripts; set via SMWidgets (app free versions included in flash as tools/removable bloat)
restored Flush-O-Matic scheduled 4 hour cache' drop; now it will not flush until android sleeps so you're activity is not interrupted or slowed
updated ADW Launcher, Titanium Backup, SuperSU, Google Play (Black Market) & Gallery (now customizable, somewhat but it can be updated in Market or uninstalled for another app, if needed)
rolled back kernel due some concerns of FC09 kernel increasing battery drain after a notification (although my problem was mostly media scan bug due to suspect media, I wasn't the only user suspecting the kernel so I rolled it back)
swapped Talk and Google Search box to blacked-out versions; thanks to RUJELUS22 Themes for blacked out Gmail, Black Market, Talk, & Google Search Box. I've not been finding full functionality of blacked-out apps, recently. But RUJELUS22 blacked apps seem to retain better GB compatibility ATM.

Instructions and warnings:
How do I flash this?
Download, verify md5, back-up in CWM to be safe. If you are already on a TW ROM with MTD/yaffs partitioning, you can keep your data and just wipe cache and dalvik and flash (don't forget to backup, first). If you are on any other type of ROM, you should backup and wipe data first. I have heard from one source that ODIN is not required, if coming from CM but I have not tested that, myself. If trying, remember to flash the ROM twice or flash, reboot recovery and flash again. Note: Large TW kernels do not support TWRP; to be safe, do not inject TWRP recovery. (for CM to TW, personally, I'd recommend back-up, ODIN, root and then flash this). If unsure, read; clean install is the recommended method if having problems. If something does not appear to be working, let me know. This is MTD; if you are coming from ODIN or or currently using BML, this flash will auto-convert to MTD. Note: to get back to BML, you would need to ODIN with victory PIT file and repartion option selected.
To be safe: Be aware that is a development ROM. Although I've flashed and tested this in many different ways, some things still need to be tested. If anything should go wrong, you should be familiar and comfortable with the use of ODIN to recover a semi-bricked device: here.
Description and Credits:
Legacy ROM: an honorary gift from previous and current developers on a now outdated device (yeah, but I hope to get a Galaxy S4 LTE-A or Note 3, soon). As well as the implied: use at your own risk...I am not responsible for anything that could go wrong... please read before asking questions...older download links are at bottom of this post.
What is this? updated 8/1/2013
As the description states: This is a new ROM built from kennyglass123's deodexed from stock FC09 to include all modifications from the gingerbread gits still maintained by SenseiSimple and toadlife. Other mods have been added and available in XDA and elsewhere. Briefly, it includes the mods included in TPR (The People's ROM by kennyglass123) with exception of the flying-in transitions. Legacy ROM uses the ICS transitions found in SenseiSimple's git along with all those found there for TouchWiz FC09 ROMs. I've also added Zeppelinrox's V6 SuperCharger script and Chainfire's latest SuperSU (reverted to Superuser by ChainsDD 9/3/2013). It is rooted but you need to be rooted in order to flash. I've also included Center-Clock-Mod and a smooth scrolling mod. Mms.apk has search and suggestive search fixes that were introduced by modding the AndroidManifest.xml for transparency to wallpaper.
Some images and animations borrowed from ROM Toolbox with jrummy16's explicit permission. There are many others that will be recognized and hopefully, all thanked for their contributions. Additionally, I'd like to thank Travmofosho, kennyglass123 and Nash for porting much of the original theme works to gingerbread. I've also used some theme work from Tha_Dynasty2049, Thomasskull666 and Paul Diddy. If you know of someone I missed, even yourself, please help to credit those that gave freely. As a courtesy, thank them if you like their reproduced work and see them check-in on this thread.
Additional Credits: Thanks all and please help me keep this credit list accurate. Thanks TexasEpic4G for the scenic banner!
"Big thanks to all previous and current developers of the Epic that made this effort simplistically as possible.
Source: FC09 Deodexed with lots of [mod]s- Thanks to kennyglass123 for source deodexed FC09, permission to use the EB/TPR kernel, and for encouraging me to release this. Thanks also to SenseiSimple and toadlife for keeping the GB development git updated.
My mentors (This list is reserved for those that gave direct feedback that helped me in some way. Thanks!): MWBehr, Travmofosho, ÜBER™, Nashdogg, kennyglass123, darkierawr, RandomKing, Ca1ne, flastnoles11, jrummy16, lilajrestnom, gooch1025, SenseiSimple and toadlife. Gosh, what would I know about android without these guys and more, I'm sure there are many more that I've used their work in one way or another, including the credits below.
Features:
Zeppelinrox's V6 SuperCharger script integrated into ROM. You can flash, and perform an extra boot to start service. EarthBound's zipalign included on boot, including initial flash 'n boot. Other V6 options available in Terminal Emulator are sclean, fixfc, vac and flush. Please read his tread. Zeppelinrox links xda updates via tweets.
SuperSU (root)- Read about the SuperSU in XDA, here, and thank Chainfire. Root is now secured by SuperSU.
Sprint Connections Optimizer
Most Bloat removed; see kennyglass123's TPR thread for extra bloat flashable
Samurai custom FC09 kernel
- Voodoo sound
- Voodoo color
- Overclocking (enable higher frequencies in included Control Freak app)
- Undervolting (Stock voltages default; default I/O Scheduler and CPU Governor: vr/Samurai are a good setup for this ROM; alternate could be sio/wheatley)
Logsprovider fix...no texts in log (found in git)
swipe notification mod- thanks Ca1ne
GPS Fix - Thanks Heinkhieu
Hotspot Hack - Thanks Necrosan (found in git)
Modified Power Menu - Thanks to untermensch (found in git)
Scrollable status bar toggles - Thanks SenseiSimple (found in git)
ICS Transitions (found in git)
CRT Off animation (found in git)
CRT-On animation -there are sources for this but I cannot recall the contributor that simplified this mod; help please!
Smooth scroll- thanks AndroidOn (This feature removed in releases, after 7/20/2013)
Volume rocker mod (sound on to vibrate to silent) thanks mkasick (found in git)
Screen stays off when unplugged
No battery full popup (I use a visual "full" icon at the 1% battery because the icon is more accurate than blue light for bump charge users)
