so i just received my g2 in the mail today and i love it. I have a mt3g right now and have a little problem with dropping my phone so i want to protect this one. I remember seeing some people's droids with a really thin 2-piece grippy/rubbery hardshell that barely increased the size of the phone. does anybody know if there are any cases like this out for the g2 right now? or maybe know who made the one for the droid so i can look out for one for the g2?
I got the gel skin from tmobile, its real "grippy" and its hard under the rubber. Comes in 2 peices and snaps on. Well worth the 16.99 to me!

I have the body guard. Looks to be the same thing as the gel skin.
The gel skin from T-Mobile is great.
I found the Body Glove from Best Buy. Just snaps on.

would you mind posting a couple pics please? I was checking that one out but there are no pics on the website and it says its not shipping til the 16th. you would be my hero
I too went with body glove and was quite satisfied. I posted a review on here, but to sum it up: it is very protective, but def. not as "grippy" as a gel case..but it also won't collect as my pocket lint as a gel case, in my experience. And yes, it does add a little bulk - maybe a little more than a gel?
I added a few files for good measure.
A while ago I saw my friends case on her S4. It was the UAG case in an orange/grey color combo. She's had it a couple of months. It looked pretty cool, so iI asked her how she likes it.
Her response was that she likes it a lot.
I then asked her if she's ever dropped her S4. Her response was:
"Oh yeah, I drop it all the time."
That's exactly what I like to hear when determining whether I want to give a particular case a go
I liked the look of her case, but didn't know how it would hold up to drops regarding protecting the S4. I had been using a Cygnett WorkMate Evolution case for a month or so. I like it, but the UAG is a slimmer and better looking case, but I was unsure if it would protect my S4.
Well, I had my answer, as she 'drops it all the time," and her S4 is intact.
I purchased the UAG in black yesterday from Amazon and just received it today.
Here's my opinion so far:
- really nice looking case, minimalistic, yet protective
- fits the S4 perfectly. Snug as a bug in a rug, as they say
- generous usb and earphone plug ports
- volume and power buttons have an excellent/responsive/clickie feel to them.
- nice lip for screen facedown protection
- corner protective bumpers incorporate into the layout and total look of the case very well
- has a very nice feel in hand. Imo, can use a little grippier feel, but as I've only just received this case a few hours ago, I'll give it some time. I'm coming from the Cygnett WorkMate Evolution case, which is bulkier and grippier, so as I said, I'll know better in a couple of days regarding whether the not as grippy feel will be a factor.
- while the metallic UAG branding on the back of the case is of high quality, I'd rather have it blackened instead of the matt metallic it is now. I pay enough money for the case that I don't have to be a walking billboard for the UAG Company. I'll wait a bit, but I may dye the matt metallic to a darker color. Maybe not.....
- the UAG has now replaced my Cygnett as my EDC....
- protects my friend's S4 after 'dropping it all the time.'
After purchasing the UAG, and prior to receiving it today, I watched the linked video below, which also confirmed the protection of this case.
I also linked to Amazon, which shows the available colors.

I have one of these also. I had had it on the s3 previously and was very impressed. I got the rust orange colour.
This would be the first case I would look for when I get a new phone.

Probably one of the top minimal cases you'll get that still offers adequate protection.

I had the SPG Hybrid Neo a couple of months ago which I returned after 2 days.
It doesn't compare to the UAG in terms of build quality, protectiveness and looks (subjective) imo

I hated the Neo Hybrid too. I ended up keeping it because I forgot to fill out the return form Ahaha
I have the black UAG (Looks badass with the black s4), the orange (looks cool, I'll admit that, but in person and on your phone it looks a bit obnoxious) and the blue (I havent been using it that much, just love how sleek the black case is)
Actually have a hot pink one for the wifey's iphone 4 ( yes our house is divided haha) thats pretty cool.
I have the OD green for the s3 too and really wish they'd make an s4 version.

