I was on Evita Sense 5 Port ROM and flashed ElementalX 6
I went with the default options in aroma, but at 1.7ghz and selected a lower voltage (one above) the default option.
And now my phone wont turn on.
WHen I charge it ,theres no red light that comes on.
I've tried holding down the buttons
I've already posted in the ROm thread..
But I dont want to fill it all up about my issues you know..and I feel like I'd get much better help here if it has its own thread.
I got an advice about letting it sit plugged in for a while until the light comes on, which is what Im doing now...
But for the time being, if anyone there has any other tip/solutions?
Oh and yes ,Ive searched :X

I bricked mine mucking about with partitions. Got a new one from Telstra.
If you can't get it to start neither can AT&T, so no-one will be able to see if it's unlocked/rooted.
Some will say it's dishonest, but you could just go and take it to them and say 'it won't turn on'. Not really a lie is it?

Hi, everyone, I've recently HARD BRICKED my Samsung Galaxy MODEL: T959V with T-mobile.
First off, I got pattern locked on my phone, yea I know I'm an idiot, LOL. Next I totally forgot my gmail password so I could not log back into my phone.
So then I next decided to flash back to stock with odin 1.7 and T959UVJFD. tar file from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1047087.
As a result, my phone would boot to the loading screen with the dashed circle and a battery display in the background and thus would not finish booting all the way.
So I figured I would do more research and found that people would try flashing with the Eugene_2E_JK2_Froyo from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...833024&page=49 and after flash back to stock.
After I flashed with the Eugene rom this was when the phone completely died and would not turn on. I tried the take out the battery, holding down and up volume button and plugging into computer method but the computer would not detect it anymore.
Now I don't know what to do. I realized I was flashing with the Galaxy Vibrant kernels with Odin and now, it won't turn on anymore and can't boot into download mode. It is also not being detected my computer when I plug it in. I'ts a blank screen.
Please help.. Thanks, and appreciate it.

At least a hundred times, there's a hundred threads as proof.
Just going to go on a limb and ask, are you familiar with fastboot? If not, then rooting is not for you. I see it in your title, but you must be doing it wrong. That is all.
I so want to say "Have you tried taking out the battery?" But that would be just wrong...

Ok, I do not mind helping. But I need to know if you know what fast boot means, and if you know how to actually get into the boot loader. If not, look in my sig, and click "Rooted" it will take you to another site, and show you a DETAILED video on what to do. It is important that you have the correct adb/fastboot files set up. A download link is also on that site as well.
Press and hold power until the bottom buttons blink a few times and the screen goes black.
When the screen goes black let go of power and press and hold volume down until the bootloader comes up.

On all of the videos, I need to have fastboot load, but it won't. I hold down volume down+power and nothing will happen except I keep getting the device connected and then device disconnected sounds on my PC over and over. When I try to send commands through cmd, it just says <waiting for device> and doesn't connect.

I've read up on the topic a little more and I think I'm pretty much screwed, but I'll try to explain it better.
The device won't go into fastboot mode or I would have had it fixed a long time ago. Holding the power+down volume does nothing but make the 'device connected' and 'device disconnected' sounds go off over and over very quickly on my PC. It isn't responding to commands both when it's turned off and when it's in the boot loop.
So no. No bootloader.
Ok and the screen and buttons are black?

Generally this error means you have a brick. Some people have had success with the tool I posted, but not a lot. If you don't have a warranty you can send it into mobiletechvideos.com and get them to JTAG it for a reasonable price (I think it's $50)

I used to work in a place that built pcb's for a manufacturer and the chips were programmed in house then sent out for final software. So that mode may only be supported on the manufacturer end. I'm only guessing but seems feasible.