Removed audible low battery warning when screen is ON as well as that fake shutdown screech; it's now a silent pop-up at 5%. There are no interruptions of service or impact to performance.
Low Battery audio warning tone still sounds on boot or Screen-Off when battery is less than 5%; powers-down at 0%.
Included visual battery low warnings starting at 14% (battery % changes from white% to Red%) At 4% it starts animating with battery "!" icon.
Charge animation has been simplified; no wasted resources and bulk to animate a charge from current% to 100%; the UOT Decimal animates with charging icon to accomplish a reasonable charge animation. credit or criticism to me on those mods. Other mentionables: UOT Kitchen and LeoMar75 for in-depth GB mod
Center Clock Mod with no notification overlap- thanks to Ticklefish and sdojoin
Modified stock Lockscreen slider and ring- Sorry, I forgot the source of my original png but I modded it.
Some different sounds - thanks to Nash, SenseiSimple and others I'm sure
Blue Gingerbread Keyboard - disable other keyboards to use -thanks GregTard (and Orlzzt for finding it)
Transparent Mms.apk with tinted chat bubbles and fixes for text search and suggested search- by myself and MWBehr
Transparent Contacts- thanks MWBehr
Semi-transparent-curved dialer ported (by samep) from an original work kept alive by Paul Diddy's archive; sorry, I've forgotten the original author's id
Simple In-call dialer theme thanks to Paul Diddy for those buttons, too; backgound by me (samep)
Theme port by me, samep, thanks to the many sources here: Paul Diddy, Travmofosho, Nash, Tha_Dynasty2049, & Thomasskull666. Special thanks to jrummy16 for permission to use images and OG Droid bootanimation from ROM Toolbox; see pull-down animation and hidden GB Easter-egg.
Pull-down-animation with non-transparent background runs once and clears out of view, leaving semi-transparent notification background. All individual dividers removed to allow better view of animation.
TW Launcher (not present in later releases)
Removable apps: Titanium Backup, LBE Privacy, Control Freak, Script Manager and widgets, Voice Serach, and Customizable Gallery.
Intent:
To bring a well-equipped ROM and tool to end-users that is both pleasing to the eye and succeed with minimal flashing and tuning. You may recognize the kernel splash screen; kenny gave permission to use that. (it's the only version of the EB FC09 kernel with notification LED fixed). It's also EarthBound's best kernel for FC09 and needs no special tweaking; defaults are a very good starting point. Voltage Control is included in the flash as well as Titanium Backup, if needed for your paid apps restoration. SuperSU helps to avoid an issue loading wrong su binary from market, if updating to newest superuser but, so far, I've had no issue updating SuperSU and using the suggested su binary it asks the user to upgrade to. The included busy box is the one from SuperCharger Starter Kit and the V6 SuperCharger script is setup to launch at flash but doesn't go continuous service until rebooted once after the initial flash and boot. There is also a programmed 8-hour flush to free up RAM to hopefully reduce lag without inducing lag. You can test and adjust all these scripts to suit yourself but at least you can gain from from not having to set this up, initially. For updates and useful hints; read Zeppelinrox's OP and read some more. The added feature is only the beginning; V6 changes frequently and discussion is both educational and lively. No need to discuss much about V6-SC, here. Start here, if needed. Don't forget to thank him while you're there, if you haven't before. His work is also linked in his signature.
I've also included Black Market and YouTube by B-boy™ among the free apps that may frequently have to be loaded or restored when flashing a new ROM. His blacked-out/inverted and transparent apps are here. Thank him here.
Testing, notes & suggestions:
Testing
As far as I know, Legacy ROM versions are stable. I had asked volunteers to test 4G Wimaxx and hotspot tethering; no 4G here for me. One user of Legacy ROM v1.03 confirms 4G is working... not much complaints but requests were made for changes. I was maintaining more than one version to accommodate some users' requests but some have PM'd farewell wishes as they moved to other forums after phone upgrade so the multiple versions' support has ceased pending further requests which I do consider.
You've tested, now what?
Post your feedback. Request proposed changes. Test and share feedback. Like it? Use it. Wanna change something and share it? Fine but don't forget to credit the sources, including myself (some of my work is in there, too.)
Some V6_SuperCharger notes are here.
Color issues? see this post for voodoo app settings. thanks to Marcusant, lilajrestnom, and elevans for options, testing and searching.
Force Close or black screen with or without shutdown Issues? You need a good Superuser application that updates the su binary correctly on this phone, Superuser by ChainsDD and Superuser by ClockworkMod have been tested. ChainsDD su binary 3.0.3.2 can be found in BlackDogROM1.03 seems best suited to quickly and correctly declare a Force Close and allow you to Force a Close of app and continue without hanging up or rebooting. Sadly, there are third-party apps that can be tested but the developers have been notified of the issues. Android 2.3 is not fully supported by third-party apps but mostly functional. And I found that newer su binaries don't seem to be expecting these issues and SuperSU and some others were not correctly updating the su after install or upgrade. I was manually updating SuperSU and releasing new ROMs until I realized the Force Close issues were not properly declared and hanging the UI for prolonged periods. No disrespect intended to developers; I think we all share the burden for the unanticipated actions that lead to Force Closes so I'm not pointing any fingers. The Superuser apps are probably best suited for rooting and maintaining root newer devices, anyway.
Screenies and quick note: battery used for capacity testing is a 2000 mAh third-party product with GT18 months of use; on average, it provides about an extra hour of display time compared to the 1500 mAh OEM battery which still performs well. Some third-party batteries may actually be smaller in size, requiring extra backing to keep secure contact with terminals; my OEM battery fits tighter than any battery I've purchased. (I use a strand of electrical tape running along bottom, back and top of battery to fill the void.)

