Hey developers, Being a regular & possibly a feature greedy user many times I got this question in my mind..!!
I also found some project working on CM 10.1 but That also is abundant, m late..
So ultimately question is what is straight forward reason that can't have 4.2...??
If anyone else also have the same question then they must post in this threat,. Developers always welcomed.

Hi..
We can have 4.2 on Micromax A110 but many developers have abounded this device & moved on to A116 so any further custom ROM for A110 is not possible... even i am eagerly waiting for the 4.2 update... still hope someone will give us that...

That's not true bro, many developers are still working hard to develop new versions of custom ROMs for A110, just see the A110 Android Development forum!
As for 4.2 for our device, i believe they are waiting for an official kernel update for that..

I was surprised to see 4.1 from Micromax for Canvas 2, i hope Micromax give us another surprise
But i personally don't think that they will do it..

Micromax will not release 4.2. for micromax a110 as they have already Launched Micromax A110 Plus with 4.2.

It's not disappointing me, coz as per configuration m using since last 6-7 months, Canvas 2 has been best value for money.

The main problem is kernel.... may developers try... port... but no one can successful becoz is micromax / mediatak kernel source is not open... that is main minus point for over devices.... :banghead: if our kernel source is open.... may b it will happen on our A110 and also we can port cm base roms.....

But we are not able to find any developer here, seems it is very tough task. Kernals are very tough to b created.

i am also waiting for 4.2 rom
as i noticed before, mediateks ALPS environment is bound to the current hardware. they released some 2.3.x for mt6516 and 6573, ICS and jellybean 4.1 for mt6575/mt6577 (pretty much the same hardware, the SoC is pincompatible) and since the new mt6589 are out, i think there is no chance to get (an official) Jellybean 4.2 for a mt6577 based device. maybe some dev will port 4.2 to a110, but those propietary sources are also bound to a release (cannot use e.g. wlan.ko from 4.0.4 on 4.1) so even if the deivce will boot, nothing will work. before obtaining a leaked, working AOSP source, you will never see fully working jb 4.2.

Developers better know what to include and what not..I can't suggest on that but only thing i can say is that the ROM should be better on performance and battery....
And plz include one thing if u can OTA(over the air) and provide long term support
I advice just go through Lewa ROM by @mufti.arfan once and u will find ur answers....:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

If u are working for 4.2 ROM then u require to port kernel From 4.2 ROM from other device.
U can try by changing API level i.e.
One way is by compiling it from cm10.1 ROM . Other way is to try porting ROMs from canvas HD.
For 4.2 based rom , kernel modifications are required . This is possible when we have kernel source codes available for MTK6577 chipset by MMX.

Porting sense is a bit more nastier work... Samsung is a really popular and easier port.

So i am making a WINDOWS BASED ROM with different looks (eg: it got HTC recent apps style,nexus 7 cool transitions and IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM COMMON GALAXY OR XPERIA BASED ROMs).
I hope you would like it. Releasing in last week of September.
Also it will not give you STOCKISH feeling..

Trying to make a somewhat different rom unlike galaxy and xperia based rom.
Just one suggestion needed: should i add htc boot animation or xperia or make a different one. ( How about Windows)

Because my rom is different but as i don't like sense so much as wp8 rom so choosed to frame rom in that way.
And regarding changes... yes it comes with a lot of changes.

Read the different ROMs' descriptions, check out their features, and decide for yourself. There's no such thing as a "best ROM" as it depends on what you want.

You can't port ROM from A110 because that have mtk processor. But we can theme A111 like other ROMs, but first cwm or twrp recovery needed. Try to port it bro...
