[Q] Need app for custom ringtone manager - General Questions and Answers

for different reasons.. mainly work and family... i would like to switch to a master profile that would have one ringtone for everybody... and have secondary profiles where I could set individual ringtones for each contact... or even by 'group' even if its only one contact.
thanks for the suggestions.
example:
Work: all the same ringtone
Play: a default ringtone
person a - ringtone 1
person b - ringtone 2

Cool thanks!!
I've made a small collection of sounds for nearly all my HTC Touch Events including:
Beam: Auto receive, connection established, connection terminated, new sms, new mms, mms sending, mms sent, etc... the list goes on.
I made them using a text-speech demo from:

I also converted them to .mp3 to save on file size. Zipped up you can download them from my site (hope yas like em)

[Q] Custom Vibrations - App?

Hello,
I have the need for a potentially useless app..but I want it none the less.
I recently installed Handcent (SMS program) that allows you to use/create custom vibration patterns for incoming text messages etc etc. I was wondering if anyone knew of an app that could be used to create these patterns? Handcent just requires that the pattern be put into off(ms),on(ms),off(ms),etc etc text string. And I would love for an app to listen to my notification sound (or any sound file I choose) and create the vibration pattern based off the peaks of what is playing.
If an app like this doesn't exist would it be something someone could make easily?
My idea of an ideal app for this would be an app that allows you to choose a song file and it scans it for the peaks. A adjustable slider that changes the sensitivity so that it could be fine tuned for songs with little or too many high peaks. Then the app would just spit out the pauses and vibrations that have been adjusted accordinaly in a simple text string that could then be copied and pasted into Handcent when wanted.
Maybe instead of just searching for the high peaks it could be tuned to search for the lowest frequencies to give the illusion that the phone has a strong speaker with another slider as well.
Right now I currently have a rather funny pattern. My Droid vibrates as if something big is coming towards me (think T-rex stomping) and after 4 steps a roar comes out of the phone. If I had the program who knows what I could come up with
http://www.appbrain.com/app/vibraseq:-the-vibrator-app/com.a_droid.vibraseq
Thats a neet little app...but...
Unfortunatly it is pretty useless for Handcent at the moment as its text string is much different. Also it seems it only allows you to create the pattern yourself, was hoping it could use an MP3 or WAV file.
Thanks for the link though, I might be able to make a quick excel formula that can convert that code into the type needed for handcent.

Own ringtones for contacts / system

Hello I got my p40 pro today and working around the system with no Google services so far love it - one annoying thing I can’t solve normally on an android device (always used Samsung ) I place mp3 ringtones in a folder called ringtone and they show in the ringtone section to add to contacts or phone ringer however not on the huewei any idea how I can get them to show or assign them to a contact ??
On the bottom of each contact you can find "Default - ringtone".
Here you can assign a ringtone for that contact.
Hi there thank you for reply the issue is my own ringtones don’t appear into that list - if I go to select music I find the ringtone however there is no way to select it ......... so I am completely stumped
Go and choose a contact - on the bottom you have default/ringtone - on the top you have music on device - there you must find your ringtones.
You can move the ringtone folder into the Music folder.

S10e Default Ringtone App

I am trying to assign custom ringtones, I accidentally set a default app and don't know how to change/remove it.
Contacts - Name of Person - Edit - View More - Default Ringtone - + (at top right of screen)
It is here that I set the default app (image below), and I can't figure out which app this is.
All I want is to change/remove this default app. I think I chose music, but it has me changing my default messaging app to Next SMS and I don't want to do this.
I have googled and tried many different things but nothing is working (and I don't want to reset all default apps). I restarted my phone which didn't do anything. This is my last solution.
Troy searching for "default apps" in Settings. There you can set the messaging app.