I have yet to compile an accurate list of included features and credits. My notes on file at home were lost due to a local issue and I'm gathering that data again to post in the development thread at a later time. Meanwhile, this is ready for testing. I need volunteers to test 4G Wimaxx and hotspot tethering; no 4G here for me.
You've tested, now what?

Suggestions:
Other than just going back to your favorite launcher, the Lightning Launcher can be easily setup to suit your own use. I recommend adding to each home-screen before removing all that is there to preserve that screen's programmed stops. Otherwise, the setup becomes a little more complicated. The tutorials are linked on home-screen. The initial setup is very good if you only need three home-screens. You can add many more and even scroll up, down, left, right for multiple home-screens if you like. The dated thread on LL suggests that you have to buy a widget to use your app widgets; no longer the case, you can setup app widgets. Live wallpaper is supported but AFAIK, you have to set a shortcut in gestures to do that: I used "Two Fingers Down" swipe gesture and selected "wallpaper" function from the drop-down list to get LWP supported. I also programmed the Home key to get notifications from pull-down; interestingly, now the Back key finds my home screen like the former Home key when viewing the home-screens.
Read about the SuperSU in XDA, here, and thank Chainfire. Root is now secured by SuperSU.

Nice job samep. Good to see you still continuing on with the work we once started. Sorry that I haven't been around much to help. Been trying to learn new things from the pros and family and personal life has taken much of my time. Luckily there are other talented minds out there in effsi and dropple and bthorne79 and saramon to help keep us Rollin on the good ol OG epic. This is the best group of guys I've ever worked with. Gonna test this as soon as I get to my PC. Thanks bro.

Working on it but it's not really in my skill set. Anyone willing to make some; please do.
If you saw Cut & Paste Extra Crispy version, the differences would be most noted in theme, animated pull-down, boot animation, charge animation and lock screen. The large UOT Decimal 0-100% battery remains but I centered the clock and moved the low battery warning from wherever it was to 5%. The bonus on the warning is that if your screen is on, no audible warning; just a visual pop-up. I was able to remove that fake shutdown that would interrupt services like hang-up a phone call in-progress. No more startling warning tones while your holding the phone but if the screen is off or you boot with battery 5% or less, you will get the audible warning of low battery.
So to characterize low battery warnings while display remains on:
LT 15% battery % indicator turns from white to red (as in Cut & Paste Extra-Crispy)
5% you get a pop-up warning to plug-in.
LT 5% an animation starts to cycle between battery % (red) to !battery symbol.
0%-phone turns off
Use responsibly; you have been warned; lol! I did this for my own liking; what do you think? Keep it or go back to 15% or 20% screeeeech-fake-shutdown? Personally, that annoyed me. The best way to get 100% out of our battery is to wipe the battery stats when flashing new ROM or less than 50% on a reboot. If you needed until it shut down; you'd have it without it interrupting service. No risk to battery life AFAIK.
Actually, the differences are mostly in animation and function that screen shots may miss. IDK how in-depth screenshots can go; a video review may reveal more about this ROM than screenshots(?) I didn't give it wallpaper but I am open to suggestions.