Pink? Hmmm.....
Nah, I'll keep the Black:laugh: (They don't make it for the S4 anyway, unless the Plasma is the equivalent of the Pink)
I almost ordered the Slate/Blue but chose the Black.
The Slate/Blue must be popular, as it's $34.95, and the Black is $29 (price drop from $31.53) on Amazon
Very satisfied with the UAG case:good:

A month or so before getting the UAG case or any case, as I always went caseless, I ordered the glass tR I believe it was. I returned it because I decided to order a caseionly, and take my chances that the screen wouldn't take a direct hit to a corner or an edge of something.
At the time, I decided nottto oder the Slim because I thought it was too thin, and wouldn't protect the screen as well as the thicker protector. This was confirmed by SGP in response to an email I sent.
I think the Slim was .15mm, and the tR was .40mm and the glas t is .25mm without round corners if I remember correctly.
With the above being said, how does the UAG screen lip height and Glas t protector height match up?
I have been reading lots of posts in XDA trying to decide what my case should be. I bought the Incipio dual layer case just to get me by until I did some more research.
All of my other phones have had Seidio active case/ holster combos. They have been really good cases
I have been thinking of trying something different this time
The UAG is on the top of my list
Im in construction so I need to have a case that can withstand my environment. I have dropped my Rezound with the Seido case from about 10' on concrete multiple times and nothing ever happened to it.
Do you guys think it can hold up like the Sedio case does?
I remember seeing someones post in another topic in XDA that the UAG case will fit the Seido holster
Can anyone confirm this?
I also want to get a desktop charger for the phone, Is anyone with a UAG using a desktop charger, if so what charger are you using?
I have seen lots of people talking about screen protection and getting a case that has the front clear protector such as the otterbox. Im not sure why people think that a clear plastic cover would stop the screen from breaking, besides the screen is gorilla glass 3, if that screen takes a hit hard enough to break it, a thin layer of plastic wont make any difference other then to keep all the tiny pieces of glass from flying all over the place
Thanks for any info you guys might have
@Hitch_Itch
I can't answer all of your questions as I've not had experience with the accessories you've asked about, but the following will answer some of your questions:
- I have no doubt that the UAG will not fulfill your requirements for your environment.
- the UAG can survive up to a 6' drop, as per the videos, but I'm not sure if it would be on a consistent basis.
- my opinion would be that you would need a case that offered Full wrap protection such as the model you mentioned, that you dropped from 10' without issue. The UAG wrapped S4 would no doubt suffer massive injuries from that height
- in your environment, there would most likely be drops from even short distances were the S4 would hit an edge, corner, etc., land on its screen which would crack it, as the UAG case does not have a built in full wrap screen protector incorporated into it. As you mention, the screen protector would only protect against scratches.
- no way can the UAG hold up under extreme conditions such as the Seido case can.
This is because the UAG case is not meant to be. It doesn't fall under the Extreme Environment, Full Wrap, Closed Ports Umbrella, so to speak. That is a whole nutha subset of cases for quite different needs/requirements.
- If one is looking for an everyday case with a minimalist footprint, that is lightweight, easily slid into a pocket, offers adequate protection from drops normally encountered during everyday use, and is aesthetically appealing, I highly recommend the UAG. But for Extreme Environment survival, I don't recommend it for the reasons I mentioned earlier.
As is said, the right tool for the right job. Or something like that
While looking at the UAG, I came across many cases. One of theseccases was the Griffin Survivor.
I said to myself if I ever need a case to protect my S4 under the most of Extreme conditions, this is the case I'd take a serious look at and most likely purchase. I'm posting a link to it:

I just watched a bunch of video's on drop test for the UAG and in every video the screen cracked at a fall above 5'
Also watched a bunch of videos for the otter box and the Trident case drop tests, both protected the phone and some of the videos were a 50' toss down a set of concrete stairs.
Sounds like the UAG might not be the best case for me.
Thanks for the reply
A great case, I've dropped this phone from several angles between 5 and 6 feet and no problems. It's small and durable.I love it

