I noticed that there are a lot of great tweaks out there for android phones, but most users cant find them because they're distributed all over XDA. So here i am, with a collection of those tweaks, in an All in one flashable zip. Merged some, modified some, add a lot. Its pretty much a universal tweak, it will work on every device.
And if your going to add this to your ROm, please let me know and add me to the credits!
How to's-
Install:
1. Boot into CWM
2. Wipe dalvik cache

All custom kernels have init.d. For stock kernels you can use pimp my rom, is the easiest way. Then you will have a folder called init.d in system/etc

**READ entire OP before making changes**
NOTE: No other modifications were made but the below to the default ROM!!!
I have done alot of research/testing and the governor used in this release with its tweaks made my hero smoother, faster, and my battery is better.
*All GB/Froyo Hero Kernels Supported
*Easy installation
V This tells you what the tweak helps with.
Changelog
*Changed and tweaked ONDEMAD governor. Better for graphics, and overall battery usaged
*changed Frequencies to improve panadora palyback when screen sleeps.
*Optimized the VM system (Note: All the changes were designed to go together)
*Increased File_max to 65535 ( Better file system performance: Still testing)
*Fixed a report issue where market apps cant report your Radio version. (usefull for app devs)
*debug.sf.hw no longer set through the prop
*Video HW Mode if available.
*tweaked the lowmemorykiller for better app and sys responsiveness manually.
(Note: Avoid Taskkillers)
NOTE: If your using another radio like say 2.42.01.04.23
just change 2.42.02.10.29 to 2.42.01.04.23 in my 30cpumem file.
Installation:
*ADB Push 30cpumem to /system/etc/init.d
or
*Use Rootexplorer or any file manager (That can edit SYSTEM files) to place 30cpumem in this directory /system/etc/init.d
* Finally Reboot the phone.
CyanogenMod Settings:
JIT On (Heapsize 32m garbage collection is low, jit can maximize performance)
Heapsize recommendation for the Tuner is 32m (less garbage collection)
Compcache set to off (We need all the physical Memory available)
CHEERS!
Nice and snappy. Camera looks sort of washed out though. Might just be all the florescent lights in here though.
It was a no go on CWM3 .
Sent from my HTC Hero CDMA using XDA App
Flashed back to cwm rec 2.5 and works bueno... Also its snappy on Cmod 1/26 ...

Many of us (including myself) can't run (in fact, can't even boot) reliably at any speed over 691.
That's why there are 691mhz versions of all the popular kernels out there.

Fusion Kernel for the One S (S4)
Lastest Version: v1.1 (7/18/12)
This kernel is no longer supported. I have completely re-based from scratch and released a new kernel, Fusion Ultimate. Please check it out.
Thanks for all the support.
This is a kernel based off of the lastest US T-Mobile sources that just released.
It is compatible with all One S's with an S4 processor.
*Disclaimer*
Code:
I am not responsible for anything that happens to your device.
By using this you are taking full responsibility blah blah blah....
...you get the point
As there are many people working on ROMs for the One S, I have decided to start maintaining a custom kernel for it. Again, this is based off of the TMOUS kernel sources that just released a few days ago. I will add more and more features to it for new releases. Note that this is only compatible with stock Sense-based ROMs, not AOSP-based ROMs like CM9 or AOKP. Maybe in the future I will create an AOSP version. Enjoy
v1.0 (Initial Release)
- Based off the T-Mobile US kernel sources
- All features from mdeejay's latest virtuous kernel
- Overclocked to 2.1Ghz by default --> use SetCpu or similar app to change
- Added SmartassV2 governor (gives extraordinary battery life and performance, look here)
- tweaked SmartassV2 frequencies for better compatibility
- insecure kernel (root in adb)
v1.1
- Fixed CPU issues from virtuous kernel (hopefully)
- Enabled init.d scripts support with busybox run-parts
- Reverted to stock GPU 2D and 3D frequencies
- CPU now default 1.5Ghz
- SmartassV2 as default governor
- make CPU1 (second core) to be online
- good battery life

v1.0 (boot-071712.img): http://d-h.st/vtX
v1.1 (boot-071812.zip): http://d-h.st/jsd
How to install:
Flash the zips with TWRP recovery.
Kernels will be in zips now. The reason is because some stock patch scripts from /system/etc were interfering with the CPU frequency settings, hence some the issues from Virtuous kernel. The zips flash the patch scripts as well as the kernel.

What he means is do the clock settings stick after reboot. In virtuous kernel it went back to Max from boot and the settings had to be set again.

That was one problem. Some people, myself included, also had an issue where the kernel settings were only applied to CPU0. CPU1 would stay at whatever the kernel's default min/max speeds were regardless of the settings in SetCPU (or any other cpu app for that matter).