Sorry, I've been slacking on the screenies. I just added 3 to the OP.
The wallpaper is not default (yet); let me know if this one is wanted or not. I'm taking requests for wallpaper but I do want to keep it dark and natural looking. This one is time lapsed.
Working on an update due to some market apps updating and minor appearance changes.
Possible revision upcoming and V6_SuperCharger Notes
I'm now holding off on an update I had uploaded & posted in OP; sorry to say that it looks like one of the build.prop may be breaking bluetooth. If you installed v1.02, test Bluetooth ( I couldn't get mine to turn on until I backed the build.prop out and went back to to a revised one). I'll see if I can add some battery savers in and leave out whatever is impacting Bluetooth enable). Removing the link until I sort this out. I would delete the post but the notes about V6_SuperCharger may still be of some use.
upcoming change log
update market apps
minor theme change (most of them in extended power menu and alternate AOSP lockscreen)
possibly add more battery saving tweaks to build.prop to test; from here.
Now may be a good time to review (for those not familiar) the script commands found in Zeppelinrox's thread.
To Test:
Open a Terminal Emulator session and type "cat /proc/*/cmdline | grep Super" (only what is inside the quotes)
If you get only "Super", the service is not running.
If running, the return also returns /system/etc/init.d/99SuperCharger & /data/99SuperCharger.sh
Things to look for:
browse to sdcard and see if a file something like "!SuperCharger.html" exists. If so, the text inside has a link to a help file from Zeppelinrox to help you. As a troubleshooting help, the file copies to your sdcard when running the script. You can also delete this file after running the script successfully to know that if it appears again, there may be an issue running a service a boot. Just remember, it may have appeared again because you ran the script but did not delete it.
You can also check your logs found at /data (use a root browser to navigate and check) for the various services ran at boot; they may give clues to problems encountered. You can also read the script for your setup. Note: I used thses while troubleshooting the integration of V6_SuperCharger into the ROM. I don't anticipate problems unless you've made changes.
How to make changes:
You'll need to download the latest Zeppelinrox script. see the OP for link; you also need this for updates to V6_SuperCharger services. Outside of flashing this ROM, your support for V6_SuperCharger service should come from searching and reading his thread.
Sorry, but to uninstall V6-SuperCharger, you'll need to download the script.
If you have no previous settings but want to make changes, run the script and select "Driver Options" to make those changes.
Already have V6_SuperCharger and don't want my setup?
I have not tested this theory but I think if you run the script and charge from sdcard (default) on your initial boot, you will overwrite all my settings. Also, I think as long as the script is not run, your SDcard settings remain unchanged. No guarantees; I have not tested this.
Terminal Emulator Options:
type "su" then V6_SuperCharger command as follows, below
"fixalign"- Two operations in one- fix permissions and zipalign
"vac"- cleans the Database
"sclean"- superclean and restart (really not necessary as service is setup to continually run)
"flush"- delete some cache to make more RAM available
Note: want to do all the above? Just reboot; done!
Note: There is a delay in starting the SuperCharger Service after a boot. Due to startup programs and other services trying to start, you cannot expect initial speediness after a boot. I've tried to keep the phone on a flush schedule of 8 hours. It's also untested but there could be times that an timely flush could cause lag. Please let me know if this becomes an issue and any steps you may have tried or are familiar with to avoid this possibility. It's possible that a ScriptManager Widget for "vac" may work better on demand. Thanks!
Running this now--extremely awesome ROM! It is fast, smooth, and stable for me. I'll test 4g tomorrow when I go out (dont have it at home).
Request: Can you give an option to disable the android drawing when the notification bar is pulled down? It's cool, but pretty distracting when it does it every time.
Thanks for your hard work
Re: [ROM][FC09][TW-MTD] Legacy ROMv1.01
Well, I can remove it altogether and post an alternate download.
Do you like the aosp lock screen better than TouchWiz? I was gonna post a link for one, later. If so, I'll make them in one flash. No pulldown animation with aosp lock screen included.

