Hi folks,
Just a quick question for you. What is the turnaround on repair sent back to HTC in Milton Keynes?
My Touch pro was a bit temperamental with MicroSD cards. It would have no issues with 2 and 4 GB cards but would only read some 8 GB cards some of the time and others it wouldnt read at all.
I sent the phone away and I have been following its progress via http://tracking.htc.com . It spent 1 whole week in "Diagnostics", another whole week in "Hold For Engineering" and it has now been a couple of days "In Repair". Is this a normal length of time for a repair to take?
Thanks for the help,
Craig
I've bee waiting since 22nd July... The status changed the day they received thereafter didn't change until 10 days later...
During this time I'd e-mailed and phoned as you do. Just told that it's waiting on parts... Then I got this email
"I have read through your email and can offer some you some positive news -
Looking through the engineers notes -
05/08/2011 16:45:19 Job moved to Parts Fitting
05/08/2011 16:46:02 Replaced LCM (LCD)
05/08/2011 16:46:07 Repaired PASS
05/08/2011 16:46:07 Job moved to QA (This means its in testing, it has been repaired, and is having a final check-up)
In short, this device will be back with you very, very soon. Testing takes a day or so, and then its released to the courier."
Check out those times.. Makes me wonder just what the hell they did with the 10 days...
They walked around the warehouse and looked at things.
The whole time....
I guarantee it.
It looks like the system was updated all at once after the repairs had been finished. Who knows.
It limits you to 4 options, Powerpoint, Internet, Youtube.. and something I forget.
But can we get it to display anything we want?
Btw it's so cool.
Oh well that's a bit useless then...if I can't use CorePlayer what's the point?
Let me plug it in real quick.
Ok I figured it out.
Ok first off - the jack you plug the phone into has a place to charge your phone. That's a nice feature.
Ok, you plug it in, the phone displays on your TV Beautifully. It gives four buttons.
Powerpoint
Photos and Videos
Internet
Youtube
The only soft button is "Close".
You press Close, it goes to your default Touchflo screen - the one when you open the keyboard. Touchflo 2D I think? Well I'm gonna go explore some more.
Edit: I opened Diamond Hologram and it froze. It just came here actually. Diamon Hologram displays vertically, but the phone is locked horizontally, so it looks very strange. So be careful opening programs that can't tilt. I don't have G-Sensor on but I bet it'd help.
No cable here. I ordered Oct 10 from Expansys and have been continually misled about stock and delivery. Now they say that due to an error, they shipped others ahead of mine and are again out of stock... maybe sometime in January. Is there ANY other supplier? I'm tired of the BS.

This guy has about 10 left on e-bay. He says he ships to the EU, but he may ship elsewhere if asked. I ordered one off him 4 days ago and it arrived today. Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HTC-Touch-Pro...14&_trkparms=72:1301|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318

Live and learn. I have probably invested over an hour of my time writing emails and calling about what should have been a 1 minute click and purchase item. I'm done. I'll call one more time today and to cancel the order.
I have TV-Out cable for almost a month and it works perfect, I can play Coreplayer (movies) and anything else (photo album or whatever you like) what is on screen of your TP will be on the TV also)

Don't believe their website on availability. When I ordered one a few days ago, it showed nearly 400 in stock. Then I get an e-mail saying it won't ship until mid to late December. They also offered to substitute one of their own cables, which does not charge.

This was not just their website, also via email and voice. I just sent them an email cancelling my order. I really don't want to deal with them.
Another unhappy customer that ordered a tv cable a Nov 10th from expansys and hasnt received it yet.

F$%^CK The [email protected]@rds!!!!
excuse my french :]
I have exactly the same experience with them!!
I wanted to do a safe internet buy, so i thought it would be wise to buy some phone stuff at the official HTC shop.
Arriving at the payment i suddenly noticed the name Expansys popping up, since the delivery would only take 3 days, i didnt care so much about it. Afterall i was redirected from the HTC shop. End of the story: the delivery wasnt 3 days but 3 full months!!!!And the people at the Dutch Expansys shop didnt care about a thing
i will never never never buy something from those criminals again...
At least their webpage says out of stock now and Jan. delivery on the tv cables. I bet they have has alot of irate calls the last few weeks from customers. HTC really needs to find a better partner to do business with for their accessoires.
Anyone know where to get one in the US???????

