SPG Ultra Flip View - Galaxy S 4 Accessories

http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/samsung/galaxy-s4-cases/galaxy-s4-case-ultra-flip-view.html
Looks nice, but why did they leave a corner and the bottom exposed?

It's my understanding that the corner that is unprotected is that way because that is where the location of the phones antenna is. It's cutout to reduce/eliminate interference.

I have been thinking about that exposed corner some more and I have come to the realization that that is most likely the location of the ir sensor for the TV Remote functionality.

The IR is right on top of the phone on the right side. It's the 5-6mm glossy black dot. It's not on the corner.

You beat me to it.

Some versions (Korean I think) have a TV tuner requiring a telescopic antenna. The cutout is to allow it to extend.

Okay. I don't have an s4 yet. So I was simply going off my little to no knowledge

I don't think I would have bought the phone if it had a telescoping antenna. Glad I got the ir model

The rubbish case I bought has this "feature". Here's a picture from the manufacturer site showing the antenna:

In Korea most smartphones can play live TV that's broadcasted but you need a antenna to get a signal, basically the cutout let's you extend out that antenna
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Yes, all Korean smartphones have TV antennas that let you watch live TV anywhere you want.
Its called DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting)
I believe Spigen will update with a international version of the case.

Hey All.
I have a vinyl cutter and have made some protection pieces to go over the rear casing of my own Xoom. I used clear vinyl for the bottom section and a matt black to go around the top matt black band around the camera and button etc.
There is nothing to stop me cutting these pieces in coloured vinyl film or the 3D carbon fibre look film.
If there is any interest, as I can make and sell these, I will cut some in a coloured vinyl and post some pictures.

I saw the tutorial for this online, on instructables.
Holds the nexus 4 (with and without a tpu case) pretty well both in landscape and portrait.
All you'll need is 10 minutes, 6 pencils, 8 rubber bands and 2 paper clips.

Hahah cool, looks funky but I guess it works. Heres the one I made for myself, using random parts I had laying around:
http://vikramkhalsa.com/?p=889
The electronics don't do anything, they're just used for the construction and looks. Probably hard to imitate but every one can be unique! I put an NFC tag on it so it changes my settings for work automatically ( wifi, silent, etc..)
Oh and it works in landscape too.

thanks! The bottom one is from an old optical mouse, and the top/back one is from some switch controller on those baby swing things. I just kept them in my box of junk materials and eventually found some use for them. Then I just put 2 LEDs on the front to keep the phone from falling. They're not actually connected to anything, they just fit the theme
It would be really cool if it had wireless charging.. was thinking of buying one and putting it into this.. but they're expensive :/

gap between frame and body of my galaxy s6 at the lower right corner

There should be no gaps between the frame and screen.. You should return it to place of purchase or warranty claim it they Samsung.

I'll have you know that is a Note 2. As you can see, the back cover is plastic (just in case the OP blocking the number suffixing "Note" wasn't shady enough). It resembles the Note 2's plastic very much.
For further proof, the 1st (from the left)white circle is a Notification LED, the second set is the proximity sensor and something else idk what the name is, and the last is of course the camera itself. If you don't believe me, you can try to check the Note 2 front panel for yourself.
Nice try OP.

Any way to customize the led on this case? When I first installed it, it prompted me to download additional stuff to enable more features I guess, but I don't see anything new. Since then, I removed and reapplied the case the download message never came up again.

I bought this case. It is kind of tacky, but it does work with a tempered glass screen protector [which is the most important part].
The LEDs make for a good conversation piece, but that's about it. I probably overpaid and have some buyer's remorse, but function trumps style in this case.