My vote definitely goes for AOSP lockscreen, it always seemed easier on the thumb. Also I'm for a no animation version
v1.03 with AOSP lock-screen, no animated pull-down and updates
Download: FC09.LegacyROMv1.03_MTD.zip (linked in OP); Please read updated flash instructions just below...
Flash Instructions:
Backup data or nandroid
Wipe data, cache and dalvik
Flash ROM
Restore Data or advanced restore data from nandroid
Reboot once more
Note: This version has been removed; discovered why it can only be clean installed. New version to be released, soon.
change log:
improved V6_Supercharger integration
improved some .png's for AOSP lock-screen and extended power-menu
added a few more battery saver tweaks to build.prop- thanks omair2005
removed pull-down animation
removed Lightning Launcher and installed ADW Launcher
updated market apps

Katnerstone Hybrid Rom
JellyBean 4.2.2
MultiWindow Panels - EOS4 & Cornerstone based
KatKernel & KatBoost included
Hi everyone
Here's the first rom including my Cornerstone port to Jellybean 4.2.2
Quite a few have been impatient to get it, and as TeamEOS prefers not to have an official Cornerstone build at the moment,
I'm taking it into its dedicated thread, so that you can get a first taste, and it should help the traffic in the original EOS4 thread that way too.
Keep in mind that it's still a Work in progress, don't try it unless you're ready to play with a few bugs and workarounds for the moment.
Make sure you read post#2 to see the already known issues & workarounds
DOWNLOADS:
ROM: Katnerstone-4.2.2_V033.zip
FSYNC is off by default in the rom, if you prefer it on just flash this after the rom: fsync_on.zip
Latest Gapps Package: 4.2.2 Gapps for TF101
Older 4.2.1 Eos Gapps for TF101
If you prefer to have the Swipe feature in the default Keyboard you can use this version, but the Keyboard will crash on auto-correction
If you use this version, make sure you go the keyboard settings and change these settings:
+ Auto-correction off
+ Show correction suggestions:always hide
What's Cornerstone ?
Cornerstone is a code modification to the window manager & graphic layers that allows you to run 3 apps together on the same screen in different panels.
You can also run without the 3 panels (so that it is the same than running a regular rom), start or stop the multi panel interface at any time,
the side panels can also be collapsed or expanded at run time.
For more information see their website: http://www.onskreen.com/cornerstone/
Features:
Feature wise you get all the EOS4 features + Cornerstone on top.
See respective links for details.
Installation Notes:
As with any JB4.2.2 roms you need a recent recovery to flash it. The latest TWRP is advised.
Going to Katnerstone4.2.2 from a rom < 4.2.2:
Backup everything !
Go to recovery
Make a full wipe / factory reset
format /system
Flash the rom
Flash optional kernel
Flash gapps
Wipe cache/dalvik
Reboot
Updating from Katnerstone 4.2.2 #VXXX to #VYYY:
You can usually skip the full wipe step.
If ever you encounter an issue make sure you make a full wipe first before reporting though.
Main Goals:
Well of course the ultimate goal will be to eat all the bugs
I'll go by priorities:
- Fix the few bugs introduced when not running in 3 panels mode.
That way we can basically use it as a daily rom, and then decide to activate the panels or not as needed.
- Fix the cornerstone specific bugs.
- Improve the rom and cornerstone features.
Issues & Workarounds:
Keep in mind that it's still a work in progress, and I'll try to improve it as time permit.
Cornerstone is not released for Jellybean 4.2.2, so it required quite a few adjustments, and there are still bugs,
some introduced by the 4.2.2 version, and some that are still there since the 1st cornerstone version for ICS.
See post #2 for more details & how to report
Disclaimer: The usual
The rom is provided as is.
Use at your own risk, I won't be responsible for any damages caused to your Transformer or to yourself.
In most cases if something breaks, flashing a rom on top should fix it.