For what it's worth, I ordered mine thru expansys on Saturday, and it just got delivered to my house today via Fedex.
Looking forward to trying it out when I get home! Toys! I love toys!!
Edit: I see they have the HTC Touch Pro TV Out Cable AC T110 backordered. I ordered an item called "HTC Raphael TV Out Cable AC T110", and that shipped immediately.
Comet now have these in stock for dispatch, i just ordered mine for tomorrow and have received a confirmation of delivery email (if that means anything)
Fingers crossed here's hoping

Thanks for the pointer I've ordered one too but I'm not over-confident I will have a TF in my hot hands by Friday somehow. It seems odd that neither Ebuyer or Amazon for example have stocks, and I seem to recall Comet as being optimistic regarding stocks of the (minus dock) TF's too.
Actually reading all the tales of woe re screen bleed, troublesome docks etc, I wonder if I've made a wise decision but life's too short and I've taken a chance
Comet can have these bundles within 2 weeks. Thanks to a contact in comet

Think positive!
I emailed them yesterday with that same question 'how come you get yours in stock and amazon say june 1st'? They emailed me back this morning saying they were due in today so i've been watching the website all morning waiting for it to be updated, when i saw it i rang them to confirm and gave them my details, they then rang back to confirm delivery tomorrow by parcel force for which i paid an extra £5.60
If they don't turn up a local store is going to get a brick through it's window

I went into my local store Saturday and the guy checked stock at the CDC which said delivery due 10th. I went in after work today and it was right they got them ready to be sent out so ordered one for in-store collection and picking it up Friday if you don't want to order online go in and do what I did. I only paid £399 as I took out the extra care so did me a deal so all in I only actually paid £485 with the service plan as I got 10% off buying vouchers through my work I'm a happy boy lol
Just ordered the bundle as well. I hope the keyboard will come with the US layout like on the pictures and not the UK layout.
Due in on Friday!
I received my Transformer from Comet yesterday, when I ordered it on Monday they told me they had 78 in stock.

I did, i bought one a month ago when they first became available, but no scrollable widgets or browsers worked so i sold it again, (paid £375 sold for £440)
My new one with keyboard arrived today, so no bricks will be thrown, (at least not at comet)

I ordered my bundle on the 4th April and Comet have had my money since then. To hear that someone who ordered YESTERDAY received theirs instantly is just infuriating.
I'm off to Comet after work. F****** ridiculous.

When i had mine a month ago all i had was the slate, they didn't get any stock of keyboards until yesterday and i was straight on the phone.
Just ring up the service centre direct 0844 800 95 95, all a store will do is give you some BS about availability
The keyboard is awesome, increases productivy a 1000 percent, the keys have a really good feel, and the touchpad is very fast, haven't worked out how to adjust speed.
Been using it for about five hours with general use, setting up ADW EX, a bit of youtube, web browsing, emails, and it's only gone down 15 percent!
Well indeed I should have had more faith my order arrived this morning as promised Must admit I was surprised when just one box arrived as I've always seen the pad and dock in two separate boxes but sure enough they were both inside.
No juice at all in the pad though some in the dock just a quick look and no sign of back-light bleed (with the start-up dark background).
Must say I love the look of the TF and dock, feels solid and well made
Damn the long initial charge time I want to play with my new toy
Took delivery of mine today from Comet, plugged in an power on BAM! Screen bleed!! All edges are corners, pretty bad. Went to my local store to return and refund and they have awful customer service. They treated me as if I was lying "oh I dont see a problem", well its not you who purchased it?
Anyway got a refund in the end. Having now had 2 faulty Asus transformers and 7 faulty iPads I think its time I walk away from tablets.....
I now have my bundle in hand after picking it up from Comet and its amazing can't believe how small the box was with both in I had to ask if both were there lol I also picked up a nice bag for it which I'm happy about.

Are you in the UK at the moment? I'm currently in the US and will have my keyboard delivered next Wednesday (US Layout)...I then return to the UK on Saturday. Would you be interested in a swap? I'm not overly bothered about having a US keyboard but a UK layout would be a bonus.
Ordered one from comet to arrive today....
Didn't arrive... Comets customer support leaves alot to be desired for... such as support

Hey all there,
do you have any experiece with this spare part distributor?
I need a spare part for my HTC Sensation but I'm not sure if this shop ist worth my money.
So what do you think?
I recently bought some small tools ans sticker and course I will share my experience here.
*bump*
Yesterday I asked for a invoice copy for ustoms duty purpose.
Today I got it. So customer service seems to be ok.
I was looking at these guys for a replacement speaker on my evolution 3d .
I was wondering if there has been an update on your order?
I can report, that my package arrived well covered and with the ordered pieces.
The stickers are ok, well what shouldt they do wrong?
The tools look cheap, I think.
So I'm still not sure to order there. And 40€ is a lot of money for me, because I'm still on-the-job training. If loosing the money wouldn't hurt so much, I wouldt definitely give them a try.
I'll give an update when I've made a decision.
As far as I know, they're the most reputable...the guys off Ebay for example will give you rear housing but part wasn't cut to exact dimensions...or missing something very minor but meaning whole part cannot be used...
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
I decided not to order there.
I ordered on a trader from Great Britain for a much cheaper price. Hope the LCD is no fake.
Update:
It looks not like a fake, but i haven't had time to reassable my phone yet.
I've bought a number of spare parts for my i9100 and N7100 there, and all I can say about them is praise.
The delivery time seems a bit on the long side (took about 10 days for delivery to France each time), but customer service is excellent and the prices are the lowest I been able to find anywhere on the market...
As far as I'm concerned it's a go, you can order from them anytime, even blindfolded...