It's Been a Week
Well, it's been a week since I received my UAG in Black for my S4.
I'll keep this short & sweet, as I posted in detail my observations about this case.
The UAG is definitely a keeper and am impressed with it.
As for the case maybe not being as grippy as I'd like, and I was going to let some time pass to see if it would be an issue, it's no issue at all. The case is not slippery at all, and offerers a good hold.
I haven't dropped the S4 yet, so I can't given you any feedback on drop protection, except what I wrote in my op.
This case is a Winner :good:

Have ever had the Incipio dualpro case?
If so how does the Uag compare to it?
Hi folks,
Just wanted to share my experience with this new case that I got last week, it's called Crusta, made by Amzer, I have used Amzer products in the past, but this case is something very different from their regular stuff I have used in the past.
Since, I have replaced 2 screens on my S5 in last 4 months, I really wanted to get something which protects the device, don't want to spend more money on repairs, initially thought of going ahead with OtterBox but I saw an ad on Facebook for Crusta. Having used Amzer in past, I ordered it (even got 25% off part of their promotion!)
Really loving the case, it is a bit on the bulky side, but not as much as an otter box, it is right mix of protection and style, they claim it is 6 feet drop proof, it did fall out of my pocket 2-3 times and no visible damage. The thing i really like about this case is that it came with a very nice and tough glass screen protector and a belt clip. Really neat bundle. The back of the case is very nice and stylish with clear backing. Only wished this case was waterproof, but for $45 its a great buy, I got yellow and black combo, but really good color options, lots of them.
If you are looking to get an otterbox, i would suggest you give this a try and save some money!
Have a look here - www.amzer.com/crusta
I will be posting pictures after I manage to get some decent pictures from my second phone

I've been looking for a case/holster combination and just came across this one. I had previously ordered the Seidio Dilex and was not happy with it mainly because it is so slick. The Seidio adds quite a bit of bulk also but I think I'd be ok with that if it just wasn't so slippery. Can you tell me a little about the holster? I need something that holds the phone safely. I prefer holsters that rachet and need a little force to spin around. What do you think about this one?
How'd you get 25% off? I'm interested in possibly ordering one.

So I also have the Seidio Dilex and I ordered a Crusta just to see what the differences were. Here's what I noticed aside from what the OP stated:
-The belt clip, where it attaches to the belt, has a lot tension so it grabs tightly
-It is a U-Clip on the clip, but instead of a solid piece it is two "teeth" that wrap underneath the belt
-Phone case seems to fit loosely when the screen is facing out/clips in very tightly with screen facing inward (I prefer screen facing in)**
-The rotating clip looks like a gear assembly. When you turn it, it settles into the grooves and won't spin so it is omni-directional
-Online photos looks like the camera would be touching if laid on its back. The outer edge of the case keeps it from touching so no worries there
-Heart rate sensor is easily accessed and works well. Fingerprint scanner will work, but you will have to be accurate since the rubber has no give
-The Amzer is thicker overall than the Seidio Dilex and probably the exact same width as the Seidio would be if the kickstand went all the way up
**Might just be my case, OP would have to chime in
My overall so far is that I like it, but I want to test out the belt holster more before I wholeheartedly recommend it. The case is good and I love the tempered glass screen protector that came with it. The rubber is not slick at all and has a fake stitching look around the front face for aesthetics I suppose? Also, with this case on it barely fits in my Nathan's runners belt. Granted it is the smallest runner's belt, but with the grippy case rubber around it I won't be able to easily take it in and out to change songs or answer calls after I get it in there.
I'd like to post some pictures, but I need some suggestions of the best place to upload them for posting here? I just wondered what others would use and if you would like any specific pictures I am happy to oblige. I'll do a breakdown and couple of size comparison shots with the Dilex.
Edit: I personally won't be using the fingerprint scanner because as I found out, it you register a fingerprint while the case is on you should be able to unlock it. If you register it with the case off and put the case on, it most likely won't accept the scan. My experience was scanning in a fingerprint with the case on and took the case off to take pictures and it wouldn't take my fingerprint at that depth. If you are never going to take the case off this may work for you. However if you have pre-registered fingerprints and you put the case on you may lock yourself out. Just my experience.

