This is a bootanimation i made for myself, and would like to share with you guys.
I took the Xperia T Jelly Bean animation and replaced the Xperia logo with with the Galaxy S2 logo with added graphics.
Instructions:
MANUAL - WORKS ON ALL ROMS
1 Copy bootanimation.zip to /system/media/ and sett permissions 644 (rw/r/r)
-for EMBRYO users: copy to /data/local/ and set permissions.
2 Done!
Flash in CWM - Won't work with EMBRYO and won't be fixed.
1 Copy "Flashable.Samsung.Xperia.Bootanimation.zip" to your phone.
2 Boot to recovery.
3 Click install zip from sdcard,
3 Browse to "Flashable.Samsung.Xperia.Bootanimation.zip" and click yes.
4 Done!
For Samsung Jelly Bean roms:

Nice but how do I install this on embryo 7.
Put it in data/local, overwrite the Embryo's animation (or back it up), and set permissions as usual.

It's obvious if you look at the filenames, but i've now clarified it for you .
I just want to mention the /data/local method also works in CyanogenMod 10.1 (and presumably any ROM derived from it).

If you're on CyanogenMod 10.1 (or anything derived from it, e.g. ParanoidAndroid), you can place the bootanimation.zip inside /data/local instead of replacing the one in /system/media.
It will even persist between flashes.

Good Work Djsystem
Please tell me how can install?
ok tomorrow I put installation instructions. but it is easy to just replace the system / framework files
Sent from my GT-P1000L using Tapatalk
Does not work on tmo stock tab. Do not install. I have been careful and waiting patiently for a good rom or something new to install to my tab but i hastily copied over these files and now will be reflashing my device for the first time back to the stock firmware. Thank gawd for roto's stock tmo firmware. Just hope i don't fubar my first flash.
this is not a rom is only one theme and apps that I not installed. original must be changed by the following inside the folder system / framework must be root
Lovely, I have modified it to work on P1000JPJK2

Did i mention that I thought it was a ROM? Even if I did think it was a rom how in the hell would I go about flashing files like framework-res.apk? Cmon now. I know exactly what this is and i backed up all of these files in my system/framework folder >> copied over the new ones, matched permissions using root explorer, and rebooted. And it FAILED. So, my advice to T-Mo us tab owners is do not replace these files.
Ok

You copied the framework using root explorer? That's why you failed. Use adb, or roll it into an update.zip and flash it.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Right on. The OP mentioned just replacing the files. I tried this same thing once on my nokia n900 running nitdroid and essentially got the same result. I just assumed it wasn't compatible with stock tmo firmware and wanted to potentially save people some headache.
even if you adb if fail.
From the Galaxy S I know that framework files can be incompatible between different firmware versions. Sometimes, just sometimes a modded framework file of a particular firmware version will work on another one. But mostly not, and mostly it causes some severe booting problems.
I really advice to download this only if you have the exact same firmware version.
BTW Looks very nice OP!
Looks good.
Are you guys doing this on an odex'ed base or is P1000JPJK2 deodexed?

Hihi, can i request as change some picture? meaning remove all 00121.jpg onward with replace the attached picture?
you can do that yourself
open (do not unzip!) the bootanimation, go to the appropriate place where you want to start changing the pics, then replace them as you like, but be sure to STORE the pics with no compression or it won't work!
sanim.zip
I renamed the file to bootanimation.zip. It didnt work. Then i renamed it to sanim.zip and it works. Im on xxkpq
as has been discussed in other threads, it depends on what kernel you're using whether it's bootanimation.zip or sanim.zip. whichever you name it is dependent on what you see in the system media folder. I use bootanimation.zip because sanim.zip is a redirectional file pointing at bootanimation.zip and cannot be modified if I want bootanimation to work

good job
1st let me tell you what and all required for a custom bootanimation.
You must have a ROOTED device.
A root file manager such as ROOT EXPLORER
Custom bootanimation of your choice
15-20 minutes of time
and importantly PATIENCE
if you have all these then proceed to the next step
Download any of you favorite Bootanimation from here or from any other thread/site
How to add:
You need root and CWM Recovery.
If you need the stock bootanimation then make a back up of that using RootExplorer
Copy the bootanimation to your SD Card.
Rename to bootanimation.zip -If the zipfile has any other name plz rename it to "bootanimation.zip" , without quotes
With root explorer or any other app that allows you to get to /system/media
Copy the bootanimation .zip into /system/media and replace it with the stock one (remember to mount R/W)
And Finally set permissions to rw--r--r--
Should Look something like this
x x -
x - -
x - -
All Bootanimations are of 320x480 size , so will support TIPO and MIRO ,but in Xperia J they might look small because of higher res. screen

Can you help me fix this one (attached). (For Tipo).
If you want you can add it to ur list.
I tried to port it correctly, edited the file resolutions to 480x800 and the one in desc.txt to 320x480, yet they seem to be off-placed, I can't see them.
(It's JellyBean bootanimtion).

Permissions of most system app should be rw-r--r-- (0644), use RootExplorer, ES Explorer or any other explorer with root privilege..
The fixed permissions should be like this picture:

make a backup and flash it on recovery

Download for SYSTEM
Download for PRELOAD, this zip would create a symlink file for preload folder, only for TW roms
For Non-TW rom just extract LatinIME.apk file and push it to your app folder set permission to rw,r,r and reboot, just remember on Non-TW roms this mod is only availble for 4.2.2.
Credit: @cforlife for his mod, I made it working on other roms too.

Try extracting LatinIME.apk from the zip and copy it to system\app folder and overwrite it with current keyboard, fix permission to rw,r,r and then reboot, if got FC again extract libjni_latinime.so from the zip and push it to lib folder, root permission rw,r,r and reboot.
No update for this one you won't use Google keyboard 2.0
