[SC-02C] Any Rom Patcher by Simmo [Updated : 2013/06/16] - Miscellaneous Android Development

Simmo's SC-02C Any Rom Patcher
with special thanks to wjchen0 for the ntt gps kernel module
Tested and working with ICS and JB 4.1.x
JB 4.2 works, but requires a Siyah based kernel or a kernel designed specificially for the SC-02C, such as KBC.
Please press the Thanks button if it works for you.
Code:
Modem: SC02C-OMLPL
Apps: ClockworkMod SuperUser
Busybox
Tweaks: Set NTP server (jp.pool.ntp.org)
Free tethering (tether_dun_required=0)
NTT GPS & compass fix
Facebook ContactsProvider database patch (is_restricted=0)
Black camera viewfinder fix for the Docomo rom
CyanogenMod APN xml (with spmode)
Samsung JellyBean fonts (incl. Japanese)
SP-Mode Mail with Push & Docomo Account Authenticator
Docomo emoji library
How to get a working JellyBean rom.
Root your phone and install a custom kernel. Reboot into CWM.
Download a custom rom. I recommend WanamLite or NeatRom.
Download my tweaker.
Install the rom first, then my tweaker.
Reboot, then you're done.
Note : You must install the tweaker every time you do a full wipe.
If you are running Jelly Bean then you can install CommuniCase by Docomo, instead of using SP-Mode Mail.
Changes:
2013/06/16
Updated the DcomoAccountAuthenticator to work with Docomo CommuniCase.
Added support for Docomo emojis in keyboard that use it.
Reverted to the OMLPL modem, as I found it works better.
2013/02/04
Updated the system modules and modem from the latest OMMP4 rom.
2013/01/28
The gps module has a bug that cuases the system to hang at the docomo logo.
You must install this new update to stop it happening.
If you already have the "stuck at docomo logo" problem, download the new tweaker and install on top. It deletes the corrupted file.

Works great
Great tweak. Working for me so far and I had a few issues myself. I will say that in order to get the ROM (I'm using Wanamlite 14.0 and the 23 Toggles) and the tweaker working properly I did have to do a full wipe.
I will just recommend that anyone who wants this to work BACKUP - BACKUP - BACKUP.
I also used Titanium Backup (correctly - Thanks Simmo :silly: ) to backup all user apps. Don't worry about the system apps - the ROM takes care of them.
My order of installation -
1 - BACKUP your current ROM - again - BACKUP your current ROM
2 - Use Titanium Backup (use this guide) to back up your user apps so you can get them back afterwards. When using Titanium Backup for the first time on a new ROM, you may get the message about using the phone's original ID, ignore it, let it use the new one.
3 - Follow SimmoF's instructions in the first post
4 - Reboot and enjoy.
Thanks again to SimmoF - buy him a beer.

Then it obviously appears that it is not the ROM or the tweaker causing the problem. Please be sure that you have the right Tweaker B version and boot into recovery and run it through again.
If not, I would say try again but after the ROM installs let it reboot before installing everything else. Run through the google setup stuff, don't do the samsung stuff, skip it.
Then go in and only restore user apps. I always thought I knew Titanium Backup well, but, as Simmo pointed out to me, I was wrong. Go ahead and JUST RESTORE YOUR USER APPS - NO SYSTEM APPS OR DATA. You may also have to go in and set your apn to the spmode.ne.jp .
This is what worked for me. After you have done that and just the ROM and your restoration works, test with a few reboots. Then go and get the tweaker file again. Just to be safe.
I know that, myself, if I let everything settle and check for running operation, then install the 23 toggles, tweaks and sp push files, it works.
If you get stuck at the boot logo AND you have downloaded the Tweaker B version of the file before wiping again - try to boot into recovery and just run the tweaker file as suggested.
DON'T GIVE UP!!!
It's a very smooth ROM. So far...