Additional info & links
Known Issues & Tips:
Multi-panel interface specific:
When collapsing the small panels, part of the apps will stay on top of the cornerstone interface.
=> just ignore, you can still hit the collapse/expand button in between the apps
Collapsing and expanding might not position the cornerstone "vertical bar" correctly sometime
=> just hit the collapse/expand button a couple of times and it'll reposition correctly.
Without running the multi-panel interface:
The default browser's is displaying the first page even if you choose another page
=> Start the cornerstone panels and try again.
Launcher seems to get killed everytime you hit the home button.
=> It doesn't do it if you run the panels.
Recent apps window might rotate wrongly.
Top most dialogs will get crazy and flash (dialogs asking you for default apps and so on)
=> you can still click on the choices if you're fast
=> hitting the home button or another recent app will get you out of the "loop"
=> running with the multipanel interface is not having this issue, so you can start the multipanel temporarily the time you can pick the choice in the topmost dialog.
General:
The cornerstone code might stop services randomly, this bug is there since the first release of Cornerstone unfortunately, so it might not be easy to fix.
Annoying side effects: everything that relies on a service that has been killed might not work properly (clock will not update, some of the EOSCC changes won't work, and so on...)
The original code is made for TabletUI, so it's not aware of of the statusbar on top, because of that the apps and cornerstone interface is "layered under the status bar currently.
=> For the top cornerstone panel you can still reach the top right button to choose the app running in the panel, even if you can't see the icon just click there.
Not all apps are compatible with the cornerstone code
Desktop wallpaper might not display with default laucher
=> use another launcher
EOS4 & JB Specific:
GPS:
if it is taking a long time to get a lock or no lock, follow this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38368206&postcount=2452
Google search:
If the version you're using is crashing when you open Google Now,
go to Settings => Language & Input => Voice Search , then uncheck Hotword Detection.
Other Tips
How to report:
Things to check before reporting:
- If it's a general question or if it is not specific to this rom ask in the Q&A section
- make sure you have read all the tips and searched on the forum before reporting an issue.
- try to reproduce your issue right after flashing and before restoring anything
- wait that the cpu usage is down to close to 0% for a few seconds before proceeding with testing.
- Check that it is not already listed in the known issues.
Reports about performances issues:
Keep in mind that coming from a full wipe / factory reset, there are a few cpu and disk io tasks that are going to happen:
- Mediascanner service is going to rescan all your medias, which can take from a few minutes to a few hours or days if you have many
- Google will restore / sync things.
So make sure that it is finished and that some app is not eating the cpu or disk io before reporting.
What to send in your report::
- Make sure you describe exactly what happens before/during/after the issue.
- If you can reproduce it, write a step by step way of reproducing it.
- If your issue is a performance issue, explain in details what you define as such
(is it taking time when you click , is it that it seems to have a low fps ? ..)
Make also sure you indicate the following:
- which rom/version are you using ?
- which kernel are you using ?
- did you follow the exact procedure listed above for flashing ?
- did you restore any of your applications / settings ?
Run these commands in a terminal:
su -
busybox top -n1 > /sdcard/top
dmesg > /sdcard/dmesg
logcat -d > /sdcard/lc
include the resulting files: /sdcard/top & /sdcard/dmesg & /sdcard/lc in your post
Thanks that will help to debug and save me a lot of time if I get correct reports

Ermagherd I haven't sat and stared at a download bar like this for quite some time.
This looks pretty cool and is definitely appreciated. But I have to admit I'm more interested in this from a developer point of view than downloading your ZIP
Is this something which is viable to build yourself or integrate into your own Android-build?
From what I can tell from the source, this is an additional overlay which you apply to your device-tree. Is that correct? Or is it just a hot-patched / copied over the Android-repo after it's synced?
Or am I completely missing the big picture? Any feedback appreciated
I managed to work around the trippy flashing screen and overlay system bar, but I'm not able to select the menu button in TiBu whether I'm using Cornerstone or not.
Also I appear to have the weird no desktop image bug from the recent EOS build.

The thing with the cornerstone code is that it's heavily modifying the android framework / window manager.
So you get an extra spaghetti layer on top of the existing android window manager spaghetti code
So it's not the easiest to maintain as you'll need to update back & forth and merge the regular rom changes all the time.

It's file replacements/patching mostly in frameworks/base
which is quite busy and where most roms modifications already are unfortunately
Then you have the multi panel interface that is in separate packages, so at least that last part is easy to add on top.
But yeah, I'm still pondering how to release the code currently, as it's merged into EOS4 framework/base basically.
Doing file overwriting replacements like posted originally on the cornerstone git won't work well for other roms, these had to be adapted for 4.2.2 & EOS specific code.
I think the less painful might be to just post the new forked framework/base for EOS4.
Have to see...

What's Tibu ?
And do you mean you can't select the button because it's under the status bar at top ?
If it's too high that can definitely happen, until I've fixed that issue listed in post #2

Yeah the new code doesn't seem to like cornerstone.

Titanium Backup as guessed ^ up there.
It's weird, because I can see the button, I can click on the button, the button even highlights to show the click, but nothing happens.
The wallpaper thing isn't really an issue since as you said I can just use another launcher once I can get my backups working.

Hmm, yeah that's weird I can reproduce that too, not sure what Titanium backup menu doesn't like...
The other buttons seems to works fine, like the scenario one next to it.
For the moment if you need to change something that is reached with the menu button, I'd advise to flash the regular EOS4 back, change the setting there,
flash back this rom, and only wipe /cache + dalvik-cache without doing a full wipe as to keep the settings / apps
Overall you should be able to "dirty-flash" this rom on top of EOS4, that should save time too.
Well I moved my backups onto the internal sdcard as a lazy fix, but now when I try to restore them in the batch action menu, none of the buttons there work either.

Thanks so much for taking on this exciting project. So far, cornerstone doesn't minimize. It animates like its going to, but then doesn't. The screen cuts off the top of everything whether or not cornerstone is used. And I get flickering whenever I'm suppose to choose how to open a file. The dialog box flickers and its almost impossible to tap the box to make a selection. Also, hiding system bars doesn't work.