Granted, the 3$ toolkit for Samsung devices I bought there looks equally cheap. But it still accomplishes the job more than is needed.
Also, keep in mind that such toolkits are most often made by device manufacturers themselves, parts4repair.com has nothing to do with this whatsoever (save that they're reselling them for a -small- profit, obviously ).

Any examples for other better places?
Just ordered a camera for my i9100 from them and it came with a big scratch that appears big and pink on all my photo's .
Bought a HTC Sensation volume buttons flex cable and a set of screws and came as expected. The volume buttons had an issue and I asked them for a replacement via email, which they answered and sent a new one for free. Happy with them.
Got scammed
Ordered a housing assembly for htc desire hd and three batteries. The cover assembly had two parts which were used and had worn out contact surfaces. The batteries run out of life really fast (as fast a 2 year old battery and some even faster), they have been marked as e.g. "LQ" and using a battery tester app they give results varying between 800-1100mah for the dhd battery that should be 1230mah.
They've answered to emails with varying delay of 4-7 days, but to my latest email i haven't gotten a reply, when i asked them to send me instructions to return the package. They seem to be purposely delaying the case by asking silly questions i've already given them an aswer to. It's been almost a month and a half since my first email to them.
Going to report them to my credit card company so they will take it from here.
I bought a Full Housing Cover and a Complete Screen Assembly with Bezel for my Galaxy S II i9100, and they were out of stock. Waited for two weeks and they were still out of stock. Asked for a refund 4 days ago and they haven't replied yet or issued the refund. I'm glad I paid with paypal. If by the end of the week they still haven't issued a refund, I'm going to report them.
EDIT: They issued a full refund to my paypal today.

I bought a full housing form Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 and 2 cover camera lens on 4/11/2013.
Products are handed over to carrier on 7/11/2013 (SingaporePosts...very good assistance and fast answer: vote 5 stars!!!) and it shipped on 12/11/2013 by naval ship (very bad!!!).
Shipping arrives in Italy (to Milan) on 04/12/2013 ( 1 month) but the product is been blocked to Italian mail customs up to 21/12/2013 for controls because it was declared as "fashion accessory" for a value of €1.
I was almost certain that the product would be blocked, but unexpectedly, it is unlocked on 12/27/2013 and delivered today 23/12/013.
With much surprise I enjoyed an excellent packaging and protection product.
Overall I'm pretty pleased with parts4repair.com even if I wrote them all history and I said them that I don't buy no more from them just because delivery times are too long.
I would add that every time I contacted parts4repair for a problem about shipment, they answered me immediately, in 24 hours to my email
Be warned!!!!
Before ordering a replacement screen for my TF700 I checked for positive or negative experiences with Parts4Repair.com here on XDA. Only found this thread and decided to try it.
I ordered a V02 of the screen for $ 97,90 including shipping on 24/08/13 and received an incompatible version V01 on 10/09/13. After sending an email the same day I received an email asking me to return the screen back to them. (needed to return it to China for $ 13,- without tracking, which I found expensive enough). Four days later I receive an automatically generated email where they state that the purchase is refunded through PayPal.
On 25/10/13 they confirm reception of the screen and confirm (again) to refund (as they didn't have the V02 screen!).
As of yet (08/01/14) I haven't received a refund.
So Parts4Repair.com first sends a wrong item, then doesn't have the ordered item at all, confirms twice to refund and in the end doesn't do anything.
PayPal wasn't any help either because they requested a tracking number, after I had already send it back and they refuse to look at the emails confirming the return of the screen.
Just to add my voice. Ordered a chip for my sammy October / November... One month - nothing... started chasing and they said it had been sent... oddly the tracking date it was sent was when I complained.... Too late to place a Paypal complaint in.
Any way - eventually got it on the phone and found it was DOA - was sold tested. Not only that the the BGA balls where not great.
I've had the chip pulled off again and now have an RMA ( although no postal address Ahhhhh ) so dependant on postage I'll send it back.
What worries me is if I send it will I actually get a refund or fobbed off ? I wasnt cheap but for piece of mind I may just....
Over all...
Comms 2/10
Speed 1/10
Quality of Product 1/10
I would love to know about other suppliers as others have asked for items like chips....