Re: [SC-02C] Any Rom Patcher by Simmo [Updated : 2013/01/28]
Finally set up everything.
Trick is not to use titanium back up to restore data.
Btw how can I use other kernel ?
And any suggestion for battery
Now on wanamlite Rom with simmon tweak.

Run a disk checker.
If on windows. Mount as USB device.
Open a command window on the PX.
Run the command "chkdsk driveletter: /f"
That should fix it. If it says partition type is RAW, then something strange happened and it needs to be formatted.
If your internal /data partition is damaged, you need to do something different. Tell me a If that fixes your problem.

how is your battery consumption\ for wanamlite?
I know this rom is great but the battery really decrease too fast. Even I close the mobile data and wifi. It drops around 5% per hr. compared to cm9, it is far too high

XXLS8 has issues. the XXLSJ leak is much better actually.
I recommend going back to the leak or going to cm10.1
I am playing around with cm10.1 at the moment.
XXLS8 sucks.

Re: [SC-02C] Any Rom Patcher by Simmo [Updated : 2013/02/04]
I've been trying to download your tweaker on and off now for about two weeks. Tried different combinations with different browsers to no avail.
Every time I click on the file, it just opens up and shows the files in the zip. Its pretty to look at but .....
Can you not just upload to xda???

I had the same problem. It's not the zip file that is a problem - it's google drive
First, I am assuming that you are doing this from the phone itself.
I used Firefox and this is what you need to do -
1-Click the link to download the file and once you are in the directory where you see the zip click on it.
2-It will open and show you the contents of the zip - don't worry
3-Click the menu key on your phone and one of the choices listed will be show as desktop or something like that - click it
4-Let page reload
5-Now at the top of where the zip file is shown, you will see some menu choices - File Edit, etc.......
6-Click File and I think the bottom choice is download. Click that and it should download the zip file.
It will give it a random name but you should be able to get things figured out from here.
Please thank me below and make sure you get simon (or Me - haha) a beer.

Is TouchWiz AppDrawer pinched to zoom out animation smooth on this version? Any ext4 CWM/CF-ROOT released for XXKPE previously has this problem.
EDIT: Your tar file is much smaller? How did you do it?
Brilliant!
Btw, any possible issues installing this after the rooting has been done by old CWM+SOC+reflash new normalboot.img method?
nice work mate
Pressing the home button instantly reboots the phone after I flashed this over XXKPH.
LE: Nevermind, seems to be a one time issue, everything works fine now. Phone rooted. Thanks!
Thanks a lot man!
@thedirtchamber: Launcher problems / inconsistencies. Need more details mate. What mods have you done? Using some other launcher? Theme?

No mods, using Launcher Ex, no themes. Like I said, happened only after first boot. I got into the settings menu, then I wanted to go back to the home screen using the phone button and it rebooted almost instantly (the image faded for 2 seconds before it rebooted).

Sorry for that Skin1980. I was in a hurry to get my hands dirty on XXKPH. I have my own version of CWM, where I am doing more things like 2nd partition in External SD, EXT4 on internal and external SD, Busybox 1.19, etc.
I have a different version of CWM version created for public, as I have very different setup from the rest.
I really liked your work on CF-Root, so I thought of including that as well and also provide you necessary credit.
Also, I am in the process of porting CyanogenMod for I9003 (still a long way to go), in which I would be creating a different version of CF-Root.
I am going to remove the CF-Root portion from my version of CWM and will post this soon (Removing the current CWM version from this thread, for now).
You are correct, I could have contacted you. Sorry again for that.

As long as your device is supported by Team WIN, you can now flash TWRP from this app.
FAQS
Q. Does this app support multiple zip queues?
A. As of version 5.2 it does
Q. Should I wipe/backup before installing?
A. The app is intuitive and allows for backup and wiping from the install option.
Q. Some of the features do not work, what should I do?
A. If you get a message that says it is not implemented, it is not a bug. That is for future releases. If you get a force close or other issue, please let us know.
Q. Will this work with other recoveries?
A. No. TWRP Manager is programmed to run on TWRP only
Q. My device is not supported by TWRP, is there anything I can do?
A. If you do not have TWRP running on your phone, this app will not work for you.
Q. Will this app install TWRP for me?
A. There are no current plans to have this feature. Goo.im already does this and we do not want to step on any toes.
Awesome job, the UI looks great also!
Good job JMZ!!!
Great job it looks better and is more functional than goomanager.

[DISCONTINUED] ROM Max Flavour for ZTE V967S v5

DISCONTINUED.
DISCLAIMER:
Rooting your phone and using custom Recoveries and ROMS have risks and may result in bricking your device, and has nothing to do with Google or the device manufacturers. In case of any mishap I am not responsible if you brick/ruin your phone in any way.
Basic computer skills are required and minimal knowledges about phones and phones utilities too.
Make sure that whatever you do, you are doing it at your own responsibility.
Max Flavour is an optimized ROM, prepared from 1.0.5 stock version.
Update 12.02.2014
- built again from scratch
- fast, smooth and stable
- multilingual (as all my ROMs)
- improved and optimized
- deodexed, zipaligned, init.d support
First boot will take a little bit more time because of the deodexed system, but be patient.
Update 24.11.2013 CHANGELOG
- added version Max Flavour Slim 4.2 with stock launcher replaced by Touchwiz launcher at your request.
=> This version has to be installed with a clean install.Update 16.11.2013 CHANGELOG
- fixed shutanimation loop and also bootanimation.
- hide big 3G/G network type icons from status bar.
- add email and browser alternative apps.
- cleaned up build.prop.
=> This version can be installed over the previous but clean cache and dalvik cache before install.Update 12.11.2013 CHANGELOG
- new implementation of the stock ROM base with translations from official Mediatek language folders. This version is more accurate, but not all languages are translated complete, so you have to accept that.
- various fixes: brightness and autobrightness, screen colors and depth, GPS (new fix), network, tethering, sounds, callerID matching, and some others.
- fixed computer connection as USB Mass storage in any windows (no ZTE drivers needed).
- optimizations for ram, kernel, cache.
- more speed and smoothness.
- some UI improvements, like autohide empty SIM symbol, wallpapers.
- for GPS all needed files are included.
- for adblocker, the hosts file is properly configurated.
Gapps are included in essential version. You can flash "Gapps to complete zip" to get full suite.
INSTALL INSTRUCTION:
To flash a new ROM properly, you need one of my recoveries (for these I'm sure they works).
1. Reboot to recovery.
2. Do a nandroid backup or backup in cwm.
3. mount USB Mass Storage and delete from sdcard these three directories:
.android_secure
Android
LOSTDIR
4. Copy ROM zip or zips on sdcard
5. Eject mass storage from computer and then unmount in recovery
6. wipe all/factory reset or pre-flash wipe in recovery
7. wipe or erase dalvik cache
8. flash zip from sdcard, choose ROM zip, flash it and reboot, or if you flash my ROM version 3.3, the phone will reboot itself.
That's all, this is the correct way to flash any new ROM in any phone thru recovery.
QUICK GPS FIX:
If you want to quick fix gps, do all steps from this post, without downloading MobileUncle - is already installed in ROM.
For extending data partition, please refer to this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44321463&postcount=3

These are based on stock ROM. LewaOS is in CWM thread.
friend, is just an idea.Your custom Rom is wonderful, works fine, but could you make a clean rom ? there are applications that you install on your custom rom and I not use.
Best regards!

