Quick Social is, for now, available only in English and Polish. But now, when I see how many of you speak different languages, I decided to let you translate Quick Social into your language! It's not a lot of work and you don't have to translate everything at once.
Quick Social uses GetLocalization for translations. It's pretty simple - login, click on (or add if it's not listed) your language, translate.
Click here to translate Quick Social!
Thanks!

Great, Polish App for all :silly:

Nice app
I tested it before. Really nice app, it makes sharing very easy. Worth every penny!

Simple, but extremely useful app. Especially when you're a social-media addict (everybody is) Definitely worth buying!

Very cool! Here the twitter icon is "t"... As I leave same as the the screenshot?

Nice app, looking forward for some mod to make panel height smaller

Nice app.
Any chance you could implement a way to post to all three if one chooses, ie a fourth button that would then open up for text which would then be posted to all three services?

It's already on our TO-DO list, just be patient

Thought I'd share that I just used this on my new phone for the first time. I tried to post to facebook and it force closed
Sent from my awesome HTC One

The issue that I am facing is that when I use the app from notification drop down to post to FB, it force closes while sending the message. The work around is that to go to main app in App drawer and click to open it once and then close it. Now come back to app in notification drop down and try posting again and it works like a charm. Confirmed this a couple of times.
Now, this defeats the purpose of the app. If I have open the main app every time for app to work, then it's no more a Quick Social for me. Wasted my money.

Why didn't you try the free version first? In any case, I'm pretty sure you could get a refund if you want the 99 cents back.
Sent from my awesome HTC One

Honestly speaking, I am not at all interested in getting the money back. It's not about the money, it's about the satisfaction with the product. I tried the free version and it worked. Like I told you the app works flawlessly if you open and close the main app from the app drawer. So since I had just downloaded the free app and configured it before trying to post, it worked like a charm. Presuming everything is ok, I bought the paid version. Later I realised the above mentioned issue, when the main app is not touched for a while and then you try posting from notification drop down and it force closes on you.
Ideally, logically speaking, the main app is not even required to be touched unless and until some configuration needs to be changed. That's what Quick Social is. But here, I don't know why the app in not performing the way it should.
Also, what is more important for me is to have the issue rectified and getting it to work flawlessly. I had downloaded the app for a purpose and would be extremely happy if that purpose gets fulfilled. I am high user of FB and this app sounded like a blessing in disguise for me.

Hey man, have you read the app description? If you face any problem, just send a bug report (if the app force closed) or let us know by sending an email. We'll fix it as soon as possible!

A stupid question.. But how do you send a bug report. Whenever I get a FC, I press the report option and it sends the report to Google

ICS SMS Popup is a simple app that will easily allow you to view and reply to incoming text messages from a pop up dialog. Now you can read and even reply to incoming text messages with out ever having to leave your current activity! Find it annoying to leave in the middle of a task just to view a new message? Try out ICS SMS Popup to solve that problem with a simple solution!
★ Android 4.0 style
★ 5 colored themes (ICS-Blue, Red, Orange, Green, Purple) - More coming soon!
★ Read all incoming SMS messages instantly
★ Slide to unlock animation
★ Instantly reply to messages without leaving a task
★ Auto-receive enabled
★ Inbox quick-launch
★ Custom notifications
★ Task-killer safe
★ Low RAM footprint
★ 0% battery drain
*Tips and help*
★ Why do we need a permission to read your messages? That's simple - so you can view them in the popup. Without it you could not view your messages.
★ Do we collect IQ and read messages? NO. We do not collect data or any other IQ like many other keyboard or popup apps who will steal your information for profit.
★ Avast reporting as malware!?! No, its not malware. It is the AdNetwork SDK which has been certified by Verisign and fully approved by Google. Avast and a few other outdated scanners will mark this as a potential risk because of the required permissions. Don't be fooled, use a legitimate antivirus app like Lookout Security or AVG. See below for more info.
★ Why such extreme permissions? Well, they are required in order for you to read, view, and reply to your messages in the app. We can not view or see any messages you send or receive. We do not support IQ like many other apps, so you are completely safe!
**Other Info**
ICS SMS Popup is the original SMS popup dialog themed to Android 4.0. We have many other flavors available to satisfy all tastes. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at [email protected] and we will get back to you as soon as possible with a solution.
This app provides a few useful shortcuts on your device in the form of a search bookmark link and home screen icon. This gives us a few cents each time the app is downloaded and will help us out a lot in developing more apps. If you do not want to use these new tools, you can simply ignore or delete them by dragging the icon to the trashcan and no harm is done (our app remains the same, no need to uninstall it). There is an ad-free pro version on the Play Store if you would like to support development! Thank you!

