Warning! Do not turn off!" but nothing happens i had wait 10 hour since yesterday and nothing, and i would like to activate those keys again, but i dont know how i restore my phone to stock, i did a hard reset and nothing, i hope someone could help me, im 100% sure that its not hardware, because everything was working just fine I have not thrown or damage my phone i take care of it and im very very carefully with it, so i hope you guys can help me im so sad and desperate and frustrated
Thank you very much in advanced.
:crying:
If you can get into download mode, grab a stock file and flash through odin.
Well i find out, how, i just Flash the original stock rom that comes with the phone out of the box ICS 4.0.4 and i did a Factory Reset and that was it !! everything working 100% !!

New to this site but have done days of searches for my problem. Since JB update my bluetooth is not working and I have also found out Airplane mode is messed up also. Both will have slight responses for a short time after booting , then nothing. I down graded back to ICS and I get some functionality and have actually paired a device but does not work correctly. Asus wants the tablet sent back , but it sure seems to me as it is Op system causing all of this. It was working fine before. I am new to messing around with android , So one question is since I down graded to ICS 4.0 does the actual device firmware downgrade completely also ? I see that Bluetooth Version lowered and other versions lowered , but could something else not get back to that version , some type of Bios type settings? ( I was told no Bios in android ,but is there something like it ? )
So does anyone have the same problems , any answers or thoughts ?
Is there a way to erase everything completely and go back to the exact files software , kernals etc. as when in the box it came in.
Sure seems to act like a software driver type problems.
What are the "Source Code" that are offered on the Asus Site ? Can those used to be used to Factory fresh the device ?
I do not want to void any warrenty , but before I send back I want to see if it is Hardware or software.
Thanks

Source code is only useful for software developers. To restore your device as close to factory state as possible, install the full firmware package of your desired version, as you already did when downgrading, and wipe data.
Things not restored by this method:
- device-dependent settings (e.g. serial number, sensor calibration data)
- DRM key
- Partition table
These usually cannot be changed by the user and therefore do not need to be restored anyway.
My main concern is the kernal, I feel that this may be the cause of my problems , if indeed the hardware does not have a problem. So when I restored to ICS , Did the kernal complete revert to factory also ? I understand now that the Kernal is the ( Bios) of Android , takes comands from software and tells hardware what to do . ( Right ? )
I am finding that the "Factory Reset " from from "Setting" does not truely reset all settings ( I set a Sound Setting before Reset , and the same setting was "on" after the reset ), therefore a "Firmware" reset back to ICS may leave the reason my bluetooth and airplane is not working.
So is there a way to use the "blob" with-out rooting or causing a warrenty issue ?
The kernel is part of the full firmware, so it is flashed when you install the firmware. It is the core of the operating system and also contains all the hardware drivers. The PC BIOS would be more comparable to the tablet's bootloader, as it only initializes the hardware and loads the kernel.
Your problem description is completely worthless. If you expect help, state exactly what you did, which error messages appear, and describe in detail what does not work and what you expected.
I thought i expalined better. I will try again. I used my bluetooth on my tablet connected to my phone and sent photos to tablet from phone. All was fine, Did not try and use bluetooth again untill a week later ( 3 days after OTA JB update ) now the bluetooth does not work and I see that Airplane mode is not working correctly either.
Since this happened right after the JB Update , It made since to me it is an update problem. I was wanting to go back to the exact state before update to see if errors were gone. I have re installed ICS and had better response from bluetooth , was able to pair a device but after pairing would not work ( headphones , sound stayed on tablet ) .
With these findings it would lead me to beleave two things , the "Firware install of ICS " left traces of the newer Kernal , that caused the problem or the Tablet hardware is the problem.
does that make more since to you ? Sorry about the first Question. I have let the tablet do the OTA back to JB and still in the same situation. I have an RMA set up , but I just like to know for sure the cause before sending back.
Thanks for you time.

I'm giving up.
Ok, Well thanks for trying ? I do not have any other info. to tell you then my last reply , that is all that I can explain , What is wrong what I did and what I was trying to figure out by process of elimination.
First of all i am thinking that my device has been changed, as its LCD got broken so i gave it to repair shop to repair it, and after recieving it i hard reset it, when i tried to add google account it wont add.
Then i taught its because of the time, the time is set to 1970.