I would suggest this case for sure, though I don't buckle the phone to my waist much, but the holster is really nice and high quality, the clip for rotation is also very smooth but at the same time not 'loose'. The video on their site says to put the phone face in for best results, but even face out is ok, the holster really holds the phone in really well.
My past experience with a seidio case for my S4 wasn't that great either, they tear up after some time and the support team is really not upto the mark. This case is not exactly thin, but it's a lot less than Otterbox, also this case has very very good grip on the TPR ring they have provided, so it won't be slippery like Seidio for sure.

I used a Diztronic TPU on my Galaxy Note 3 so I was very happy to see a preorder on Diztronic's website for a full matte version for the Note 4. I preordered on Nov.16 and received the case on Saturday.
My impressions of this case are very positive. The case is slim and fits the phone nicely. Mine shows no bulging or loose edges. The matte TPU does provide some screen standoff on the front side. I measured this at 0.75mm. Mic, headphone, USB and pen holes align nicely and the buttons retain a nice tactile feel with this case. I use a Verizon Note 4 and can confirm that the case I received DOES have a slotted left side mic opening to support the Verizon Note 4. The button covers are molded into the TPU but have pronounced edges, so they are easy to find without having to look at the phone.
I use the YooTech wireless charging receiver insert and the Diztronic TPU fits nicely with this receiver in place. I do not believe it would fit with the factory wireless charging back as the case fits perfectly to the stock phone. The case does have a small raised ridge around the camera lens and small ridges around the speaker. This gives some protection for the camera lens and keeps the case from "sealing" against the table and muting your notification tones. The area around the flash is open and I am able to very reliably get heart rate readings for S Health, something that isn't easily found with many thicker cases.
The TPU material is quite thin. Diztronic's website says 1.6mm and my measurements seem in line with that number. The case does not add much bulk and for sure feels slimmer in the hand all-around when compared to the Spigen Slim Armor I had been using since I got the phone. I'm sure it won't provide the kind of protection that the Slim Armor does, as the cushioning material is thinner, but it sure does feel nice in the hand while offering some level of protection over a bare phone.
One of the things I really like about this case is the matte finished TPU. It feels smooth and slick in hand and does not show much in the way of fingerprints. The matte finish slides easily in/out of your pocket. Diztronic made a good move by relocating their branding to the side of the case, which adds a little bit of grip and keeps the look super clean overall.
Overall, I'm really impressed with the Diztronic Full Matte TPU case for Note 4. It provides some protection for the phone and is a little more grippy in-hand than the bare phone. I like that the screen stands off a bit and the camera lens is somewhat protected. I also appreciate that the full matte finish doesn't collect pocket lint or gunk and doesn't show much in the way of fingerprints. And it looks classy!
I really like the Note 4 as a caseless device. It feels very slim for its size and feels great. Unfortunately, I know I am going to inevitably drop it at some point and want some protection without making the phone too bulky, which is really easy to do. The Diztronic Full Matte TPU feels like it hits that sweet spot for me. Time will tell, but for now I give it two solid thumbs up.
:good: :good:
I purchased this case direct from Diztronic: LINK I expect they will probably be available via Amazon shortly. They are currently showing as available on Diztronic's website in both matte black and matte grey.
Updated to include Verizon mic confirmation and pics attached.
Does it have an elongated mic opening for Verizon users? This is the case I've been waiting for...always a favorite.
Absolutely loved mine for my previous phone. Best TPU cases imo. Looking forward to seeing your pics.
I'll probably pick one up even though I might opt for a more protective case this time around.

Yes, my apologies - I thought I had called that out but must have lost it when editing. The Diztronic Matte TPU DOES have a slot shaped opening which supports Verizon Note 4. My Verizon Note 4 is shown in the pics I've added above.

