[Q] AOSP style recent apps/toggles on Sense Rom - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hi everyone,
I'm currently running the Team Nocturnal rom, and I would love to be able to add in the AOSP style recent apps as well as the AOSP toggles if possible. I have found a few versions of this, on our device they are only found in other roms, but on the HTC one x+ they are found as standalone mods. Link is below for them, I have tried installing them, they don't seem to be doing anything. Curious if anyone could help out porting these features to standalone mods, or if Team Nocturnal wouldn't mind adding it into their TN tools. Would be an awesome addition if possible.
Thanks to everyone in advance, and a huge thanks to Team Nocturnal for all their hard work and their amazing rom.

*did a search, couldn't find anything specifically relevant to our device. There is a similar thread open for our device, however no responses. Any help is appreciated*
*edit* not exactly new, but still very awesome.

New? When was it released?

Haha, apparently was released sometime last year. I'm late to the party. Either way, its an amazing rom, paired with the TN tool pack, desensing and whatnot, one of the few sense roms I enjoy.

[REQ] MIUI for Hero??

I saw a post over in the N1 and Droid forums for this ROM developed over in china.
It looks pretty awesome and I was just wondering if there was anyway or anyone working on porting this for us? Yes it looks a little iPhoney but it's still a nice looking ROM.
You can google MIUI to find the original website, but you'll need to translate it to be able to read all of it.
Sorry if someone already posted about this, did a search though and didn't see anything here. Thanks to anyone who helps or replies.
Just did a quick google, and come to find out it's zenulator's (Dunno who did it) rom and he's wanting everyone porting the rom to different androids to put source link and credit on their threads.
Here's the link to his code:
http://code.google.com/p/zen-droid/downloads/list
And here's the link to the post he put up about credit (and a badass vid of the ui!)
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/zenulator/84360-rom-zen-miui-v2-android-2-2-miui.html
And here's the official link *hint* use google chrome to view, so you can just hit translate to read it!!
http://www.miui.com/index.php
also.. read some of the forum. Damn those folks hatin' on us westerners/english folk (on translation anyways)
Dunno if that can be ported yet because 2.2 JUST became stable for our hero, however I can't say it's at all impossible because he has the source posted. I would be interested in seeing this myself.
Would be awesome if it could be ported. It looks nice and smooth. Something like that could perhaps convince me I don't need sense

If we had this a lot of people would be convinced they don't need sense. I've been using the wildfire port as my daily but this ROM has my mouth watering.
I would definately like to have this on my device!
Awesome ROM, hopefully we hear from Zen soon. *hint hint*
Me too I would like this on my device

its not zenulators rom..
"I enjoyed porting MIUI to my droid and sharing it with everyone else."
he ported the rom not created it..
but what i can't understand is, the hero (well android in general) is so much more diverse in what can be done with it, why make it look like an iphone??? i feel like this is a step backwards in developing.. the iphone has done this already.. why do we want to adopt this now?

Personally, I love it. I love the way the iphone look also. I just don't like the functionality of the iphone. But the cartoonish look of it can be pleasing.

Just because the main framework of the rom is similar to iPhone looks, doesn't mean it can't be themed. We want it based on functionality and speed, not looks.

Hmm, this is true. We could just get the port, and then theme it like Sense if we wanted... how badass would that be?
Miui is built for hdpi devices. You will have to build it from source and modify it for mdpi.
There is no reason this can't be done. Since its essentially a heavily modified aosp 2.2.
It runs great on my MOTO droid.
I just don't have the time to make it work on the hero.
Also its rumored cyanogen and crew is working on incorporating some of the features into cyanogenmod.

You are one lucky man to be running this.
I'd like to see Cyanogen use as much of Miui's features as he possibly can.

ROM wishlist

the Mytouch 4g development crew is growing at a huge rate, and while I'm obviously happy about that, I've found that all of the new ones create ROMS based off of Cyanogenmod or AOSP ROMS. That's great! It's a wonderful starting point, but we have now gathered an extent of probably more than 5-6 AOSP ROMS that are mostly identical. So I made this thread so people can list the things they want in ROMs so developers can look at this and see what people want and will use. I'll make a list that is divided in to sections such as add-ons, ports, and anything else you'd like for me to add.
In addition, I will add links to all items on the list that are released.
Suggestions:
Device Ports:
- Droid Charge
- Dell Streak
- Sony Ericsson Device
System Ports:
- WORKING Motoblur
- Touchwiz
Add-ons:
-Easily implemented CRT screen-off animation for any ROM
-Sense items (Like contacts, dialer, and camera) working in AOSP ROMS like CM7
Developers! Here's your chance to make something unique that people want! We're counting on you!
Reserved in case this thread is actually successful.
A Motoblur Port is out already, but half of its ass is missing... TouchWiz, in your dreams maybe... Droid Charge Port would be nice. How about a Dell Streak port?
Also a Sony xperia port would be nice
I've also been looking for a fast stock aosp themed froyo Rom....haven't been successful so far ....

Alright, I've added some of the more supported ideas. I don't think I'll add them to the OP unless more than one person wants it. But once again, does anyone know of a way to have a poll in the OP?
Dell streak FTW!
I would like to see a Honeycomb themed sense 3.0/2.1 hybrid rom.....and working yahoo video..
Speaking of ROMS....if I understand AOSP correctly it is supposed to be 100% stock Android so how is there so many copies?...seems to me there should just be themes not ROM after ROM?
I would love to see Devs complete a ROM (finish all the bugs before moving on....reminds me a lot of Samsung...they spit out phones so fast they suck at support or updating)...no offense to all the work here but there is how many ROMS that are "oh so close" left for dead out there...
The liquid ROM looks pretty hot too....

