Hi,
I just extracted the latest USB driver (USB_Acer_1.0_USB_A700 A701), but there are Windows XP, Vista and 7 drivers inside only.
i tried to install the Windows 7 driver on Windows 8 64-bit, but had no success...
The one that isn´t working is the "USB composite device" driver.
I need any Acer Windows 8 USB 64-bit drivers for Android 4.0...
Will Acer release a Win 8 driver for the A700 in near future?
Hi,
You should try installing the Android SDK, which has general Android drivers inside them.
Connect your Acer device onto your computer.
Install the Android SDK and once the program has started, it'll (down)load and show you all the Android versions and tools.
Make sure you have only selected the checkboxes "Android SDK Platform Tools" and "Google USB driver". Now click on the right bottom button labeled: "Install packages".
Select the radio button: "Accept All" and click "Install".
Now click with the right mouse button on Computer, click Manage. Go to Device Manager. Right click Acer A700, click update driver software.
Choose "Browe my computer for driver software". Choose "Let me pick from a list".
Click all devices or/and Have disk..
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\extras\google\usb_driver\ and click the file under the 2 folders (android_winusb.inf)
Click on the first one and install.
Good luck and let me know if you succeed.
Edit:
You can skip the first part and download the Google USB driver I uploaded:
http://www55.zippyshare.com/v/1434863/file.html
Thank you very much it worked for me!
Thanks for the re-upload but there appears to be a problem with the contents of the zip file. When I try to extract it, I get this message: " the archive is either in unknown format or damaged". Could you download it yourself, or anyone,& see if you get that message.
Cheers.
EDIT: Thanks Tom for re-uploading again. It extracted OK this time. Unfortunately, I have had to send my A510 tablet in for repair, the charge light stopped working. I must admit to some ignorance in what to do with the unzipped files, as there is no installer for it, unlike a typical install of a USB driver. Perhaps you, or anyone, could educate me a bit?

Sure thing,
I explained it a little in my previous post, but I will try to explain it a little better this time.
1. Click with the right mouse button on Computer.
2. Click Manage.
3. Go to Device Manager.
4. Right click Acer A700 (or A510, OR anything that looks like an unknown android device), click update driver software.
5. Choose "Browe my computer for driver software". Choose "Let me pick from a list".
6. Click all devices or/and Have disk..
7. Go to the (extracted) folder you used from my upload in the previous post (usb_driver) and click the file under the 2 folders (android_winusb.inf)
8. Click on the first one and install.
Now Windows will recognise your tablet.
If you still don't get the hang of it, check out this video I found on Youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbXatmo4QBU
The video may seem a bit dull, but it's actually useful if you really can't find any of the things I explained.
In the video, the "woman" explains on how you can find the Device Manager, on another way I explained.
Follow the instruction in the video until Step 8, which means you shouldn't follow step 8 but continue from my instruction from step 5.
Good luck!
Ps. If you really really don't get to install it, I would like to offer to do it for you (no charge, if that even was a question), if you trust a complete stranger on the internet (but you can abort any time). Just PM me.
Thanks. I will do this when my A510 returns from repair. It is waiting for a part to arrive from overseas, so don't know when it will return.

The A510 has returned. I have tried to install your driver but have no success.
At step 6, I get presented with "Show All Devices". I am shown a list of Manufacturers & Models. I choose nothing & click "I Have Disk".
I navigate to your folder & click on android_winusb.inf
I then click on "Install From Disk" button. I am then shown the option "Select The Device Driver You Want To Install For This Hardware".
There are 3 items shown: 1. Android ADB Interface, 2. Android Bootloader Interface, 3. Android Composite ADB Interface.
I choose number 1 as that is the one I beleive you mean in your option 8.
I click "Next" & get a warning about "Installing This Device Is Not Recommended Because Windows Cannot Verify That It Is Compatible With Your Hardware". I continue the install & after about a minute, I get this message "Windows Found Driver Software For Your Device But Encountered An Error While Attempting To Install It"... and..."Android ADB Interface".... and...."This Device Cannot Start (Code 10)".
The Device Manager now shows Unknown Device as "Android Phone".
Await your reply but am thinking about reinstalling Windows 7 & leaving Win 8 until I get a touch screen laptop & Acer Tablets get a USB driver for Win 8. Acer say they are on the way but can't/won't give me a date.
Windows 8 is an annoyance on my 4 year old Asus N50Vn laptop.
Without drivers, can you still access the SD?
@theoldfarter
That's odd, but can you try choosing the third option: 3. Android Composite ADB Interface.?
Maybe the drivers I uploaded are out of date in Windows 8 and you should try installing the Android SDK.
Install the Android SDK and once the program has started, it'll (down)load and show you all the Android versions and tools.
Make sure you have only selected the checkboxes "Android SDK Platform Tools" and "Google USB driver". Now click on the right bottom button labeled: "Install packages".

