It simply deletes the..Thumbnails folder in intern sd, you can also do it manually but the files will get generated again over time. And the poor media scanner issue has not yet been fixed by google

You can freeze the video player with titanium backup after deleting thumbnails. The preview thumbnails will not be created any more. Use alternate video players like mxplayer etc. This will fix the issue and give back a few hundred MB or in my case 1.3 gb space back depending on your video library.

So I am truly confused.
I am trying to install an apk that is 6mb and I keep getting an error that I have insufficient space.
Problem is, 14 regular market apps updated just fine.
And I've 7.5 gigs free space.
I've rebooted into cwm recover, and fixed permissions, cleared the cache, still no fix.
Any ideas?

Yes sir.
The only thing done was a root. Other than this I'm stock.
Meaning I am not running any custom rom.
I have installed Google now... But that's it. That's the only mod flashed and it's been there two days before this problem manifested.

Of all the icons there one was a blank white tile, with the name of the developer, but no icon.
I deleted that...
Seems to be working now. You are a smart guy. Thanks given!

I have a video that somehow broke while copying it over from my phone to my sd card.
I have tried loads of different players and it seem like none of them can pick up the time stamp on the video, and it won't play.
Do any of you know a video fixing software? I have tried to convert the codec into different formats using nero etc but none of that works...
Any help is appreciated guys, if anyone can help that is
If the file size reduced...you should try some recovering softs..

I had thought of that but they all want money, and I don't want to pay that much for something that I am probably only ever going to use once
I don't think its the size, there is no time on the file, its hard to explain.
Can you recommend a software? Its an mp4 file
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
If you have deleted the file then you can use a software called recuva which recovers the data free of cost ( I have tested it)
PLEASE HIT THANKS IF I HELPED YOU

Try using VirtualDub to play the file (if it should load you should be ok), then probably save the AVI and re-encode it

Hi, how to scan videos on sd card with the stock video player
Sent from my GT-N8010 using XDA Premium HD app
I have ES File Explorer installed and my home network settings input in the LAN settings. I simply choose a file to open on my tablet, my WIFI network or my battery-powered wireless hub and I get the option to open with a program of my choosing.
It should automatically list videos on internal and external storage. Try rebooting your device.
Rebooting tested but no scan sd card, videos, pictures and music
Sent from my GT-N8010 using XDA Premium HD app
When did this problem start?
Try using a file manager and opening one of the pictures or videos on ur sd card and then see if it shows up in gallery or video player after that.
Already try ... nothing change... no videos, pictures et mp3 on stock app
Sent from my GT-N8010 using XDA Premium HD app
This problem start when i go out my sd card ... after to go in, scan media take 1 or 2 hours to see videos.

Oh I see. I'm not sure then. =( sorry.
Maybe you need to backup your files and reformat your sd card.
Also, have you updated to the latest software version?

Hey!
I noticed I have almost 2gb of miscellaneous files all the time. What are these files and can I delete them?
Sent from my GT-I9105P using xda app-developers app
if u upgrade from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 recently without wipe data afterwards, this will happen. if that's not the case, just ignore me.
That's shouldn't be the case
Miscellaneous here refers to the files other than system memory and cached data. Which means the things you have on your internal sd card

if my case,i boot in recovery mode and do wipe data/factory reset, but that way,all your apps are gone too. so you should investigate better, like brian said, try search you internal via pc see got any abnormal file.
I did a little investigation and found out that there was still Asphalt 7 files after uninstall. Now I have a bit over 2gb free space and 0,8gb of miscellaneous files. I don't know what are those files, maybe some app data + play music + YouTube player cache.

In 4.4.2, moving apps to SD is all buggered up. I just went out and got a 32gb card thinking I could move my 1+GB games to it.

Are you talking about for FM? I never had to enter a path. Just do the apps analyzer and then create the pairs and let FM do all of it automatically. If this isn't what you are asking then please elaborate.

I figured it out. I thought you had to make the paths manually. Didn't even notice the app analyzer. Purchased the premium version so I can move all my games! Thanks, man!