Glad you like it! Customization is our main focus, we have an iphone style coming out soon too but the current versions are just to give ppl options while we add features and work out any bugs. Once the beta is complete it will be converted to one main app with downloadable themes and a template for 3rd party devs. Then it will be added to the widget chooser in Omega Launcher

Trying this now. SMS popup was disabling my lock screen on CM Apocalypse. This seems to be working better!

This looks good, but could you make an option to keep the incoming message visible while doing a quick reply? I like to be able to refer to longer or more complicated messages while typing my response.

Glad you like it! This was an early build so it is geared more towards speed and stability than features at the moment but there will be a new customizable version out soon with basically every option you can think of so stay tuned We are just putting the finishing touches on our new themeable status bar app so the SMS popup is next in line.

That is a great idea and will definitely be looked into for the new version. Our team communicates primarily through 5+ message long texts so this feature would be useful for us too lol. Thanks for the suggestion, let us know if you think of anything else and they will be added to the wish list
One of the reviews for your app states it adds shortcuts to the desktop, Google don't allow this.

We are well aware of the new developer policy and our ad networks are fully compliant with the changes. Rather than being opt-out like it was before there will now be a popup after installing that will allow users to either opt-in and receive the shortcuts or continue using the app without them. We literally spend hundreds of hours developing each app so we would really appreciate it if you wouldn't mind spending the 2 seconds it takes to remove the icon if you don't want to use them, but if you don't find them to be useful I understand. They are currently our main source of revenue though so if users don't like these kinds of ads then hopefully they will speak with their wallets and purchase the ad-free pro version to help support our full-time development efforts. The new opt-in setting will be integrated in our apps over the next month before the new policy goes into effect and should eliminate any concerns over this issue. Thanks

[APP][2.1+][Optimized 4.0+] WordLookup - Not your average dictionary tool!

The ability to select text and sharing it seems to be rare in apps for pre-Honeycomb Android versions, so this may be a problem. This app will have limited functionality in those Android versions.
Hey xda developpers,
Here's my shot at my second ad-free app, WordLookup !

What is it?
Many of you have probably heard of the popular Google Dictionary extension for Google Chrome, which allows you to double click any word on a web page to view its definition. I have found this feature indispensable to my web browsing.
Of course, it's not possible to implement something like this in Android just yet, but this app tries to imitate its functionality. There's no need to open another dictionary app to find definitions anymore!
WordLookup allows you to view word definitions easily as you browse the web, and when using apps. It does require an Internet connection to work, however.
Simply hold&select the word you wish to look up, share it with WordLookup and a small notification popup will show a few definitions for the word! It's that simple!
Here's how to use it:
1- Hold and select the word you'd like to get the definitions.
2- Select the Share button in the menu/Action Bar.
3- Share text to WordLookup.
4- The definitions should show up in a bit as a popup(Toast) notification.
Supported Apps:
-ICS Android Browser
-Google Chrome
-ICS Gmail and Email app
-Pulse
-Many,many others. More will be added in this list.
Right now, this app is only tested on Android 4.0 - Ice Cream Sandwich, as many apps on earlier versions of Android do not support sharing text, your mileage may vary, though. Some parts of the program are still very rough, as this is still a beta.
Upcoming features includes offline dictionaries, and more!
Technical stuff in a nutshell:
This app gets the shared text via an intent and uses the Knicker library to fetch definitions from Wordnik (thanks to their nifty API). It then sends the definitions to a custom Toast pop-up, which is displayed on the bottom of the screen.

Cool! Where do I get it?

Question, is it better to use a Toast notification, like now, or switch to a dialog box, which offers more optimization at the expense of more obtrusiveness?

This is a cool idea, but it doesn't really function on my GB TB because the option to share text is limited (as you stated). Still, I'll be following this to see where it goes and I'll definitely give it a spin once I upgrade!
Keep up the work c:
-And a suggestion-
Do you think it would be possible to create an offline version as well and have the word lookups routed through a database in your app instead of online?
I know I'm connected to the internet via wifi and it won't connect... HTC thunderbolt on sfk almost sense 4.0/gingerbread. I could share it and everything though

Hey Meso,
Unfortunately, the limitations on GB seems to be a hard one and cannot be fixed unless the app developer(in the case of the browser, Google) updates it to add sharing, or possibly added into a ROM or something.
And an offline version are upcoming as well, once some flaws with the app gets nailed out. I'm also thinking of using Bing's traslation service to deliver translations in a future version, as well.

