I have some question for my Miro new phone.
I searched the threads and I cannot find answers for some of my issues.
First of all is there any way to overclock, I know the only kernel is Vengeance but its not supporting overcloking now!
Second i have really laggy zooming, scrolling phone within browsers. I tried all browsers and still laggy zooming and scrolling. Maybe some app may fix it?
Also is there any app which can help to stop some process during game play and then restore them ?
I used some task killers but the system apps keep starting and I dont think I am gaining smth from them.
For instance I play Beach Buggy and no matter the graphic options I have lag.
So is there anything I could do except a new phone?
Thanks
I am using FXP221.
Fxp? What about stock? Is this fxp slower than stock? Have you tried freezing some apps (most google stuff, facebook, whatever)?

FXP is much faster then stock. it benchmarks 400 points more.
Freezing... well, I tryed using Titanium Backup but I think I need other app for this.
Maybe one that can freeze the app maybe when playing some though games and after that to unfreeze them..
Yep, benchmark does show fxp is higher, but have you test the same game in stock? Im just using link2sd to freeze those apps. I dont mind manually un-freezing them. The only time I un-freeze is when I want to do updates. Facebook? Using opera mini for facebook is more than enough for me. You did say even your browser lagged. Im not saying stock is better than fxp, I mean is it really laggy that you needed fxp just to get rid of it?

Yes, very laggy again. This is due tolow end CPU on mi MIro but I am trying everything to boost it a little.
Can find kernel/ROM with overcooking dough ...
Low end? Isnt it the same as tipo? Its running at 800mhz max right?

Yup, I mean its not very fast overall.
I havent had any problem since im using paradox on locked bootloader. Yeah its slow, but definitely faster than stock. But freezing those apps, its even faster now.

I had that screen dying this rom also... on build 3 as many more i´ve noticed.
I flashed that earlier kernel after not succesful try on that build 3 kernel.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12943198/ics22.zip by arakmar.
Normally build3 trough odin and flashed this ics22.zip trough cwm
Big thanks goes to MrComputerRevo for posting this:
"So I had no waking up issue so I falshed another kernel, but that decreased perfomance and sound was laggy... So I thought what if I flash the kernel that arakmar posted a couple pages ago... Guess what: I don't have lockscreen or waking up issues, sound is perfect and headset works! Try it!"
I followed these instructions and it really helped!
hopefully this helps someone too
nice news i needed to hear that to change to cm9

Nice to hear
Well my whole g3 is only 6months old so no battery issues on that case. But i noticed on cm7 that 1.3 hv kernell was the best, didn' t drain battery so fast. If u want more power/speed ( over 1ghz) with different kernell prepare to lose your battery faster.
On cm9 i'm using the same as 1.3hv stats, max 1ghz on processor speed. My battery has lasted on this for last 4 days, since i flashed this rom.

thanks for th info mate
i flashed cm9 with arakmar's kernel and everything is ok..but i want to get rid off the gapps that i dont need , i only use market and gmail..but i dont want to delete anything vital for the phone or these two apps :/ any idea what should i keep and what not?
none of the google apps is vital for the phone
Imo u can delete what u dont need, gapps are not vital for the phone, many roms doesn't have any of google apps but many devs put up a link for every one who wants gapps on their phone

Is CM 10 for xperia J have lag issues?
I have lag issues in official rom firmware .28. If it isn't I will try to flash my xJ with CM 10
referred to this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2034639
Sorry for my suck english
Me to have lag issue on offical rom but dont know about cm 10 i will try after ma exams !! and also it has bugs
Sent from my ST26i using xda app-developers app
switching to cm10 definitely helped with the lag,i can play games like gta 3 and modern combat 4 now which were a slide show before.just make sure you have cm10 on your sd card before you flash the recovery because i could not get the recovery to mount my sd card to usb.
make sure you know what you are doing with adb/fastboot or you will just brick your device.
now all we need is an over clocking enabled kernel to squeeze a couple hundred more mhz out the chip lol
cm10 also has the option to let you limit how many background apps can run which can help this phone a whole lot.
CM 10 helped me with lag issue, but sometimes the system seems slow and it drain much battery!
I think it's the best way to stay on stock rom! It's so cool and battery is awesome. At end of march we get official jb I don't like CM10 because I like xperia style!
Guys.... i found that the fone felt faster without root.....ONCE wen i applied root on stock clean jb rom(currently using stock DDULP8) i experienced fewer lags on the first boot itself ..... nd on overtime usage i experienced a sudden slowdown(eg. the capacitive buttons becomes unresponsive for fewer mins, vibrates after few years ),dono wats the reason for this though...........i noticed this on almost all stock roms....correct me if this was discussed already........nd also is there any other method for rooting,if so please share it guys.......
AGAIN, THE MAIN PROBLEM HERE FOR ME IS THE BUTTONS GO UNRESPONSIVE FOR FEW MINS & CAMERA APP stucks like hell ;(,if this is gone i have no problem for my s advance........pls guys reply how to fix this........my previous device was lg-p500 which was awesome without any problems,i ran subway surfers smoothly than on this phone, though it was armv6 nd they goy even almost stable jb 4.2.2..........problem is only after root.....& a script for nano shell binary 4cyl mod gives root problems oly fa our device since no other devices have such problems,i assume this problem is mainly coz of our root method....