Seriously :cyclops:
Well then i check my software version as i have previously updated it to kitkat 4.4.4 it is showing 4.4.2
This is the baseband version
vanquish_bp_100731.020.64.21P
I have reset it again, but time wont change, will rooting make it happen, or any suggetion what i should do with it.
I cant use google apps
you got hit with the 1970 bug man,in my case only disconnecting the battery worked.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2580974
See if it works for you.
EDIT: Seems PhilZ and TWRP have a built-in fix, please read the thread above.
I dont have any idea how to remove its battery,
Thanks for the link i will sirely check it, but for a note i am a complete newbie and the phone is on stock rom, i dont know how to mod/custom rom it
No help :crying::crying::crying:
Hello people of XDA!
I know that this thread may be repetitive, but I unfortunately didn't find any help in all threads regarding GSII's NAND r/w problem.
So in short, I will explain what happened to this device
I bought this GSII brand new as my 1st flagship device, and I am kind of sentimentally connected to it, if not I would've thrown it in trash a long time ago.
So here is the thing
I had stock firmware on this device (4.1.2 JB) , and after some time decided to flash CM 11 on it when it came out, and had it on my phone for 4-5 weeks but I instantly noticed that my device was overheating with that ROM so I decided to get back on stock firmware, unfortunately thing is that i flashed android 4.0.3 ICS (Movistar Mexico) then my device got bricked (I had a really bad knowledge back then about roms and things that I SHOULD and SHOULDN'Tdo), anyway I tried fixing the mess I made by flashing my original android 4.1.2 JB rom (Telenor Serbia) hoping that will solve my bricked device, but unsuccessfully. Then I tried flashing again standardly for maybe 4-5 times with no success and decided to explore more functions that odin provides, so I checked NAND erase all last time I flashed and I guess made a huge mistake, but still I couldn't boot my device, I tried hard resetting it (I lost my power button while replacing the screen of my phone, so I couldn't boot into recovery to check if device is soft bricked or really hard bricked, but download mode works just fine). Still I tried, I flashed custom kernels hoping they would fix this brick but nothing happened, I would really like to get this thing working again, I had no success at finding a good mainboard to replace the old one, and doing it in official repair shops and non-official ones costs more than the phone itself. Sorry for asking the same old question I guess but I would be really thankful if I could get this working again!
S8+ /S8 Global Unlocked Variants, (ie: G955FD, etc) Desperately need help w/issue After 8.0 Update...
Hi, I have a G955FD & have family members with this same model, as well as the Global unlocked regular S8-dual sim. We all have the same issue after the Samsung 8.0.0 update. The phone is no longer reliable. Randomly, these devices will not have any ring on incoming calls. If they don't leave a VM, then you have no indication of a missed phone call. In addition, random periods where text messages will also just not come thru. Difference on the texts is, when you reboot, they all populate in the message app and notifications. But the incoming calls are not known and lost forever w/o a VM left for you by caller.
I have been in contact with Samsung, although they indicate right off that I have no warranty because I didn't buy a carrier device from an authorized vendor for my local use, they were open & helpful to reveal that they are aware of '8.0 ringer issues' on the unlocked global devices. BTW, this must be a huge number of people across the world with this problem, but like my friends/family, originally think they have signal/carrier issues etc. Samsung says that it should be addressed in a patch or update..... but, WHEN? I have had a messed up phone for over 3months and counting.
The only thing that can be done to attempt having the phone work 'more often' is to do a restart every hour all day long and hope that your phone will ring when someone is calling.
I, personally, being the family tech guy, am the one working on the issue so I'm here to ask for help/input.
Been dealing with this issue for over 3 months now, here's some of what I have done and what I'd like help with please...
I have attempted 5x to install a custom ROM from XDA to alleviate this issue completely, but as of now, still unsuccessful. I've been rooting/hacking my android devices since my 1st but somehow can't get the process to work thru. At this point, using Odin, I have no issue to get my phone running TWRP and rooted. Somehow, after that point something isn't going right and my phone has to be re-odin flashed with OEM ROM and then wait 1 week for OEM unlock to re-appear to try again. So, If I could complete this process next time the OEM-unlock is back up, my problem would be over.
Now, since I am having issue with completing a custom ROM install... I thought, why not flash a previous OEM ROM (7.0 NOUGAT) and again, my problem should be over and I could wait until a 9.0 update to see how that goes. So far, any 7.0 stock ROMS I have been able to find/download, have 'failed' install in Odin. (I have standard Odin, patched and Prince Comsey) so I always try them all before I say it's a true fail.
