I am facing the same problem after upgrading to 2.3.6
Please let me know what settings you had to change in your router?
Well, i haven't used 3g till now, and today activated it, only to find that it doesnt work.
DDKP3
BCK Kernel Beta 13
Deodexed
No other mods.
Network mode is automatic
When i select WCDMA only. The phone is not able to connect to the network.
And on automatic, the phone stays on EDGE only
Anyone insights on it?
Had read Argentine people having 3g problems long ago. Anyone from there can help?
Also had read somewhere that it might be a CSC problem. I checked using *#1234# to see if CSC is unknown, but its proper.
More info from further posts and replies -
Service provider is Vodafone India.
Confirmed that its a phone problem, by using the SIM in another phone [SE Xperia Arc], and it worked on it.
SOLUTION -
Well, I had removed the sim to try it on another phone, and well on putting it back in the phone, it worked!
I actually feel like a noob after this!
Anyway, thanks everyone for trying to help!
I'm using 3g.... its working great!!! What service do you use? Also are u sure you have subscribed to 3G services... sometimes it takes a while to get activated.

Yea, obviously it isn't a general problem faced by all.
I guess, someone who's faced such a problem only might be able to help.
Had read alot of people having such issues, but now searching isn't giving quite the required results.
If you can, try your SIM card into another smartphone which is confirmed working with 3G, just to be sure the problem comes from your phone.

I'm not aware of any problem with stock wifi, what problem are you having? Give me some details.
And no, XDA is not all about custom ROMs. It should be your best source for help with any device. Supposedly experts reside here, though we do have our share of snobs too.

As far as I know and have experienced with Samsung, their products at times have issues with other Router Manufacturer because of the drivers they use. It is more logical to try your device on other wifi access such as hotspots. If you got access without any issues at all, then you need to change your router. I did changed my router. Now I have no problem at all.

This is a ridiculous assumption. Samsung does not even make the wifi chip in the tablet or any routers.
Provide details of your issue.
Android has has some issues with some routers that set their lease expatriation to infinite which is fairly common but actually invalid if you go strictly by the standards.

I didnt mean that tweaks and custom kernels shouldn't be here..i just answered direct about OP question...don't be so mean lol
Ontopic: OP wait for JB update so hopefully Samsung will fix WiFi..
If you don't want to root, create a desktop shortcut to the servicemode app for the "WiFi Debug Screen" activity. Then launch it and turn off 'WiFi Power Save Mode'. Note that after every reboot you will have to turn it off again. I found this fix for my Galaxy S3, but noticed it also works on my Samsung tablets too. Seems to keep them connected all the time now.

I think not , since we rarely see this reported and most people have wifi working just fine with the stock firmware. But since the OP doesn't give us any information , not even what version ROM he is using, I can;t help.
I've got ICS stock rom installed in my P6201 and I am having some minor problems with wifi. Sometines wifi does not autmatically connects to my home or office wifi, I just turn off wifi and turn on again and it connects with no more issues. Sometimes wifi says it is saved and connected but tab is not really connected, so I must turn wifi off and on again to stablish conection. When in HC I had no problems with my wifi.

Hello,
After successfully installing Android 4.4.2 KitKat SlimKat Custom ROM my phone is not able to connect to my network's provider internet.
Wi-Fi works without any problems. Device sees the network but cannot register. Is not able to obtain IP address.
I am using Wind Mobile service in Canada.
Before installing Android 4.4.2 internet worked fine.
Any idea what should I do?
Thanks in advance,

I had an issue similar to this when I first went backwards from Jellybean.. There were a couple codes I had to "dial" , but they may be provider specific?.. I am on Free ( a French network).. I will try to remember, as right now I can't think of what they are, but google it in the mean time..
Problem has been solved.
I had to change the APN protocol from ipv4/ipv6 to ipv4 and now all works great.
Thank you for your help,
