[ROM][PORT][4.2.2]PACman ROM v5.0[HALO!!][UNOFFICIAL][KEXEC]UPDATED 22-06-2013 - Motorola Atrix 2

So most of you must have used the PACman ROM at some point of time.Right???
Love it?But wish that the UI Tearing goes away...
Well your wish has come true...
HALO IS HERE!!!
JBX KERNEL IS HERE!!!!
SAY GOODBYE TO UI-TEARING AND ENJOY THE PACman AS IT SHOULD BE...
Well you're all well aware of the features, have seen the screenies(hell even used it) so I won't waste your and my time rattling about that.
Let's go then:
Links:
PAC
GAPPS Collection
Installation Instructions:
Note:This ROM uses JBX kernel(0.6).Those of you who were getting the black screen problem with kexec kernel will get the same bug here.
Note:Please backup your CID just to be safe. You may not have this error ever but it's always safe to have a backup of the CID.So that if you get a message invalid CID or soemthing just restore it and you'll be good to go.
To backup CID:
Reboot into Recovery
Tap on firmware flashing
Tap on backup CID.
Note:To be flashed via BMM only
BMM instructions:
See here if this is your first time multibooting with BMM.
Download and install BMM from google play https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...otmenu.manager
Our phone does not have a partition for internal storage.. so we use the data partition for it.. To do so, just open a root browser like root explorer and navigate to /etc/bmm/conf
Open "recovery.fstab" with a text editor
The last line will be something like this
/int vfat /dev/block/mmcblk1p25
Just change 'vfat' to 'auto' and 'mmcblk1p25' to 'userdata' (its the same though..)
So that it looks like this
/int auto /dev/block/userdata
and of course save it and close it..
Done.. you are good to go.. Happy Multi Booting..
Just some tips
On your first reboot, tap the android, go to settings-->System_2-->Partition setup and tap on ACTIVATE. This formats cdrom partition to ext2.
Now go back 2 two steps, and select any other system(3-6). choose Partition setup, tap on system.img, tap on Create, select the size, create it. go back and do the same with data.img and cache.img.
Once thats done, go back and select recovery, select switch system. choose your system that you created the images for, the colour will change, install any custom rom.. Enjoy!!
NOTE: BMM stores the images in internal memory(/int/clockworkmod/virtual/system_(num)). Since we dont have emmc partition and are using the data partition for /int, doing a factory reset will wipe it out and you will lose all your other roms.. So be carefull..
NOTE 2: USE ONLY SYSTEMS 3 TO 6 FOR CUSTOM ROMS.. SUSTEM 2 IS CDROM PARTITION.. YOU ACTIVATE IT ONCE AND DONE.. DONT TOUCH IT AGAIN.. ITS ONLY 12MB..
IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT INSTALL BMM IF YOU USED A2 BOOTSTRAPPER BEFORE. THAT WILL MESS THINGS UP WITH YOUR LOGWRAPPER.BIN. THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE YOU WILL BOOT LOOP AFTER REBOOT. NOW IF FOR SOME REASON YOU DID NOT READ THIS, AND GET A MESSAGE ABOUT BMM ASKING YOU TO GET HELP, BEST THING FOR YOU TO DO IS RECHARGE YOUR BATTERY FULLY AND FXZ BACK. OR THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE YOU WILL HAVE TO USE MCGRUVYER METHOD OR ANOTHER A2 BATTERY. USER RAD7 RECENTLY HAD QUITE A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH HIS BATTERY DYING AFTER BMM MESSED WITH LOGWRAPPER. YOU HAVE BEEN INFORMED.
Make sure you have BMM recovery.
Reboot and hit the droid at the BMM splash screen
Optional:
Tap on Settings
Create a new System by creating system, data and cache partitons.Delete the previous partitions if you have to(NOTE: You can skip this but it's better to do it this way)
Click to collapse
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe dalvic cache
Flash ROM
Flash Gapps
Reboot

i'm so sad can;t boot into kexec kernel.
i wish to try this..

