Note: Forgive me if this is in the wrong, or already covered. I searched, couldn't find anything to help with my direct problem.
I'm running 'unofficial' CM10 on my Atrix 2. While browsing themes, my sister and I found a theme that she absolutely loves. Seriously. She asked me to root/rom her phone [AT&T Huawei Fusion 2 U8665] just for that THEME.
Well, that's a CM10/CM10.1 theme..So, I scoured the net untill I found THIS. I followed the directions to a T. It works, the phone/rom is up and running..I thought it wouldn't work, but it did.
Then I get said theme installed into the Theme Chooser, click apply, it tells me it was improperly compiled. The author has notes about this, and tells what to do. No matter what I do it still says the same thing.
I installed/applied a different theme to see if the Theme Chooser just doesn't work for her, every other theme I tried worked fine. So does this have something to do with the 'hdpi/xhdpi' thing?
Is there anything I can do to get this theme working for her? I just spent a few hours researching themeing, and while I would love to just make her one, I don't have the time..not with a one year old running around.
Any ideas? Would very much appreciate it.
Anyone?
Not sure if I should give up...or keep bumping this thread in hope that someday someone will have the knowledge that I seek..

Would anyone be able to port the Android Tips widget from Froyo to 2.1. It must be able to run on 2.1, as the Droid X has the widget and is running 2.1 ...
thanks in advance!
Did you try pushing the apk?
just tried pushing the Protips.apk and Protips.odex to my CM .8t5 install.
Lol, had to reflash my rom as it got stuck booting.
i tried installing the apk on my unrooted incredible with no luck. it looked as if it would install but just gave a generic "not installed" error. I'm guessing some modification of the apk has to be done to get it to work.
FYI, for anyone looking for the apk file, i've upped it here: http://www.grafixpressions.com/droid/Protips.apk
thanks in advance!
Bump for this....
May i ask why you wan't this? i had Froyo but never used it. It would be nice if it said your last message though
sure... i think it looks pretty cool on the home screen, i like the little droid guy. very stupid request (but i hope it's an easy one).
I'm willing to give out some free decals from www.grafixpressions.com for whoever can port this for me.
It's probably something only I would ever want... so gotta give people a reason to do it (unless they just like a challenge!).
one last bump in hopes someone can get this to run on an unrooted phone. I don't think it has anything to do with Eclair to Froyo...the app allows you to try to install it, but fails.
still looking for someone to help a guy out with this request!
Also curious if someone would be able to port the 2.2 Google Search widget as well...
thanks!
This does seem like a great idea. Good luck with it
why do u want it?
it shows 6 useless tips every android user knows
i already answered the question in the thread...
$25 worth of free decals from www.grafixpressions.com to the person who will port me those two widgets (Android Tips & Google search) from Froyo to 2.1
I tried installing the widget on my unrooted 2.2 evo, and it wouldn't install...strange. if anyone gets it working please do tell!
Im confused, why are u guys getting errors ? i took the apk from cm6 nexus and it installs / runs fine.
This one should work. Its from the X so you will see it giving you tips for the X launcher. Resigned.
Ack! You beat me to it! Thats what I get for double-checking it worked first when I knew it already would! I left the thread open while I was checking so I didnt see your post. You kick ass btw!
So as we all love the roms in this forum I stumble upon this rom set. I would like to see these ported to our Dinc phones as I think the themes absolutely kick ass. I like them both however I would love to see the Bluetopia ported. Here is the link to check out what I am talking about. I fsomeone can do this a considerable donation would be coming from myself. Although I am sure donations would come from many on this one.

Porting the rom would be ridiculous, especially considering some of it is broken and would be too much work making it functional for the incredible. If it is just the theme you want, that's easy to pull, but I'm downloading it right now to take a look at it.
That is correct. I would like that theme. but I would like to see it cooked into a rom you know. Please let me kow once you have looked at it. Cheers...

Whether it is just ported over as a theme to be flashed/metamorphed or its "cooked" into a rom, it is the same. a flashable theme is much more convenient, since you are only replacing files in your current system, as opposed to wiping and starting over just to gain different aesthetics in the same exact rom, and having to go through the annoying process of setting back up again for basically nothing. Right now, I am about to try it on SR 3.3.3 and see how it goes, then in Desire Z rom. If all goes well, I'll post it in the themes section and let you know, otherwise I will post failure here and let you know if it isn't working lol.
Well for the most part, in SR 3.3.3 it seemed to work. Everything functioned and almost all of the theme elements were there. But it was definitely incomplete. For one, most incredible roms incorporate smooth sense icons. The theme does not have this since it is from the desire, so that creates an issue because only 5 of the 100 battery icons were themed lol. same with the sync icon. For some reason the signal bars did not change even though I ported the com.htc.resources also. I think a couple system apps did not theme (People app for sure, not sure what others) and the dockbar was espresso style but did not have the themes color. I'm sure there were other missing elements but as it stands, this will become too much work for me to correct, especially since more people will want it on different roms, which means porting and troubleshooting those as well.
Thanks for your attempt. If I may ask one request can you please post the Expresso bar and lockscreen with the black clock in an update.zip form. Those are the 3 elements that i would really like to have. I appreciate it once again.
Cheers,
Shokouhi
Rubix focused 1.9.7 is my first rom and I love it. It is working beautifully so I plan to stay on it for awhile. I would like to try some themes. I have found themes on the forums for 1.9. 5. Are they compatible with 1.9.7 or must I wait for updates? I have searched many threads with no answer, sorry if I am repeating and thanks for any info!

