The metal parts on your battery and also the corresponding metal parts on your phone where the battery goes. And also did the battery suffer any damage?

well, say the battery got damaged when dropped... then you can buy a new one! they aren't that expensive either. i've bought some in the past for just around 15 bucks.
if its just the battery that fell out then the phone itself should be fine.

well with my battery out - me neither.
but if your battery is screwed then its normal that your phone doesn't power up, etc...
so technically (if your phone is intact of course), buying a new battery could solve you problem

If any of your friends have the same phone, borrow their battery for a test, or even a repair shop may let you test to see if it's the battery or phone.. Either way, pull the sim, press the power button for 10 sec. without the battery, re install the sim and battery ( making sure that the connections are clean and not damaged) let the phone charge for an hour and try to boot it again, or boot loader ect.. Also try to re insert battery while charger is plugged into the phone.. ( another thread said that this can help a phone power up )..

Rub the terminals with a clean pencil eraser then try again.

Give us little more info, like the screen turn on? can you navigate around?, open the apps? no phone call, text? etc...
Your question is too vague. Need some more specifics. Power or usb? What does the phone screen look like?

[Q]Help, phone won't turn on. Red light flash.

I just noticed my phone last week and it wouldn't turn on. Occasionally after I take out the battery, put it back in and press the on button it'll flash the red led on the top once, and then it doesn't do it again. I don't know what to do, can someone help me? Do I have to call warranty?
I can't get to bootscreen or recovery or anything, no power. Tried it on computer usb and the power adapter.

Those batteries cost half as much as a new system
It's a gamble, I might try buying a new one and seeing if the battery swap will help.
Or if u still have warranty, first go to service centre!! They'll tell the issue
Heat your battery with your hands firs, or something like that(don't get it in the oven). Maybe will help.

Try charging your battery first with All-Battery charger or something similar and then try switching your phone on! Charge atleast for and hour or so!

[Q] USB Device Hard Bricked My S3

I plugged a USB device (VuPoint Magic Wand Scanner) into my GS3 and the screen went black. I pulled the battery, but the phone still wouldn't come on. When I plug my phone into a wall outlet, the charging light does NOT come on. The phone is totally unresponsive. Is there anything I can do to fix it? The phone has CynogenMod 10.1.0.3 on it. It is the 16gb model.
Thank you,

The computer does not recognize the phone either.
Well that scanner essentially saves the images onto a sdcard. I figured my phone would mount the disk like a USB drive. Unfortunately, I was wrong!

I really dont think it's hard bricked though, have you swapped out the battery? And when you plug it into the computer is just not being recognized? A hard bricked phone will still show something.

Battery Problems

I really don't know what's causing this but I've had a weird battery issue. For some reason it won't charge. I charged it and the battery only kept going down. I rebooted and the same thing happened. I flashed the rom again but this time it shows the charging status for a second and just stops the next :/ Is this a hardware issue? I was on DJL's Cm10 rom when it happened and I haven't tinkered with it or anything.

@CaffineGiant Batteries are cheap (compared to getting a new phone). Go get one, give it a shot. If it works, great, problem solved. If not, lets come back to this thread and get some more info about your phone.

[Q] My phone went dead and won't charge?

Last night I put my phone on the charger and fired up a TWRP backup. This morning I wasn't able to boot it. Tries two different chargers and it is a brick, The charging light won't come on at all. It's not the chargers, I have tested them with my nexus 5....
It's been on the charger for hours with no pulse. Need paddles...
Rooted but stock CM11s. Any suggestions how to get it back to life appreciated.
Have you tried connecting it to your PC? If so, what does it show up as in Device Manager?

When I connect, there's no power in the phone at all so USB port never acknowledges connection.
Did you try plugging it in (ensure its really plugged in) and holding the device power button for a good 10-15 seconds? I know its a silly thing to ask.

I have the EXACT same problem.
I went to enter a wifi network password and settings kept crashing, so restored from a TWRP backup... and the boot up animation was just ongoing, over and over. (3 hours) - Now, when I plug it in occasionally, I get an error saying it can't start up.. please charge first. (But it doesn't charge and I get nothing).

That sounds like the same problem for sure. Phones been on the charger all night but it's dead. I have not heard from one plus support yet.

I've got an idea for you (It worked for me - but I must admit... I was drunk and didnt think things through) if you still have % you might be in luck.
Go into TWRP, and format Data only. Then once it boots... Hold Power and volume up, so it resets... and hold power till its completely turned off, then plug it into mains. (This charged for me - but as I say, I tried to just restore again and got the stupid logo by whih point my battery was at the point of no return) - Still faulty if you ask me though.

that title 10% => 10%+ mean charging.

i did recovery charge test just now, the PhilZ Touch 6.55.0 one in adb shell:
