I followed this :-
Step 1 Install Stock JB using Sp tool
Step 2 Install CWM
Step 3 Clean davik cache data
Step 4 Tried 2 install rom .....................NO lewa ROM IS GETTING INSTALLED.......... error is "status 7 Installation aborted"
I haved tried ..........LeWa OS V13.05.24 by- mufti.arfan and LEWA v4 by seshuvedrvu
If i try 2 install a non lewa rom like JMP it works fine!!!!
Any idea what i am doing wrong ?
I tried everything below
Installing CWM recovery 6.0.1.2
Installing CWM recovery 6.0.2.8
Installing TWRP recovery

Hi everyone. I am trying to install Cyanogen mod 10 but can't because of status 7 error(Installation aborted). I have installed CWM-based Recovery 5(this appears in the recovery menu and this file came from the root package). I have Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (GT-P3100).I have tried the following method again and again. I have also read the installing custom roms guide but to no avail.
Here's what i do:
1. Install stock firmware(the ORIGINAL that was present in tab when i bought it)through Odin.
2. Install Clockwork mod through Odin.
3. Reboot
4. Go into recovery mode and install root file from external SD Card.
5. Reboot
6. Go into recovery mod and wipe cache, wipe data\factory reset and then wipe Dalvin(something like this)cache.
7. Try to install Cyanogen mod 10.zip from external SD Card(brings up error)
Note:
I have the Cyanogen mod 10 file in external SD Card in ZIP format i.e. i have not extracted anything out of it. I was reading somewhere that u have to extract the file then u get update.zip and boot.zip. But i get boot.img and no update.zip
Also if the solution to this problem is first installing Cyanogen mod 3.2, then please post the link for my device(Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (GT-P3100)).
1-As i know you should install cwm 6.0.10 to be able to install cm10 version 5 can not let you install it
2-put file in internal sd and use gapps of jelly bean not ics
3- use file specific for p-3100 not any other
4- after flashing cwm 6.0.1.0 via odin enter recovery and make nandroid backup with cwm 6 as backup made by cwm 5 can not be restored by cwm6 so nandroid just in case you want to revert to be safe before flash

To Root our phone with Stock JB installed, first of all we need to first install cwm recovery and then we can root our phone.
so the steps for installing the cwm recovery is as follows
How to flash CWM recovery through sptool.
1. download CWM recovery and sptool. (from link beow)
2. Place the downloaded cwm recovery.img and "MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt" file in the same folder.
3. run sptool.exe
4. select scatter-loading button on the right hand side pannel. and select "MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt" (Please check that all the options of the box containing the list of files are unselected except for the option Recovery, see the attachment)
5. shut down the phone and remove battery.
6. in sptool press download button.
7. then connect your phone to the pc (remember phone should be shutdown status and without battery)
8. Press ok for the next windows containing warning that all the files are not selected.
9. wait for a minute then you'll see the green circle that means you have successfully flash cwm recovery.
Now you are ready to root your micromax a110 with jelly bean.
To Root JB follow these steps
1. download superSU from the link below or from the web (just google it for latest version.)
2. place the superSU.zip in the sdcard.
3. flash superSU through CWM recovery.
4. Reboot and enjoy rooting.

What should I do??
Sir i have rooted my phone(4.0.4) and installed clockworkmod ... now i have to install jelly bean based can samsung s4 rom??? how can i install that rom? should i update to jelly bean (which edition) and install or directly please help me .. i am confused with it
your phone is rooted so u r free..
you can install any rom in your phone there was no query for it....
Sent from my Micromax A110 using xda premium
It does not matter on which ROM you are ....
Once you are rooted and have flashed custom recoveries like CWM or TWRP...you can install any ROM (definitely made for ur mobile ) on ur mobile....
Follow the following steps
1.place the ROM zip file in ur SD card..
2.reboot into recovery mode (cwm or twrp)..
3.wipe data
4.wipe cache
5.wipe system (this erases ur current ROM)
6.do factory reset
7.install the zip
8.fix permissions in recovery after installing the new ROM...
Hit thanks if helped

you should install only android made for micromax A110 only, samsung will not work.
I think you should first install stock android and than any other, to avoid errors..
No matter you are on any ROM untill your new ROM has boot.img in its flashable package and just see that before installing you format system partition from mounts and storage menu of CWM.
If your ROM doesn't have boot.img in it you should flash jb ROM first and proceed to flash new custom ROM Also you can add relavent boot.img to flasable package and proceed to flash on any ROM....

odin uses .tar files not zip files, Try unzipping the .zip you got, be sure its for your device only.

What recovery are you using? This is usually fixed by installing the latest recovery. I recommend TWRP 2.7.0.1
DO NOT flash any custom roms via ODIN. Odin is only for stock roms.
So, flash the latest TWRP for your phone via Odin and try to reflash the custom rom from TWRP.
And don't worry, as long as you can boot in recovery or at least download mode, you're fine
Edit: I searched a bit for a newer recovery for your model and all I could find was this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development/kernel-blazing-kernel-v16-t2275275
Try following the instructions from there to get a newer recovery
i m using CWM recovery v.5
from where i can download latest version of CWM recovery..
i tried it...
but unzipping doesn't convert the zip files into rar files instead it shows two folders..

V5 is too old to work with the latest roms. Use the information from this link to flash a newer recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development/kernel-blazing-kernel-v16-t2275275

Do not attempt to flash custom roms with ODIN.
Odin is only for stock firmware.