It works for me, but just not all the time, When it doesn't you just need to hit the collapse / expand button again and it should work.

Yeah should work fine.
Just flash on top and wipe /cache + dalvik-cache should be enough for these versions.
What to do ... I was just thinking yesterday about how beautifully stable and useful my TF101 was and now this comes out. I must resist, must use my system for a while first.
Ahh, to heck with it. nandroid backup & flash this to try it is
[edit so I don't spam the thread]
Wow, just wow. I had wondered if it would be a novelty running windows on a small screen, but no - it took me no time flat to see how useful this could be.
Tim, you have definitely outdone yourself - I'll do my best to run it as a day-to-day build to report anything I can see. So far I see nothing that would prevent me from doing that!

NOTE: In using these mods, you may lose mods/features that you already installed previously that affects the following files ( SystemUI.apk, SecSettings.apk, FlashBarService.apk, framework-res.apk, services.jar and android.policy.jar).
Moving from one UI to another affects stability of stock apps so you might want to choose alternatives. Use Xposed App Settings to correct misplaced layouts of stock apps or you can import apps from Note 10.1, note 8 and Tab 2. Use multi-dpi Play Store. I suggest you choose one UI and optimised apps for it and stick with it. TW Launcher does not like changing UI so you may encounter frequent FC so be sure you install alternative launcher. You can go to settings and delete data for TW Launcher to fix it. Stock browser does not like window mode so it is best to use the Note 8 stock browser. Dialer/Contacts will have layout issues and may FC in window mode so I advise not to launch it in window mode or you can just use Note 10.1 or Note 8 Contacts/Dialer which solves this issues or better yet install alternative Contacts/Dialer from PlayStore.

