Running those settings since yesterday but would like to see others settings to try out. .....

Gov - Ktoonservativeq
Sched - row
Min/81 max/1458
Screen off set to 486
Undervolted 50 across the board
Everything else is stock, I get around 3 to 4 hrs of screen on time.

Ktoonservative/Noop
Only changes to the following:
boost_hold_cycles = 11
down threshold = 55
down threshold 1 = 40
down threshold 2 = 50
down threshold 3 = 60
sampling rate = 35000
sampling rate screen off = 60000
touch boost cpu = 918
up threshold = 90
up thresh 1 = 65
up thresh 2 = 75
up thresh 3 = 85
voltages uv -25 across the board
screen off profile mhz = 486
screen off gpu max mhz = 320
int. read ahead = 2048
ext read ahead = 2048
Gpu max mhz = 450
Everything else is untouched. Running Omega 3.1 rom. Got 5 hours and 16 mins around there screen on time yesterday. No screen shot. I could've squeezed a few more mins out of it if I wanted to. Testing battery again today with KT's updated kernel from yesterday. Looks very promising. I was getting over 4 hours screen on with a bone stock rom from factory so this phone definitely has great potential. Will post screenies later. I just read someone got over 6 hours screen on time with omega rom and stock kernel.
BTW My kernel settings are geared towards battery life. I don't play any games on my phone so if you see any stutter try lowering the up thresholds. GL everyone.

I will try your settings I'm gearing toward battery life so that should be up my alley is it still smooth

Trying your setting but in regards to them staying inputed after a restart how is that possible the gov input ones i have to input again were as the other things stay put but the stuff need to type in.

Did you select "set options on boot"? It's in the middle of the screen e when you first open ktweaker. Not sure, but I kinda remember ktoonsez said not to do that.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium

Yeah I actually had set on boot should I change to a delay
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium

I would delay it. I set mine to 30 sec. just in case.

I'm running the settings posted in the kernel thread except for my UV. It is set at -20 any lower and I get random freeze and reboots. At 6% and 19 hours I have 3.5 hours of screen on time. Also running mintjelly rom.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app

A lot of people being underclocked or under volted and very few people are just breaking 5 hours of screen time? I achieve around 6 hours with an untouched stock kernel. Are there poor optimization issues with ktoonsez' kernel?

I think it depends on how you use your phone. If your phone spends more time idling you will have less battery for screen on and vice versa. Also screen brightness and actual battery capacities will play a huge role.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app

So anyone running mint jelly v3 getting worse battery life?
I was getting about 5-6 hours on the att room but the international barely gets me over 3 (screen on time that is)

yep... I have profiles set.
but if u can't put scaling on demand then how is it working.
sent from my G2X with no regrets
Correct me if I'm wrong. All scaling does is how the CPU scales itself(to a given formula depending on the profile) for example if using a conservative scale the CPU scales itself by 15mhz depending on the task so if your min is 218 it would go up or down by 15 until it reaches the maximum or min. Since no kernals are available yet for our device it will use the default scaling profile built in. my screen off profile is a Max 218 Min 218 with a priority of 100. Regardless of the scaling profile selected I am forcing the CPU to down clock to that set of perimeters

You are correct in that CPU scales itself based on the parameters Nvidia gave it. In this particular kernel there is only one governer by default (this is why you cannot alter the governor settings) and it's set to Performance Powersave. The scaling driver used according to the source code is tegra_cpufreq. I haven't dug far enough through the code to figure out what that means but it appears most frequencies are in intervals of 24mhz.
so i've been hesitant to use my setcpu. just wondering what everyone set their profiles to. lol

I would attempt three things before seeking any further escalation. First I would try running fix permissions using rom manager /cwm if that doesn't work delete the apk using root explorer and reinstall the software if that doesn't work create a nand backup of your device and start from scratch. Setcpu should work with the tegra2 plus the developer you reach out to regarding this will ask you to do this regardless.

Ok when you guys first start SetCpu (after clean install), what screen do you guys get? And what selection do you make?
When i first boot the phone I have a whole bunch of options to select on which device I use. The first one should be tegra2.

[Q] SetCpu help!!

"Third -(Root Needed) Set CPU. Have had this on my G1 and N1 and it does nothing but save battery. I currently have it set on 216 - 1000 for when the screen is on and the only profile i have is for when the screen is off and it is at 216-216.
(Alternative) Pimp My CPU. I now am using this for my G2x because I am running custom kernal. Personally I like Set CPU better, but do to the fact that Set CPU can't get past 1000 MHz makes it kinda useless for the G2x Tegra 2. "
This is for the thread "Twenty Hour Of Battery Life" When he says he currently has it set on 216-1000, is he using the "Pimp My CPU"? Also where is that set at exactly? Is it set on the "Main-Scaling Driver" When you open up SetCpu? My "Scaling" is greyed out, I can not set it to "OnDemand" or anything, and yes my phone is rooted, it was the first step in that thread. Both Min, and Max go from 122, 128,245, and 528mHZ, so I am confused on this 216-1000? Also When I go to create a profile, and choose "Screen Off", I have the same issue as above, 216-216? What is that??? Be specific, and I am not a stranger to rooting, etc, so help me out, so I can on to the next step and install "Battery Calabration"

Haha What typed is pretty simple to understand. I have the app SetCpu and when you open up, you are at the "Main" Tab, "Scaling" is greyed/blacked out, I can not set it to On Demand or Conservative. My phone is rooted, and SetCpu has Root Access.
Now how come scaling is disabled? Also, when the person who created the thread "Twenty Hour Battery Life" said he currently has it set to 216-1000, what does that mean? how do I set it to that? He also mentioned that he created profile for when the screen is off, and set it to "216-216", I do not understand what that means, and how to set it like that? I created a profile "Screen Off", but I am stuck at how to put it to "216-216"?