Ok I've made a small Fix Audio.zip it should enhance audio significantly and also fix the broken sound recorder(I bet no one new that it was broken)
Anyways flash in recovery. No wipes needed.
Also if you don't like the new audio you can revert back to your old settings and broken voice recorder by flashing the Fix Audio Revert.zip

I installed this to system 3 and got it to boot up once, but whenever I rebooted, every time I try to boot it up, I just get sent back to the moto dual core logo. Does this mean I'm a kexec reject?
Edit: I played around some more, turns out system 1 and system 3 didnt play nice together,so deleting system 3 fixed it!

i'm currently on boot menu manager 0.2.7 right now and on the NUMA ROM. Is the BMM I'm supposed to use different and is the process different since I'm coming from NUMA?
EDIT: nvm, installed and rebooted to system 2. Now waiting for it to boot (taking forever)!

Well the multi booting process is significantly different in the 0.2.7 and 0.3.4 better just upgrade the BMM and then flash it.
But the process would be the same.

Okay... kind of lost on the instructions. I rebooted, clicked the droid, and click settings, picked system 2 (NUMA is on system 1) and I'm only given "Partition setup" and "Boot mode". I clicked System 2 and clicked activate. Am I supposed to go back, enter recovery and then continue with the instructions?

So far, so epic

So, just to be sure before I begin: I'm on JB leak 1 (4.1.2), and I must go back to stock ICS before flashing this, right? Or I can just install BBM and install it from here? I was absent in the recent weeks so can someone direct me?

Yeah. Go on and flash . Its kexec. Doesn't matter which kernel it is.

In the first post it says that I shouldn't install BMM if I have A2 Bootstrapper. Should I remove it first?
I never used BMM before, so I'm not familiar with it yet

[SC-02C] Any Rom Patcher by Simmo [Updated : 2013/06/16]

Simmo's SC-02C Any Rom Patcher
with special thanks to wjchen0 for the ntt gps kernel module
Tested and working with ICS and JB 4.1.x
JB 4.2 works, but requires a Siyah based kernel or a kernel designed specificially for the SC-02C, such as KBC.
Please press the Thanks button if it works for you.
Code:
Modem: SC02C-OMLPL
Apps: ClockworkMod SuperUser
Busybox
Tweaks: Set NTP server (jp.pool.ntp.org)
Free tethering (tether_dun_required=0)
NTT GPS & compass fix
Facebook ContactsProvider database patch (is_restricted=0)
Black camera viewfinder fix for the Docomo rom
CyanogenMod APN xml (with spmode)
Samsung JellyBean fonts (incl. Japanese)
SP-Mode Mail with Push & Docomo Account Authenticator
Docomo emoji library
How to get a working JellyBean rom.
Root your phone and install a custom kernel. Reboot into CWM.
Download a custom rom. I recommend WanamLite or NeatRom.
Download my tweaker.
Install the rom first, then my tweaker.
Reboot, then you're done.
Note : You must install the tweaker every time you do a full wipe.
If you are running Jelly Bean then you can install CommuniCase by Docomo, instead of using SP-Mode Mail.
Changes:
2013/06/16
Updated the DcomoAccountAuthenticator to work with Docomo CommuniCase.
Added support for Docomo emojis in keyboard that use it.
Reverted to the OMLPL modem, as I found it works better.
2013/02/04
Updated the system modules and modem from the latest OMMP4 rom.
2013/01/28
The gps module has a bug that cuases the system to hang at the docomo logo.
You must install this new update to stop it happening.
If you already have the "stuck at docomo logo" problem, download the new tweaker and install on top. It deletes the corrupted file.

Works great
Great tweak. Working for me so far and I had a few issues myself. I will say that in order to get the ROM (I'm using Wanamlite 14.0 and the 23 Toggles) and the tweaker working properly I did have to do a full wipe.
I will just recommend that anyone who wants this to work BACKUP - BACKUP - BACKUP.
I also used Titanium Backup (correctly - Thanks Simmo :silly: ) to backup all user apps. Don't worry about the system apps - the ROM takes care of them.
My order of installation -
1 - BACKUP your current ROM - again - BACKUP your current ROM
2 - Use Titanium Backup (use this guide) to back up your user apps so you can get them back afterwards. When using Titanium Backup for the first time on a new ROM, you may get the message about using the phone's original ID, ignore it, let it use the new one.
3 - Follow SimmoF's instructions in the first post
4 - Reboot and enjoy.
Thanks again to SimmoF - buy him a beer.

