[Q] Sound lagging in videos, skype, youtube and while playing songs but not in games - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

A strange problem... bought the GT-P5113 few days ago. It has developed an issue where sound of any audio file or video is not playing properly. Video is playing at a slow rate and audio is just too sluggish. Moreover, the same issue is experienced on youtube app, streaming videos on native browser, playing files through storage, even on "TED" app and during video or audio chat on skype. However, the audio of games I downloaded (Fruit Ninja and Temple Run) is playing fine. System sounds are playing well too. I tried 4 different video players and 3 different browsers. Performed factory-reset twice but still the same issue. Any help? THE "Samsung" support is not doing anything. No rooting performed and no custom roms were installed. At first i thought it was the slow internet speed issue but same problem occurs when playing multimedia file through local storage.
Any help would be much appreciated...

Blank screen when using Windows Media Player

Hi there --
I'm trying to help my wife with a really strange Windows Media Player problem.
She has four videos on her phone (T-Mobile MDA). One video is a WMV recorded using the camera, in mp4 format. The other three are MPEGs converted to WMVs using Windows Movie Maker in WinXP.
To a first order, all the videos play fine. However, if she plays the captured video, THEN tries to play one of the converted videos, she will get a blank screen. If you go to the "task manager", and kill WMP, you can play the converted videos again, until the next time you play the captured video.
The symptom is a completely blank screen. Sound plays fine, and the cursor moves across like the video is playing, but no video.
Has anyone else seen this symptom?
Thankx!
imho them wmp is not a really good player
i would try winamp if that also do it
you can narrow it down to
a codec issue
or a video card driver issue
This does sound like a codec issue. Personally I don't recommend using WMP on your phone or on your desktop.
Instead download the free TCPMP. It supports many formats and has a wide verity of options to control playback, performance and memory usage.
http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/download
codec?
I'm definitely going to have my wife try the other media player, thanks.
A codec may be involved, but there clearly has to be something else at foot: the problem arises across individual playing sessions. All the videos play, if you start from a fresh WMP. The faulty interaction only comes up if you play a video *from the phone* first. Totally weird.
So it sounds like no one else has seen this...

[Q] Samsung stock video player lag? Video/audio sync issues

Anyone else having issues with the video and audio not syncing properly when watching video? I tried the many video programs including the stock Samcung Video Player and everything seems to lag.
Tried transferring video files through Samsung Kies and simple drag-and-drop...and both have same results.
Wondering if it's my phone that is defective?
Thanks!
I've been using the Video Player with a ton of downloaded content and in general I find at the best of times the audio is off by a fraction of a second.
Yesterday I had a giant lag in an episode of Mad Men that was working just fine earlier that day.
I loaded up the task manager (Froyo build) and killed everything, restarted the video player and it seemed to improve.

mkv video playback lags

Hi, all. I own xperia Neo V, recently rooted. I use MX player for video playback. There seems to be a lag at random intervals during video playback, especially playing mkv files. During the lag, audio continues to play while video displays as a still picture and then delayed video gets played back at a very fast pace. Then video playback continues fine and then lags with similar issue at another random interval. The lag happens for 5-8 seconds . I would like to know if any workaround for this problem? Does anyone face similar issue?

Hi! What is the resolution of the video? Because the Neo and Neo V screen resolution is only 720p and it won"t play full hd videos, but 720p videos is working well. I have Xperia Neo and it's not playing the full hd vids with any player! The sound goes as it should, bat the screen freezes. Reduce the video size and it will work...
The resolution is 576*432
I tried BSplayer, QQplayer too. all lag at random intervals
I use Moboplayer (the one with a "green triangle on a grey circle" icon), and it plays everything, except full hd vids. The max reslution is 1280x720, but even Quickpic plays too. So i dunno what the problem is... What rom are you using and kernel? Maybe you run out of free memory during playback... Have you download the codec for MX player? When I first install it, it's need the MX Player Kodek (ARMv7 NEON)...
But now I probe one video (1280x720) and Quickpic plays it, I'm able to scrolling too...
I tried Mobo before. One thing that I love about MX is that it's HW acceleration feature is excellent which boost your volume twice, and all other players including Mobo can't match this boost. That's the only reason stopping me to use other apps. Anyways, thanks for hinting Moboplayer, will try it out again. Regarding Quikcpic, I use it only to view my pictures, new used it to play any video.

[Q] ftp video streaming probmem

Hello,
Recently I bought HTC one s for my wife and we encountered the following problem:
I have NAS (network attached storage) and there I store all of my home made videos. If I download a video from the NAS to the
local storage of the phone it can be played fluently without any issues (1080p .mov format) with mx player. The problem is
if I want to stream the video using es file explorer and mx playerv it cannot be played fluently, actually it stutters like hell and the audio is tottaly
unsynchronised and also stuttering. I tried maybe all video players on the market but to no avail-all of them were stuttering. I also tried software and hardware decoding-the difference is very small and the playback is still unacceptable.
Please give me some advise how to fix this issue

Video players not working

I have some videos on my tablet that were originally recorded on my LG G2. I can't get a video player to play them properly. Some of them play audio but no video. The ones that do play video are laggy and slow, almost like it's slowed down. I've tried the top 20 free video players in the Play Store, can't find one that works properly. Is this tablet just too slow?
For anyone that's interested, I ended up transcoding the videos using a preset for Handbrake.