If is not a system app you can uninstall it from settings apps downloaded.
If is a system app, easy way is to use ESFileManager as root explorer and R/W Mounted all, access /system/app, select unwanted apk and corespondent odex and delete. After that reboot and done. But, gapps apps tends to FC if are not all installed (especially in JB), Facebook and tweeter won't work if they are not in system, and any other app I put there has a specific purpose. And you don't know how many people ask me for facebook, tweeter, g-plus, etc. I don't use any of these, and neither gapps, but I have to put in ROM what most of users want. Also, there is an app on playstore, Rom Customizer that let you uninstall system apps in a correct way, even they are odexed.
:good:

Try to exclude MobileUncle when you do old backup, or delete it first, because in new version I put a modded version of MobileUncle. I decompiled app to remove chinese gps fix, and replaced with european one.
Now, when you start MobileUncle, in Power gps menu if you initiate GPS set it will load european fix version.
And other thing you have to do, download the ROM again. Seems that yesterday links were corrupted somehow (during upload or in Drive, I don't know), MobileUncle and Ygps lost their permissions and even they are in ROM, don't start. I checked after someone pointed that to me, and I uploaded links again. Now they are ok.

No, it doesn't. It's a simple app with fewer option than stock camera, but I think it slightly increase photos quality. But I provided solution to restore stock camera.

You can change that if you install xposed framework of rovo89 and gravity box module of C3C076, but I modded specialy that with full charging animation, so it's no need to activate battery percentage from settings to see battery state. I changed correspondent xmls to provide full range. In stock version that covers only few stages, 0-15-28-43-57-71-85-100. I added suport for 0-1-2-3........-100 like in cyanogenmod.

Hi, wow very interesting!!! I have never used this before,(gravity box module / xposed framework)
That is the tool I was looking for, many thanks :good::good::good:
The rom is very smooth, and very faster loading his icons, now i gonna try to increase userdata partition.
1 question, on a system with 2.5 userdata when you flash a new normal rom do the userdata back to normal or stay the userdata on 2.5?

If the new ROM is a normal one your partition will remain 2.5 (check zip without unpacking and see if there is EBR1 and EBR2 inside - if you see these check ROM specifications, because these binaries are for extending data partition or for restore to normal). If inside ROM zip there isn't any EBR, you are safe, it's normal ROM, and you can flash it with no impact for data partition.
thanks my friend for new release 3.3
I want to ask about
2. Do a nandroid backup or backup in cwm.
3. mount USB Mass Storage and delete from sdcard
these three directories:
.android_secure
Android
LOSTDIR
how to do a full backup in CWM? give us details
and I mount usb mass storage and I am in CWM. How to delete these 3 folders ?
you have the camera from which model of Lenovo? is it better than stock camera?

[ROM] [5.0.1] [I9502] sasiskas ROM For Galaxy S4 Duos [CUSTOM]

sasiskas 5.0.1 ROM for Galaxy S4 DUOS I9502
First of all, let me tell you the story and the philosophy behind this ROM.
The story: One month ago I bought an I9502 because it was the best dual sim phone for it's price. Unfortunately it is oriented for the Chinese market so it is full of Chinese customizations and apps. And since there are no International-oriented custom lollipop roms available, I decided to create one by my own.
The philosophy: The rom is based on my personal preferences, I just share it because why not! Since I am not a samsung software fan, I removed almost every samsung bloatware. And Obviously removed all the chinese crap and customized everything I could in order to make the rom more international.
The ROM is based on a the latest I9502ZNUJOC3 firmware. In order to save some time I found the official ROM Deodexed from romzj.com and customized it to my personal taste.
CUSTOMIZATIONS
Deodexed (by romzj)
Busyboxed (by romzj)
Rooted (by romzj)
Replaced Boot animation from China Unicom to Samsung
Removed almost all Samsung apps
Removed all Chinese apps
Added Google apps
Xposed
Camera shutter sound on/off
Added advanced power menu
3minitBattery
Network Stats On status bar (settings->connections->more networks->Network Traffic)
Removed Baidu location consent
Replaced location service from baidu to google
Removed SIM icon from status bar in order to save some space
Removed Sfinder and Quick connect from Pull down menu
In SMS app, replaced sharing location from mo.maps.com to google maps
Replaced Chinese keyboard with multilingual S6 Keyboard (all languages available)
Replaced file manager with S6 file manager
Added optical reader from S6
Added weather from S6
Added KidsMode from S6
Removed Chinese search engines from stock browser
Maybe something else that I don't remember
All languages are supported.
Modified SMS/MMS app, Replaced sharing location feature from chinese maps to google maps
Removed Airplane mode confirmation dialog
Added Application Permission option (app ops) in settings->more->security
KNOWN ISSUES
If you go to "settings->security->sim change alert" the settings app will crash. Generally some items in settings menu are not working because they are linked to Samsung Account, this happens because I removed Samsung Account, I left the settings there in case someone wants to reinstall Samsung Account.
After boot, Touchwiz might crash one time. I'm not sure what causes this issue, but I don't mind since I use Nova Launcher. If you want you can help me find the source of the problem. Fixed in version 1.1
Messaging app crashes Fixed in version 1.2
Contacts not recognized in messages or when receiving a call. Fix according to your country.
Generally the rom is VERY stable, and I have no issues so far.. (I use it since July 2015)