Then it obviously appears that it is not the ROM or the tweaker causing the problem. Please be sure that you have the right Tweaker B version and boot into recovery and run it through again.
If not, I would say try again but after the ROM installs let it reboot before installing everything else. Run through the google setup stuff, don't do the samsung stuff, skip it.
Then go in and only restore user apps. I always thought I knew Titanium Backup well, but, as Simmo pointed out to me, I was wrong. Go ahead and JUST RESTORE YOUR USER APPS - NO SYSTEM APPS OR DATA. You may also have to go in and set your apn to the spmode.ne.jp .
This is what worked for me. After you have done that and just the ROM and your restoration works, test with a few reboots. Then go and get the tweaker file again. Just to be safe.
I know that, myself, if I let everything settle and check for running operation, then install the 23 toggles, tweaks and sp push files, it works.
If you get stuck at the boot logo AND you have downloaded the Tweaker B version of the file before wiping again - try to boot into recovery and just run the tweaker file as suggested.
DON'T GIVE UP!!!
It's a very smooth ROM. So far...
Re: [SC-02C] Any Rom Patcher by Simmo [Updated : 2013/01/28]

Trick is not to use titanium back up to restore data.
Btw how can I use other kernel ?
And any suggestion for battery
Now on wanamlite Rom with simmon tweak.

Run a disk checker.
If on windows. Mount as USB device.
Open a command window on the PX.
Run the command "chkdsk driveletter: /f"
That should fix it. If it says partition type is RAW, then something strange happened and it needs to be formatted.
If your internal /data partition is damaged, you need to do something different. Tell me a If that fixes your problem.

how is your battery consumption\ for wanamlite?
I know this rom is great but the battery really decrease too fast. Even I close the mobile data and wifi. It drops around 5% per hr. compared to cm9, it is far too high
XXLS8 has issues. the XXLSJ leak is much better actually.
I recommend going back to the leak or going to cm10.1
I am playing around with cm10.1 at the moment.
XXLS8 sucks.

I've been trying to download your tweaker on and off now for about two weeks. Tried different combinations with different browsers to no avail.
Every time I click on the file, it just opens up and shows the files in the zip. Its pretty to look at but .....
Can you not just upload to xda???

I had the same problem. It's not the zip file that is a problem - it's google drive
First, I am assuming that you are doing this from the phone itself.
I used Firefox and this is what you need to do -
1-Click the link to download the file and once you are in the directory where you see the zip click on it.
2-It will open and show you the contents of the zip - don't worry
3-Click the menu key on your phone and one of the choices listed will be show as desktop or something like that - click it
4-Let page reload
5-Now at the top of where the zip file is shown, you will see some menu choices - File Edit, etc.......
6-Click File and I think the bottom choice is download. Click that and it should download the zip file.
It will give it a random name but you should be able to get things figured out from here.
Please thank me below and make sure you get simon (or Me - haha) a beer.

FULL NOOB Custom ROM install Instructions
How to install a custom ROM, Hopefully without messing anything else up.
Follow ALL the directions carefully.
These instructions are intended to do a couple things.
1. Not mess up your stock ROM(assumed to be ICS 4.04 stock OTA)
2. Allow you to use 4 other ROM’s on systems 3-6.
3. Show you why you couldn’t figure this out from the normal forum posts that just simply say.
1. Wipe data/factory reset, cache and Dalvik cache
2. Install your ROM
3. Install gapps
4. Reboot and enjoy!NOW Let’s get started. Read through this once or twice before trying.
1. FULLY CHARGE YOUR PHONE BATTERY.(then come back)
2. On your phone Go to System Settings, More, Mobile Networks, Access Point Names, Copy down your APN settings. For AT&T USA they are as follows, AT&T US HSDPA, APN (phone), MCC (310), MNC (410), APN type (default, supl, agps, fota, dun), APN protocol (IPv4), APN enable/disable(APN enabled)
3. Connect your phone to your computer, choose Mass storage, USB storage. Let it install the drivers.
4. Switch the connection type to Media device, MTP and let it install the drivers.
5. Switch the connection type to Camera, PTP and let it install the drivers.
6. Create a folder on your computer, Example, D:\ROMS\SLIMKAT, D:\ROMS\CM11
7. Download the ROMs you want to their specific folders.
8. Download the rom specific GAPPs(Google Apps Package) to the same folder. Download any other packages that are needed to the same folder (mods/fixes).
9. Connect your phone as USB storage.
10. Copy the folder to your SD card.
11. Root your phone. As of 2/2/2014 If you are on stock ICS 4.0.4 the current way to root it is to use, Click_to_Root, Search the forum for the download, new_root_unroot_4.0.4_ics.rar
12. Download the Zip or RAR,
13. Extract it. The folder will look something like this D:\ROMS\new_root_unroot_4.0.4_ics.

