oil resistant screen protector - Galaxy S 4 Accessories

Hello all,
im looking for an oil resistant screen protector, I'm currently using the zagg smudge proof but its not as smudge proof as advertised. I'm constantly sweading and using my phone and hate to wipe my phone oftenly. Im considering ether the sgp Ultra Oleophobic or Ultra Optics
which ones are you using out of these 2? Thanks..

As per experience, oleophobic version shows less oil smudges. But mind you, it's not 100% oil proof..only relative to other screen protectors.

I was thinking about rocking that Spigen TR glas screen protector. Lots of people have said its damn near smudge proof.

i went with the tech armor ballistic glass, its cheaper than Spigen ($20), it has an oleophobic coat and it does great with fingerprints.

Tempered Glass for s4 pros and cons over Film protectors?

What the pros and cons of tempered glass screen protector vs a Film screen protector?
My concern about the Tempered glass is that :
--it's adhesive is only on the bezel area and since sgs4 have smaller bezel so it might get detached easily
--Tempered Glass might scratch the glass beneath it
--If adhesive of the Tempered glass became less sticky Dust might accumulate inside
So can you tell me your experience with tempered glass screen protector? I really want to hear from someone who used this screen protector for long time and not on these reviews on youtube since they only used it on the time they review it.
And also does anyone tried using combination of Film and T.glass protectors?
i never bothered because they're so expensive and i screw up the screen anyways so the film type are more easily replaceable
ill probably end up buying 2 or 3 cases and end up using only screen protectors in most situations lol.
to me i rarely drop my phone but i have trouble keeping it out of my pocket with my keys and change, other things. ive been pretty good about it but not perfect.
First off my only problem with tempered glass on my S3 was that it messed with screen responsiveness... Now the ones for the S4 are mostly half the thickness of last years so that should help that problem a lot. The iLoome protector fort the S4 is fully clear and I assume it has adhesive over the entire surface. The sense of mind you get with glass is great. Plus the feel of glass is much better than that of other screen protectors. If you can find one that doesn't take away from screen sensitivity than i'd say it's definitely worth it if you care about your phone.

I have a "Flexible Glass Screen Protector" on my S3 that has adhesive all across the back. I have only removed it once in the couple month's that I've had it. I have not encountered any dust getting between the two pieces of glass. The adhesion has not deteriorated any either. I am very happy with it and I really am hoping I will be able to locate one for my S4. The only draw back that I have found is that the thicker protector limits the cases you can use. My favorite cover before I got the protector was the Seidio Surface case and it no longer can be used. I also like my Otterbox Defender case and I was able to "squeeze" it on after I removed the plastic protector that came on the cover. It's a tight fit, but it does work.

It isn't 6mm thick, that would be +70% the thickness of the entire phone! lol
Maybe 0.6mm, that would still be very thick for a screen protector.
Spigen film is the way to go... $14 for two protectors and easy to install...
Just watched a review of the Spigen Glas.tR and it is also CLEAR!

I had a glass protector on my GS3 (XGear Spectre, I think) and it worked fine - no loss of sensitivity. It did allow some tiny dust in, but it was easy to lift and wipe it out the couple of times it happened over 8 months. And the week before my S4 came in, I managed to drop the S3 on its face...the screen protector cracked, and the phone is still perfect. Looking at the Spigen one next week just because of that.

Okay, I found the ad for the flexible glass protector. I ordered it on eBay, this one is very similar even though it is for the Note 2: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Gal...193&pid=100040&prg=1011&rk=1&sd=230950051927&
I love this screen protector and am hoping that I will be able to get one for the new S4.
---------- Post added at 12:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:08 PM ----------
I also had the one everyone was talking about at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1920757
But, like someone said previously, it had adhesive only on the outside edges and dust or dirt could get underneath the protector.
I ended up breaking it on the corner when I removed it to clean beneath it.
That does look like a nice one.
I bought the Spigen Slim Glass screen protector and I am 100% satisified. Zero less in screen sensitivity and it feels smooth as, well, glass

That's awesome. Which one did you get? .TR or .T? I didn't like the one for the s3 but apparently this one is better as the adhesive is all over.

I got the tr, I think its the thinner of the two. Its definitely fully adhesive, I love it.
spigen GLAS.tr for what phone?

Spigen GLAS.t SLIM = non-rounded borders - (0.23mm) - thinner
Spigen GLAS.tR SLIM = rounded borders (0.4mm)
You're correct the t is the thinner material. Either way it feels great and installs fairly easily.
I had the glas for the s2, I LOVED(easy to clean the screen of finger oils) it, however, it attracted dust underneath the screen protector due to adhesive being only at the edges, I took it off after a couple of months. With the full adhesive, i will definitely buy again for my soon to arrive S4. Especially since I just dropped my s2 face down on the ground and broke the screen a couple weeks back (without case), the glas would serve as a shield.