I'm not sure. I have heard of people using i9500 roms on i9502 devices, but never heard of someone using i9502 rom on a i9500 device.
Doesn't work
it doesn't work ....... i tried it with TWRP and try the buckup in the Recovery .... evrything goes well but after restarting Phone nothing happen ...... just Black screen

You can't because you dont have enough free space.
You must flash stock ROM, then root, then remove as many Chinese and Samsung apps as possible, then install "Gapps 5.0.x PICO" .
Pico is the smallest version of Gapps ( including only basics google apps) , but it is ok, you can install any google app you like, later from google play store.

It is strange when i unpack your rom on my SD twrp is not seeing it as a backup.
I had to make a backup and then delete everyting from that folder then put your files inside and only then i can do a restore, but restore fails.
I will try once more. I follow your instructions to the letter but for some reason it is not working for me.

That happens because TWRP sees only the content of TWRP folder that is generated inside your SDcard. I should have mention that but I forgot.

Did you try the second method I described? it should work.
Sorry for the trouble but I don't have a second device to try it, and on my device it works fine.
Awaiting your feedback
Ok first because i didn't had lollipop flashed only bootloader and twrp after. When i tried to restore twrp didn't see your folder so i made a small backup first and i then deleted it and moved your files into that folder. Twrp then saw the files and it restored boot, preload but when it starts to restore system it has some strange progression, it starts from 0MB to 172836928327MB and it is always on 0% no matter how much MB it restores, it reaches around 1500MB then it reports Failure. I will try again and will post the log.
Also when it failed first time i have downloaded full rom from your post, i have updated the phone, it boots normally. Same china baidu crap all over it. I again flashed twrp and repeated the procedure.
Wipe data / cache. Wipe system and i try restore but it fail again.

I juts tried it and it works fine for me.
I'm uploading a new Version V1.1. You should better try the new version.
This time it is complete backup, not just system
It is not compressed, maybe the compression was causing problems
Fixed some bugs from previous version
And I'm also trying to find a way to make my ROM as a flashable zip, for easier installation, but I have no idea how to do it at the moment.
can you confirme that more locale is working??

Partition Ares 8 Tablet Linux and Windows script.