I am wondering if it has to do with the A510 being upgraded to Jelly Bean (4.1.2)?
Here is a fellow who has Jelly Bean & Windows 7, where once he had updated to Jelly Bean, his Win 7 doesn't see the tablet anymore. His name is papyb & his post is the second up from the bottom, on page 2 here: EDIT, can't post the link. Darn the rules. lol.

Googled it & now know what you mean. That option is for Windows 7.
I use windows 8 & Google tells me this about it:
"7) Disable driver signature enforcement
The Disable driver signature enforcement option allows non-signed drivers to be installed in Windows 8.
This startup option can be helpful during some advanced driver troubleshooting tasks."
I will try this but when I tried installing the driver as per Tom's instructions, the driver in question said it was digitally signed.

That won't work 'cause the driver can be installed, only it's not starting.
Do you have USB Debugging turned on in the Developer Options?

Did not have that turned on. Done so but makes no difference. I have just discovered that my built-in camera is not working with Win 8, Skype says there is no camera installed. It worked with Win 7. I am thinking that the "unknown" device in Device Manager is the camera, not my tablet.
No wonder I can't install the driver to it. lol.
With the tablet not connected, I uninstall the "unknown" device & then scan for changes & it shows it again.
It looks like the A510 is not recognised by Win 8 as anything, period.
I have had enough of Windows 8. It is causing more problems than it is worth. In a couple of days, I will reinstall Windows 7 & start over.
Will report back when all has finished, which may be in 6 days time.
Thanks for your help so far.
A700, mass storage and Windows 8

I would like this link as well. Since I've updated my a510 to JB 4.1.2, my computer doesn't detect it when I plug it in via USB. I can plug a USB stick into the tablet and it sees that, but when connecting to PC, nothing at all. USB debugging is also turned on. Would love some assistance with this.
http://www55.zippyshare.com/v/1434863/file.html
This is the USB driver.
When clicking on start and entering "device manager", a new screen will pop-up showing you all the connected devices. Somewhere you should see Unknown, Fastboot, ADB, Android device/phone, A700 or Acer. Install it with the USB driver.
Note for everybody:
If it is NOT working, try to find Android Phone in the categories list when installing the driver. That one might work too if my solution doesn't work.
dis method helped me...!

Tassos, can you please describe the steps you followed ?
Also verify or better upload the appropriate files to an upload server like rapidshare.
1) I changed the usb connection to debugging mode from settings of my tablet [AT300SE-101]
2) I installed the toshiba's WinUsb Driver [successfully installed]
3) I executed the motochopper's script run.bat and responded as this
deamon not running.starting it now on port 5037 *
deamon started successfully
stays here and nothing more !!

If you get this message and stack, then the adb driver is not installed correctly.
Connect the tablet to the computer.
Go to device manager, find an unknown device, right click and select update driver, select browse the computer for the driver and guide it to the folder you placed the adb driver.
When the unknown device mark is gone, you are ready to try again.
Use the following Motochopper http://mirror21.downloadandroidrom.com/download/GalaxyS4/root/motochopper.zip?token=

Hi
I already did this and win7 recognise the device as android Device --> Android ADB Interface. It says that this device works just fine.
Model Number AT300SE
Android version 4.1.1
Kernel version 3.1.10-00037-g59264fc
Build number JRO03C.000122808.95
Despite of that, in my computer device list i dont see anything only in the device manager as described before.
PS:How to work with ADB wifi ?

