I've got a Vibrant running Rem-ICS JB 4.2.1 with the same issue.
Cannot get past the initializing message, despite being able to see the camera working in the background behind the popup.

Saw someone with an S2 having the same problem, even after this last update. Well, I guess we wait!
I have the same phone and am running AOKP ICS. Also having the same issue. Hoping this can be fixed soon or I'm going back to stock!

I doubt it's a kernel issue, other phones are having this problem too. Besides, Vine works on 4.0+ devices only so stock wouldn't work. I guess we just have to wait..
I have a Nexus S (pretty much same hardware) running CM10.1 and I as well have the same issue, still, after the update.
I'm having the exact same problems on my Razr HD running CM 10.1 and I just updated the app today. Hopefully it gers fixed soon.

When is 3G 4G Xoom going to get Ice cream?
i been asking that forever. I don't know what the deal is with Verizon not pushing out updates. I just don't get it. From what I read on Droid life is its ready to go but up to big red to push it out.
Just like the gnexus still stuck on 4.02 first carrier to have the phone last one to push out the ota WoW
Yeah it's very annoying. The problem is Verizon's testing procedures (or so I've been told) are VERY strict. Add to the fact that the Xoom isn't a priority device for VZW anymore, and yeah...we continue to wait. The WiFi-only Xoom has had ICS since December, and (again, so I've heard), Google had the ICS ROM for the 3G/4G Xoom ready not long after that. To add further insult to injury, Google and VZW pushed out an update to the 4G Xoom in February that was just a Honeycomb update (3.2.6) to fix data connectivity coming out of airplane mode. Annoying.
With the Galaxy Nexus, at least two 4.0.4 builds have been pushed to devices as part of a soak test (IMM30B and IMM76K), but neither made the cut apparently. But since they went out over the air, we have the files and can run those if we want to. With the Xoom, there hasn't even been so much as a soak test, that we're aware of anyway.
I wish I knew as well.
I've tried all of the custom ROMs and have had problems with each one. I've gone back to the Honeycomb stock ROM in each instance. As snappy & nice as the ICS is with the custom ROMs, the stock Honeycomb has been the most stable ROM ever, imho. I'm very excited about ICS coming out, but only if it's as rock solid as Honeycomb is. I'll wait a couple of more months so that VzW can get it right the first time.
Definitely. That Honeycomb 3.2.6 stock ROM is solid as a brick ****house. That's why I love it.
Don't know about you but I have had ICS on my Xoom for a while. Thanks Team EOS. And it is much better than anything Verizon would put out.

The stock ROM on the Verizon Xoom is still created and updated by Google. It just needs VZW approval before it gets released. TeamEOS isn't stable enough for my liking. Tried playing SimCity lately?

What's wrong with SimCity? (I don't game, so I'm really asking.)
Is the real issue perhaps merely that the game's not ICS-tablet-aware?

It freezes constantly. It'll run fine, then all of a sudden just hang forever, giving you the wait/force close dialog box. I don't think it's an ICS or app issue since people running stock ICS on the WiFi Xoom say it works fine.

Interesting. I haven't seen any indications of that in the main EOS threads.
Did you see anyone else collaborating this issue? Were you overclocked at all? Also, at one point we switched to overclocking the GPU by default, and I wonder if that's the issue (after all, my kernel improvements wouldn't have made any difference to a game, and we're nearly stock in anything else that matters).
I wasn't overclocked. OC always makes me nervous! Could be with the GPU...not sure. What I do know is that the issue was still there as of the stable 2.0.0 release.

Uh, didja maybe check here on XDA?
My answer is "never." VZW will never release ICS for this thing. It was seriously doomed from the start.
That said, EOS has created an excellent stingray rom. Again, STINGRAY. And again, EXCELLENT rom. I'm not playing SimCity, but the Sims works very well and since the app was updated, it works even better. It was freezing on restart but now it doesn't do it anymore, which is something to say about how solid EOS' rom is--a problem with the app and not the rom.

Oh dear, not this again. Last year it was "We'll never get LTE" and/or "We'll never have writable SD-Card". It's obvious the tech is there, most likely it's due to either compliance issues (and with VZ that probably means they're trying to lock something down or take something away in the ROM they're intending to release ... the bastards) or they're waiting 'till some as-yet-unannounced LTE tablet(?) device comes out first. Apparently there's a ROM in testing at VZ, if the leaked screenshot has any credibility.

Yes I got it for the Galaxy Nexus today also. I guess it will start to push after the dust has settled for the phone and the Nexus 7 .
Will probably be a month, most likely two til an official OTA for the wifi xoom. Only the source code is out right now. Motorola still need to add their drivers and other proprietary things first before a true OTA can happen. Hence why cameras and such don't work on the ROMs out now. Incompatible driver. Took Motorola about two months after ICS source code dropped to release the full OTA. I think the same time window for this too. They need to test it first with a soak test.

My camera works fine? What rom are we talking about?
I saw in a JB thread someone saying their camera or the special effects weren't working and a few others agreed. Solarnz or another Dev said that's cause they won't have the needed parts for that until the real Motorola release.
I'm holding off on flashing JB myself for a good week. I jumped on ICS and 3.2 immediately when solarnz and EOS dropped em, like the day they dropped. And I had little issues. But I will wait a week or two with JB...mainly cause it is the apps out there that need to be updated to work with it...not really the ROM.

Fri 3-30 am: soak test ending
Installed team eos jb build 83 on my mz601everything seams to be working fine. The stock web browser is more fluid so is the system ui. Some of my games also improved in terms of the occasional stutter that I had before when I was on ICS. As of now it is still running on a kernel based on tiamat ICS.

Is there a page that lists the known issues with the official CM10 nightlies on our GS3? I'm running it and haven't run into anything. Considering using it as my daily, but want to know what I might run into. Also, is there any Jelly Bean ROM that is 100% stable for our GS3's yet?
I just read you can sometimes follow the developer, does anyone know who that might be?

I can tell you that the 8/25 nightly breaks the dialer. 8/23 was working quite nicely, though. Only thing that was flaky for me was the bluetooth stopped auto connecting in my car.

Some informal tracking is going on in ^this thread.
Official/Nightly CM10 is still suffering from occasional screen flicker (never did get that one resolved on MY phone) and the odd hot reboot now and again. Tell you what though... It was a lot smoother than ICS.
Unfortunately the S3 is my daily driver so I'm back on SynergyROM for the moment.

Let us know!
I want this issue narrowed down. Let's please post current rom that the bug is present on, any rom that it is working on, and any possible fixes (other than adjusting settings!?! ).
So far I've read reports throughout the aosp threads that the audio is broken on the receiving side of the call (the person you called cannot hear you, but you can hear them). This is known to be the case on liquid, carbon, and rootbox.
I'm currently running liquid 2.4 and can confirm the bug is present. I currently do not have a fix, nor have I heard of one.

I was using Liquid Rom as well!
I read somewhere(cannot remmber where) but any AOSP based ROM will not work.
Currently only Touchwiz(TW) Roms work.
So I had to flash a TW Rom, and confirms it works!

Again, great info. Didn't know it was across the board on all S3's.
Same problem here, both myself and my friend are having problems on our rooted AT&T SIII's running custom roms
I am running RootBox Nightly 20130514 on Verizon S3. I was absolute that my girlfriend was doing something wrong when she kept telling me she couldn't hear me. Glad to see I was wrong and there is an actual issue. Has anyone seen a fix for this posted? I guess I could flash over to a TW ROM. I haven't had TW since my phone came out of the retail box...
Glad this issue is being reported and seen by many.
No fix still
I went ahead and put back TW. Using Cleanrom now. Google hangouts works just fine. BUT I miss 4.2.2 and AOSP
Same issue here, using LiquidRom 2.3.2 and KT747 5/9 kernel
Looks like this will be fixed in tomorrow morning's nightly.

I was just surprised when I came across the Xt1080mdev
PACman nightly build and I didnt hear any news about it like the CM11 nightlies. Was never really expecting to much support for the droid maxx so any is appreciated... Thank you PACman devs!
EDIT: and at least they support active display
Bugs found so far... anyone else?
I have had the PacMan ROM installed for the past week since unlocking & rooting my Maxx.
I have found when in a phone call and using speakerphone if you try to switch back to regular handset use it will mute audio and freeze the touchscreen and buttons from working. The phone call stays active but the other person can't hear you though you can hear them. The only remedy was to reset holding down + power.
I have been able to recreate this issue three times now.
Other then that I have only had two crashes where is says something to the effect of, "something failed blame it on split screen"
This has happened twice usually when quickly switching between apps or menus.
HAs anyone had any other issues?
ROM used:
pac_moto_msm8960dt-nightly-20140303
...and while I was typing this I saw there are new nightly builds. :silly:
Still it would be nice to know if anyone has this issue on a later nightly build.
