Yes it should. I downgraded to ICS before upgrading- similar to OP, and it fixed the error on Z Fire.
Working well also on JBMP, thanks .
Baseband Unknown
And how to solve Baseband: Unknown...? Anyone?
does anyone knows if it works for xperia tipo (tapioca)?
i think for almost all xperia CM10 GSM errors it might work...
Any how the good news is that the new FXP223 CM10 has solved the GSM fix and you need not flash ICS just to make sure GSM is working...
Here is the changelog from FreeXperia site:
FXP223
- 3.4 kernel (J)
- GSM fix (J)
- Speaker in call (Tipo,Miro,J,E)
- Overclock (P,U,Sola,Go)

Yes, according to FXP project site with the recently released FXP223 you shouldn't need to install stock ICS anymore. I've the GSM error by myself and fixed it by the workaround. Didn't get the chance of updating to 223, but will do it this evening.
BTW: how can I update FXP without losing all my userdata, apps etc.?
Just now I updated FXP223 CM10 with Xperia J Jelly Bean Firmware (11.2.A.0.31) but still no GSM? How to fix it? -_-
I'm still experiencing the issue with FXP223. First updated from FXP222, then did a clean install even with stock ICS prior to it. Wiped cache/data etc., nothing fixed the issue. The boot logo looks totally weird with glitches and strange colors.

What's the workaround that you fixed your GSM by? Please tell me, I've updated to 223 and there's no fixes at all. And, if you already have FXP installed on your device, let's say FXP222 and want to upgrade, just do it. You won't lose anything, but just in case make a backup. The whole process of upgrading from FXP222 to FXP223 is very easy. Download FXP223, transfer to your SD Card or Internal, reboot your device to recovery, backup to ext_card or SD card just in case something goes wrong, after the backup is done, choose install zip, install from SD Card or ext_card depending on where you transferred the zip file and install it. Then reboot to system and you'll see a progress bar telling you about optimizing apps etc.
Thanks for the information about the update process! Appreciate that a lot.
FXP and a user here in the General board said that you have to install stock ICS firmware from Sony first, start it and finish the setup wizard at launch and then just turn off your device and start with flashing the FXP kernel and CM10. Afterwards wipe cache via recovery and reboot. This worked for me with FXP222. According to FXP this should be fixed with FXP223 but feel free to try it anyhow.
weird after flash 3.4 kernel , the "FreeXperia BOOTLOGO" seem like not clear. like glitch.
yes even i updated to fxp223 im not quite happy with It ! although im not having the GSM problem. hmm let us hear it from other users who have tried this update !

It seems that I cannot flash CM6 & CM7 on my phone. I tried everything but I always end with "installation from sd card aborted". I believe I followed every instructions but it's still fails. Am I missing something? I brought my phone in UAE.

Seems other roms worked for me but not CM6 (6.3.0, 6.3.7) & CM7 (7.1.2, 7.2.0 all updates)
Working roms on my mobile:[Already tried]
Dexter Froyo
Bravo
XDA Special
CronosX
Shenqi
MIUI
CM7 (CM7.1.0 & 7.1.1 only)
CM9 ICS
I like Cyanogen, specially they made all hardwares work almost perfect. Since the realeased of CM7.1.2 and CM7.2.0, I always failed to upgrade through this versions. I also tried previous released of CM6 but failed also.
Installation:
1. Flash SBF(UK, SG, Russia) using RSD Lite
2. Root Using Superone Click
3. Reboot phone.
4. Install Open Recovery
5. Put updates on sdcard/openrecovery/updates
6. Boot into open recovery
7. Wipe data/cache/dalvik
8. Apply updates: (rom itself, bootfix, gapps)
Applying ROM itself alone gave me a message of "SD CARD INSTALLATION ABORTED". I believe I followed the right instructions. Help about this matter will be highly appreciated. Thank you all.
What phone are you using ? I have no idea about CM7 but for CM6 (latest version CM 6.3.7) , you don't need a bootfix for milestone xt720 . And are you using the right OR (with mario android background ) here ? If you still blur , this video can be very helpful . Of course , you should download the latest rom , gapps , OR from the original rom thread and not from the link in the page given .
Thanks for the help guys. Know that your time was much appreciated. I think, I stick to CM9 ICS until further development. More power.
[Q] Is there any way to get GSM network to work on cyanogen based Alien rom, in xperia j?
I just rooted my Xperia J 4.1.2 (.31) yesterday and went ahead with AVD which supposed to be based on stock xperia rom. But unfortunately its was a bit buggy. SystemUI.apk suddenly stops working and many apps kept crashing on me .. few other roms like slim were asking to be downgraded to ICS which i dont want to... then came Alien rom to my rescue. this rom is really clean not to mention the Acid Audio ENgine and stuff ...T____T I so badly want to keep this rom its ****ing perfect..!!! if only if the GSM would work, which while installing i didn't know that no cyanogenmod 10 based rom has GSM support !
Now i'm whining here because i just want someone more knowledgeable than me to give me the confirmation that that i have absolutely no other choice, other than going back to the AVD. LIke the GSM fix for the ICS baseband is there positively NOTHING out there for JB :crying:
You need to downgrade to ics first, then flash any cm10 based rom, or gsm.will not work.