So I decided to resurrect this old tablet and turn it into a digital photo-frame. Decided just to reset it to factory settings. Easily done. I noticed there were no firmware updates. It is stuck on Jellybean. That can't be right, surely. A tablet that doesn't update to at least one new Android update!!
Hello all,
I have installed android sdk, google usb drivers etc. I am using windows Xp. My phone is upto date as per the Sony PC companion installed in windows. When I try to connect my phone in usb debugging mode to adb, its not showing up. when I give adb devices it doesn't list any devices.
when I give adb shell, it says device not found. I tried all methods like kill-server, start-server and killing adb.exe etc. after I went thru the existing threads in this forum. Nothing works !!
And the interesting thing that I could not figure out is about the device manager. After I try all methods it says drivers not installed. I try to install google usb drivers as well by browsing the folder in my android sdk . It was displaying like 'nothing found to install'
Any ideas please ??
One update.
Google usb drivers were not being installed correctly. When I update driver and browse to the Android SDK folder where the Google USB drivers present (My case .... Android SDK-> Extras-> Google -> usb_driver) it says 'nothing to update'
Then I edited android_winusb.inf file there and included my device ID (as showing up in Device manager). And it installed the drivers.
Then I opened adb again. And gave 'adb devices' and finally I could see my device listed !!!!
But still one major problem exists. That the device is getting disconnected continuously from adb and each time I would have to restart the adb and this makes it useless....
Not able to figure out why ...
Try using this: adbdriver . c o m
If it does not work try flashtool's drivers
Hi!
I most probably hard bricked my Xperia J (ST26i latest stock ROM, rooted, locked bootloader) when switching and re-switching and re-reswitching... internal and external storage.
The phone is off and I can't switch it on. When I try to charge it there's no reaction (LED not turning yellow/green/anything). So, I'm quite sure that this device is gone for good, BUT:
When I plug it in to my laptop it is listed in the device manager - as COM & LPT device: "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008. Pressing vol+, vol- or <Power> doesn't change a thing. I've had no hardware issues before but somehow Windows recognizes the phone as a ...printer? now.
Sony Companion or fastboot don't find the phone.
Can you help me to bring my phone back to life again?
in flash mode, does it working???
Here I found something.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-j-e/general/xperia-jst26i-roms-kernels-mods-how-tos-t2237164
and go to Stock ftf's section.
"Flash mode" - that's the thing I have to access by pressing vol+ or vol- when plugging the phone in, right? How do I get into flash mode?
The only thing that happens when I connect the phone with my laptop (and pressing vol+ / vol-) is that it's shown as "LPT device" in the device manager. "Adb devices" command shows nothing when the phone is connected.
Okay, so first, Remove the Drivers detected on your Xperia J. So, It will detect Unknown device.
Now, Install the proper driver(like flashmode drivers, adb drivers, and fastboot drivers) of your Xperia J. Google it to find.
Make sure the Drivers Installed properly.
Click the link that I given to you for the firmware and flashtool.
and follow the guide of the forum.
To open flashmode, press Vol-- button. This will lightup green led.
To open fastboot mode, press the Vol + button. This will lightup blue led.
Hope it helps!
Xperia J is not QPST based but the chipset is Qualcomm.
---------- Post added at 06:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:18 PM ----------
My Xperia E and your Xperia J are the same but the firmware is different.
Thank you!
I'm using Win10 x64. The thing is: I removed my Xperia from the device manager as well as the drivers. Then I installed the drivers you mentioned. After plugging in the device again my Xperia is recognized as "unknown device" like you said. But after a few moments it is listed as "LPT device" again, automatically. Trying to change the driver and install the ADB driver manually doesn't work.
So, still no improvement.
Oh, the adb driver is only from Debugging or some features like Fastboot. The Flashmode driver is different of adb driver. So, I recommend to you to Install this driver to your pc.
https://dl.developer.sonymobile.com...endpoints/cloudfront/create/&nonce=bd40945b0a
When the drivers are now Installed, Do not connect your Xperia J first. Remove the Existing LPT Detected to your Xperia J.
Now on Sony Mobile flasher, or the C:\Flashtool\drivers, open the Flashtool-drivers.exe
Next, tick the Flashmode Drivers, Fastboot Drivers, and Common drivers JDM-Platform board. Install the drivers of it!
When sudden Driver Installation failures, you need to do this.
http://windowsreport.com/driver-signature-enforcement-windows-10/
Connect your Xperia J to your pc, when changes to LPT, update the driver and select the folder for Xperia J driver. (Download/Flashmode mode)
And wait until it Changes into S1 boot download. Now your'e ready to go to flash the ftf!
Thanks for your detailed instructions. Unfortunately, I'm a bit stupid.
So I downloaded the flashmode drivers you mentioned. They consist of some (packed) *.dll, *.inf and *cat files. How can I install these files without an executable or the phone being plugged in? To which folder should I copy the files?
Furthermore, the Xperia flashtool drivers setup offers many drivers like flashmode drivers and fastboot drivers (which I "ticked" both, of course) but the common drivers for Xperia J are not available. I've read that Xperia J is not supported with the Sony flashtool. Should I pick the driver of some other device? Which one?
I appreciate your help! Maybe you can continue a little further