On my Nexus One here the only thing I have Setcpu do is when the screen is off it goes to min245 max 384. While using your phone Android regulates your processing power based off of what it needs. While Android does that when the phone sleeps I don't want it going above 384. With my Nexus One I usually get around 18hours + of battery life w/ medium usage. I didn't have my G2x long enough to try out Setcpu but IMO only have setcpu regulate your sleepmode

Why do people keep saying this? I guess the author of the app is lying when he says it is compatible and all the people running it successfully are lying also.

SetCPU does work with the tegra2 but I am not sure if it is playing nice with the custom kernels made by Faux and Morfic, that is why everyone is using Pimp My CPU
SetCPU works for scaling but not overclocking.
A great free app that DOES work with both of those kernels is CPU Master - find it on the market.
Thanks for clearing that up. I knew something wasn't right with set CPU onthis phone

What are your settings for CPU Master for the Tmobile G2X? I want to get 20+hours at least, I am using Battery Calabaration from the Market and I charged the phone to 100%, opened up the app which required root access, tapped battery calaberate, then unplugged it, that was at 130 or 1:40, it is now 5:35pm, and it is at 76%, not lasting at all

That's great battery life considering its a dual core tegra 2 phone which will always suck alot of battery juice . If you want a 20+ hour device then get a blackberry.
Android phones are known battery leeches. Look into a portable battery charger

Setcpu does support tegra in G2X but currently does not support oc'ing. The scaling is greyed out on mine to but doesn't affect it sd i have seen.
So if your looking for settings use these for setcpu
Profile battery < 25%
Max 500
Min lowest
Reason: save battery amd extend phone usage
Profile sceen off
Max 1ghz
Min lowest
Reason: will drop to 216 if not using and is in idle but will jumo up if processing power is needed
Profile general (main screen)
Max 1ghz
Min 1ghz
Reason: makes cpu run full steam when using

Setting the CPU to 400Mhz freezes?

I'm having an issue with my phone not being responsive if I set the CPU to 400Mhz. I first found this problem using Juice Defender then I uninstalled that and did it under SetCPU and it still did the same thing. The phone pretty much doesn't wake up after a while. I have to do a reboot in order for it to work again.
Don't get mad at me but IMHO overclocking and messing with a phones core features (what makes it run, processor, ram, etc.) is unsafe and can cause instability. And no I have no scientific research to back this up but it's just my two cents.

Lol I'm not mad. I don't really like to over clock. I just figured under clocking would work better. But nooooo lol

It does that under 800 mhz I forget why but I've read that in a couple places
Sent from my SGH-I997 using XDA App
underclocking that much is using less than 1/3rd of your true processor power.
your processor simply is not able to draw enough power to perform its background tasks - even when the phone is idle - when you underclock to such an extreme extent. therefore, it freezes trying to complete these processes.
if you're going to underclock, i'd say that 800 MHz is the lowest you can go if you are expecting your phone to do everything it is supposed to do. although it isn't going to save you THAT much battery life anyway, so you might as well just run it at the stock setting of 1200 MHz.

Save much battery.
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda premium
There's a known issue with setting CPU profiles to less than 800 MHz. A fix exists but some kernels don't have it.
Many of our Gingerbread kernels fix it, Infusion-GB is one of the few that hasn't pulled in the fix yet. (Although version 1.1 may have pulled it in, haven't checked github lately.)
None of the Froyo kernels have an explicit fix, but I'm not sure if the flaw even applies to our Froyo kernels as the clocking architecture is VERY different.
Hi, Rogers stock 2.3.3
It's using up 60% battery over night. Most likely I should turn off Wi-Fi.
I have underclocked to 100, 200, and 400 and it's stable --- minus the delay/lag at 100 and 200 . Sorry to seem like a troll.
I find that by default this phone either runs at 100mhz or 1200 on average, and 200 400 800 under 10%

Bumping from 100 to 1200 is classic ondemand governor behavior.
Also, some people never had problems even without netarchy's sleep patch running the CPU capped to 400 - but others have. I don't think anyone has had a problem with a patched kernel.

[Q] Underclocking

Hi Guys,
I've been using custom kernel/ROM for sometimes now, and I hear a lot about overclocking.
And I know that overclocking is "not so good" for the phone. Was wondering whether the same applies for under-clocking also.
Oh, and 1 more question is about decreasing just the "Minimum CPU frequency" to something like 245MHz. Will that be bad for the phone?

Actually the point of underclocking is to use a different frequency, 245 will use a lower frequency than 480. Also, frequency has absolutely nothing to do with wakelocks, 122 will have the same number of wakelocks as 806. You should set the minimum to whatever works for you, some people like 245, some people like 320, some people like 480. Underclocking can't damage the phone, so use whatever works for you.

Are you sure...?Take a look on what fserve posted in his kernel thread:" NOT underclock below 480MHz. Safe undervolting? What's your settings?

What undervolting have people got set with what set up that's still safe and stable... How low can you actually go on the nexus 5?
For example... I'm currently...
Rom: stock with some apps removed
Runtime: ART
User style: just phone and Internet browsing, no games really ever
Kernel: linaro version of franco's
Kernel Settings: stock min and max frequency - 61 vibration amp setting.
Undervolt: - 50 across the board