Change log and bug tracker
Release 2:
Included parts from jeffsf's hefe kernel
Now has OC/UV option (Works great with setcpu in Gummy)
New bootsplash
Fully integrated Lightning Zap tweaks
Only ROM based init.d tweaks needed. (Might want to remove any kernel based scripts from init.d, i.e. 04sys in Gummy)
Release 1:
Kernel is injected with Lightning Zap (Yep, it's built right into it)
Includeds necessary modules, binaries, libs
Includeds necessary init.d scripts to get the FULL Lightning Zap benefits
Download Links:
SGS4G_LZ_Kernal_r2.zip
Just download the zip, extract it, open /TeamFahQ-sgs4g_lz_kernel-ac3ecd1 and copy/cut all files and folders found inside
Then, in your build directory, navigate to /kernel/samsung/galaxys4gmtd, remove all files and folders in that directory and paste the ones you just copied.
If you just want to build the kernel and you are using the build directory from Team Acid or GummyMutt (source will be completed soon):
In terminal, navigate to your working directory
Type**:
Code:
source build/envsetup.sh
lunch
make bootimage
Then download the Lightning Zap! Tools to create a flashable cwm package
Just copy/paste boot.img and /system/modules/* into the /system folder, compress with 7z, place on sdcard, reboot to recovery, flash and enjoy.
**NOTE I use my GummyMutt directory to build so this may or may not work for you.

The Beast Mode kernel was buit by sbryan12144 from Team Blackout. It based on Team Virtuous HTC msm7x30 3.0 kernel. A month later, p2pjack forked blackout kernel repo and started writing his own kernel, then he named it "Beast Mode MOD kernel". Unfortunately, 2 weeks later, p2pjack had bought a Nexus 4 and moved on. So i PMed him to let me take over his work and continue working on it. This is what he said to me:

Trick:
How to check which touch screen driver you have?:
Download 'Terminal Emulator' App from Google Play, then type this in:
Code:
cat /sys/android_touch/vendor
Then you will see some kind of 'code' like this:
Code:
ATMEL_blahblah_blahblahblah :p
, that means you have Atmel touch screen driver.
Sweep2wake feature:
Authored by show-p1984. If you don't know how it is, please spend a little time to watch this Video:
To active/control it, you should use ViperDHD ROM, there is a option in Venom Tweaks (Setting Application -> Scroll down a bit -> Venom Tweaks), you can control it (Only can 'Enable' or 'Disable' for now, 'Enable (no backlight buttons)' option hasn't worked yet, DO NOT TRY IT!).
If you use another Sense ROMs (Sabsa Prime/Bliss, Blackout, Virtuous Infinity...), download "Sweep2Wake-Widget" app from Google Play Store. It's a Widget, so use it as a Widget, download it, then add the Widget to your home screen, tap it. When it turn to green color, s2w is ready/
Get the 'last_kmsg' and 'kmsg' files:
To get those file. Just use a File Manager app which can access to "/" partion. Then access to "/proc", you will find them in there.

Hi p2pjack! News from new kernel? So excited for this news!! All we must say THANKS 1000 times!
What is the difference between the v0.1 and v0.2? And can this be flashed on Blackout 3.2?
Thanks.

The only change is the kernel patched to 3.0.56 change log for that can be found here http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v3.0/ChangeLog-3.0.56
should work on blackout 3.2 always make a backup first
Will observe v0.1 for a day, than flash v0.2. Thanks again for all the hard work.

I have been using LG P500 from last 2 years. I have tried many custom ROM but now back to stock ROM.
Can anyone tell me how to use INT2EXT on this ROM, as I already tried flashing these scripts in recovery. But unfortunately none of it worked.
I followed this thread

Does the stock rom have init.d support? If you look in system/etc is there an init.d folder?
As far as I know stock ROM doesn't come with init.d support
But you can use this app to add init.d support

Can anyone help me with this????
You cannot run int2ext or link2SD on stock because the stock kernel doesn't support ext partition. Try using a custom kernel that supports ext partition .

Flash djnoxd kernel with new gpu libs, then flash int2ext

If I had to flash a new kernel then the purpose of being on Stock ROM will diminish.
The purpose of being on stock ROM that there is no real bug in ROM and great battery life.
Is there any other mod which I can you besides flashing kernel?
I'll just combine the above posts because they're all incomplete.
First of all, you need busybox installed.
Install it from here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsInN0ZXJpY3Nvbi5idXN5Ym94Il0.
Then, you need to add init.d support (this will enable running scripts on boot)
For this, you have to install this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wyLDEsImNvbS5hbmRyb2d1aWRlLnBpbXAubXkucm9tIl0.
Then, you need a custom kernel like Candied kernel. And finally, you can flash INT2EXT.

I tried the PimpMyRom but no success and the point is that I don't want to flash a kernel.

Well then you can't get these or any scripts to work on stock I'm afraid.

If I have to deal with few bugs on my own, then its better that i'll use some custom rom again with init.d support.

Why don't you use link2sd? It's supported on stock roms, i'm using it on Stock GB 2.3.5 (Rooted obviously) and it works great, 240 apps and 62MB of free internal memory
