Hello, I'm new to the One S
I want to start flashing on this bad boy, but I want to know which roms are stable and have no bugs. I see lots of 4.2.2 and experimental stuff, but I need a fully working phone. Doesn't matter if sense or aosp!
Also, its the s4 processor one

Most ROMs are very stable apart from any of the sense 5 ROMs, try cm10.1 or vipers

Hello all,
Sorry for this daft question, but haven't been on here for months. Just wanted to know the best or most common used ICS rom you guys are using on your Desire S as I'm well behind.
I have a UK phone and was unlocked using htc dev. I only want to upgrade if all features work. Any reccomendations ?
cheers
S-off it for wider costum rom support, and flash Fallout 5. It's on Sense 4, and pretty stable.
Wrong section, reported.
Please keep questions to q&a section.

True, S-OFF it and get whatever ROM in your DS, switch between ROM easily.

I think, one of the most stable and pretty working ICS is Fallout 5.
Used it about few month, all was fine.
Now using Jelly. Not so stable and some functions didnt work correctly, but its faster

well to be honest custom roms arent for everyone, i know its tempting to want to flash a custom rom and see if things are better, but if u r happy with sense then i suggest just use the ruu from htcdev.com to get the official ics update. i have been using it since a couple of weeks and havent had any issues with it other than whatsapp hanging when u try to open link received through whatsapp. other than that its been smotth sailing, better than gingerbread and sense 3
i have used the miui ics rom and didnt like it much other than that i have tried the cyanogenmod 7.2 for desire s but my personal opinion is that custom roms are not always the most stable and if u r not into heavy customization then i would suggest just skip flashing a custom rom and stick with original htc rom.

ICE_DS is the one i choose. Stable and fast, no problems with.
But i think it's time to try Fallout.
Hi,
I guess this question has been asked in the past but there has been alot of development since so asking what is the best ICS or JB ROM for stability (most important) and speed (less important but still needed)?
There has been very little development since two days ago, so why ask the same question again?
Try the ROMs yourself or read the threads please.
Try it yourself btw there is a New ICE DS update to 6.5 feels lot smoother.
Roms constantly gets updated... so all i can tell you is to TRY IT

Check it yourself. And it's in the wrong section

i use the desire XS beta 1.6 , very fast and stable
In my opinion, Paranoid Android 2.x kicks butt. I'm using it for a few months and it's just marvelous! It's very smooth stable and fast...

If you want a jellybean ROM, speed doesn't matter cuz its 'project butter'.
But if you want a custom ROM;
1. CyanogenMod is the most stable. But has the least tweaks.
2. ParanoidAndroid is based on CyanogenMod and it has a little more tweaks compared to CyanogenMod + it has tablet mode. If you have a big device I'd suggest you go for this ROM.
3. AOKP. Best community ever. Amazing guys in the team. If you're on twitter, look for aokp_ROM and follow whatever he follows. Most number of tweaks EVER. Super fast.

Due to the wireless issues i seem to always have with the cynogen roms, I'm probably going back to using a sense based one. Is there one thats nearly stock, or is stock? If not, what do you guys like to use? I want one thats smooth, and doesn't have any issues since this is for my daily driver. Really im curious what everyone likes to use.
There's a few in android development that are stable and jb based

Viper 3.0, very smooth (JB) and stable for me.
See, I tried Viper for a day or so, it just seemed bloated with all the custom software they put into it. It just seemed bogged down.
Newts JB sense 4+ really smooth and nearly bug free(depending on who you ask). No bugs for me though.

Ok, ill have to look into that.

Really? The tweaks are the selling point for me. Where you running the stock kernel? I really like CleanRom but that's all it was, just a clean Rom. I really like ViperXL 2.4.1. Coming from jailbreaking iPhones, Viper personally appeals to me from tweaks alone.
I'm itching to try 3.0.0 though but no Venom tweaks as of yet. How about JellyBam?
ATT HOX Premium App--Stock is fine but modded is Creative
CleanRom and King Cobra
Best sense ROM is tachi91's new jellybean ROM. Then flash the new radio.

I use Viperxl with all the bloat erased and elemental kernel. Very stable and get awesome battery life. No reboots etc.

Hiya Everyone,
Yup another best ROM thread.......
While I love the fact that I can unlock my phone and install a custom ROM, I'm far from a flashaholic. I personally like to install a ROM about once a year, to keep up with the latest release of Android.
Something I've been noticing lately, and it could be a sense thing, is that while most ROM's start out great fast and stable, they seem to degrade over time. Maybe most people don't notice, because they are flashing a new ROM every few months (or days) but for those who want to keep one version around for a while, what's the best one? Is it something potentially stock/non sense?
Thanks everyone,
D5
I use albinoman's CM10.1 since it's release and I'm extremely satisfied with it. I don't like Sense in long term use even though I think it's a beautiful. As time goes by the slow animations start to annoy me.
I think that CM10 by bruce might be a good rom for you =). It is more stable and faster for my sensation than cm10.1 by albinoman. Cm10.1 is also great but for me cm10 is more stable and it does not need to be uptodate all the time. But if you want android 4.2 then cm10 by albinoman ofcourse.
I think that for absolute stabilty the best option is ARHD! A lot of other roms are perfect too but they update frequently and for long terms use this ins't that good i think..
I am using aokp Frankenstein ROM 4.1.2 latest release . It is very stable and does everything I want it to do .

Elegancia Sense 4.1 version. Really stable. Bug free.
I want use CM based too but, that roms have really bad camera.
Viper s. For sure

If u want stock look then go for ARHD I dnt think ne stock Rom vll match this one
For sense 4x go for viperx or elegance
For jb I hve tried CM n results wer good
hit thanks if I hve hlped you

NO "Best Rom"-threads. See Guide sticky.
I'm kind of a newbie, I just know how to flash roms and what not. Are there currently any roms for the One S that have the look of Sense 5 preferably Android 4.2.2. I have found some but there are way too many bugs. I am big wifi tether user, so I need that and camera to definitely work. Also, what is the newest (stable) rom for the One S?
Most stable Rom are the STOCK ROM......
Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 4 Beta
No Sense based 4.2.2 because we haven't got the kernel for that working yet. All Sense 5 ROMs have no working Bluetooth or Wi-Fi tether. I wouldn't consider any third party ROM on here as "stable". Closest thing would probably be CyanogenMod 10.1.
Sent from my One S using xda premium
I'm using UnKnown's Rom, it has sense 5 icons, it is stock plus all the stuff he did to it. The battery life is killer. It's as stable as stock.
