Hi I would like some help on altering the code in the framework-res, and settings.apk to make the built in USB+WiFi tethering say yes and work. I've tried and I can't find the lines.
Didn't you already post a thread with basically the same question here?
Please don't create another thread, when you already have a thread which you're asking basically this same question.
This is technically a new question, in that one I was asking what to do, and I found out but I was wondering if someone experienced could help me find the lines of code for tethering.
Do you know if I'm supposed to edit the apk files with notepad++, or do I edit something inside those?

Hi, i'm sort of starting in Android Developement and I found a proof of concept that looked interesting because it might exploit a vulnerability that's present on my future application. I'd like to build it but I can't manage to... I have joined the source code that you can get from github as an attached file (and zipped it)
I hope somebody will be able to help me and explain how to do it,
Thanks,
I've been at this for a little while and I have not made any headway. I know this should be in the developer thread but I'm unable to post there due to lack of post.
My goal is to get App ops back onto a stock+rooted rom by this method.

I am able to decompile settings, framework and com.htc.resources but once decompiled i cannot find Settings.smali to make the changes.
When decompiled in the settings folder I have the android manifest and a res folder.
This is the first htc phone I've had so maybe I'm over looking something. I know the original post is using a Nexus but I think I should be able to at leaf get to the editing point.
I'm running ART which rules out Xprivacy since it runs off of xposed and I prefer to edit this in rather than running a closed source alternative.
-Any direction would be greatly appreciated.
As an update I was able to get into the settings.smali however the code for Sense is not the as what was linked in the above article.
Does anyone know the edits needed to achieve this in Sense 4.4.2?
I can supply the settings.smali if needed.
Are you trying to do it this way because you don't want to run the Xposed Framework? There is a module which will do this for you here.
Correct, I'm running ART which Xposed Framework is not compatible with.
Hello, I have asked a question about this before. Someone told me to sign up and post the question. So this question.>
I want to run google exoplayer (I cannot post the link because of limitations in XDA Forum) in my android phone.
I have downloaded the whole project file and understood that I have to compile it into an apk somehow (because it has folders like 'res', 'assets' and files like 'AndroidManifest.xml') but I cannot do it because I know little about compiling apk.
I have also downloaded some files like .pom, .aar, .jar from bintray (jCenter). I don't know how I can put them to use.
SO, IF SOMEONE CAN COMPILE THE FILES into an APK FILE, I WILL REMAIN GRATEFUL. I am 99% sure that those files and folders can be compiled (or zipped) into an apk file. PLEASE SHARE THE COMPILED OR ZIPPED APK FILES, OR AT LEAST TELL ME WHICH FILES ARE TO BE ZIPPED (I have no SDK so I cannot compile and please compile it if needed). Please don't dissapoint me. Thank you very much in advance.
Hi!
I believe this was your previous thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/xda-assist/question-google-exoplayer-t3196463
You need to ask for further help in the Section that was linked for you in that previous thread. XDA Assist is here to help navigate the site, not for support.
Good luck!
Hello there!
Today I'm asking this question because I didn't found a question like this on XDA, and I was wondering why.
However, this is not so obvious in my opinion!
I know that you can find the Java code (in some sort) in the apk file.
But I checked some system apps (i.e. TouchWiz Mass Launcher, SystemUI) and I didn't find any code into these apk, only XML, resources, drawables and stuff.
So where can I find it? I'd like to modify system apps to add new features, not only for theming
Thank you in advance.
(P.s: Please avoid "U should install xposed its mor easy" thing because I do know that and I got it already. Just answer - or don't-, thanks)