The 18th of June I ordered 2 new glass for my Samsung galaxy tab pro 8.4 and payed $70 for the glass and $40 for DHL shipping I got my packaged the 23rd of June so fast delivery.
But what I got was not what I ordered so I mailed them they denied first that they had done anything wrong, so I took some pictures of the wrong glass laying beside the right one, then they admitted they sent wrong item, and now the hell started.
I wanted them to send the right items, and then I could maybe send the wrong ones back after all it was only $70 in sell value,
they denied that said I had to send back first and when they got the items they should send me my ordered items.
I gave in and sent their items back for $26 it took about a month for them to get the items, now when they shall send me my items they say they only have white ones,
I ordered 1 black and 1 white, I said it was OK to send 2 white instead and I asked how they would refund me the shipping cost I had when returning their items, then they say that if I want refund they will send the items with snail post.
Now I starting to get really pissed what was started as something I thought was cheap, ended up quite expensive and I have still not seen what I ordered.
SO ALL I CAN SAY, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Could you please post a picture of that cracked screen ?
cant post a picture as ive not got another camera, it would be hard to take a picture of it anyway, it is a crack right across the phone ;(
It's not just the screen but also the Gorilla glass you have broken ( Correct me if I am wrong ) so according to me you should go to Moto's service center as only they can replace your screen.

Great that you got it sorted. I dropped my Moto G from a small height today and the LCD has completely bled, I can just about use the phone. Annoyingly, not a single cosmetic scratch! Kind of surprised it got damaged so easily. Just to clarify, you weren't insured? I'm thinking of going down the route you've outline in order to get this sorted. Did you just email motorola and they commissioned the repair through SBE? Any details you could give of your process that might help me receive a free replacement too would be massively appreciated :good:
Mail them here, i have come to this conclusion.
Also buy a case, i will be now lol - I thought it was gorrilla glass.

Sent it off to the service centre today, fingers crossed! I know, guess the G is a little more fragile than we thought - definitely buying a case if they send me a new one.

I just rang up and explained the damage, they then emailed me the details regarding repair. The address for the the service centre is the same one used by the OP, SBE LTD, so I'm feeling hopeful. I'll keep you update with how it pans out :good:
Just emailed them and got a response telling me to phone a american number and that it would be $125, Hoping the wires have been crossed somewhere as this is no good in the UK!

Nah that's not correct. Here's the email I received when I asked about repair:
hank you for contacting Motorola.
We are sorry that you have been experiencing a fault with your Motorola phone and due to this we would like to suggest that you send your phone to our repair centre. The address for our repair centre, for our UK based customers, is:
SBE (UK) LTD
Unit 2A Motorola Repair Centre
Beaver Industrial Estate
Beaver Road
Ashford, Kent
TN23 7SH
When sending your phone to our repair centre we would recommend that you follow the guidelines below:
• That the phone is protected and cushioned within its packaging and sent for repair using a jiffy bag.
• That you ask for proof of postage at the Post Office.
• That your phone is insured against loss and damage.
• That when posting to us that you use a service that has track and trace.
In addition to the recommendations above we would also request that you:
• Keep a note of the IMEI number of your phone (this can be found on the back of the phone under the battery, the side of the box, or by dialing *#06# on the main screen of your handset).
• Please do not send any accessories with your phone including the battery, memory card, sim card, charger, back cover, original box etc with your phone. If any accessories are required then we will request this from you but please note that the repair centre may not return any unnecessary items.
• Please do backup any contacts, pictures, games and ring tones as there is a high risk during repair that these will be lost during the repair process
Lastly we would also request that you include a note with your phone with the information:
• A description of the fault
• Your name, return address and a daytime telephone number
• The reference number provided by Motorola which can also be found at the top of this email
• A copy of your proof of purchase (not the original)
Motorola will repair and return your phone free of charge under the warranty conditions. If in the event that your phone is found to be out of warranty by the repair centre then please be advised that a quotation and handling charge may be applied. Any damage caused by using unauthorised operating systems, tampering or altering the device firmware will void your warranty and you may be charged for repair.
You can expect the phone to be repaired within 10 working days from its arrival at our repair centre but please allow additional days for postage. Please also note that Motorola do not accept claims for losses incurred by customers not following the process detailed in this message.
If you wish to track your repair then please visit: http://extranet.sbe-ltd.co.uk using your IMEI number from your phone.
We fully appreciate the inconvenience that this has caused and we hope to resolve this for you.
For any further assistance or information please do not hesitate to contact us, quoting your Customer Reference number. We are reachable on 0870 901 0555 to discuss the matter further with one of our experienced customer service agents. Please contact us anytime between the hours of 8:30am and 6pm Monday to Friday and Saturday 8am to 2pm.

Motorola Mobility
UPDATE
Just got a knock at the door from the postman with a white box containing my Moto G with a brand new screen replaced under warranty free of charge! This is despite my device having an unlocked bootloader. I'd urge anyone who is hesitant (as I was) to send off their damaged Moto G. Despite the poor reviews all over the net, it seems SBE are offering a quality repair service. :good:
