so i have only one question is it official
you know i don't want to mess with my phone or put it a custom rom
i want it to be officially updated to ics
also every time i update it tells me emergency mode if you can please tell me how to disable it
If you don't install the rom, the v28B normal partitions .bin file is official ICS, only rooted with custom recovery. If you don't want that, instead install a .bin that is pure stock ICS. Or, there is a tutorial for installing a .kdz file using a different tool.
It all depends how you want to do it.

ok well i want it official
and one more question i have lg p920 so if i installed this rom will it erase the apps like 3d gallery 3d converter 3d space ??
The v28B ICS is official + root.Stock v28B ICS has all stock apps + a root app or two. If you look at the link to XBSA rom, it will list what apps are in there. I just wrote this installation guide, not the rom. VR3D has the 3D apps. I think XBSA 8 does also, but I don't remember. Either way, having root lets you install whatever you want.
If you do it, do it carefully. And if you have 10 posts you can ask me questions over there.
Please help
Hi,
I tried today to update my p920 thru PC to ICS.
After more than ten unsuccessful tries I wanted to try from the begining but with the phone factory reseted.
After reseted my phone, it displays "not enough space. clean ...."
In settings - applications - manage aplications does not show as usualy the mb used and mb free.
In settings - SD card&phone storage settings shows total and available space for internal and esternal SD but ...
"not available" for internal storage.
What can I do?
PLEASE HELP.
What did you do to cause that?
If you are following my tutorial you missed something. Read all details.
If you installed xbsall's v28B large, you need to erase internal memory.
But I don't know what you did. Please explain.

Nothing else than I said above.
- connected the phone to pc
- started LG mobile support tool
- When showed there is an update available I pressed the red button "start Update"
- Then try and try. disconnected the usb cable and battery as the LG Support Tool requested ... still same message:"problem in conection to your phone. Even if seconds ago recognized it.Didnt get further than 40% on analizing tab.
Then the same message: "there is a problem conectic to your phone..."
- then I thought to perform a factory reset.
Pressed the tab got me to the bootloader mode where I wiped the cache and dalvik and pressed factory reset.
Pressed the Reboot tab. The phone rebooted normaly but when I tryed to download fx explorer I got the message with no enough space ....
That is all.
Ok, it sounds like possible error in flash. You might try erasing internal memory. Or redoing with LG Mobile Support tool, but I have had trouble using it. Just going from between Froyo and GB was a real pain. It took about 3 tries to get it to work, following LG's instruction exactly.
You can try my tutorial, it should be linked some posts up. It uses LG Flash Tool, not the other one. Or there are other tutorials in the General section that use other tools.
I don't use LG Mobile Support tool.

About 3 tries to get from froyo to GB.
Would you be so kind to tell me exactly what tutorial of yours to try?
And also what soft I need to download for pc since the phone doesnt let me to install anything.
What you mean by "erasing internal memory" ... how can I do that?
Thank you.
First I'd try Mobile Update again to see if redoing it fixes it. Then I mean go into Android system settings/storage/internal memory/erase and see if it fixes it (back up your stuff to pc first, if you can).

Since your last answer I tried an tried with LG mobile support.
Nothing.
From more than 40 times, on 2 times passed 40% on Analyzing TAB and it said my phone has the last software.
LAYER.
The rest of times didnt pass 40%
I tried to erase internal memory but it didnt show the tab "erase" only 0, 00 mb available.
Your tutorial seems pretty hard to me so ... maybe there is somethin I can do from CWM where it takes me after pressing "factory reset"
THANK YOU for your time.

If you don't want to learn to flash and have CWM, you could install ics by doing 1, 2 (choose 1 option in part 2) and maybe 3 here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39130435
I have NOT tried it that way and I don't know if it will fix your problem. Plus, if you can't use storage I don't know how you will access the .zip(s) in CWM, unless you can get to it in there somehow.
If you do ending up needing to flash, my tutorial is about as clear as you will get as far as LG Flash Tool.

I am able to get into CWM recovery but unable to install any OS on the phone. Ive tried installing all sorts of .zip, didnt work. NEED HELP.
It is Wind mobile Canada version of Optimus 2X.
How about a better explanation of "didn't work".
And, specific information about which roms you've tried to flash.
Also how did you flash CWM?

i bet you he didn't flash it through nvflash correctly or maybe he didnt use nvflash at all.

follow this instruction here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847
I have used NVflash via command prompt on windows XP. when i hold the power+ -volume I see another LG logo( since I'm using the latest version 5 of clockwork mod recovery). I download rome like eagleblood, weaponG2x, WindG2x(some one had posted original android), miuiandroig2x etc. I have been creating .zip of each of them and pasted onto my sd card via mounting sd card from CWM recovery. then installed .zip from sd card and selected each of them but it says INSTALLATION ABORTED before starting. Not able to get any rom installed. Please help.
kdz updater crashes after 100% under download section. it says decompressing necessary files and doesn't respond after 100% and crashes. I've tried win 7 home basic 64 bit, xp professional 32bit.
Does not respond after saying NORMAL MTK UPGRADE START
read the guides/tutorials again
First and foremost I think you need to read ALL the tutorials on here a little more thoroughly, the way you're describing things indicates that you are unfamiliar with the correct process of flashing different roms. "S/W upgrading screen"?? "creating .zip of each of them"?? The issues you're experiencing are almost 100% user error and nothing hardware related.
Having said that, before you start blindly flashing, do a nandroid backup of your stock Wind rom immediately, then and only then proceed to flashing custom roms/kernels. Also, I would double check the nvflash instructions and repeat that process in its entirety, there's really no need to use rom manager at all or have the latest recovery release (from my experience with 5+ Android phones rom manager serves little purpose unless you're on cm nightlies, cwm and some patience is all you need).
Hopefully that didn't sound harsh, I'm honestly trying to help you, but seriously re-read everything then proceed with flashing, and if you're still having issues hopefully you can include more detailed information next time.
PS Weapon + faux's kernel = WIN
Hi, I have a similar problem.. I rooted my phone yesterday and then installed rom manager. When flashing, I chose LG Optimus 2X (which turns out to be P990) instead of the T-Mobile one (which is P999). My phone is the P999 one with Wind as well.
After a few seconds, the phone restarted and got stuck in the loading screen.
After doing a few searches, I nvflashed a stock image, but under phone info, the Model changed from P999 to P990. Problem is, the baseband says unknown and cannot get any signal. I tried KDZ updates as well as trying to restore stock ROMs using CWM Recovery with no success.
The KDZ method doesn't work as it gives an error saying there is a problem with the phone connectivity. Stock restores get stuck in a bootloop.
Does anyone know what I should do?
I have also tried the following :
Booted into CWM Recovery>mount SD card>USB Mount > extracted LG-P999-V10f>backup and restore(in CWM)> restore> YES
It went through and at the end said Restore Complete! but when i reboot I still see the S/W upgrade screen. I tried Factory restore too after restoring the above mentioned RoM
PS:My phone is not rooted and it is Wind mobile Canada LG-P999dw. Incase i need to root it then how am i suppose to do that since i am not able to bypass the Stupid S/W upgrade screen

You've somehow flashed an Optimus 2X baseband and ROM, so your baseband is messed. There was a couple of users that have done that here already. Try searching for the threads. They got their problem solved.

I don't understand why you are zipping ROM's. They are already zipped and ready to be placed on the root of your card for flashing.

This is totally a misunderstanding for everyone. T-mobile got a specific branded version called the G2X (in the usa) but the rest of the world got Optimus 2x. I hate when G2X owners frown upon Optimus users that have questions in the G2X thread & vise versa (though there were none in this thread ). The threads need to be better named to P999 & P990 & these misflashes would not have occured. Not just on this site but the whole damn internet. Let me sum it up for the world lol ... There were 3 versions of the Optimus 2x released... The p990, The P999 & The Tmobile specfic branded G2X which is also a p999. I have a p999 Optimus 2x as stated in my Signature. People need to check their version & goto the appropriate forum, But it doesnt help when you are in the correct forum as a newbie & 10 ppl who actually have no idea what version your Optimus 2x is end up telling to to goto "THE OTHER FORUM" because they're in their own closed little world lol. C'mon guys... u know I love you all!
ANYHOW
I've heard of people using Smartflash (a tool made for the p990 ONLY) to partially unbrick p999's to a working state. Here's a small conversation I found on another site:
"Mrjava65, on Apr 29 2011, 18:48, said:
Is there any update on this?
I was one of (hopefully) many who confused the P990 as the same thing as the Optimus 2 @ or the G2X.
So now Im stuck ...If there was a smartflash for the P999 i could undo all this mess !
Any update would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
LOOK!
Sorry for not updating this topic previously. I had thought I did so however that was on xda. I was able to reinstall the factory rom from a link provided by a user on the xda forum and is also linked on this forum. Go here to download the rom http://www.fileserve.com/file/cwSGYn2/BIN_LGP999AT-01-V10f-310-260-MAR-27-2011+0.zip. You'll need the smartflash tool for the LP9990 to flash the bin files. I was only able to successfully flash the AP.bin, I believe Paul is working on getting a working baseband. The phone will be restored to factory settings after flashing the AP.bin with full functionality. I noticed the baseband is weak and searching for networks does give errors occasionally so we'll be patiently awaiting an update to solve this issue. Albeit your phone will be functional enough to satisfy you till then. If you need any help with the steps just reply in this thread"
*****UPDATE***** : Try reading this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1226795 seems like this 1 would be your best bet rather than the above!
Now I don't know if this will work but it appears to be the only option u have. AGAIN Smartflash is a tool for the p990 ONLY & I suggest u only use that method if the second method (second link above) does not work. The KDZ method was crashing for me too when I was trying to update to T-mobile GB OTA update stock but I found that skipping the part that says "Read Phone Information" helped me get past any freezing/app crashing. If you are have connectivity issues w KDZ then make sure you downloaded the correct driver from the LG website for the correct version of windows.
Please update us & let us all know if it remains a brick or if you worked out your problem.