I'm currently on a 2.3.6 ROM called VictoryROM 1.1 and when I search the play store I cannot find the BMM app. I used and still have Clockworkmod Recovery 5.02.5 installed which is what I used to flash victoryrom wayback when. I'm curious if I could use that recovery method to flash the new ROMs out nowadays, such as revolt or Unicorn.

Yep, but install BMM as most of these 4.4 ROMs are BMM. Read the guide and watch the videos before you mess up your phone. Beware installing them on system 1 or 2 unless you have a backup phone. They are not stable enough yet. Keep in mind they are still unofficial. So if you are wanting stable you might consider 4.3 Mokee or PAC MAN.

[Q] How to replace Stock ROM with CM11??

Hello Guyz,
I have a JB leak 3 in my Atrix 2.
I've recently flashed my system-3 with Cm11 Kitkat. The problem now is, I have a low System Space( to install Apps). I dont need JB anymore as am satisfied with the CM11. I thought formatting/destroying System-1(It contains JB Leak 3) would free up some space.I used BMM to format the System-1 which have the JB. now my phone Stucks at the Motorola Logo. I know that i can FXZ back to Stock and Install CM11 again. But wat I want is, Only Cm11 Shall be installed. I dont want stock.ROM in my phone. Simply, I wana replace my Stock with CM11.
Is it Possible ?? because I couldn't find ant posts/Topics similar to this.
Thanks a Ton in advance..
please Help me Guyz....
Waiting for a perfect Solution.

I recommend you to fxz first then do this just after a clean fxz to remove system 3 completely and have only system 1 activated.
simply when installing ROM don't create new partition, just go to "wipe and clean" while you're in system 1 and do the four wipes "data, cache, dalvik battery" then go to "install from zip file" and choose the ROM normally to begin install, after finishes go to system keeper and choose the first one "install BMM in main system" then Reboot.
For Complete set on how to replace your Stock with any ROM you want:

Who other roms can i install on system 1, and who are requirement? thx for your help :good::cyclops:
Yes, you can. In fact, I am using just System 1 (AOSB) as my daily ROM.
I don't know if this is required, but I'm always doing the following:
1. Format /system, /data, /cache
2. Wipe System, Cache, Dalvik Cache
3. Install ROM
4. Install GApps
I never had any problems since.
Goodluck mate!
Cheers,

I have never used any other system other than system 1 as daily driver..i don't know y ppl are so scared to flash..same time two years back we didn't even have a recovery on boot and still used to flash roms courtesy rdavisct, alteredlikeness, jimbridgman n co..this whole concept of multiple systems has made things more complicated than before it seems

Anyways, I never install BMM after flashing ROMs because it auto-installs after you press back from Install from Zip. Or maybe we just have different experiences regarding this.

Sorry to hear that.
So, are you saying that after you installed a ROM in System 1, you force-installed BMM again through System Keeper?
I think you need to FXZ back to stock ICS, then root, then install BMM from the market again.
I think I had the same experience back when I first got this phone and was still experimenting on stuffs.
Anyways, do you know how to FXZ back to stock ICS? There's a guide on how to do that here:

Dude you can flash ROM's on System 1 but please be careful as it will delete all other data on the other systems.
One more thing if your using altreds CM 11 use the BaNkS minimal gapps, It's not a problem to flash on the system 1, the thing is a failed flash can sometimes lead to you needing a FXZ, so just be careful on which ROM your flashing. :good:
I have little bit confusion. Please guide if these steps are correct:
1. Using BMM, format system 1 partition, data, cache.
2. Clean/wipe data, cache, battery, dalvik
3. Install ROM and GAPPs in system 1
4. system keeper > keep/install BMM
Are these steps correct?
Another question is if I want to install only one ROM in system 1 and want to use all available space for this setup then how to setup the partitions with maximum available space? Or I don't need to setup partitions?

No need to set partition sizes on system 1, that's solely for multi-booting ROMs on systems 3-6. Everything else is good though.