Check out Crystal X by Bignadad, it is one of the most thorough themes you will find... I have been testing this for him for a while, and it is quite a theme if I do say so myself...

Rubix 1.9.7 themes
Thanks! - the blue is definitely on the possible list. I'm also waiting to found out if any of the ones for 1.9. 5. Are compatible. I like to do my research first because flashing still makes me nervous. I've only done it once and I had a few detours on the way. I have all my backups but rather not use them
goto Droidforums.net and search for wugs theme port. Its a program you can download thats super easy to use that will port any theme to any rom, well almost. I used it to port Pink Life to 1.9.7 for my girlfriends X and she hasn't had any instability issues so far. This really is a good rom imho. If it was my phone I'd try em all but shes happy with it and thats what she'll be staying at.
If you have any issues just shoot me a pm with a link to the theme you want ported and I can do it for you!
Rubix 1.9.7 themes
I'm completely new to rooting /romming. I am now on my first rom rubix 1.9. 7 and am likely to stay on it for awhile. It runs well and flashing still makes me nervous. I would like to theme and I understand @the porter but for the first time I would like one that is directly compatible with the rom. I have seen a few I like that are compatible for 1.9. 5 but not many listed for 1.9. 7. Are the ones for the earlier version of rubix oK for the 1.9. 7? I can't seem to find the answer to that through browsing the theme threads or on threads @Rubix. Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the generous offer- I'm new to the forums and the people are helpful! I downloaded the porter and I'm sure I will try it since I've seen non Rubix themes that I've liked. Because this whole thing is new to me I think I'd like to try a compatible theme for my first try. Then I think I'll feel easier about the whole thing. Honestly, when I bought the phone 2 months ago I NEVER I would of even dared to root my phone. Of course I had no idea what rooting was!LOL! Who knows 2 months from now I might be changing roms and themes regularly!
Thanks again for the offer and I might take you up on the help soon.
I am wondering if the UOT theming kitchen will work with: #1: Jellybean and #2: The Tf300t.. I see from the website that they advertise Froyo and Gingerbread (which are ANCIENT) but not ICS or Jellybean. I would also like to know if it is possible to get either a theme chooser or kitchen that works with this device set at 160 DPI US with CleanROM 3.2.1.
I've been doing Google searches for an hour, I saw a similar thread, but the suggestion was UOT., which leaves me at this question.
I'm a newbie, I know, but honestly you never know until you ask.
Thanks guys.

Change the battery icon, the time font, the UI colors, the bottom menu button, things that can not be changed by launchers.
I am familiar with Magic Locker, Apex Launcher, just posting those to say that's what I know how to do. I have an orange keyboard and want the navigation buttons and system time to match. Things that you would have to edit the framework to do, but I'm more of a GUI guy, I can't see very well with or without glasses so my coding days are numbered.
Thanks for the swift reply.

That's a bummer. I have absolutely no idea how Jellybean works. Honestly the TF300T Jellybean is my first encounter with the new OS. I was stoked to even be able to try (let alone afford) a phone with ICS (LG Motion) From more research, I found material stating that CyanogenMod 10 has a theme chooser, but I can't find a stable nightly, got soft bricked a couple of times. If there is a theme chooser than I could probably find some Jellybean themes out there that work for the tablet.
And...how rude of me. I forgot to mention that I haven't really posted anything since I've had this account. Tsk tsk, where are my manners?

That wasnt rude of you? lol.
But yeah, i have the galaxy S2 and Galaxy S3 (HD2 was my first experience with ICS) and all those devices are themable very easily. This tablet is the most annoying device ive owned that doesnt wanna cooperate when i change something lol.
And yes, CM10 is the best for customization. Even if you cant decompile something and change it, there is always source code to change
Theme chooser is the freaking ****. Just sayin wish all ROMs had this

This is my first post so let me know if in the wrong forum. Couldnt post in the MagioRom theme post cause I haven't had 10 posts. I Found some really good themes that work with MagioRom 3.6.1. Keyboard isnt sized properly (Swiftkey fixed this though) and HEQS isnt sized properly. Everything else looks great. Does anyone know of some other themes that may work? the themes I have been "toying" around with are by Timberwolf671 and found them in the Sprint One android development section, Blue and Jazz theme. They look really good. Wish I had the skill to resize the HEQS. Can anyone point me in the right direction to try and learn? Thanks...
Edit I flashed the "mini" themes
Another thing... I have been using MagioRom for a while now and never got a voicemail notification. As soon as I flashed this it started giving me voicemail notifications.
Check out the screenshots below
Found these themes too. Haven't tried them yet I'm still using AOKP. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2360865

Those look nice.
Not trying to be a d**k but try searching google. Im sure there are some help forums out there for that.
Nice job, bro that look good
I went ahead and tested a couple of those on magios ROM, the keyboard themes didn't seem to do anything and the dialer themes cometely removed the dialer part of the phone app. I only tried one of the clock/dock themes and it worked but scrolling back and forth between blink feed and your home screens makes the dock a little buggy not a lot but enough to ruin it for me maybe I did something wrong and somebody else can get it to work I don't know. I flashed with twrp.
