[Q] Do you hear any difference with Beats? - Asus Transformer TF700

I've enabled everything and set the effects to their max settings but I can't hear any difference with Beats? This is thru the tablet's speakers and headphones and bluetooth.

I agree with you. I use the DSP manager instead because it will actually have an effect when you enable the compressions, bass booster ,etc. At first I thought you were talking about the headphones .

I'm going to uninstall Beats and use that thing you said.

Think it more so applies to using through headphones. When i use my headphones with it and alter the settings It's very much noticeable

DSPManager

Has anybody tried getting DSPManager going on a Transformer? It's included with some phone roms and I love it. Requires root, and I think installing it can be a little complex, so maybe this would be more suited for the Development section. Feel free to move it.

Would love to see it too

I thought about it but all I really wanted was a volume booster and got that from Volume+
EEE Pad Transformer sent this
here it is from my Nexus S haven't had a chance to use it on my pad yet but let me know
Edit: its works perfectly and sounds amazing, moderate bass boost with equalizer custom set to 5 all across
Works perfectly, no root required. Thanks a billion!

Thaaaaaaannnnkkkkkk you!
Comparing the tablet to the (rooted) Evo with DSP was horrible. No more tinny music through my Ultimate Ears.
Hey Guys, want to try this, but I remember with my Desire, there was also an accompaning file named something like "lbaudioflinger.so" that went in /system/lib.
Reports of success above are good though, so I'll prolly just Nandroid an try it out. Just wanted to verify that we're not missing anything.
Thx for posting this too!

Voodoo?

I'm curious as to what voodoo is. I keep hearing its name and I kind of understand it. Would it boost my speaker volume? I don't listen to music on my phone as I have an iPod for that. So would I benefit from this? How do I go about adding it? I am on HellFire 1.8 bye too. I'm sorry if this has been asked already I did a search and didn't see anything.

If you don't listen to music on your phone, it doesn't really make a difference for you. On the G2x, it just increases headphone volume. But if you did want it, install Voodoo control from the Market, plug in some headphones, and enable it. From there, you can increase the Max dB settings to increase/decrease volume.

Thanks for the quick reply. Do you have any suggestions for a good and safe volume boost? My speakers seem really quiet.

Not just volume...it also changes the dynamics of the sound production.... http://project-voodoo.org/

On Galaxy S phones, it has a huge increase in sound quality. On the G2x, it only affects volume, based on personal experience. From the Market description:
Market description said:
Introduces LG Optimus 2x and T-Mobile G2x support.
‪11.‬Sound quality is not yet optimal on these devices: needs a lot of work to fix LG issues in their audio implementation and then add more quality optimizations.

volume+ for boost on speakers I believe, and ya I only notice volume with voodoo with headphones no real sound improvements in my opinion.
The DSP Manager lets you tweak the sound as well and I noticed a big improvement in quality using that. It comes with HFP
Pin it to Win it.
Don't give false info...u can't just install the app. You have to have a kernel that enables it. The app just controls it

From the Market for Voodoo Sound app.
Description
This app controls Voodoo sound for Galaxy S, Nexus S phones Galaxy Tab and Asus Transformer running custom kernels implementing Voodoo patches.
If you don't want or cannot flash a kernel, my commercial app "Voodoo Control Plus" has the ability to load Voodoo Sound with only root.
Stock CM kernel does not support Voodoo, but Faux's does.
Just FYI

The only benifit to the g2x that i know of is the increase in dB which is helpful for using with a tape player adapter in a car stereo and driving headphones with slightly higher Ohms.
Also, I get louder volume on the tape adapter which helps with avoiding static by not having to turn the volume up so high.

Beats Audio and xLoud mod

Just a heads up to those who may not know, there is a Beats Audio/xLoud mod/port on the board and it works on the Atrix 2. Beats adds a deeper, cleaner bass and cleans up the mids/highs too. xLoud is a Sony Ericsson thing, it basically boosts the overall volume of ur audio. I just flashed this mod to my phone and holy ****, huge difference! I had to turn all my volumes down media/ringer/alarms. My good cans are packed (moving this weekend) so no testing with them yet but after hearing the difference I just heard with only the phone speaker I'm expecting to be very happy.

where is the xloud .zip file?
Whoa - déjà vu!
xLoud is included in the zip.
Audio volume really is increased overall (I too had to turn everything down) and the beats makes the bass sound sweet!

Maybe its just me, but I can't seem to find a difference in quality using the car dock. Audio goes out the car docks 3.5mm jack to my Volvo s60r's stereo. I was hoping for some more volume.

Yes you can, it will just overwrite the one you just installed.

Tried this tweak last week and it's great. My highs have come alive and it sounds much cleaner.
So how does the mod affect the Motorola stock equalizer?
I'm assuming the beats audio is only effective in the My Music app? So do I have to disable the "Effects" in settings to hear the Beats Audio? Or should I switch that to custom?
This work well seems crisper...... Did notice if the bass is overpowering the mids and lows go to sound settings and un-tick enable audio effects..... For me with headphones will set effects enabled effects profile custom surround ambient eq bass punch WOW!!!!!

Mine are....I have had to turn all my volumes down since installing this mod. I haven't done any critical listening since I don't use my phone like that anyway, I was just hoping for louder system sounds and that's exactly what I got. The Beats is just an added bonus.
Ok are we supposed to download the one that says older zip files test301.zip or the allandroidzip.zip that looks to be the newest?

Yea these are some of the same complaints I've heard about the actual beats headphones because they're made really for more hip hop songs and not a wide range of music the highs are where those headphones usually suffer IMO

Audio quality with headphones

I have read several threads on the quality of the speakers and their output.
How is this tab with headphones? I will be using headphones 99% of the time.
EDIT...I posted this in the wrong forum by mistake can a mod move this?
For my taste the sound is more than good enough for the average user (like me).
I've used my tablet with some old razor headset so you'll probably be satisfied unless you're some serious audiophile and maybe even then.

I think it sounds great. It is a different sound. Gotta get use to it. Kinda like in a studio. No echo or surround sound. Its crisp. Bass is deep. I'm using Bose QC3.

Audio on asus tf101 is Terrible!

For some reason my tf101 has terrible audio quality and is not very load my droid x phone is 1.5x louder than my tablet and compared to my droid x the audio quality when plugged in with headphones is terrible choppy and tinny. An equalizer does nothing :crying:
Any help would be appreciated.
Try the KAT Audio app. It helps considerably. You can find it in the development forum.