No. A huge of help is on you. Here I attach some examples. Go to Start->Windows System->Control Panel
Click the View by: Category tab and click Large Icons
And select Device Manager
Connect your Xperia J in Flashmode(Vol - +connect)
When it detects, select that driver detected by your computer..
Double click that device and select Driver tab(*as I exampled the SPD U2S driver.)
Click the Update driver... And you see like popup window.
Select Browse my computer for driver software->Browse(*I extract the zip on the Desktop folder to make easier. :good: )
Locate the Xperia J driver.
Click Next
Select so0101 driver. Done! now ready to open the flashtool!
Flash the Stock ftf rom.
Allright, there was a little misunderstanding. Sorry for that. At least I understand what to do now.
I'm still stuck with installing the driver. Win10 x64 tells me that the driver is not compatible or not available with my system. Disabling the driver signature check didn't help.

Okay, It really stucks. My Xperia E is dead last week. So, I experienced your situation on your Xperia J. It really hurts. Mine is only detecting Qualcomm ><><blah blah<><>< listed in COM&Ports. Not S1_BootDownload. I replaced the unknown driver with S1_Bootdownload, It says "The detected device is stopped working. And then, BOOM!! Maybe It really needs to repartition the eMMC of my Xperia E. :crying:

I have a Windows 7 64 bit system and I am trying to find drivers to access an rca rct6703w13
I have tried every driver I can find and nothing seems to work does anyone know something that will work?
I would be very grateful if anyone could help?
Thank You
Oh boy, I still remember this pain trying to find and use such drivers on Windoze:
- try another port
- try another cable
- try this driver or that one
- try doing a rain dance with 3 days old undies on your head, and turn only clock wise, unless it's full moon, then turn counter clockwise but stop briefly after ever two and a half turns
Maybe, as workaround, you could boot from a linux CD and try your approach from there.
Whenever I flash from my debian, it works: If "fastboot devices" still doesn't show anything then usually I have forgotten to plugin the cable
By using my "Yet Another Universal ADB Driver" Package (see the link in my signature) one can remove all the old adb drivers if that is the issue, but this case seems to be more interesting...
On win10 it seems that the adb is embedded to the winusb driver the same or similar way (registry wise) that my package is using. Now that I have tested, the behavior is similar with my devices. When using file transfer connection the adb is not recognized. With others, charging, photo, midi the abd works fine. To make adb work with file transfer one have to install the correct driver. In this case google's general driver could be okay, one match for vendor and product ids in it ...
https://dl.google.com/android/repository/usb_driver_r13-windows.zip
What I tested using virtual win7 64bit, it seems to behave the same way... which is a bit weird as I've tested it with my driver package. Worked okay then I think. The Android device used has changed since though.. It worked on win10 back then too.. the change has to have happened later.. or I didn't use file transfer..
@steadfasterX 's maid or salt or whatever it's called nowadays might be usable in this case. It's a Linux having SP flash tool etc. available..
edit: tested and it turned out that the updated phone is the problem... using another phone my driver package worked as expected..
@resxwni01
1. Don't confuse USB-driver and ADB-driver: the USB-driver since ever is by default part of any OS, so also of Windows OS. The ADB-driver is an extra protocol what allows you to communicate with a phone's Android ecosystem via an USB-connection.
2. Latest generic ADB-driver ( correct: ADB client ) got released August 2022 and is officially versioned 33.0.3.
3. AFAIK a 64-bit version of ADB-driver doesn't exist.
With regards to install this ADB-driver on a Windows 7,8.1,10,11 PC:
It's NO USB-driver installer - as introduced above by @CXZa - needed what unnecessarily bloats the Windows registry with crap.
You
1. simply create on any mounted drive of Windows PC a folder named "ADB",
2. extract there to the 3 files what are in the attached ZIP file,
3. add path of created folder "ADB" to Windows environment variable PATH, thus ADB-driver is systemwide accessible -
how to is described here
How to Set the Path and Environment Variables in Windows
Information on how to set the path and environment variables in Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.