Hello,
Recently, i have installed CM7 on my LG P925g and all work perfectly.
But i changed my phone for Samsung Galaxy S2 and i give my old phone for my girlfriend. She doesn't like CM7 and i though it will be more easier for her to get back the Stock rom than CM7.
I did a lot research on the web about this and i can't find anything good.
I find some threads...but with dead links.
Do someone can send me a LG P925g Stock rom that i can flash with CWM with a zip. ?
Or a Backup that i can use with CWM ( zip file )
I hope you could help me please...!!

If i remember correctly you can download and install the lg mobile support tool (http://www.lg.com/us/support-mobile/lg-LGP925G scroll down a bit) write down your imei, (settings>about), then pop out the battery hold volume up and plug the usb cable in, aka download mode, the mobile support tool if you have it running and on the screen will try to look at it don't worry about that, Click on the customer support tab, the bottom item recovery phone, this is where your imei comes in, from there type in the IMEI and check, it should find the stock 20c firmware and from there it may need a few more clicks but you'll restore to stock 20c no custom recovery/root, but completely stock 20c.
Hope it helps, worked for me last time i screwed up lol
I justed registered to say thx!
Same problem here, screwed up and didnt know how to establish a working data connection with the pc..
the hint with the download mode really helped a lot, I didnt know that you had do pop out the battery, hold the volume up button and plug in the usb cable..

Hi guys.
I'm using stock ROMs (V21E + Stock Android 2.3.5) in my P920 for the past 3 months now, but I'm curious about Android 4 ROMs, and also about faster/less battery consuming ROMs and Kernels.
What combination of ROM + Kernel do you recommend?
I would like to keep the 3D possibilities of the phone (camera, gallery, video playback), if possible.
Thanks.

Although defcomg was right, you should posted it in general sectionç a ROM with full 3D capabilities is just up to GingerBread, and with some difficulties in flashing the ROM, the ICS ROM ported by XBSALL.
The cyanogenmod ROMs are not with 3d capabilities and some of them have no working HDMI or other problems. So it's up to you.
Thanks BigBadSheep

Sorry about the wrong section, I would change it if I could.
I tried to install xbsall's ICS ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956347) this weekend, but couldn't.
I followed marti701's tutorial for installing BIN ROMs (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1244490), but failed.
My computer kept recognizing/unrecognizing omap4 device and I had a hard time installing it's driver (had to download it from another site and install it manually, it wouldn't install from windows update).
Also the "LGE CDMA USB SERIAL PORT" device wasn't installed in my computer, so I couldn't change the COM port to 41 as required.
Despite it I proceed with the tutorial, but LGFlashTool didn't install anyting, of course.

Despite it I proceed with the tutorial, but LGFlashTool didn't install anything, of course.

2 weeks ago i was just like you too, i didn't know what do where to go and where to ask, so don't just get disappointed yet.
First thing first , you need to read more and more before start using Lg flash tool or any other flash tools out there, you will end up with brick phone. i been there so i know how it feels. all you have to do it find all the drivers necessary for your computer and then download http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956347
Go to Google translate and translate this site: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1244490
most driver you need is there.
I'll be here to help you for anythings that i already know, and for what i don't know we are like family in Xda developers we will ask those master and Developers and they will give you the right answer you need.

bensmokie, those were the tutorials I followed.
I've installed kdz basebands/roms and kernels before without any problem, but those bin roms are a problem for me. Maybe the reason is Win7 64 bits in my computer.
Maybe I will try again next weekend, this is my daily use phone and I can't afford to mess with it during work days.
Thank you.