Spigen Glas vs. Ultra Oleophobic

Has anyone had both of these screen protectors? How do they compare in clarity, feel, oil and fingerprint resistance? Thanks!
I have both. Using the Olephobic on my iPhone 5 and a Glas tr on my S4. The Glas tr wins, it's more resistant smudging and feels nicer.
agreed. will not go back to regular screen protector anymore
The glas TR is amazing, it feels buttery smooth (super buttery) to the touch, and is pretty resistant to finger oils and smudges, if smudges is on the glass, a simple quick wipe will get most of it off.
And it also gives me a peace of mind that the glas will also give some sort of protection for when I drop by phone. Heck, even the folks who have cracked their amoled just by putting it in their pockets which flexed it enough to crack it..
Glas is well worth the money.
Thanks for everyone's feedback. The gorilla glass does feel great, smooth. Nice that the glas will preserve that. I'm using a case so the glas.T is what I want right?

I'd pay more money and get the tr with the curved edges, it very nice. I use it with a case, but still, the curved edges makes it feel like the glass if part of the phone, unlike a non-curved edge.
Spigen glass tr slim the way to go

Do you feel the edges at all with a case though? I'm just thinking about the regular version being slightly thinner.

I guess if your case never comes off, than the T will do just fine. My slim hard case has no protection for the top and bottom, so that's why the TR is nice.
The Glast.r with the spigen slim armor case is the BEST combo I've found by far. Simply amazing.

Go for the glas.tr version. It's not much more and you'll have the peice of mind it's more durable.

The glastr honestly feels much smoother than the glass screen of the s4
I went with MIME Ghost Glass myself. It has a hardness rating of 9H and the Spigen was 8H. So the MIME is harder then the Gorilla glass 3 (a7H-8H rating) though MiME is .08mm thicker (.32mm to MIME's .40mm)
Just my 2 cents worth and reasoning for it.

9H Hardness SUPER Screen Protector

I got something to share to your guys! Real something! The most strong screen protector film for Galaxy S4.
It's made of very strong nano tempering glass, hardness can reach 9H (the common good screen protector film hardness is 3-4H). set it to your Galaxy S4, no need to worry about the key or some other hard things in your pocket will scratch the screen anymore. Smooth & comfortable touch sense, remove fingerpring, high light transmitting outpu to enable you enjoy watching vedio and playing games!
Just Love It!
Is it just me or is this "benkstech" guy here to advertise products?
Glass to protect my glass? you can just replace the actual screen youself for a fraction of those glass screen protectors for glass screens

What's the thickness of it? I'm using Spigen GlasT Nano Slim which, at .15mm thickness and 9H hardness, is the best glass screen protector out there.

it's .2mm thickness. how long have you used this 9H protector? Is there any aspect fading if it has been used for long time. The 9H protector cost much more than common ones. but i think it worth even i use it only for few weeks.

No, it's not a glass. It's a thin screen protective film, made of different layers. You can install and use it as similar steps with common screen protectors. but far strong from the common protective films.

Probably not totally glass. Has an explosion proof layer beneath the glass. Wow! This will come in handy when I'm in an explosive environment! For now though, I stick with Spigen Glas T

You got. Thanks. sorry i didn't clarify clearly. Haha. The explosion layer is for protect the phone screen only. NOT that amazing functions actually(because the screen and the phone is always taken by user'shand, haha).

Any good screen protector (case friendly?) :(

Just bought the phone, ordered a case and a screen protector
Just to found that I had to use one or another because when I put the pone in the case, the screen glass just peels off...

I don't think olive oil is a big deal... Just apply a generous amount and it'll stick for a while. I'm up to a month I think and it still looks brand new. Yes it's case friendly. I have a heavy duty car and slim case. Both don't mess with the screen at all
I couldn't stand the white Halo around the edges with my previous screen protector, so I ordered the Skinomi wet install one. It's not tempered glass, but more like a thick film. Very happy with the results. There are no bubbles and no air around the edges. You can't even tell there is a screen protector on the phone. Now I know it won't protect the screen in a hard fall, but it will definitely prevent scratches. Goes really well with my thin Tudia case.

I'm not a big fan of thick tempered screen protectors in the first place. They don't cover the entire phone like the film ones do. I've never cracked a screen on any of my phones and just need something to protect the screen from scratches.
I use TPU wet application film protection.
Skinomi works fine with my Tudia GLOST

Pixel 3a - need protective case with glass protector

I can not find a good quality drop-protective case with glass screen (not plastic film). I do not need waterproofing just good drop protection. Must have glass screen protector as all my plastic protectors are oil smudge prone. Any ideas are most appreciated.

This is a great deal at $9.95. it includes two glass protectors and so far is not bad. Hard to line up over the front camera port but had good drop protection and feels nice in hand.
Go with Spigen Tough Armor. Two drops on a concrete garage floor... No issues.
Get a "Lightning King" (L[emoji298]K) off Amazon for cheap. You get three glass protectors which have camera cut out. Easy install.

i use a unicorn beetle pro for my case. i ripped out the case by submerging the case in warm water for a few minutes. the screen protector on this case sucks ass, but the case itself is fantastic.