This is a guide to partition your ares 8, could be used on other intel tablets, you would need your own files though.
Anyway download https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24438995911969251 extract to your computer, you need to have adb and fastboot set up and running on your computer.
Inside ares8_resize_partions.zip you will find several files, if linux user you will use fastboot.sh windows user you will use fastboot_cmd.bat.
Set permissions on files as needed, commands can be typed via hand if you choose not to run script, simply copy and paste in terminal window.
First use twrp to make a backup, back up data, system, boot.
once done boot into bootloader, open terminal window use either fastboot.sh, fastboot_cmd.bat or copy and paste commands in terminal. Note in Linux I simple drag and drop fastboot.sh into open terminal window, should be able to do same for windows with fastboot_cmd.bat.
Once partition is done, you are still in bootloader select to reboot to recovery, from there restore your backup and reboot.
I have made a smaller version of i708q rom I call BatVille, also made another partition.tbl just for BatVille rom
BatVille is just a smaller versions of I708Q rom, I added BatMan live wallpaper, It uses Nova Launcher, I removed a lot of stuff from i708q rom, to get BatVille rom small and still working as it should.
You can install BatVille without partitioning if you like, if you want to partition then install, that is the method I use.
To install partition just like above but use BatVille's partition.tbl instead of one above, when you are done partitioning reboot into recovery instead of restoring backup flash BatVille.zip and then flash SuperUser zip to get root, then reboot setup as normal.
Make sure to download and place BatVille.zip on external micro sdcard, internal sdcard will be formatted.
Download BatVille
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24438995911970819
Download BatVille partition.tbl
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24438995911970829
extract and rename batpartition.tbl to partition.tbl, replace the partition.tbl in ares8_resize_partions with this one before use.
Download SuperSU-v2.46.zip
https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/
Place both BatVille.zip and UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip on micro sdcard.
reboot to recovery
factory Reset
select install zip
BatVille.zip
Add more Zips
UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
reboot
Takes time before rom boots first time allow ten minutes or so.
I want to add more to /data than you added, and you said to edit partition.tbl if we want to change the sizes. Can you help me with editing it?

No, I have enough work to do myself, lf you look at stock and my modified one, you will see where I pulled from, cache and system then added the difference to data.
Added small rom BatVille and uploaded another partition.tbl just for BatVille rom.
Installed BatVille with the new partition table & it works great. Very small footprint and bloat is gone. I attempted a Titanium Backup, but the ext SD card isn't writable in Lollipop, so I resorted to backing up on internal memory and manually copying it to extSD. Although I was able to copy the backup and subsequently was able to copy it back to the Titanium folder on the internal memory after BatVille was installed, TB still refuses to see the files.
This is not a complaint, only a heads-up. Google had already restored all my market apps, and I only had 3 non-market apps installed (F-Droid and 2 Amazon market apps).

There is an app on playstore called NextApp SDFIX, that will change permissions on platform.xml to allow writing to external sdcard, so you can backup directly to external sdcard.
I just tested it, and it works, platform.xml needs to be edited, the above app will do that, then just reboot.

I tried to install the BatVille rom, coming from the i708 rom you posted the other day, I used the new TWRP, but the tablet gets hung u on the i708 screen. I have "dirty flashed" it, installed from a factory reset, and tried after wiping tablet completely, nothing worked. The i708 rom is much improved over the stock rom, thank you greatly for it

No ideal, you are flashing both BatVille and SuperSu before first boot?
https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/
I factory reset.
Place both BatVille.zip and UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip on micro sdcard.
reboot to recovery
select install zip
BatVille.zip
Add more Zips
UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
reboot
Not sure what I did wrong the first time, but it works great now. On a side note, your original i708Q rom for the ares 8 paritally works for the ares 11, the touchscreen doesnt work, but I downloaded a force rotation program from the playstore, the keyboard and mouse works perfectly well, even without the touch screen, it still runs better than the stock rom, thanks @vampirefo .

Touch working on Ares 11?
Thanks, vampirefo, touch screen seems to work perfectly. Much appreciated. Except for the forced rotation program, ( which doesn't bother me in the slightest) it seems like the ares 11 is now on android 5.1.1 as well!

Try disabling the HW overlays in Developer options. That fixed rotation issues on the Ares 8.
I disabled the HW overlays, that took away the need for the forced rotation app, but once I enabled auto rotate thru the accessibility tab, the screen, inverted, stayed upside down when I went into portrait mode. I held the table upside down, then disabled the auto rotation so that when I docked it to the keyboard, the screen was right side up. The rotation, for me isn;t an issue, since I rarely take the tablet off the keyboard. Touchscreen still works, I am much happier with this "version" of the tablet, than stock, even after I had Xposed and the memory leak fix installed. now is is much smoother and faster.