Thank you again, will try that tutorial as soon as I can.
I followed that tutorial today, phone entered green download mode ok, but in LG Flashtool I got a "Download FAIL" error trying to flash xbsall's ported rom...
A few messages kept appearing in LG Flashtool until "Set FLASH address".
Then, the phone shut itself off (korean letters disapeared)
Then, I got: error! IFXDownload
Error WM_PROGRESS_MSG
Code Download fail
FAIL
Tried 3 times now, always the same error...
Phone now boots normally and starts GB normally, but I have no network signal !

Thats weard never happen to me. anyway fallow this guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942836
Download the BOOT V 21E the bin file and the Fls file flash both of them in lg flash tool or smart flash when you are done, let phone start and lets see if it has signal. IMO you should have . after that try to flash xbsall's ported rom i think you should be good to go. if does not work on LG flash too try smart flash well i prefer Lg flash tool because it saved my butt many time
Good luck!!!
PS don't forget to change your COM port to 41.
Sorry bensmokie, I did some more reading and tried a few more times, and I managed to flash rom correctly, it´s working.
The thing is I don't have network signal for now, I,m trying to solve it at this time.

well thats great then!!!, when you flashed the ICS did you flash it with the FLS or just the BIN file? You have to flash both of them.... anyway here the Baseband you should need, find for your country and you should be good to go.

Working !
Flashed v30b baseband again, flashed bin rom again, and it's done!
Next step it's search for the bug solutions (camera and softkeys), root it and clean bloatware.
I'd like it to include my language (portuguese), but well...
Thanks again!

Use the combo on my signature, it works flawlessly. I'm from Porto too.
And use defcomg's modded LGcontacts3 and message plus profiles to solve the 80 characters bug in SMS.

Thanks neighbour!
I'll stick for now with this stock 4.0.4 rom, I'm loving it!
I've already rooted and cleaned, now I'll try to fix the bugs.
Will try defcomg's modded camera app and sms fixes.
The 4 softkeys problem is solvable with new kernel, right?
Hi all,
Recently I've been trying to update my optimus 3D.
I've been using the LG mobile support tool, to try to update from 2.2 to 4.0, the update tool wants to update from 2.2 to 2.3 then to 4.0
I'm fine with this, and have tried to let it run! the update downloads, and unpackages but then when it tries to install, at about 5-10% the update
stops and states that the phone is disconnected-its not!
have any of you got any suggestions on what to do as I don't want to root until my contract is over then I'll properly mess with it. the support tool/update tool says that if the update stopped abruptly try the customer support to recovery- this looks like it will put a clean install, which im sorta okay with but im not sure if it will be 4.0 or not cause its kinda useless on 2.2... :/
any ideas?
thanks a lot !
LG updater unfortunately has been causing problems all around. I used it to update to GB and I had to try about 4 times before it worked. I have heard several stories about problems updating to ICS also.
If you do have problems, one way to fix it is do this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39269819
But if you don't want root, you will need to find an unrooted .bin and .fls and flash those instead of the files linked there. There is also a tool for flashing .kdz files around the forum someplace (driver install procedure for both tools should be about the same). Again, you will need an unrooted .kdz.
You can always unroot if needed, if you do want root. Honestly, unless you break hardware, the info you will find on xda allows you to a better job at servicing your phone than LG and others will do for you. I have read that some of these places will say they "can't" fix it, but really they won't/don't take the time to learn how.
Sent from my Oldschool Hardcore LG P925 with XBSA vR3D ROM and Backside Boneless FTW
i have the same problem! damn! what to do... CAN U GIVE ME JUST A TUTORIAL WHAT TO DO IN THIS CASE?;//
I tried to update my LG 3D with the LG Official Tool. Was a 2.3 to 4.0 update. Everything seems to be ok, but my phone is not booting up, bootloop is the name for that i think. I repeat the process with no luck. Any ideas?
Use LG Flash tool instead. Updater seems to cause a lot of people problems.

Ok ill give it a shot. XBSA is a custum rom right? Where do i get the Official ICS rom?
The guide puts you to ICS, then you can install the custom ROM if you choose. It's all there. Let me know if you find any broken links; I have not checked in a while.
