[Q] Toyes and Moretz - no performance control - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I'm running the latest Toyes ROM (May 20th) and moretz 3.0.6 and i'm missing the performance control app and it's not showing up under settings.
Anyone else having this issue? Haven't seen any posts on it so i'm guessing no. I've flashed twice, once dirty then tried a clean install and still nothing.
Keep in mind I may be blind or stupid. Or it could be a little of column a and a little of column b.
thanks.

Play store... android tuner, system tuner, incredicontrol I think thats the name of it. They will all do what you need.

Are your Developer options activated? Tap on build number 7 times in the about section. Should activate Dev options and performance settings. I saw a lot of roms where performance options were not shown by default.

There is no performance control included anymore. I might look into adding it in again but then it will not be true aokp anymore. You can use numerous apps from the play store to control the kernel. (See the first reply by *system error*)
Thanks,

Did not know that. Thank you! I usually use CM10.1 based ROMs. Did not make my final choice, there's so many to try!

I know performance control is not in the ROM but I figured with the Moretz kernel I would have the ability to overclock etc. if I wanted to. Not a big deal, I can use an app...
Thanks for the great ROM Toyes!

[Q] CyanoTouchWiz

I'm wondering if i can flash the cyanotouchwiz rom. I'm currently using SkyICS RC7.4 speed and also on UCLA3 modem with faux123-010b3_r2. Also if it matters kernel version 2.6.35.14. I bee looking around the forum and cant find post or a reply of anyone using cyanotouchwiz with UCLA3 modem. I want to flash the rom but i want to make sure i can before going forward and bricking my SR.
Thank you in advance.
Yes you can but make sure you use a program called apn backup and save your network settings. Then you install rom like anything else then the UCLA modem on top some say to do before but I didn't notice the difference... Also keep in mind that cyanowiz isn't built from UCLA and you would only be flashing the modem not the Kernal. After the ROM loads download apn backup and restore settings

Thank you for the reply. Another question though: I'm Assuming I have to flash da_ga kernel on top of rom right? Because that's the only kernel that would run on cm roms.

Does changing the settings from CDMA to RUIM/SIM have any effect on the performance or data usage? And also changing system select to Automatic what does that do?

Runs very smooth. Data works fine. Are the bugs the normal CM10 nightly bugs? I'd love to use this as a daily driver.
Ok so I tried this Rom for a lil while and everything seems to b running smooth. Just one thing, when I made a phone call with factory headphones I couldn't hear anything and they couldn't hear me. When I unplugged them it was fine. I also had no echo which was great. I even tried Ac!d audio v5 and then I couldn't hear not one sound. If u could look into this I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Btw this thing seems to b a beast. I would love to run this daily.

[ROM] VanirAOSP [official] [nightlies] [4.4.4] organized, clean, fast.

Welcome to VanirAOSP. Our mission is to deliver a clean optimized version of Android with subtly improved versions of the features you love to as many devices as possible. we've tried to incorporate and improve our features in a way that makes them more cohesive to improve the overall user experience while correcting any performance regressions and improving functionality..
What to expect:
- This is not a McCopy ROM. What goes into our build is well thought-out and not a bunch of stuff duck taped together because we could.
- maximum optimization. We do our research. We test hard. We build -fstrict -O3 globally and include a massive array of code optimizations and memory leak fixes that we write ourselves and eventually submit to AOSP or Linaro.
- originality in our source. We generate a lot of new commits being features or general code improvements. We are open source to share and improve the community but we also try to make sure we offer a unique experience.
- aesthetics.. hopefully in your opinion
General features:
stock mode - ability revert to stock AOSP code with the exception of a few custom features we chose to keep active
enhanced performance.. longer uptime with less slowdown
custom written CRON and init.d.
UI and graphics improvements
custom navbar, navring, and hardware key features
halo (active display & lockscreen notifications are in review)
usability improvements like power reboot menu and sound
animation control
Improved Vanir keyboard
CM's profiles & quicksettings
additional quicksetting tiles
immersive mode
statusbar mods
clock & battery mods
lockscreen blur and other mods
soon to come -> quick cam and flash notifications
busybox, embedded root, init.d, cron etc
yatta yatta yatta
more to come when i feel like updating the op

you new to flashing custom ROMs?
every time you change ROMs you should factory reset. it will keep your sdcard contents. as far as saved games it probably depends on the developer that made the game but it should hang on to them.