At the end, our 2 apps are totally different, which is fun:

[APP][2.0+]Phonechievements

Phonechievements is back
Phonechievements (latest version 1.35)
About
Phonechievements brings achievements to the mobile phone. For those who are gamers the concept isn't new, for those who are not, achievements are just rewards you get for accomplishing a goal. You don't get an actual prize, it's just a form of reward that you get in writing. Moreover, this app allows you to brag on Facebook with them (for now).
Open the app and navigate through the list. Each achievement has a description on how you can unlock it. Want to let everyone know how you master the phone? Share on Facebook the unlocked achievements. Just open the app and go to the achievement and a Facebook logo button will allow you to do that.
With each update new features and of course new phonechievements will be added.
If you like the idea and want to help me improve or have any suggestions for new achievements, please check it out.
The app is available for Android 2.0+. If you find any issues please let me know so I can fix them.
Thank you.

Please let me know if there's any crash or any problem with the app. I see there's a general request for a JellyBean / ICS theme therefore I will be working on this alongside with the new features and achievements. The theme should be out soon so stay tuned. In the meantime enjoy the achievements and if you think of some new ones, please let me know and you could see them in the app.
Also I would appreciate some feedback regarding battery usage, memory usage and stuff like that. I got to test it on some friend's phones while on BETA and it was reported as ok, but the more data the better.
Thank you.

Yes. That would definitely make it better. I added this to the TODO list... quite on top. This will be available on a unique username base and you would be able to add friends using their username. Also a profile webpage would display all your unlocked achievements and as you said allow you to compare with other users you know or share your profile link anywhere you want.
Can we change the "Oops, I did it again"? Lol

New version published on Google Play
Just published a new update on GPlay. Give it some time to actually get it.
What's New:
* Added three new Phonechievements: Well Informed (Apps), I Always Take The Bus (Power Wizard), The Alternative Approach (Power Wizard)
* Minor bug fixes
* Battery usage reduced
Work in progress:
* Just started implementing the Twitter integration (a share button will be available next to the Facebook one).
* Another thing I started working on is a profile webpage. You will be able to choose a username and get a unique profile URL to share with your friends... and brag . Also a compare tool will be available so you can show your frinds that you have more phonechievements
* This is just the beginning as this webpage could easily be developed and improved. The way you will be able to update your profile is either automatically (setting) or manually.
* I also got a lot of complains about battery draining when GPS is on. I know what the problem is and it will be fixed in tomorrow's update
* AND THE BIG ONE COMING IN TOMORROW'S UPDATE: RandomChievements : The are phonechievements, yes they are ... but a little special. They are inactive most of the time, meaning you can't unlock them even if you accomplish the goal (by accident ). They become active randomly, at any time. You will get a notification that the randomchievement has become active. From that moment on you have a random amount of time to complete it. Sometimes it might be almost impossible to do it. But if you miss it , there's no worry, it will get active some other time. Randomly, of course. The only known fact is that it can not tell you to unlock it in less than 15 minutes. This is the lower limit. The upper limit is 6 hours. There will be a new category called Randomchievements where this new type of phonechievement will take its rest.
Last but not least... if you experience any issues , crashes , please report them so I can try and fix the issues.
Thank you.
P.S.

Do you have a suggestion ? Anyway.. I am considering this change for next version
You should add some sort of badge system - like with foursquare! But great idea - installed it now : )

Oh - and maybe some sort of friendsystem or social integration?
Edit: Nevermind... Saw your post now
New thing though - You should hide what makes the achievement unlock - and only show descriptions, so that the exploring is more fun!
The update keeps crashing for me. Going to bed, I'll get more info out tomorrow if I can.

I turned on the app at my house and almost got the first altitude achievement! Haha, love this app, such a simple idea that I am sure was a pain to program! I love all the devs that put everything into their apps for me to enjoy!

Google+ was a little slow accepting my registration. It worked an hour later.
Stinks that mms only works for Verizon and not Sprint.

Use the app since the First Release, love it.

Great App
Great app! Any rough ETA on any other services? ( I know its annoying but someone is going to ask anyway...so.. )
Now i am using 2 whatsapp numbers with my phone and everything seems to work.
Disas registration phase was far better than original whatsapp apps.
will look for translating the app if there is a way.
anyone willing to share the beta please? i dont have/like google+

that's the only thing I know
Current priority order (with bug fixes and maintenence in between):
1) Notification system overhaul (notifiy the user of failed messages, support turning notifications off for a specific service, etc.)
2) Import tooling for SMS/MMS and Disa DB backup/import support
3) Emoji support
4) Message drafts support (there's a placeholder already by holding down the attachments button!)
4) broastcasts
5) Push-to-Talk
4) Quick reply
5) Conversation specific settings
6) Dark theme
Once everyone is happy with the App, bugs are solved, and the feature-set is rich, THEN work will be under way of another service. I've changed my mind by the way (after a convincing post), the next service will be Facebook integration.