Thanks for the update! I just ordered one. I've had a Diztronic case for my last 3 phones and have been happy with all of them. I'm sure this one will be no different.
thanks for the review! i've always been iffy with diztronic, yet i seem to get one per each phone i have just to have one lol..
out of all the TPU's i use, they're always the most bulky which i dislike, because i like them thin..but there's NO good note 4 tpu's out there whatsoever. i'm currently using a clear S line TPU, which is good and all, but the mic holes don't line up perfect, and it doesn't fit as well as it could..plus it's clear, and we all know clear starts looking like crap after a few weeks. i've gotten like 4 other TPU's and shell cases and I hate all of them.
diztronic is nice because they do a lip around the camera, which NO tpu's are doing right now, which means your camera is pretty much flush against the surface which i hate...and they also have two little bumps by the speaker to elevate the speaker off the table so it's not muffled! FINALLY, a TPU maker with some sense knocked into em!
either way, i ordered the gunmetal gray because every diztronic i ever got was always black, so i'm looking for a nice change. ordered today, they say those ship out tomorrow the 26th, so maybe I'll get it by saturday or monday with thanksgiving coming up and all. this will be like my 6th or 7th case already for the Note and I've only been using 1 lol
Does it fit with the OEM Qi back?

out of all the TPU's i use, they're always the most bulky which i dislike, because i like them thin..but there's NO good note 4 tpu's out there whatsoever. i'm currently using a clear S line TPU, which is good and all, but the mic holes don't line up perfect, and it doesn't fit as well as it could..plus it's clear, and we all know clear starts looking like crap after a few weeks. i've gotten like 4 other TPU's and shell cases and I hate all of them.

I don't find the Diztronic bulky at all. The Diztronic for the Note3 was very rounded feeling, where the Note 4 Diztronic is more squared off and edgy, just like the Note 4 itself. I think you'll like it and the holes line up nicely as pictured above.

As noted in my review, I do not believe it would fit with the OEM back. I say this because it fits relatively snug as-is with the stock back or stock back + thin Qi receiver. But I don't have an OEM Qi back to try it with.
My black one is scheduled to deliver on Saturday. I will post my thoughts at that time. Not like anyone cares.

but yeah, my gunmetal gray one is coming saturday! you know what's sad? this one wasn't even out, it was a pre-order, and i'm STILL getting it quicker than this nillkin bumper case i ordered on ebay from Nov 11th. it's from china, yet it's still not here yet. other chinese orders i've gotten took a week, maybe 1.5 weeks. it's over 2 weeks now for this stupid thing and i doubt i'll see it before the diztronic lol

Haha, what's up brother? I really liked my diztronic on my laggy as hell S4.
So I'm hoping to like this one as well. Good luck bro!
Diztronic makes the best TPU cases as far as I'm concerned. I was disappointed when they had to delay the release due to the Verizon mic hole revelation, and ended up going with a UAG case, but anybody looking for a great case for under 10 bucks, this is what you want. I might even pick one up for myself, just in case.
Diztronic is awesome. I had their case on my Note 3, LG G3, and now I'm waiting for the Note 4 case that supports the OEM wireless charging back. They made one for the S5, I really hope they make one for the Note 4!
I ordered mine today. It is only 12 Euro, together with shipping to Ireland, directly from manufacturer's page.
Already have Spigen Capsule and it is great, but flat buttons and flat speaker hole are not perfect for me. Diztronic seems to meet all my requirements. Hope it will appear to be true

I forgot to post yesterday, but I got my black Diztronic yesterday, a day earlier than estimated. It is the best case I've tried so far, although I haven't tried a lot yet.
The fit is perfect, not too loose or too tight. It adds almost no bulk which I really like. The matte black is awesome and feels great in the hand. Not super grippy, but it will do the job. All of the cutouts are perfect. The camera has enough raise that the lens won't touch a flat surface and the charger fits in without the case interfering. The buttons are also very easy to press, no problems there. In fact, the buttons are easier to press with this case on than without it.
The only thing I noticed is that in a couple areas, the frame moves pretty easily if you pull on it. Especially near the charging port. It doesn't sag at all which is great, but I just wonder if it will become an issue over time. Possibly not but that's the only small thing I've noticed so far.
Other than that, this case is fantastic and blows away any Spigen that makes your phone uneccesarily bulky and for less money.
I do also have an official Samsung protective case coming that is supposed to ship next week. I've heard that's also an amazing case, so I will compare once I get that.
I didn't take any pics of my Diztronic since so many great pics have already been posted. But let me know if you would like to see any.
I posted in the two case threads that I found on here, but I will post here anyway because I am pretty excited. I have used UAG cases for many of my phones and their build quality is fantastic. Unfortunately they did not have a model made for the LG G3, but it looks like they decided to produce one for the LG V10. That is great news to me! I was under the impression that they would not be making one according to a previous thread.