that picture is the 4.1.2 version of my galaxy nexus rom that uses the same source. i no longer include the version # in the pulldown and i use the stock icons because of theme chooser. i didn't steer very var from AOSP to leave it up to the user to decide how they want the ROM to look.
also, it should be noted that instead of using a ROM control app like AOKP or most other ROMs i decided it was more intuitive to include the features in their respective menus ie sound options under the sound setting header rather than having them in both settings AND rom control. look around there are a lot of subtle additions. to turn on developer options click on the build in about phone 7 times. in there is the reboot menu toggle. i felt this was a good place since the developer options are disabled for non-owner users with multiuser. that way somebody's kids don't reboot into recovery and cause havoc lol.

4.2 and 4.3 development is just getting underway. They run very smooth, it just that some things are still broken, like the camera, bln, and few little things. There are workarounds in the specific threads. Im currently running slimbean 4.3. Beanstalk 4.3 is killer too.

That's great to here. My last device had 4.2.2 running without any issues. And it was older than this device! I guess it depends on the developers! I expect great things

Imo, for stability, I go with the latest CM10 nightly with bluelightning X2 kernel, along with team killjoys scripts.

I see in the CM10 thread this list of bugs:
Known Bugs:
Screen of Death: This is a CM10 bug, many other devices are afflicted, not just the blaze. Many people are working hard to fix this.
UI action sounds may not work at first. Adjust the volume with the volume buttons, the sounds will then work fine. This is a known CM10 bug
BLN is wonky. Working on getting us merged with the stable version native to CM10.
Fixed 20121103+ : WiFi generates a random MAC address with each boot.
Camera: Flash can't be disabled
Camera: Storage location cannot be changed. This isn't really a bug, however if the interest is great enough, I might try and figure out a way to change the system default storage location.
Other things maybe? Discuss in the thread...

Are all of these bugs still present in the latest builds?
The latest nightly is 99.8% stable. Occasionally occasional people have occasional problems once in a while. Nothing is 100% usually. I've been running it for many months now. Just user ICS camera from the market and set it to use your sd card for saving pics.

I've since moved on from CM10. Not that it wasn't superb, but I went flash happy
I'm currently running Slimbean 4.3 20130905, and I've gotta say its pretty sweet. Its in beta stages so there will be a few bugs, but honestly the only ones I've come across so far is the camera crashes, the torch crashes, and setting performance tweaks cause a reboot. Other than that its buttery smooth. I HIGHLY recommend it, sir. Its a lightweight build for superior performance, and it delivers through and through. Also flash with the minimal gapps build to keep performance nice and creamy. Slimbeam + minimal gapps = 140mgb. Smaller than your average ROM.
I would never steer a fellow android enthusiast in the wrong direction
Flash it and see. You won't be disappointed. But hey, even if you are, just flash another one!!

To be perfectly honest Liquid Smooth gave me some trouble. Even after doing a completely fresh flash it wasn't stable in the least.
That being said it never hurts to give it a shot. I saw somewhere a kernel you could flash possibly fixing any issues you may have with it. Unfortunately it didn't work for me
Slimbean, CM and beanstalk, in my opinion, are where you'll find ultimate performance and creaminess

Not really, the only thing that still exists is the stock camera doesn't have the option to save to the external SD card. Easily fixable by using a camera from the market, like 'ICS camera'.

CM10 is flawless aside from the issue with the camera, Holmes. Flash it and see for yourself!!!