I don`t know if that is allowed, because the developer wants you to join the g+ group...
One reason devs want to use google+ and gpl to publish betas is that you can update the app very easily. That means that everybody has the newest version so they won't receive notes about bugs that are resolved in the newest apk. Hope that made sence

no problem mate
I don't know if you wanna get this information here or just look for it yourself but this morning the dev postet some nice information on g+
I've signed off 0.3.1. I will do a day of testing, and then release it.
0.3.2 will be the notification overhaul.
Features:
=>Bitmap thumbnails from phone book are now loaded on an as-use-basis. This will both conserve memory and make loading contact thumbnails faster.
=> Sprint MMS should hopefully be fixed.
=> There are now Overflow buttons (instead of those hidden longclick popup menus).
=> Party information support improved.
=> Clicking on a contact picture or a participant in a party now brings up an info dialog (displays status, last seen, and big/small photo). Keeping up to date with friends you don't talk to on a regular basis is now easy.
=> Text stuck on "needs settings" fixed.
=> Search improved (now supports diacritics, redundant spaces, etc.)
=> SMS delivery reports (second tick), SMS sending system rewritten, and unicode SMS bugfix (sending 40-80 character texts in with non ASCII characters would fail).
=> some UI overhaul, yet again.
=> misc. bug fixes
=> Hybrid Fall Through / Sync mode. Tasker will work now with SMS.
Disa is really getting more stable. Thank you to all who accidentally crashed the app - crash reports are fantastic.
+Max Kovaljov has started working on reverse engineering Facebook Messenger for Android's protocol. It's very similar to the web-based Windows desktop messenger.
Cheers!
Oh no you di-dn't!!
can someone post the apk?

Probably too cool for a Google+ account..
This is a semi-closed beta so you need to join our community before you can become a tester.
Was 0.3.2 ever released? And if so, does anyone have the APK?

no it has not been released! Disa is removed from Playstore because of WhatsappDevs
0.3.2 will come in the next few days but the services will be implemented with plugins!
which plugins do you plan?

Hey everyone! I just created a new App, for now am limiting the App's release (Alpha 1) to the good old XDA folks.
It's a Chat Helper for WhatsApp.
The App embeds and shows a WhatsApp widget and displays it whenever you are on a chat with someone, the widget shows the count of unread messages you have and of course it keeps updating live. Clicking the widget will quickly display a screen full of unread messages for you peak through, from this screen you could quickly jump to any of your chat contacts/groups or hit the X to go back to your chat. If you switch to a new chat, you could go back to your previous chat by just hitting the back button. And all this will hopefully make you a better multitasker when it comes to chatting.

The App is tagged with an Alpha 1 version badge, I hope to upgrade that with your feedback coming through various devices. Also, I would like to emphasize that the App does NOT modify WhatsApp in anyway, just enjoy the enhanced experience with no worries of being banned.
Few Tips/Instructions for the App:
The App needs a 2 step setup (3 if you are on Android Marshmallow), which you need to do only once and never have to visit the Settings again.
When the App prompts to provide permission to create widgets, please go for "Alway allow...", this will let the App automatically get the widgets ready and display at right time, right place.
If the unread count badge obstructs any of your view elements (may be when keyboard is on,) you can drag the badge vertically to a new place (but restricted to right side of the screen for now.)
If you open the unread messages window, always try to use the X at the top right corner for faster re-access.
If you click any chat in the unread messages window, it will take you to the respective chat. Once you're done interacting, press the back button to quickly go back to the previous chat.

★Please leave your invaluable feedback in this thread if you try the App and don't forget to rate it on Google Play Store!★

nice idea and thanks for making our lives easier!
but i would like to know the difference between this and the official whatsapp widget which also shows the amount of unread messages + preview of the text? .
is it due to the minimal design and it appears everywhere as a floating widget?

And yes, you're right. As described, it's about embedding and displaying the official widgets at the right time, right place and thus making 'our lives easier'.
Guys so far things look good for an alpha version, I plan to release a more concrete version soon, let me know if you have any minor feature requests that I could add at the last minute.

Hey there, Can you please tell me what is it all about? I have no idea what you are going to launch. Is it something which helps the whatsapp users?
I wanna to see some private settings to whatsapp... Like to hide online status (yep, my gf irritates me when I open whatsapp to see something and she assume I have to reply her lol). There is a possibility to do it?

Hi
Nice app !!! Really makes texting quicker...
Few suggestions I thought of :
1. Add an option to contact you via the app
2. Add an option to hide the window when there are no messages
3. Add an option to hide the window for a timed interval
4. Add an option to use a smaller window ?
Cheers!
