So I just downloaded an app that will edit my kernel. It supports my phone. At 1.5 ghz it says my clock speed is 1512000. What would I put in to make it 1.7? I assume 1700000 is wrong. lol

iam using axura rom 2.5 which uses setirons 1.4.3 kernel..
i saw on the kernel page that we can OC upto 1.6ghz but when i open my SetCpu or Voltage control it shows only clock speeds upto 1.2ghz..i cant go beyond that..can someone tell me how to go beyond that!
You need to flash one of his kernels from the thread that supports higher clock speeds. Then follow the instructions in his op that explains how.

overclock my phone the battery gets pretty hot can I break my phone it is at 806
Unless your on Froyo 2.2, and you installed a custom kernel your not OC'd. 806 is the stock clock for the phone. Your phone should not be getting hot. Are you rooted? What Rom are you running? Did you confirm the clock speed with SetCPU Speed or something similar? When I was running Froyo my device was OC'd to 1.6gHz for daily.
806 mhz is stock clock speed it should not overheat at all what I would do is run the Froyo RUU and see if it still overheats. I had the same issue with my first shift (ive been through 3) and they said alot of people were having the issue with earlier versions
I am rooted but not full temporary root and am 2.3.3

then you can't overclock till we can root and change stuff.
On 2.3 if you took the update, or recevied the device that way. There is no way to OC or Full Root at the moment. We have to wait for the Source Code Kernel.
hye folks,
i have rooted my asus transformer and installed prime1,9. I also tested the psx emulator with tekken 3 but the games lags so i thougt to increase the cpu from 1 ghz to 1,2 ghz can some tell what i have to do ..

Use the seach button and read the kernel threads.
Rule #1
dude i searched allot but i only found kernels for 1,4 ghz or 1,6 ghz i realy need 1,2 cus that is the one that is most stable

You set the kernel speed to what you want with setcpu or something like it. These kernels tell you what the max is. You can set it however you want.
You obviously have no understanding or concept of what you want to do.
Therefore i suggest you dont do it.
i know exactly want i want, but it is so confusing cus i followed this how to
http://eeepadhacks.net/transformer-hacks/how-to-overclock-your-eeepad-transformer-to-1-6ghz/
after i installed the kernel and rebooted it freezed and i rebooted several times but it kept freezing.
So can you offer me some help so that i can overclock tot 1,2 ghz
flashing kernels is easy, making sure they're compatible can be tough. for you running Prime 1.9 I suggest clemsyns latest kernel. I think he's up to 21 now. you can find his tread in development. just also know that if the kernel flashing doesn't go well you can always reflash your rom to return to a kernel that works. once your new kernel is installed you need to install an app to regulate your CPU frequencies. I recommend setcpu which can be acquired on xda for free. I'm not going to post the link, just search for it, I believe its in android general forums. other than that you can search the market for overclock and choose from the many options available, just know that some programs might not work for the transformer.
EDIT: make sure to get clemsyns "b" kernel unless you have installed voodoo sound separately.
thnxx for the replay i wiil try the other romm

Depends. In my case using Prime 1.9.1 with the "official" overclock kernel I can use in perfect stability 1.6ghz. Last time I gave a try to a clemsyns kernel (v9 maybe?) I could get stability only up to 1.2ghz..... it kinda varies between the kernel, rom and specific machine as some might work better than others.
Also as already said, just get a kernel that works with your rom and set it at the clock you want using SetCPU or another app.
Great work ! you helped me all out, now i overclocked to 1,2 ghz succesfully and i can play tekken 3 without any lag thnx to you !
Will using Setcpu allow me to overclock the cpu on rooted stock 4.0.4 or does the stock kernel not allow it?
Use the oc method from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1648421
@Mtn - While not wanting to deviate from the OP, correct me if I am wrong but OP mentions stock 4.0.4 whereas your link points to ScV7 based on ics leak for the OC method. So will it work?
Also would appreciate if you could advise which one is better, SetCPU, AnTuTu CPU Master, Android Overclock (J Rummy). My primary question is after ICS OTA the Cpu has automatically scaled up to 1200 so what will be the safest OC value therefore without destabilizing the system?

Those overclock modules will work on any ics version for the A2. Rdavict's flashable zip is the easiest method. Personally i use nofrills cpu and as far as oc values that differs from chip to chip. My first A2 would do almost 1.4 while my new one gets flaky after 1.3
Go here and at the bottom of the first post download the tweakerz alpha app.with it you can adjust clock speed and voltage quickly but it wont stick through a reboot. So if you set a bad oc you wont be sol

:good: Noted all @ Mtn..very insightful and needs much reading before I can start asking any questions

That app sure makes it simple.
Hey guys, im just wondering, does antutu benchmark know that you overclocked your device? because when i look under info, it still says its 1ghz, when i set it to 1.3 ghz.
also, how do you know if you flashed a kernel, and it worked? i flashed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069166 icsv28b, but im not sure if it worked. kk thanks!

Antutu will always say in device properties that you have a 1,0 GHz cpu, but in test results it says the actual speed at which you're on.
The processor clock usually jump around. You would be familiar with that, as x86 CPUs with Cool'n'Quiet (formerly PowerNOW!) or SpeedStep change clock upon demands of resource in the PC. They do the same thing.