THREAD HISTORY BELOW: For those who want to know how it started.
******************************************************* How it started... ******************************************************
Hello Note 2 Friends,
I hope you don't mind me crashing into your forum. First, I want to tell you I don't have a Note 2 but I have a Note 1 and some Note 2 users who have been following my threads in the Note 1 forum have been nagging me for quite some time now about bringing some features of my mods from Note 1 to Note 2. It took me awhile but I decided to give it a shot, but I was hoping I could get your help along the way. This is a work in progress (or development in progress) and I ask you to understand the limitations that I have considering I don't own the device. If in the process I am not able to achieve the goal I set out to accomplish, I would ask the moderators to delete this thread but in the meantime, to those who are interested, please, let us help each other achieve the goal.
So what is the goal?
The goal is to get a working TouchWiz Tablet UI and Phablet UI with floating multiwindows using the stock Note 2 systemui/frameworks so all the stock features are maintained and at higher dpis so text and pages are readable. The end goal is something like the photos at the bottom of this post.
I intend to do this in several stages.
1. Make a multi-dpi SystemUI that can scale from Tablet, Phablet and Phone dpis.
2. Trigger Tablet and Phablet UI at higher densities to make texts and pages readable.
3. Floating Multiwindows.
Before I proceed I want to make it clear that this goal may or may not be achievable because of my limitations and maybe limitations of code in the stock Note 2 firmware. I have not tested this on a Note 2 device and I posted it here to solicit volunteers for testing and for feedback. In the process of testing, please let me know any issues (possibly with more details, descriptions and screenshots) so we can iron out those issues.
Let us start with stage 1.
Requirements: rooted deodex rom - XXDMC3 (I used Wanam's XXDMC3 Rom as base so it is preferable to start with that, although it may work with other roms. But since it is a first stage, I want to be close to stock as possible and do themes/mods later). Please make a backup before you proceed - Very Important.
a. Install an alternative launcher like Apex or Nova, etc.
b. Install an alternative keyboard like Swype, Swiftkey, etc.
c. Download THIS and flash thru recovery. Reboot.
d. Now, let us test if it works.
e. Install build prop editor and change ro.sf.lcd_density value to 200 (tablet).
f. See if tablet UI is triggered at 200 dpi. If it is, then good.
g. Test Phablet UI by changing ro.sf.lcd_density value to 220. Then Reboot.
h. Waiting for your feedback...
Note: These are the dpis for the different UIs: 221 to 320 -> Phone UI, 201 to 220 -> Phablet UI, 160 to 200 -> Tablet UI.
******************************************************************************************************************
Stage 2
It seems Stage 1 is complete but only for some ROMs - the reason I believe is due to heavy modification of the SystemUI specially with regards to battery themes and maybe the use of addon frameworks like simplistic but tablet UI works with unmodified and slightly modified N7100 MC3 roms.
Stage 2 is partly done by stage 1 already because tablet UI is triggered at higher densities. Technically, tablet ui for the Note 2 is supposed to start at 144 dpi and phablet ui at 192 dpi but because of the modified frameworks, it is triggered at minimum 200 for tablet and minimum 220 for phablet. I dont know if tablet @ 200 dpi or phablet @ 220 dpi is good enough for you Guys size-wise as I can not see without a test device so you will have to tell me the sweet spot (what dpi) for tablet and phablet so I can modify the triggered density and make adjustments in spacing/padding of the navigation buttons/lockscreen shortcuts, etc. If you use _TB_TB xposed Tablet UI trigger found HERE with the Xposed Framework and trigger tablet ui at different densities and see which is the "sweet spot" dpi. Another is modifying Settings to include the quick launch option to enable/disable quicklaunch options on the systembar.
NOTE: While _TB_TB (he is the author of TabletUI trigger by the way) made a post here to not mess with dpi, that is what TabletUI trigger actually does. The difference between his method and mine is that mine has fine-grained control and can give you the option to move from one UI to another with properly spaced nav bar buttons. When and "IF" my mod is finished I will provide a very simple app to move from one UI to another and from Stock Multiwindow or Floating Multiwindow. Please take note of the word "IF" because there is a possibilty that the Note 2 firmware may not have the code for these features like it does for the Note 1 and Note 10.1 and Note 8.
Reading some of the posts, I believe a lot of devs have already attempted to go past Stage 3 and encountered some problems/issues considering they have a device to test with so I am thinking maybe Note 2 does not have the essential codes for floating windows. I believe they are smart enough to know how floating windows works and how it is enabled. This makes me think twice whether to proceed to stage 3 or not. But there is one test I need to make to know if it works or not but that would be on stage 3 so now you just have to tell me the best tablet dpi or phablet dpi and please post screenshots of graphical errors or whatever so I know how to fix them.
For those using the tablet and phablet UI, I know there are layout problems with stock apps because they can't scale well at lower dpis. You can use alternative Note 10.1 or Note 8 ported apps which are already in their respective forums and I recommend you use xposed framework and app settings module to set your preferred app layouts. Another is modifying Flashbar multiwindow for multi-dpi but I need to get the screen dimensions so I can properly mod it. If you install Screeninfo app, it will tell you the screen sizes (w x h) if using tablet/phablet ui and let me know the dimensions or maybe a screenshot so I will be able to modify Flashbar correctly.
For other Note 2/SGS 3 models like AT&T and Verizon, etc, you need to give me your Rom-related files so I can mod them. I need the SystemUI.apk, FlashBarService.apk, SecSettings.apk, framework-res.apk, twframework-res.apk, android.policy.jar and services.jar. Please state the device model and JB version so I can properly label them for others.
*************************************************************************************************************************************
Stage 3
Stage 3 is complete at least for the N7100 model with MC3 firmware. There are some limitations with the floating windows of Note 2 like no "Resize button" when apps are maximized/fullscreen because there are missing drawables in framework-res.apk and some incomplete multiwindow code. The truth is the Note 1 has more mature multiwindow code than the Note 2 and because of not having this device I could not possibly recreate the missing resources and code that are missing in Note 2 firmware. In fact, I would say the Note 2 JB 4.1.1 has more complete resources and code for floating multiwindows than the JB 4.1.2. If anyone is interested in the JB 4.1.1 then you can send me a PM together with the necessary files and I'll try to do the same mod for you.

For those that don't know about this. This mod is fantastic. Xperiacle. You should link your YouTube videos of this stuff in action.

can I change "setting DPI" with xposed framework...? what is the best DPI for "Setting"
*"setting" I mean like my attach.
thx
sorry for bad english..
Edit: floating multiwindows not work
SystemUI keeps crashing here.
X-Note v2.1 Zero
No floating windows in WanamLite rom. Will try another one.
Anyway thanks alot xperiacle, good work!
Try this samsung keyboard: works in tablet mode:
http://db.tt/bJVMnXzy
AFAIK in note2 devices dpi 145~160 is for tablet (145 gives cleaner UI) and 213 for phablet, please try it. User of Meoo's note 10.1 port.
This is just the first step towards the goal of floating Windows guys. It's not there yet. Xperiacle stated this is first step. He doesn't own the device. Just want to make sure the system can function at multiple dpi's. The next step will come later after having success with that.

Hi all..
I'm presenting for y'all, my collection of mods and/or alterations that I'm using in my phone..
Important thing here is that, none of these Mods and/or alterations need the user to have a custom recovery installed (& therefore, knock KNOX to 0x1 as a result voiding warranty of their phone).
Moreover, the zip that you'll download - will save you from putting in any efforts at all to make a backup of anything :victory: as, a backup of all the files & folders (even odex ones) have been included in the zip :highfive:
As mentioned in the title of this Thread, your phone needs to be on Samsung Stock Lollipop 5.0 Rom and you need to have Root access.
I'm using SM-N9005 and the firmware installed in my phone is
PDA : N9005XXUGBOB6
