frustrate me and I realized my mistake, I thanks the help already in my phone gingerbread
You're getting that because you didn't clear data and the permissions are wrong. Get into recovery, wipe data, flash again with odin.
To get into recovery:
Press volume up + power together until phone vibrates. Release the power button while continuing to hold the volume up until recovery comes up.
Edit-----
I had that happen with the Kies update. I fixed it by reflashing. I also suggest you get a USB jig for easy download mode.

You act suprised about the recovery/cyanogenmod splash screen...did you not flash cm9?
And I'm 99.99% sure your not doing it right...I've never heard of a phone going to recovery when trying download mode...I've heard of them just not going and/or bootlooping-but I've never heard of it going in to recovery...can you please list the exact steps you took to enter download mode?
They should be this:
Remove battery
Put battery back in
Hold volume up+down
Plug USB in while holding volume keys
-please note, I wasn't trying to be rude above...just stating I've never heard of what's happening to you happen before...and anything is possible to some extent...so it is possible that your just having some freak problems...

My ICS favorites are RemICS-UX & AOKPCB. both run perfectly smooth, just choose the one you prefer
However, if you're up to it, you may want to try the unofficial CM10 (Jellybean 4.1.1 goodness!).
Im from Puerto Rico, so if you if you have any doubts send me a PM in spanish
Earlier, my Gio told me about rebooting for something about wiping data or something like that.
There was no other option so I pressed the button and it restarted now its stuck on a screen, not sure if it's download mode :/
It has the Android mascot and a box with an orange arrow coming out of it, with a progress bar on the bottom that does not move. The screen also flickers. I have tried plugging my phone on the PC but it does not work. Have any idea how to fix this?

mate just stop blaming him for using the wrong key combination
question to op:
can you boot into download mode?? (volume down+power+home)
if you can:
download your country's firmware from sammobile.com
extract that zip
connect your phone to your computer with your usb cable (make sure your cable is working fine)
click on "pda" in odin, choose the file you extracted from your zip.
the odin should say comort (or a number)
and also shows that you are connected: "added!"
click start
wait until it finishes, your phone should boot up with no problem now
don't unplug when it's still flashing
I can get into download mode. Going to try that now. Also when I said volume up + home + quit I meant quit as the power button.
Edit: Installed stock and rooted now. Thanks.
Okay, I've got this Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 that's been updated with the OTA 4.2.2 update that will not turn off. I want to sell it but I don't want the new owner bugging me about it not being able to turn off. So I decided to root it and put Cyanogen Mod on it but I can't get it into download mode to flash it. I can only get it into ADB sideload from the stock recovery. Also, I can't even find the option to put it in USB debugging mode.
So my question is what's the best way to root and add CWM to this device while it's like this? I would download ROM Manager from the Playstore to start the process but I'm afraid it will brick the device. When I tried to flash the CWM zip to root it from the stock recovery I get an error saying it was unsigned or something to that affect. I've rooted many devices but this one is driving me nuts! What a screwed up update.

Are you able to reboot your tab when pressing power for some time?
Are you holding the right buttons to enter into download mode? (Holding Power + Volume-UP)
In order to enable debugging on the Tab 2, you must go to Settings>>About Tablet. Keep tapping on "Build number" then eventually the Developer Options tab will display on the left. Tap on Developer Options and you will see on the right where you can enable USB debugging mode.

I have a p5113 and to get into recovery is Power + Vol down. Download mode is Power + Vol up. If you are able to get into recovery I know something that may work for you. This will install Philz Touch Recovery. I use it and it works well. Download the .zip file pertaining to your device (p5113).
- Download Philz Touch Recovery (.zip): http://d-h.st/users/philz_touch/?fld_id=16057#files
- Download SuperSU (.zip): http://download.chainfire.eu/372/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.86.zip
Copy the .zip files to your device's microSD card and flash philz touch from Recovery Mode. Reboot back into Recovery Mode and flash the SuperSU .zip file. This should root your device.

I was finally able to fix the problem with not being able to shut down. I finally got the device into download mode after several tries. Once I saw that I quickly opened up ODIN and flashed clockwork mod recovery. After flashing that it shut down properly afterwards. I have shut it down 5 times in a row now and it shuts down and stay shut down every time. Im totally satisfied with that! Thanx for all you guys help.
I got it into download mode by plugging in, and shutting it down until I got to the battery charging icon (will only shut down plugged in after 2 or 3 attempts). After about 30 seconds hold down the power button and the volume down button simultaneously until the warning screen comes up. The tap volume up (button closest to the power button).
Victory