getting out of alien rom and reinstalling AVD i screwd up and soft bricked my phone.
SO i had to use a pc to reflash the stock JB. BUt that has locked the bootloader again coz the PC companion can detect my phone again.
so just need to confirm certain things...
SO if i flash stock ICS then i will have to unlock my bootloader again right...? I presume i will have to root my phone too all over again... ? before installing the rom ?
PLease HELP!!!
Ok this is sooo irritating...!!! T____T
I flashed my phone with 4.0.4 ICS, st26i_11.0.a.3.18_global.ftf form Matej X's 4shared folder.
http://www.4shared.com/folder/25Mb7Dws/Xperia_J.html
the ST26i_11.0.A.7.5_CE.ftf from that folder when put into firmwares folder of flashtools, doesn't even show up !!!
i figured to root st26i_11.0.a.3.18_global.ftf from this guide http://http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2033114&highlight=st26i+root+ics
but not inspite of downgrading to ics, when i installed MIUI5 rom i'm i'm getting no simcard ad hense GSM is not working all manually scanned networks are shown as "UNKNOWN" !
Now i have flashed back to stock ICS rom...
when i flast the stock rom using flashtool the simlock.ta file gets ignored. what's up with that, wherever i have read about its not supposed to be a issue...
Can someone help me this is really getting frustrating....
Can some one help me find the link for ST26i_11.0.A.7.5_CE.ftf ICS stock rom which will be detected by flashtool...
MIUI5 was really nice, I would like to use it. Its based on cyanogenmod10 fxp 226 ... My issue with that is i use the instruction here to install it, but its condusing.
https://sites.google.com/site/projectfreexperia/download/howto-install
It says "6.Wipe device
from cm9 device wipe is necessary only at first flash or when you switch cm version
!!! if after boot you experience ForceClose then is recomended to reboot to recovery and wipe device
7.Partition format
is not recomended to format your partitions unless you are advised to do otherwise"
Now in CWM what do i have to wipe...???
There are too many options to wipe....
1. wipe data/factory rest
2. wipe catch partition
Under advanced
Wipe delvic catch ...
Which and all am i supposed to wipe ?
Please bare with me guys i'm at my witt's end here...T____T
I just want one CM 10 based rom working for me... That's all ...
Here's the thing mate, AlienRom works perfectly fine for me. Just flash over stock ICS and Not JB and select Use 2G network on settings. Give it another try , oh and I highly discourage MIUI, it may look pretty but it is lag as hell. Browser takes sooo long to load and so lag

Hey Racer X,
I was thinking about the same thing... Alien rom is the only rom where i encoutered absolutely "0" lag, Brilliant work there man thanks a lot.
Would it be possible to flash it directly on rooted 11.0.a.3.18 ICS because i'm not able to root ST26i_11.0.A.7.5_CE.ftf with any tutorial here...
SO far i have tried this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2071817
and the other option being flashing to stock 11.0.A.7.5 and using Unlockroot.exe
But windows won't even detect the exe file and Google chrome's calling it a malicious file and won't let me download it .
SO i have sort of hit a roadblock with 11.0.a.7.5
So i was hoping i can flash alien rom straight on rooted 11.0.a.3.18 ICS, which i rooted with this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2033114&highlight=st26i+root+ics
Omg...!!! I did it ... :d
OMG... I just went ahead and did it... this is sooo f****** AWWWWSOME...!!!
Now i have Alien rom with GSM WORKING !!!:good:
I didn't even go for 7.5 i just stuck with .18 and went to alien rom 4.1.2
BTW can i keep the cyanogenmod upates setting to weekly or should i keep it at manual/???
I don't want to loose the gms connection just coz it updated on its own ... ?
What do you think ?
Hi.I have recently bought a Xperia E Dual, and, as I enjoy customization and efficiency, I have been trying to install custom roms on it. I really wanted the CM10 jjm34's or hsr0's ROMs, but it seems that I am a unlucky person. Every CM10 based ROM I try gives me the same problem: the deadly GSM bug. Here is what happens:
- I flash the stock rom with the right firmware (11.3.A.2.1)
- Flash a recovery (usually the one that comes with the ROM, have tried already
- Boot to recovery, wipe data and cache, flash zip from sd.
Alright, it works. But for the five times I tried, the deadly network bug comes, usually 1h-1day after the installation.
Here is what I get:
- Blank IMEI
- Can't select any subscription at SIM selection
- Network Unkown
- Can't make any call/send messages/connect to E/2g/3g/etc
The first time it happened, was just random. Simply stopped working. The second time was when I was accepting a call. The other ones happened just like those 2.
I can't seem to find a solution to it. I see some people with the same problem, but no one has the actual answer. Some say to wipe cache/data, wipe dalvik cache, reflash the ROM and etc, but the only way it really works for me is to flash the stock rom again and start over. I can't keep with this.
Do you guys think it's a kernel problem? Can you think of anything I could try? Please?
I'm asking for your help.
Thank you.
You can try to flash 11.3.A.2.23 (SS firmware) instead of 11.3.A.2.1 at the very first step.
I dunno if it'll work or not, since I don't own a Dual, but its worth a shot.
(It rid me if the network bug)

