Sorry if this is the wrong thread.

Basically, my idea is if you have a pattern lock or password lock, you can put the pattern or password backwards and it will automatically enable guest mode.
This is useful for people lending their phone to someone and wanting their information hidden/private.
Another idea I have regarding this would be instead of doing the reverse of a password or pattern, you designate a specific pattern or password (i.e. 0000) to hop in to guest mode.

i installed a new rom for my fuze recently and the phone lock thing on startup disappeared. how do i set/change the password and make my phone ask for it on startup only?
It's not clear what you are asking for .
If you are talking about the PIN code when the phone is powered up you must do the following:
Press Start-Settings-Personal-Phone-Security & select ''Require PIN when phone is used''.-
no, that will still let me use the phone. i don't want to lock the sim but the phone. using that method will only block my network.
before i installed the new rom it would ask for a password before i can use the phone only after starting it. and if i entered the password wrong 3 times it would ask me to enter a1b2c3 or w/e instead of blocking the network.
I don't know the program you are talking for but I have some alternatives .
If you are using WM6.5 with lockscreen you can try SmartLock which have boot lock.
A good suggestion whatever WM you are using is ThrottleLock.
Also take a look at S2U2 but I am not sure if it supports boot lock.-
thanks i think i'll use smartlock. i've read comments on throttlelock and s2u2 and there were complaints on throttlelock about having the wrong password and then they had to hardreset or something... and s2u2 is kinda nice but not very useful.
i've used smartlock and it's not exactly what i'm looking for, i wanna set a password for the phone and make it ask for the password only when it's turned on.
Hi,
I donĀ“t even know if this is possible due to security policies, but can anybody knows or can make an app that allows to simply switch between slide and password screen locks?
In other words: Today if I want to set the password I have to type it ...twice. Then when I want to disable the password I need to type it again- Then I can disable the password , but it is not remembered. So if I later want to re-enable the password, well, I have to set a new password and type it twice again.
What I would like is for the password to be remembered internally, and to easily and quickly switch between password and no password.
Not sure if it is even possible to do for rooted phones.
Thanks
Gonzalo
Hi all,
I have a CAT S30, when I set up my Exchange email it forced me to use a password on the device.
After looking through the security settings I can see the device is not encrypted. If I encrypt the device will it allow me to remove the password on the device (I need to enter it every time I unlock the screen and it's bugging me).
If I turn on the encryption will I be able to turn off the forced screen lock security that's currently in place?
thanks,

This is just a question. Is there any way that i can set up a decoy password on my nexus 5 lockscreen? I am rooted and running LineageOS 14.1 and the phone passes SafetyNet, and has internal storage encrypted. Here's an example: your real pin is 13579, but you want a decoy pin (24680). When 13579 (real pin) is entered, the phone will unlock like normal. But, if 24680 (decoy) is entered, then the phone should switch to a different (possibly restricted) user, so that if you are stopped at an airport and your phone is confiscated and the authorities ask for your pin, you can give them the decoy. The switching users should be invisible, so that the authorities don't suspect anything. If they ask about the main user, i can just make up an excuse like "This is my friend's phone, and i am going to visit him. He just added me as a restricted user". Note: i just want to keep my privacy and make sure that my data is safe.
I need a proper guest mode on my phone. Not to pin an app, or allow access to certain features. These still have problems with sensitive information.
Guest or user features allow access like a 'sandbox'. This is what I really want. Someone can then borrow my work phone, and I won't have to worry about anything like download history or contacts, etc.
Can anyone here help me out? Can I force the OS to have a guest mode, like rooting the phone and unlocking a feature?
Xiaomi devices has spaces, i believe. Samsung phone why don't create new user account with different pattern, fingerprint?