Thanks for the info, that was really helpful
But one confusion, I use BMM for flashing ROMs. And in case of BMM, we have to set partitions for system, data and cache. How to do that partitioning step in case if we want to flash ROM in the system 1 ? Won't we have to specify the sizes for all of those partitions?
Another question is, how to fully clean up the system 1 and free up whole ROM space before starting system 1 setup? I mean can I clean everything which came from factory before flashing on the system one to get as big as possible size of internal ROM for the system 1 setup? How much space we can get by doing that? Right now it shows around 2 GB available for user (apps and data) in the 4GB ROM of the Atrix 2, how much would it show in case of custom ROM flashing by freeing up whole space?

System 1 gets partitioned by flashing the FXZ so it's not necessary to do it with BMM. The best way to clean up system for flashing is to flash the FXZ first, then root and install BMM, etc. You can also use BMM to format system, data, cache and dalvik cache if you haven't created partitions for other systems. The only reason you will ever need to create partitions with BMM is to flash on systems 3-6.

Oh, I thought BMM will do it on sys 1 as well. I used sys 3 & 4 just to try out various ROMs without risking the stock system so that I can know which ROM suites me and later I can cleanup the whole system and put that ROM of my liking in the main system.
I am not familiar with FXZ method and it seems more complicated to me. isn't there any way to flash ROM on sys 1 and deleting the other partitions?
I am noob in this flashing thing and its been just 10-12 days since I started it up. the bmm method looked easy to me and I would prefer it if its possible to use for this purpose.

Flashing the FXZ is actually pretty simple. The main thing to know is which FXZ is the correct one for your phone. (Also it's a really good idea to find THAT out BEFORE you need it.) BMM is far more complicated and confusing IMHO.
Anyway, it's still possible to do a clean flash via BMM if that's what you're more comfortable with, though, so no worries. Just do a factory reset, which will format data, cache, and dalvik. Since that formats the data partition you will lose everything on any other existing systems. (though it may not always be necessary I normally format the system as well. DO NOT reboot at this point or you'll have no choice but to FXZ.) Then you just flash the zip plus gapps and whatever other mods you want. Personally I like to reboot between flashing each zip. In other words, I flash the ROM then reboot. Then gapps and reboot, etc. No repartitioning is necessary for flashing on system 1 and might actually be detrimental so just skip that.
Thanks a lot @1BadWolf, your post clears all doubts in my mind

Thanks for letting me know about no need of partitioning sys 1. If I wouldn't have been in this discussion with you, I would have ended up creating partitions on system 1 as well like what I have learnt to do on other systems and there would have been a thread by me on getting stuck in bootloop, you saved me from that.
To be bit on more safer side, let me put what I have understood so far:
1. Boot in BMM.
2. Factory reset on system one. (I have two other custom ROMs on system 3 and 4. will it also clear all the other ROMs installed on other systems also?
3. Format partitions on system one.
4. Clear system, data cache etc
5. Install ROM and GApps on system 1
6. Keep BMM in main system
7. Reboot and done
Is there anything broken or wrong in that chain?
One more query, can I keep continue installing ROMs on other systems like what I am doing right now in case of retaining stock ROM?

Going to flash this, love your work on layers. I'm sure I'm gonna enjoy this!
Edit: It booted, with a little bit of nostalgia, lollipop boot animation with a twist. nice! However it went straight into "android is optimizing" even after a clean flash. Will report back after I've played a little.

Edit: It booted, with a little bit of nostalgia, lollipop boot animation with a twist. nice! However it went straight into "android is optimizing" even after a clean flash. Will report back after I've played a little.

Did you make sure to wipe your caches? Coming from the factory image, you should mount your system in twrp, wipe it, wipe dalvik and dalik-caches and most likely data
I'm working on fixing the camera, didn't realize it was broken till I took a actual picture (I just loaded it up and checked but didn't take a picture)

We used to have to change out some files on the n5, probably is that.
I'll take a look into it later

? Android pay works by cts verification, people are having a hard enough time on even keeping it working on stock with root, it will be a long while till we get it on working on aosp.
Been running it for few hours now, no major bugs so far.
Missing the camera app in the rom tho.
Using snap camera and it is as good as the stock one

I remove old aosp apps since most people replace them with Google apps or equivalent, that includes aosp browser, MMS, and a few others which is pretty standard in aosp ROMs since the apps still look like ics (I kept gallery because quickpic was bought out)