Which game u playing when this happened?
There is no overclocking in the rom so heating should not be there.
One important thing is
ur phone came with JB isnt it.
Did u flashed stock KK on it or just flashed philz and flash the rom.
Heating issue may occurs in this case.

I dont have S005 version sptool flashable.
But it can be done as u already did which cost u the issue.
My suggestion is if possible please check ur handset with customer care if it is there near ur location & within warranty.
But keep in mind xolo cc reputation is not that good, they keep handset for longer period with them.
If a particular rom not causing the heat issue better u use that rom.

Thanks for the reply. There's nothing currently for Xolo q3000 on their website. It would seem they silently dropped support for the device. Anyway I found s007 KK elsewhere and that's what I flashed. I guess that's the disadvantage of using phones from little known brands
Hi,
FIrstly I'd like to say I'm not noob. So please dont treat me like one and tell me to search the forum. I've already did it many times.
Secondly, I've tried MANY Roms. Like a lot. But all I want is something very stable. So I decided to use Stock.
I've tried these ROMs and some more I cant remember:
CM11
CM12
Honami
DextroDroid (wifi worked very well here.. just hated the nav bar and icon size. Coudn't live with it hahaha)
Clean 'n' Tweaked
Matrix
LiquidSmooth
Carbon
PAC-Man
And ALL Stock versions
Sometimes the wifi works after I reflash stock. But then I decide to do something else and the phone gets int oa bootloop and I have to reflash. Then the wifi is messed up again =(
Now I'm testing Kernels.
ThunderZap 4.1 and Extended Stock v6 are the best bets.
I would like to know if you guys have been through this too.
How to make the wifi work again and avoid bootloops?
I'm almost buying a new phone. I'm spending too many hours trying to fix Xperia L.
Ok, now the wifi doesn't work at all.
I've reflashed the stock roms in this order:
15.0.A.2.17
15.3.A.0.26
15.3.A.1.14
Wifi didn't work in any of them.
Flashed Extended Stock Kernel v6. Still no wifi.
Don't know what to do =(
Tried DextroDroid, now.
Didn't work either.
Don't know what to do anymore =(

Hi,
First flash stock ftf 15.3.A.1.14 stock firmware.
After that flash latest Thunderzap kernel and then flash LS milestone.
I never faced wifi issue with LS or CM11.
But only flash CM11 or LS on 1.14 fw not previous versions.

By latest TZ you mean 4.10 or 4.1 for JB ?
Tried with TZ 4.10
Didn't work..
I'm lost
Could make it work skipping the TZ step!
It was working perfectly!!
But then the phone suddenly rebooted and the wifi is not working anymore.
Bluetooth not working either.
I guess it's not a modules problem. Unless there are more people with the same problem.
Where can I find the wifi files in the internal memory? Can they be read ? I'll try changing them manually.
I mean... The same problem happens in every ROM.
Possibly with every Kernel.. Not sure.
What to do now?
Now I've tested:
ThunderZap 4.10
Phantom v17 for KK
None fixed the wifi =/
And yes.. I've wiped cache and Dalvik cache before flashing them.
Holy!!
I think it's hardware problem!!
I'll update you guys later.
Edit:
SOLVED
The hardware was a bit loose. I dissabled it, cleaned and put the screws very very tight.
Everything working =)