From what I've seen reported on here, its my understanding as well.
Ok, so I tried flashing cyanogenmod on my phone and ended up with what i believe to be a hard brick... I'll go through what I did, and I guess if there is any way to reverse this and return it to working condition, I would greatly appreciate this information. First, I used the exploit found in the all-in-one kit so that the bootloader could be unlocked officially by HTC. After getting my bootloader unlocked via the file sent to me by HTC, I flashed my cwm via fastboot. Everything seemed to be working fine at this point; the phone would boot into both the rom and the cwm. I rebooted the phone and flashed the boot image found in the cm rom I was flashing on my phone. I rebooted once again, erased the cache and dalvik, and then attempted to flash the rom. It was unsuccessful the first time due to failed asserts. I had previously been able to simply edit the build.prop file and remove the asserts on other android devices to correct this problem, so I attempted to do this. I tried again to flash the rom, which began installing, and then resulted in the phone turning off. I am sure that this has everything to do with my editing of the file, but I am just wondering why it did not work this time, and if there is a way to correct this without expensive hardware. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

It's not responsive to anything now... I realize the device probably won't make a recovery at this point due to my lack of knowledge and resources, but I guess I'm more wondering why exactly this happened, for future reference. I mean, if there is a way to fix it that would be awesome, but yeah, the screen and buttons wont turn on, and when its plugged in the charge LED does not come on either. My computer can still recognize the phone though in the device manager, but it is called Qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008, and there is not an obvious way (to me) to access the files on the internal SD.

It was probably a corrupted download and editing files on a Rom built by someone else wasn't the best of ideas can you access fastboot or recovery?

I downloaded the latest, most stable rom directly from the cyanogenmod website, and no, I can't access fastboot or recovery.

When you plug it in does it show charge light? And what is the file name you flashed? You should only download roms from here if it was a quad core Rom it overwrote the partitions and totally bricked it. Also plug it into a Windows pc and tell me what it's trying to install drivers for if it tries to install qhsusb drivers your dead in the water and need jtag or send it to HTC for about 200$ to have mainboard replaced.

As I said, the charge light does not show up, the file name was cm-10.1.2-endeavoru, and I don't remember seeing any drivers installed after that, but on my windows 8 pc (dont judge, its brand new), it shows up in device manager as qualcomm hs-usb qloader... Sounds pretty dismal, but thanks a lot for the input. Still wondering why this happened though.

This forum is for the evita. If you have the quad core and flash an evita Rom it bricks and vice versa. They are not cross compatable. Flash evita on international version u brick it. If you have the quad core you may be better off asking in the correct forum. I'll find you a link in a minute and update this post

Before I downloaded the rom, I checked and make sure I had a dual-core processor in the about section of the settings in the phone.

Not a idiot. Just keep in mind the two devices are not well separated on the websites. All available roms for our phone are here on xda. Dont even assume cm website will be that specific. I'd pm zarboz and see if he is willing to jtag for you. And it wouldnt hurt if you threw him a few bucks for beer or something lol

There were asserts in the ROM to prevent this kind of thing.

Yup, I did. I had done that in the past and it worked for my other android device, but I guess it wouldn't make sense for them to exist if there wasn't a reason. Thanks alot guys, I'm just starting out with this stuff and it's really good to see the amount of people who are willing to help newbies like me.

My phone got bricked after I flashed the PurePerformanceX Golden Edition. It shows up as Qualcomm, Inc. Gobi Wireless Modem (QDL mode). I have tried this but I have some problems with it. Would anyone mind lending in a hand? I haven't tried TeamViewer but I can setup an account if it would help more.
Yeah, you can try plugging it in or holding down the power button but likely you'll have to jtag. And you flashed something not meant for this phone.

Yeah, that was the first thing I did. Surprisingly, it's been a week and I don't seem to miss it that much also I would send it to get it jtag or at least buy my own riff box but I'm not able to buy stuff online (no credit card/job).
i would suggest the unbricking method mentioned in the forums or JET tool(sorry if this is what you are discussing). However if you fail to find the partitions on linux then you have no option but jtag(i would not suggest buying riff box, its difficult to connect, expensive, and jtag-ing is only $20-$50)