ROM Manager premium - any difference from free?

Hey guys,
First time poster, great site btw ;-)
Just upgraded ROM manager to premium after my first couple of times flashing ROM's has pretty much got me hooked now.
Strange thing is there are no premium ROM's. Is this norm for Desire S?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
Unlike many other phones which have hundreds (nay on thousands) of ROMs (some good, most not so good), the Desire S community seems to adopt the "I'd rather have a choice of about a dozen properly refined ROMs, some with Sense, some without" philosophy!
The crux is that we end up with a nice small selection of really well-built ROMs (compared to most other phones)... elliminating the hell of constantly tripping up on bugs found in many other ROMs.
Thanks for the speedy reply.
That makes sense in away, thanks for clearing it up some. More might make there way on it as time goes by.
I want to try out the cyan 7.1 but looks like ill have to try another way ;-)

IN which case you find this [INDEX][12 SEP 11] ROMS/RECOVERY/ROOT/HBOOT/RADIOS/etc of use.
Only LBC , Virtuous Unity and MIUI ROMS are in ROM manager.

Guy this question has been asked a thousand times with a thousand different answers. There is no top or stable ROM, they are ALL GREAT. Only what you feel best using and your needs of it. Try a few on for size and see what works for you and feels best for you. Coredroid for a stock look or absolution 3.7 for a no sense. But then these are my favorites but watch how many more responses you get till you get closed.

Look, I use my phone as a work phone (so I need an amount of stability), and I find aospx AR28 stable enough for a daily (that said, AR26 saw fewer freezes and reboots, food for though).
However, if you need camcorder, aospx (any ICS?) isn't for you.

Well lets start with congrats man on getting an Inspire. The Inspire community is awesome and there is a constant flow of great work being done by the amazing devs here. First, please search. I don't mean to come off as a jerk but it is part of the rules you agreed to when you signed up and literally if you searched "best rom" or "stable rom" you would most likely see what we have all been telling you and that is: There is no best stable ROM. Every ROM has its issues. What one person swears by another person won't. Only you know what you're willing to live with and live without. Try some ROMs out and see what works best. Here are my recommendations but they are by no means an all inclusive list of "best ROMs", just my personal preference.
Sense 3.5 = Bindroid
Basically stock = Cleardroid
AOSP/CM = Absolution
ICS = Redemption or Melchizedek
if i could stay on one rom long enough to find out if it's stable or not would be a great thing. stupid ROM A.D.D.

Don't forget cyanogen7.2 (newest release) for a wide variaty of customization.
Like others said before there are tons of roms in the developer section of the xda/inspire4g.
Welcome to the freedom of android. The best thing about rooting is the personalization. You can find just about any theme, os, app, or widget you can imagine.
Start with the ace hack kit, read the effin manual (that's what its called) do some reading on the available roms, download from the site or open up rom manager (if available) flash from rom manager.
Which ever rom you choose remember read the first post on the dev thread back and forth up and down. Once you do that...... read it again. All the important info you need for that rom is in the first post.
If you have questions on terms or what something is. Just Google said something followed by xda htc inspire 4g and you should find exactly what your looking for.
Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Sorry guys been under the weather for a few days. Still trying to kick it.
As stated none can tell you what rom will work best or be the most stable on your device and your set up. Even stock roms have bugs. It is just something you live with or dig in and try to fix when you own a smart phone.
Just pay attention to the OP of each thread and so the proper research and you will be fine.

JB keyboard for gingerbread?

Hey guys...so, I was recently given a glacier with a cracked screen that I repaired. I tried a couple JB Roman but unfortunately as of right now no one is really doing a lot of development for this old device just a bunch of ports with very little effort.toward bug fixes.
I decided to install the most supported rom I could find which turned out to be virtuous unity. Sense 3.0 android 2.3.4
I'm very happy with the rom. So far it is very fast and stable and does almost everything I want it to do.
My one major gripe is the keyboard. I got very used to the JB keyboard from a past phone of mine and nothing I've tried really matches up.
Is there some way I can install the JB keyboard on this old rom?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

They have jellybean and ICS keyboard in the play store. Plus gingerbread stock keyboard. Just a quick glance they have official evervolve and unofficial slimbeam both 4.3. Awesome did some amazing roms. To say there isn't much development I think is not fair. For such a phone to be so old and only one carrier(in the USA) and the carrier is the least popular of the four hoursmen I think says a lot

Little effort towards bug fixes? Are you kidding me? Devs like Elgin, coderzs and albinoman887 are ripping their hair out trying to fix some bugs. It's not very nice of you to say that's there's little effort involved. Try fixing them yourself and you'll find out why it's so hard.

Sorry about that, I didn't mean to insult anyone. Fro. What I could see it didn't seem like the roms that were being ported were getting a lot of attention after that. Coderz has been porting a ton of roms which I appreciate but I didn't think he was really focusing on making any of them daily driver stable.
The phone is super old and I'm just glad that anyone is doing anything with it at all.
Notori0us, I say that you're building a 4.3 and it looks like from your thread that you're planning on sticking with it and working the bugs out which I'm super pumped about.
Sorry to anyone that is working hard on making a stable newer rom for this old phone that I might have offended, I just haven't seen it yet and the threads I've read are suggesting using older roms.
And thanks for the info about the jellybean keyboard in the market, I had no idea it was that simple.

Also what bugs exactly are you talking about, you should tell the Devs about it and try to troubleshoot it.
