I started to use it on my motorola milestone 3 years ago, still using it on my i9500

Isn't it against rules to link to paid apps?
Sent from my GT-I9505

I always use Root Explorer, I've been using it for a couple of years now. It's always one of the first two apps (along with Titanium Backup) I install when flashing to a new ROM!
I too like the new UI. :good:

Still by far the best file explorer on Android. I tried Solid Explorer but came back to RE. I even prefer the simple graphics.

its super fast.... now with with holo ui..............

The best just got better! using it since my Moto Milestone

When it's going to updated in Amazon. Thanks in advance.

Ext SD-Card
Thanks Op
A question, I see that we can set tabs now, the default is (Root & Storage). I tried to add a third tab to external SD Card, with setting the path in preferences to /Storage/extSdCard, but it always opens an empty tab. I would like to pin a tab for ExtSdCard.
Any ideas?
Edit: Got it figured, it's (/mnt/extSdCard), not (/storage/extSdCard).

How to Access Files on PC over Wifi
Hi
I'm hoping someone can help me out. Am using RE v3.0.1 and can't find a way to access my home PC (or any files on it) from within RE, as you can with ES File Explorer for example.
There is the ability to add a 'Network (SMB)' tab but the scan function produces nothing. Even when I manually enter some details into a 'Server' pop up that displays when you add the Network (SMB) tab, still nothing.
I'm sure I'm missing something something but my small brain can't work out what!
Any advice gratefully received..:good:

Instructions
backup original market vending apk
clear cache of the old market (Go /Settings/applications/(remove filter and select all) select market application and press clear cache)
install this application like any other apk using file browser
Note:
My phone is rooted but im not sure rooting is required.
This is only for android 2.1 or above
Once installed open market and press menu/settings/ customized content filtering and notifications as preferred.
Some users have reported that at the time of clearing cache, market was automatically update to 2.2.7. if your one of those lucky users, this installation is not required
Even this is posted on X10 forum, any 2.1 android can have this update.
If you face any errors or fc after installation follow this method and see if its resolved. (only for the 2.1 version which already market available)
Go /Settings/applications/(remove filter and select all) select market application/ select clear cache
Go /Settings/applications/(remove filter and select all) select market application/ select uninstall update
Open Market and see if its auto updated. (because now market update is already rolled out to all the 2.1 users) if not redo the step 1 and go for step 4
install the new version on this post
Sign in to talk and open market.
Update:20.02.2011
New version 2.3.2 for Custom Rom users......
Install this via Xrecovery for the latest 2.3.2 version
Download: LINK
Note: before installation login to the market at least once from the original rom of the developer and update this. read the instuctions from the custom rom developer well otherwise you will get endless FC of the market app.
currently tested and working on 2.2.1 beta4, CM mod roms all 6.1.xxx
Cheers

You dont need to play with root system directory. this will install on top of stock market as an update. (if you followed the method I mentioned. when you dont want it simply click uninstall update.
This kind of behavior you will find in google maps, stock facebook application.
hope this is clear for you.
Just went through all the steps to do this, went into my market to clear the cache and seen I already had the new market, auto update?
Nice....The new market is working nice without any lags or bugs....

Also wondering
For guys who havent seen my previous similar LWP before: This is Google Stock LWP Nexus which i have modded and extracted from stock and it appears I deleted camera permission but not network permission. The stock one uses that permission for Google Map LWP which needs internet access If I find time, I will delete it but go ahead and check that in your stock LWP permissions (use adb to pull Livewallpapers.apk and use apktool to decompile it, then look into manifest file). No you wont get malware stuff and u will be fine
BTW if I didnt want you guys know about that, why did I show it on youtube lol you guys made my day!

2 reasons not working for you.
1)You didn't copy the apk files to sdcard correctly. copying the file again and rebooting can solve the issue.
2) You are running a non-compatible rom. These are Google Modded stock files which should work for all devices. Please mention your device and Rom version
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once again resolution makes the lwp weird. On my aria (a mdpi device) whenever you touch the screen, the response happens on the far right of the screen. This probably could be fixed easily by just modifying the nexus lwp from the aria itself. you can get it in the CM7 thread or from the upload I gave you 5 or 6 months back. (btw, when can I expect that request?)

Btw I have to use the Google source and modify that to matches your LWP, these ones are different, they are not only backgrounds mods if you have noticed on video.

Sorry if I came off as snobbish or any other word you can use to describe my wording in my last post.
1. Per your directions, rebooted and tried to install, but to no avail.
2. Samsung Moment 2.1, rom can be found here:http://forum.sdx-developers.com/roms/ti-x-moment-rom-1-6c-1911/. LWPs weren't enabled from the beginning, but as it stands, I can play most that are on the market.
These are nice. Working great on stock ROM. Thanks

These looks really cool, great job. However MegaUpload isn't playing ball with me, not even loading the download page. Just want to check if anyone could consider adding a mirror of some sort, it would be very much appreciated.
EDIT: Fail on my part, MegaUpload works fine, again thanks to the work put into these, you can never get enough Live Wallpapers.

FAQs:
q: Where can I find the modified Samba source code?
a: Here it is.
q: Why my transfer speed decrease when I turn off the screen?
a: Enable the option 'Lock Wifi'. If your device is running at least Android 2.3.x, you should get full speed transfer even when the screen is off, otherwise enable the option 'Lock screen' too.
q: How can I automate the application start/stop?
a: Use the following broadcast intents:
START: berserker.android.apps.sambadroid.command.START
STOP: berserker.android.apps.sambadroid.command.STOP
If you are a Tasker user, please follow these steps (thanks to bcrook)
Create a new Task (eg. Start SambaDroid) in Tasker
Add a new action > Misc > Send Intent
Set the action to berserker.android.apps.sambadroid.command.START , Cat = None, the rest you can leave as defaults
Save the action and task
Repeat for berserker.android.apps.sambadroid.command.STOP intent
Create a profile to trigger the tasks (or launch w/ NFC or whatever you want)
You can test the Task by clicking on the Task and clicking the Play icon in the lower right of the popup.

Do you use the same Workgroup? Moreover are you on windows/linux/mac?

I starts fine but Windows wants to get a username (as in Samba filesharing) and a password.
So I cannot connect too.
Edit: the user root as suggested does not help.
yes without password i can connect device from windows xp sp3 without problem navigate into my sdcard

Yes now I tried this with success. Thank you.
What is the difference between Netbios name and Server string?
From Windows I always see SAMBADROID in the network neighborhood even I changed the server string. Is it hardcoded?
The NetBIOS name is not seen in Windows.
Please add a username for us windows user.
The logfile does not provide any information about failed logins.
Nice. Great to see it alive again. I'll test it when I get some time later.
Thanks for the beta and for finding time to reviving this app!

Thanks for reporting this: it seems that we have here a problem with the installation (the service doesn't find the config file).
You can try to:
Edit options (just to override the new config file)
reinstall the application
post a screenshot of your directory structure inside /data/data/berserker.android.apps.sambadroid/samba (this could really help)
Please let me know

Thanks for your time and help!

[NoRoot] OmniSwitch & DSP Manager & 56 Apps from CM11-442-nightly & others

[NoRoot] OmniSwitch & DSP Manager & 56 Apps from CM11-442-nightly & others
OmniSwitch! No root needed: post 4. Installs & works but FCs on a kill app swipe. This is the only one that does this well. Pulled from 1.3.2 version http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2620709
If I forget to check for a fix.
Most work on 442, no root needed. The odd/utilities are from cm4.3.
Some do not work on 442 but I thought some on 44 or 422 could use them.
See post 3 for more apps.
Edit/update
Unrooted users: If you have a version in system/app then there is no point. You can only install the apps that are unique.
Rooted & wp off: You can paste away to system/app & set permissions rw-r--r--. Be sure to rename your original to ...apk.or or the like. Some may be odexed & I could up those files too.
For the odex files go to dev section & find odexed ROMs then use explorer to extract them. There are not many odexed ROMs.
A reboot is needed to install.
DSP Manager is here. Runs fine w/o root but gives no bluetooth control. I disabled the stock Audio Effects first. http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/themes-apps/request-cyanogenmod-dsp-manager-t2714105
Cm wallpapers. Needs a shortcut to get to it.

any way to get theme chooser to work on a non-cm rom. I've got my bl unlocked and everything, but seems every custom rom has issues, was wondering if there are any ways to make themes work.

Couldn't find a odexed OmniRom. Guess I will have to wait for one or have the non root one not break on closing an app.
I'm confused what this is. I see you say no root in the title but unsure if you need to be unlocked or something. Like the theme chooser apk, I would think you'd need root for that. Sorry if I'm missing something obvious.

I am just sharing what I found. A lot need no root. Some do. I am not much into themes. Everyone is on their own. I am unrooted & the ones that, at least installed, I have put in a leading character of some kind (but the op apps are a mix). Of such I am trying those out. May report back. Others too can post their results.
The 2 with links work fine w/o root too.
If it will not install then it may work if pasted by rooters!
Two root apps one from PAC & the other from AKOP in post 4.

dianxin folder?

Has anyone else got this folder on the internal memory? Never seen it before
Seems you downloaded an app that created this folder cause i don't have it.
Strange because i have no new apps since updating to Marshmallow. And definitely never had it before then

Google it, it's known since 2012. Looks like biadu trash. There a many reports now. I would do a factory reset and use a good virusscanner.
I have Google'd it but all i seemed to find was about some aftermarket rom. Which i have nothing to do with as I'm completely stock

I've had this too on my N7, can delete it but it keeps coming back, usually within 15 minutes. Tried uninstalling the latest apps I had installed, made no difference. Checked my N6 and the folder did not exist there.
When I installed the latest ES File Explorer update on my N6 the folder instantly appeared. I had already installed that update on my N7.
I have uninstalled ES from my N7 and 8 hours later I still do not have dianxin on my N7.
Ah... So it's es file explorer causing it?
I do love that file explorer but every update just seems to keep adding more and more [email protected] lately

Seems to be ES File Explorer: my father has very few apps on his phone (all installed from Google Play) and he also has this folder.
I think it's extremely suspicious.
I created a thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/es-file-explorer-malware-dianxin-folder-t3348545
I've had it with the ES File Explorer crap. By my estimation, they're boardering on malware at this point. Anyone have and suggestions for a power user friendly file explorer that works as well as ES and has powerful root-friendly features (preferably with a few of the bells and whistles that make it easy to use) but without all the bloat and shady stuff they're adding recently?
I've gone to cabinet beta instead. I've used it before and it's been good

Before ES File Explorer, I used root Explorer, but for some things, it isn't as good as ES File Explorer.
Otherwise, I've checked into that dianxin folder and I found 2 files: the 1st one is an .0 file but I couldn't open it as other .0 files I've tested.
The 2nd one is named "journal" and I could open it with a text editor:
"libcore.io.DiskLruCache
1
1
1
CLEAN e8dd70db5163eccfbe80f53c786ae2a2980"
Any idea what it could be?
Nexus 6 here, not rooted and stock, latest version of ES Explorer and no dianxin folder on my device.
I've uninstalled es on both my Z5 and my work asus zenpad and deleted the dianxin folder and it hasn't come back on either so definitely an es thing

I used root explorer before going to ES File Explorer. I changed because root explorer can't write on the sd card if I'm not rooted.
I'll try File Manager
I also used to use file explorer and moved away because it can't write to SD unless rooted like the poster above. I now use fx and love it

I got an answer from the developers, false alarm it seems:
"Hi, Thanks for your concern. As you may noticed that, in order to keep contact with users, we add message box page at the homepage, and dianxin folder is where cache files store. In the next version, we will move this folder into .estrongs. In case you are interested, dianxin is dessert in Chinese. Greeting from team."