I had the cases for Note 3 and G4 and they're nice.
But $40 is...?
Finally! Knew this was in development and been running my phone naked for a while so I could get this. Thanks OP!
finger print
it says on their website they it is compatible with finger print reader, i wonder if they mean the issue with the case and finger print scanner or simply that it does not block the finger print reader .
I was waiting for this too! I have one for my note 2 and I really like it.
I hope they do some sort of sale though cause I'm feeling pretty cheap right now.
So are they both "clear"? I have to decide which color to get now...
There were no translucent cases when I was buying stuff for my note 2. I really like the idea though!

So I haven't seen any pictures at all really of the UAG case, specifically the Ash, so I decided to take a few.

It's a GREAT case guys. Best by UAG so far.

Thanks for the pictures. I'm waiting for mine to show up sooner or later.
I don't know if my OCD will let me live with the scratches on a brand new case.
Does the Spigen Glass scratch that easy?

The scratches can only really be seen if you angle it in the right lighting. It's not that bad in my opinion.
And yeah at least mine is. Kept the phone in the Spigen Ultra Hybrid case and babied it. Saw one day that I had the cluster of scratches you see in the picture. Decided to see if I could make any more scratches in that specific area with a knife or a razor blade, but it didn't scratch it so I'm not exactly sure what caused them.

Nice, so the case does not touch the tempered glass protector on the sides at all?
Is the rubber at the bottom/port area thin or thick? The UAG for my Note 5 is real thin at the bottom and I'm hoping it's a little thicker on the V10 case.

The case does not touch the screen at all. I tried taking some more pictures. Sorry for the Nexus 7 quality lol.

Looks Great, Thanks for the pics.
My UAG went to New York on it's way to Florida and I won't see it until next week.
You're welcome! If you'd be willing, could you update the thread with your findings regarding the scratches near the screws? Maybe mine is an isolated incident.
That's funny, mine has scratches in pretty much the same spot. I'm rarely staring at the back of my phone though so it really doesn't bother me. I'm really not feeling the fit of the case though. The UAG cases for my note 3 and 4 were much more squared off on the sides making them much nicer to hold. The v10 case is rounded on the sides so it's definitely much more slippery than what i'm used to from them. This case feels a lot like the Spigen slim armor case for my g3, which I wasn't a huge fan of.
I'll probably keep it on for a while to see if I can get used to it, but it's definitely disappointing as I was really looking forward to getting this one on and not worrying about a case again.

Will do, I have noticed those same lines/scratches near the fake bolts on other UAG cases for the Note 5 and S6 that I purchased in the past. It seems to be a problem on the transparent cases and not the solid colors.
Hopefully mine will show up Monday.
Just received my UAG case today. I have the same scratches. Questions. Did you receive a screen protector? Does your fingerprint scanner work?

im curious
how does the case make the phone feel in the hand? the phone itself is wide but with the added width from the case how much further do your figures stretch out?
Not much at all. Very comfy.

UAG has not been providing screen protectors with it's latest cases. I know the Note 5 UAG did not come with one.

Hey there, no I did not get a screen protector. The fingerprint scanner works just fine if you take advantage of the cutouts they made so you can make contact with the stainless steel.

This is how I'm accustomed to holding the phone now. Ring finger, thumb and my palm can all make contact.
Thanks for the tip. Came in handy.