Can anyone help me to understand why, with all the root/roms Ive done, cannot get custom ROM to complete install. I was trying for the CarHD or Batman. after rom flash, something goes wrong and the phone either goes bootloop or failed verify. (BTW, couple X I did flash the no-verify to alleviate that issue but still get bootloop or no new rom boot up)
The other thing I'd love to be able to do right now that 'should' be a piece of cake, (but hasn't been) until I figure out the custom rom install issue, is to ask for anyone that can post a link to a valid ODIN-flashable Stock 7.0 NOUGAT ROM for my S8+ G955F/FD. That would solve everything for now and I'd just disable updates for the interim. As previously mentioned, the couple I have found would only FAIL on Odin flash attempts. Seeing that this is a global, unlocked device, is it possible to flash a stock rom or flash a diff CSC that can get me North America Tmobile setup (my USA provider) I noticed that the global phone has no options to disable LTE or turn wifi calling on/off etc.
I apologize if I have jumped around in my post, not provided enough details or not written very eloquently, but I am happy to provide any other needed info to move forward if any of you have ideas here. I'm just at the end of my rope with this right now.
Any help, input here is much appreciated! TIA! mark~
Trying to be helpful here.
For some folks flashing with Odin the first run through errors/fails. That issue was a PITA. I found a post somewhere which said when you hook up the phone to flash with Odin, the first attempt will fail, but to leave the phone connected, go back into download mode, and flash again. Do not unplug the phone when you do this.
For some reason there's a kink in Odin with some folks.
That info, wish I could recall who by - they deserve the recognition, anyway it solved all my Odin errors.

hey jeff, thanks for checking in when the OEM unlock button returns again tomorrow, I'll keep this in mind on my next attempt. i did encounter that fail several times with some OEM firmware flashes (trying to go back to 7.0) and this should resolve that problem. overall though, my real issue seems to be when attempting a root/custom rom instead of a stock replacement... and 'after' i get TWRP completed. I'm doing something wrong with a button hold sequence or something else. maybe need flash 'do not verify' right off too. I'm gonna go extra slow/careful following each step from a great, detailed post for TWRP/ROOT/ROM procedure that i found here over weekend written by 'jesec' what i hate the most is, i only have 1 shot doing this with the oem unlock button, if messed up, have to re-flash a stock rom and wait another 7 days to try this all again.
i still cannot believe its been about 13wks and samsung says they are aware, yet still has not patched this problem. i love my samsungs but im so fed up, i almost ordered a oneplus 6 this weekend just because of this random no ring issue.
thanks much!
Good morning, I've been on the phone for two days now that's crazy ... and everything is clear to touch where I should not surely hehe
I comment a little to see if you can throw me a handle, either to put the phone right or neck.
I had a rom on my cell phone for maybe 4 or 5 months and the only thing that a couple of weeks or so ago every time I went in the car or with the bike when using bluetooth calls failed, so I started looking in internet and I saw that many rom failed in that, because I decided to put another rom. All good, but the same mistake followed and the one that did not vibrate added up. Well now I have been trying to try different but yesterday there is no way, you can see that I made a small brick. After talking for some comments on YouTube, he told me that it could be that he has damaged binary, (I do not know what it is), they told me to download to Android 6.0
The question is yes, I tried a firmware (the only one that I could install with odin, the rest always fails) and I have now the phone that works half, because it still does not vibrate, every time I turn on I have to enter key wifi and some more things , not counting the andorid that I have haha that is outdated.
Testing with Odin to install other firmware now I get on the mobile, secure check fail bootloader. (I understand that it may be that the bootloader is blocked) but I do not know how to unblock it either, I have the developer options enabled with debugging usb and OEM.
I have also tried to install with Odin the TWRP and it comes out that if it has been installed correctly but then I try to get in and out fail and restart.
I have seen that there is a guide here for TWRP but it is for android 7.0 ... so I do not think it's good either.
After this billet ... does anyone give me a hand?
Thank you very much in advance!
PD: I add, right now I have the J710FXXU5BRC3 version but J710FXXS3AQG1 runs too. both with android 6.0
PD2: another mistake, is that when I go to flash it puts: sw rec. check fail. device 5, binary 3
