Own ringtones for contacts / system - Huawei P40 Pro Questions & Answers

Hello I got my p40 pro today and working around the system with no Google services so far love it - one annoying thing I can’t solve normally on an android device (always used Samsung ) I place mp3 ringtones in a folder called ringtone and they show in the ringtone section to add to contacts or phone ringer however not on the huewei any idea how I can get them to show or assign them to a contact ??

On the bottom of each contact you can find "Default - ringtone".
Here you can assign a ringtone for that contact.

Hi there thank you for reply the issue is my own ringtones don’t appear into that list - if I go to select music I find the ringtone however there is no way to select it ......... so I am completely stumped

Go and choose a contact - on the bottom you have default/ringtone - on the top you have music on device - there you must find your ringtones.
You can move the ringtone folder into the Music folder.

[Q] Zune playlist order on WP7

Ok, a question.
Is there a way to move around songs in song list on the phone itself.
I saw that there was an option to make your own playlist on the computer (there
you can freely move the songs around), but is there a way to do this with
the song list on the phone itself?
Something like they did in HTC Hub... (Open HTC Hub->Tap on Time to open
forecast in full screen -> Menu -> Edit Locations -> Hold&Drag the icon on the
right side to change order of weather items).
Up it goes again

OneX and custom notification sounds

How do you use custom notification sounds? I know you can make a song or whatever you ringtone, but I do not see an option of saving it as notification as in new text or email.

Click to collapse
The easiest way that I know of to dot his is to save the file on your internal memory and then use a file explorer to navigate to media/audio. Inside of that folder there will be folders for ringtones, notifications, and alarms ( if they are not present just create them using those exact names). Copy the sound files you want to use into the appropriate folder and they will appear as selections in the sound selection menus of the various applications. If they don't show up right away, just reboot and they will be there.
I have ES File Explorer installed on my EVO 3D and when I tap to select a sound on the personalization screen it asks if I want to use Android System or ES to choose a sound. With ES you'll be able to search for the file in any folder and it'll be added to the list, avoiding data redundancy (having two of the same file) - yeah I care about it, I'm insane.
PS. You'll need to restart your phone without the SD to get the sound removed from the list.

[Q] Missing Ringtones, Alarms..etc from default list

Hi all,
I'm a bit stumped. I'm running AOKP 4.2.2, but I'm having issues with the alarms, ringtones and notifications folder location. I can see all the default files in the /system/media/audio/notifications, ../alarms, ../ringtones location which is good. But they do not display in the alarm or sounds settings when i try to change them. The only one on the Alarm sound list is Scandium (which is an awful sound to wake up to). When i select EX Explorer as the file selector for the Alarm app, I can select one of the sounds in the /system.../ location it displays some randrom numbers instead of the alarm name and the alarm selection does not persist.
So, two questions 1. Is it possible to force the list of sounds to look in a particular folder? and 2. Any thoughts on how i can get around this behavior? Screenshots attached.
Thank you.

Galaxy Note 5- Where Are The System Notification And Ringtones Stored In Lollipop?

Where are the system notification and ringtones stored in Lollipop?
I got a Note 5 (Verizon) yesterday and am trying to locate the system directory where notification and and ringtones are stored..... I'll be danged if the "+" icon disappeared in both notification and ringtone section so I can't add any.....2 different Samsung people playing around in my phone weren't much help....I SHOULD be able to copy a file over and place it in a directory where it would be recognized....but searching for mp3 locates only the files copied over....the horrible news, I've got voice mails for ringtones..apparently smart switcher transferred them over.....I am so annoyed. Can someone have mercy and tell me how to manually install the sounds for both ringtones and notifications.....there is NO OPTION to add in system settings.....as it said earlier, there was a "+" at the bottom right to add new sounds.... I may have chosen "music" to where to add the ringtones.....TIA

S10e Default Ringtone App

I am trying to assign custom ringtones, I accidentally set a default app and don't know how to change/remove it.
Contacts - Name of Person - Edit - View More - Default Ringtone - + (at top right of screen)
It is here that I set the default app (image below), and I can't figure out which app this is.
All I want is to change/remove this default app. I think I chose music, but it has me changing my default messaging app to Next SMS and I don't want to do this.
I have googled and tried many different things but nothing is working (and I don't want to reset all default apps). I restarted my phone which didn't do anything. This is my last solution.
Troy searching for "default apps" in Settings. There you can set the messaging app.