Uninstall bloatware with titanium backup.
You can try install kernel and custom roms. Since you've rooted might as well use the privilege of rooting.

None taken. You said you noticed it on stock roms. So I assumed you don't try any custom roms. But it surely is not because of root method cause I don't have any slowdown/lag issue at all after using custom rom. On stock yes..after a while it will slow down but on custom none at all.
try don't install 4Cyl ...
Try this combo:
lightjb 1.2 Rom+Cocore 6.2+on demand/sio, if this doesn't work, then you might have hardware issues :what:

@Rawwr :- I have used CM9, 10 & 10.1 and I can say as on Today Only CM7 is the most stable and complete rom for Defy/+. CM7 beats CM9, CM10 & CM10.1 on the ground of performance / stability.
@v2dare / Maniac :- Its nice to see that Maniac is still working on CM7, Can Maniac port Walters Custom Kernel (GB) in upcoming builds?
Thanks

I understand, I get caught up because I faced many frustrations on CM10 based roms, it abandoned me several times on which I needed it a lot. While I absolutely glorify our developers, our devices just can't seem to handle it.
So I was just expressing my opinion as well
Xperia D sounds like a great rom, I used it some versions ago but experienced some menu lag.
Does it support proxy settings globally?

What do I need to do in order to downgrade to this version from quarx cm10.2 (android 4.3)?

first download aroma wiper (search the forum for that)
then format everything that is /data /system /cache using aroma wiper to ext 3 format
then install the zip of this rom
also
u can format /data /cache to ext3 usin bootmenu but I personally recommend aroma wiper as it wipes /system as well so u can get clean rom
p.s. - u can use clockwork mod recovery by downloadin dual recovery zip from development sec or if u r using twrp then after opening recovery dont run anything for at least 20--30 sec cause sometimes twrp crashes in the beginning but if doesn't crash then u can run aroma wiper
Mmm, still have the same problem as the last maniac rom, only worse now. When I make a call the screen goes black like normal, then at the end of the call it stays black and the only way to get my display back is to pull the battery and reboot.

Hey,
One of my friends owns a Sony Xperia Miro, while I own a Sony Xperia Tipo. If you swipe slowly in the app drawer, you can see that his Miro has much smoother scrolling, than my Tipo's "spiky" scroll. However if you swipe faster, they both look the same. Mine doesn't lag at all cause of the modifications I did. While he doesn't know as much about android devices as I do, I have done everything to make my Tipo faster. I've tried all the available ROMS and noticed that the stock firmware (ftf file) 11.0.a.4.27 was faster, smoother and more stable than them.
I am rooted and I have been using Greenify to kill background processes. At start I have been using Vengeance 1.46 kernel @ 800mhz (set both min and max with SetCPU), but then I overclocked the device using Vengeance Reloaded kernel @ 1305mhz, and it was stable. I tried many other stuff to increase smoothnes and performance aswell, but I won't start mentioning them... The amount of free available ram is averagely 200-230mb, while my friend's Miro only has 150-200mb average, often under 100 aswell, due to the many apps running in the background. I also factory reseted about 10 times too, and tried other performance combinations, including using a task killer, like my friend does, instead of Greenify. I even considered using nothing, kept the phone as stock, with no apps installed. Still, not as smooth as the Miro.
Please help, what am I missing?
Thanks in advance

Yeah installing stock ics ftf firmware might be the soloution. I personally don't have lag issues anymore since I tried all these mods. What I meant though, was why is the Tipo not as smooth as the Miro when scrolling, not which is faster
