[Q] [REQ] enable/disable password screen lock - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hi,
I don´t even know if this is possible due to security policies, but can anybody knows or can make an app that allows to simply switch between slide and password screen locks?
In other words: Today if I want to set the password I have to type it ...twice. Then when I want to disable the password I need to type it again- Then I can disable the password , but it is not remembered. So if I later want to re-enable the password, well, I have to set a new password and type it twice again.
What I would like is for the password to be remembered internally, and to easily and quickly switch between password and no password.
Not sure if it is even possible to do for rooted phones.
Thanks
Gonzalo

how to enable phone lock on startup?

i installed a new rom for my fuze recently and the phone lock thing on startup disappeared. how do i set/change the password and make my phone ask for it on startup only?
It's not clear what you are asking for .
If you are talking about the PIN code when the phone is powered up you must do the following:
Press Start-Settings-Personal-Phone-Security & select ''Require PIN when phone is used''.-
no, that will still let me use the phone. i don't want to lock the sim but the phone. using that method will only block my network.
before i installed the new rom it would ask for a password before i can use the phone only after starting it. and if i entered the password wrong 3 times it would ask me to enter a1b2c3 or w/e instead of blocking the network.
I don't know the program you are talking for but I have some alternatives .
If you are using WM6.5 with lockscreen you can try SmartLock which have boot lock.
A good suggestion whatever WM you are using is ThrottleLock.
Also take a look at S2U2 but I am not sure if it supports boot lock.-
thanks i think i'll use smartlock. i've read comments on throttlelock and s2u2 and there were complaints on throttlelock about having the wrong password and then they had to hardreset or something... and s2u2 is kinda nice but not very useful.
i've used smartlock and it's not exactly what i'm looking for, i wanna set a password for the phone and make it ask for the password only when it's turned on.

Removing JGUI safe.my.windows.phone

Hi there,
If you have a few questions regarding the safe.my.windows.phone software. Anybody who have used it before please help me out!
1. If I have already set my password, how do I change it?
2. If I want to set a password only for unlocking when I remotely lock it and not for prompting when device is not used, how do I do this? As far as I know, I can only set a password if I tick the check box 'Prompt if device unused for'.
3. Finally, I've finished my trial evaluation of the software and want to uninstall it. However, after uninstallation, my phone is still asking me for the password to unlock my phone whenever the screen is turned on (unfortunately I set to prompt for password every 0 minutes and I can't find the password page to change this). How do I completely remove this?!
I tried re-installing but the page that asks you for the password after the first installation doesn't come up anymore I also then tried uninstalling after re-installating but the asking of the password still comes up everytime I turn on my screen!
Many thanks!
After two weeks of waiting for an email from [email protected] to come back to me, I can only warn everybody here to not install this application! Obviously the program is flawed (doesn't have a place to remove it) and you don't get any support. Don't install, don't buy! ><
Just as I thought a hard reset was around the corner...JGUI replied! Going back to the password settings page is actually very simple. Just go to Settings --> (Personal tab) Lock. From there you can set when to prompt and what password to use.
Still, there is a limitation where if you want the program to lock your phone when the correct SMS comes in, you need to activate this password protection but you can set this to 24hrs rather than 0min like I did.

[Q] Find my phone with password

Hello
In settings you have the option "find my phone".
Is there a solution that you can put a password on it.
Example:
My phone is stolen or lost.
And somebody have my phone he can now go to settings and turn the option "find my phone" off. And I can't find my phone anymore.
If there a password on it, then can't the other person turn it off.
And I can find my phone again.
Is there an app or something else?

You can try using the default lock screen password. Then, if your phone is lost or stolen and someone finds it, forget about him getting in the settings, he would not be able to get pass your lock screen without the password.

Click to collapse
Maybe can someone create that?
Because then you have a second block for that person

Phone unencrypted and forcing me to use a password

Hi all,
I have a CAT S30, when I set up my Exchange email it forced me to use a password on the device.
After looking through the security settings I can see the device is not encrypted. If I encrypt the device will it allow me to remove the password on the device (I need to enter it every time I unlock the screen and it's bugging me).
If I turn on the encryption will I be able to turn off the forced screen lock security that's currently in place?
thanks,

CM13, disabling periodic password request

Dear All,
my phone is periodically requesting password insead to accept the fingerprint (every 2 days?). Because i have a very long passphrase, encrypted device with boot-password this "feature" has 0 benefit for me. As touchsceen typing-hater (this is pure digital paralympics) i really get frustrated when i have to type in this passphrase. Is there any way to get rid of this "feature"? I don't want to switch back to a simple PIN.
If your talking about passphrase on boot, you can disable it by re-setting up you password, and the first thing it asks you is if you want secure boot
Sorry, i though i was writing in english but it seems that it was mandarin. Absolutely not, i mean the unlock password.
? no, it periodically locks the device down for more security. When this happens does it read "password needed for security" or something like that?
Yes, and this is just senseless. I've replaced the A9 by a S7, so doesn't interest anymore.
