Hi, I Bought a supposedly unlocked Desire X from eCell on ebay and it won't recognise my SIM card.
After going through their feedback in more detail it looks like their a bunch of shisters who try to wriggle out of everything and rob people of their money.
they're trying to say I've broken the SIM card slot
I suspect it's not working because it was for a non UK market or was faulty before dispatch.
So can I find out from the serial number or IMEI if it is a hong kong or malaysian phone etc and hence why it won't work in the UK with my SIM.
thanks for any pointers in advance
cheers

Hello. I have a European version of the S2 LTE GT-I9210. My brother borrowed my phone and now he has broken the three gold holder on the sim tray so i need to replace it. http://imgur.com/KsEdI
I have searched the internet but I cant find any dealer that can send to Sweden. Does anyone know where I can buy it? (who send to Sweden)
As you can see on the picture its saying SGH-I727 on the card of the sim tray so i guess i dont need this part specific for GT-i9210.
Help is really appreciated!
Thanks.
Hi could anyone help me get one of these, I have tried to contact my local HTC vendor but they said since its not a phone sold in Australia and the sim tray is a hardware part they do not supply it. I have paypal and am happy to reimburse anyone who can help me.

I have same problems does anybody know where I can buy this?

They can be bought on Taobao.com but the site is Chinese only.
Hello there folks, i have a problem and hopefully someone in this forum could help me. Recently i bought a unlocked (international) Xperia Z3, model D6603 from Amazon. (its suppose to be a new unit, but i have my doubts since the box came unsealed, although the phone looks in perfect shape)
The thing is that the damn phone doesnt have any signal after inserting the nano SIM. The SIM is well insterted, the APN parameters are also well set, so i dont know what could be the problem.
Fyi..I live in Guatemala, my Carrier is Tigo, and the band Tigo uses for LTE is 850 or Band V, and the phone is supposed to work with these bands.
Also, i went to a Cell Phone Retail store, and tried my SIM in an exact same Z3 unlocked model, (D6603), and worked perfectly.
My quiestions are:
- Is there something else i need to configure?
- Could this phone be damaged?
I really appreciate someone´s help, advice, or orientation.
Best Regards and a happy 2016 to all.
Christian Schippers
P.S. My Carrier didnt want to check my phone because i didt buy it there, so i dont have any support from them (obviusly)
1. Does your SIM work in a different phone?
If no, have your carrier replace your SIM card.
If yes, you might have bought a blacklisted (stolen) phone. Maybe it's not stolen, might just be damaged. If it's damaged, go to Amazon and file a support ticket.
Hi,
I have bought the device in France while i was on a trip there.
I have returned back home (New Zealand) and my European sim cards connect to the network no problem (I have one french and one Israeli) both working.
however, when i insert my Spark sim, its not recognized at all i got a new sim card (nano-sim) as my old one was micro sim.
Any thoughts?
Cheers.

I think, this has to-do with the "Region Lock"; you bought an European S8+, and before you can use SIM-cards from other (read NOT European) regions, you must have called at least 5 minutes with a European SIM-card...
yeah i have purchased the device in France and used it heavily during that time including calls.
can something be done about this?

Actually, it was a sim problem, after going back to my provider i got a new sim and it worked.
Thanks for the help.
Hi all,
I have just ordered an S10e, US model, from Aliexpress and am trying to understand if it will get OTA updates or if I am going to have to flash it. I live in the UK.
Does the update server determine whether to issue the update based on the SIM card that is installed in the phone? If so, will the US model only permit updates to be installed if a SIM card from a supported US carrier is installed, or will any supported carrier do (my carrier in the UK also sells the S10e, although presumably the UK version).
Finally, if it's as simple as having the right SIM card, if I happen to be in the US and borrow or buy a SIM card for a supported network, could I just temporarily install that SIM and wait for the update to be delivered?
Apologies for the newbie questions, any help appreciated.
Thanks
You will probably need to flash it but it's not a big deal. However it's not a good idea to buy Samsung from Aliexpress, it will be 99% some refurbished phone without water resistance, with used battery etc. Non-chinese genuine goods on Ali are rare and so the only reason they sell US phones in China is because they repair or restore cheap broken or used phones and then sell them as new in box with fake seal. Rating doesn't matter as most buyers cannot tell if the phone is new or not. Once you receive the phone try to install Phone Info app from Store and do a refurbishment check + check battery cycles. But even if the phone won't be new you will have hard time making a dispute with the seller because some of them are stating on their pages that the app is not from Samsung and therefore shows "incorrect information".
Thanks for the great advice. I should have known that the price was too good to be true - I've cancelled the order as it hasn't shipped yet.
I don't suppose you happen to know where I can get an S10e at a good price in the UK? Most places are sold out.
Sorry, I'm not from UK, but it seems S10e is being sold out almost everywhere...
Thanks anyway, appreciate all your help.
For future reference for those who might be wondering the same thing, I ended up ordering it from Laptops Direct in the UK for £550.
I got a "renewed" Samsung Galaxy S10e from Amazon.
It was a T-Mobile carrier-unlocked phone that arrived with no SIM card.
As soon as I connected it to my home WiFi, it downloaded and updated itself twice, with the 2 major Android updates, all with no SIM card inserted and no phone number!
