Hi, I have searched for days on here and other sites for instructions on how to replace the digitizer on my 7 pro but with no success.
I did read somewhere that someone managed to remove and replace it by using a hair dryer to heat the glue that holds it on and remove it without disassembling the whole phone but could not find any further info and cannot find the post anymore ether!
Can anyone please help me with this as my screen stops responding randomly, locking and unlocking it resolves the issue temporarily but it always returns sooner or later and I have found that putting pressure on the screen in a certain way also makes it work again so I'm ordering a new digitizer from eBay.
I have found the guides for disassembling the main part of the phone but there seems to be nothing on the actual screen part of the handset!
Any help on this would be gratefully received!
Thanks in advance, Steve.

i dropped my Fuze today and i cracked the screen. I'm trying to figure out if its the digitizer that cracked or the LCD can anyone tell me how to check. The screen looks fine when i have it on the black background its hardly noticeable, but when I text you can tell its cracked pretty nicely. I can still use it and see everything just that it annoying and want to get it fixed. They sell them on Ebay for pretty cheap (digitizer that is). i also was wondering if anyone knew where to find instructions on replacing the digitizer I can't seem to find anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks
Post some pictures up. Maybe someone can help by looking at it.
regardless if its just the digitizer or the screen, from what I've read, its easier to probably change them both. You're looking at a cost of no more then $100. That's a little bit over what you can find them for on the bay. i dont think the digitizer was actually meant to be easily disassembled at our level. If you need help disassembling your TP otherwise though, try mikechannon.net
I'll have pictures up tonight....
I just figured it out that its the touchscreen itself... The LCD is intact because there is not bleeding of any sort..... Does anyone know of a place that repairs this sort of thing?
Not recommended to separate digitizer with the lcd. It has a special glue (more like clear double tape) to attach them together that really really sticks. I tried to separate them with cutter blade and crack the lcd. There was an advise I read on the internet somewhere to use dental floss. Try google it.
And be careful of choosing the replacement, you could end up with this problem. Well ... I did....
I just got my digitizer in the mail and contemplating doing the repair myself.... has anyone done it or can point me to the right direction to just replace the digitizer?
Good Luck .....
Below are pictures of the result. I don't know the correct procedures of separating those two.
Just .... don't do my mistakes.
Good Luck.
Dear All,
I was having a very wonderful time with my desire S untill recently when something went bad with my saga that the right edge of the touchscreen did not respond. After a few days, the left edge stopped responding as well.
I searched XDA and googled for the problem and I came to know that replacing digitizer helps. My LCD is very much fine and I'm hopeful replacing just the digitizer will help. I've ordered one from Amazon and I'll be performing the replacement myself, referring youtube videos.
Could anyone please share their experience on replacement of digitizer or problems similar to me?
Thanks.
I did that a while ago... Though i had a cracked digitizer instead od an unresponsive one... You should be fine with the video guides. Some of the parts (like the camera cover) will put some resistance though. You'll also need to be careful with the screen as it is glued to the frame. If you will, you should be able to reuse it and watch out for the cable

It's a fairly easy procedure and I have done it on a couple of DSs before.
Just do yourself a favour - take it slowly and follow the instructions closely. Especially when it comes to heating the old tape to separate the digitiser and the LCD - if you try to force it off at all you run a very real risk of cracking the LCD as it's a fragile bit of kit.
I have the dreaded "dust under screen" issue on my Sensation and getting too bad to ignore. I know there are many threads here and videos online for REPLACING the digitizer. As the digitizer is not damaged i want to lift it, clean and refit with 3M double sided tape. I cant find any video on removing and refiting without replacing the digitizer.
Does anyone know if:
The digitizer can be romoved without damaging the cable?
Remove without damaging/distorting the digitizer when seperating from the screen?
Can the digitzer be lifted off screen without disassembling the phone? (Preferred option)
I have searched and cant find any info both on XDA and elsewhere. I know the digitizers can be bought cheaply but id rather not have to take the phone apart to replace it.
it took me 1min to google for this

I guess you misread my post..... it would have taken less than a minute to read it properly.
I see lots of videos and info on replacing the digitizer but i dont want to do that. I asked for info on removing/lifting the digitizer without having to fit a new one. I want to know if anyone has done this without damaging the digitizer taking it apart from the screen. I have searched LOTS for the relevant ino but cant find answers.

As shown in the many online videos and like the link posted above. Just dont cut the ribbon cable.
I bought a toolkit and 3m tape online. Really the only tools needed are a guitar pick(for seperating lcd/digitizer), torx bit, small flat screw driver or similar for prising plastic motherboard cover and a bic pen cap for lifting ribbon cable connectors and pulling cable out.
Must be disassembled as the digitizer cable has little slack for it to be lifted, Make sure you heat well with a hair dryer (heatgun not needed) and dont push the guitar pick too far in as it spreads the adhesive onto the lcd and back of digitizer. Be extra careful at the top corners as I slightly marked the area inside top left border. It can be hard cleaning both surfaces, if u ever fit a screen protector you will know what I mean, just twice as hard.
Powered up first time but left side of keyboard numbers were not working and screen was a bit slow to respond. Stripped phone again to check digitzer cable connections and all were ok.
Flashed a calibration file found on this site and its working fine now. S-OFF and Super CID are required for this so best to do before you start.
Note: Dust was getting in both sides on mine and gathering in the centre. When I cleaned the LCD I noticed, under the heavy dust gathered in the centre, the screen was permanently marked. I guess screen was burned but it cant be seen when the screen is on.

I allready had the screen replaced one time because of dust. Second time because my phone got sunburned (see sig.) and because dust and now on my "new"device I'm seeing dust again. Getting really tired of it. Haven't had a 100% good phone for 1 day during the first of 2 years contract

Except HTC never fixes this problem. Everytime I sent my phone to them, they just keep cleaning out the dust, nut of course it fills up with dust in a matter of weeks again.
Bought another phone off eBay, haven't looked back since. No dust, no nothing.

I bought my Sensation used so I had no receipt. Would probably have to go back to stock, S-ON, be without phone for a few weeks etc which was just too much hassle.
Really wasn't too much trouble and it can be done in 20mins.
Can anyone please help me find a replacement screen on my AT&T phone? every screen I find is a 15-28 day shipping date, and the only one I found that ships reasonably, the cable that connects so the touch screen works, it didn't fit my phone. anyone please help!!!
bought mine on ebay, it works but I'm having issues due to the nature of the install I had to re-use the mounting from the old screen and the old adhesive was so hard to get off and the new adhesive I bought on amazon wasn't sticky enough and when I tried to reset the mount the glass separated from the digitizer slightly! ugh.....
might I suggest reading this post - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2164760
and buying your screen from this site - http://www.etradesupply.com/oem-htc...t-housing-and-light-guide-with-at-t-logo.html
should be in stock...
Hello,
I recently had a very unlucky fall (angle, missed case) that cracked my Asus Zenfone 6 ZS630KL's screen and LCD. The replacement parts are currently in transit, but I'm having a hard time understanding the necessary replacement procedure -- it seems in some phones its possible to start from the front, removing the glass first, and in other phones one must start from the back and remove the screen last. I have found two teardown videos for this phone, they start from the back, but these are not geared towards screen replacement.
Can anyone advise? I hope my confusion is understood/clear. Can I replace the screen without a full back-to-front teardown?
Thanks!
How did the repair work out? Did you start from front or back?
I broke my screen too.
