Root And CW question?

I followed all the steps to root my Nexus S
Super User is installed
I can I tell if my phone is Rooted correctly?
I can not get rom manager or Set CPU to work both say they can not get super user permissions
Last question
How do I boot into CW from my nexus S?
I flashed it threw comand prompt on the computer and was able to use CW to unzip superuser but after I reboot the phone I cant seem to access CW unless I reflash it.
Any ideas?
THanks
Yeah I have the same issue but with Titanium Backup. When I launch it I get the popup saying it was granted superuser permissions but when I actually try to use it it says ROO access --> FAILED

Click to collapse
Try installing busybox from within titanium backup by hitting the problems button.
That did the trick! Thank you so much!

[Q] Howto remove twitter, facebook and other bloatware

Hello,
I flashed to leedroid 1.3 and i use Titanium backup to remove it like they wrote on the Forum, but it doesn't remove them.
It gets rebooted and then hangs with black screen and android warning picture.
I need to remove the battery to restart the phone.
Any other ideas to remove twitter/facebook/Peep and other social media apps.
THNX for your knowledge input.
you can also manualy remove the apps by deleting them (or renaming their extention e.g. .apk -> apkx) with a root explorer, for example 'root explorer' or 'ES File Explorer' in the /system/app folder.
I can remove it, but it returns after reboot + on "pm uninstall com.twitter.android" I get "Failed"
You need to root your phone first. Visit the forum section dedicated to your phone, read a bit, read a bit more, root it, then wipe that bloatware off.
@Captkiwi just download z4root it works with 99% of phones-use it and buy rootexplorer, open it, go to system/app, click mount r/w and delete bloatware Good luck
Making phone to be S-OFF is crucial. This thread helped me S-OFFing it properly (made bootable USB with unetbootin), and now this procedure works... Previously it didn't while the phone was still S-ON.
Hope this helps people, been struggling with my phone for a month now... Finally it seems I control my hardware
Make sure USB Debugging is on
Install z4root by downloading the apk and allowing non-market apps. Find it on sd card and install with longpress or something.
After you root, install titanium backup free version.
You can use this to backup and then uninstall all the bloat you want.
Sent from my M860 using XDA App
Ok - looks like there are 2 main options
1) Install Titanium backup and delete bloatware from there (Rooted Phone)
..........This option doesn't appear to work all the time - is it because the bloatware doesn't show up or because its listed with and unusual name like---- SNS 1.0 -- that twitter hides behind?
2) Use "a" file explorer on a rooted phone and go to---- system/app ---and find the apps and delete them ....nope still cant find the bloatware....
.........try another folder ..... /data/app/ ....still nothing
Anyone got any more ideas?
I'm working on an ideos X5

Karbonn A21 - Everything About Root & Recovery

Hello frdz
First Step to get full access of your phone is "Root".Why??
1.) To remove unwanted pre installed apps.
2.) To increase your System Space & free up some Ram.
3.) To move all your apps to SD.
4.) To install CWM Recovery.
5.) With CWM recovery You can install(flash) Different Roms and backup Your Stock Rom.
So here is the app to root your phone without PC.

You can go to this thread for more info about this app.
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130276
After rooting The first App you should install is Titanium Backup Pro.
Before Uninstalling Any System app you should make a backup for it in Titanium Backup Pro.
In case if you remove a very important app of Android Os u can restore it suddenly with this app.
2nd Most Important App For Rooted Devices is CWM Recovery.
To download it go to this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2440320
Aldo read carefully in first thread how to install it.
After Installing CWM zip file...you should backup your stock rom first.
If ur phone got bricked u can restore it with CWM recovery any time.
I bricked my mobile with chainfire 3d app.
So suggest u all to not install this app.
And always keep a backup of your stock rom.
Framaroot 1.6.1 does not work in Karbonn A21+

Before you flash CWM Recovery You should Do This To return to your stock recovery

Hey Guys before any Thing This Method Requires Root And who fear from root beacuse it void your warranty Dont worry about it unrooting will make it as nothing happened
Lets Start :good:
Our thread will talk about Recovery And There's A Few Threads That Talk About It
If you wanted to flash an CWM Custom Recovery But You Wanted To Go Back To Your Stock Recovery for any reason There is An Easy Way To Do It
There is An APP In Play Store Named "Rashr" This App only requires Root Access To Backup Your Current Recovery And Your Kernel
First Time you open the App It Will Ask You About Giving it the root access After Granting It will ask You You about the name you prefer on your backup image of kernel and then it will ask you about the name that you prefer on your backup image of recovery Then it Will Save It In Your SD Or In Your Internal (it depends on your phone or Your tablet ) An I Folder Named Rashr
Copy This Folder In Your Pc (Recommended) Or On Any Safe Storage Media
App Also Flash CWM Or Any Type Of Img That It Is An Custom Kernel Or A Recovery Without Changing Your Downloading Counter By Putting The Img In Your sd or dowloading it from your device directly and choosing the file From your files manager (my files) The Program Will Ask You If Its A Recovery Or A Kernel (You Must Choose the right type or you might get Problems in Device And I Am In That Case Not Responsible For What You Did) And Click Go And It Will Flash It like Light speed And Then Enjoy
And To Reset The Flasing Counter (Downloading Mode Counter ) Use "Triangle away " There is an Paid version in play Store If You could buy It And If You Couldnt there is a free version By The Same Devolper in xda : http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/orig-development/2014-01-15-triangleaway-v3-26-t1494114
I Would Be very Happy If You Liked This Thread (The First Thread) And An Thank You Would Be Enough And Put Your Reply ,ASk Me I Will Always Be There

Alcatel One Touch Fierce 2 Getting Stock Rom

II have a rooted Fierce 2.
I ended up removing some system apps that caused my phone to not function properly. I got frustrated and in my stupidity i copied some of my /System files from a backup to my /system on my phone with Root Browser.
Well that cooked my phone. It wont boot now. Only boots to Alcatel screen or to Recovery.
I can still acquire ADB Connection and run usual ADB Commands.
I cannot Start ADB Shell.
I can download Update.ZIP using ADB Sideload.
Immediately after i Rooted with Kingroot
I switched to SUPERSU. Using KingUser to Supersu scripts i found in another thread.
This worked great and i also moved SUPERSU to a system app with System App Mover. I rebooted into recovery a few times and did system restore to put back stock rom. It kept ROOT every time.
Fortunately I made a CWM backup using online NANDROID Backup.
I also made a Update.Zip using Kitchen.
But cant load it with recovery cause signature fails.
Someone Please find a Phone thats not updated yet.
Download the OTA Update and dont install it.
Copy it and upload so we can load to fix our phones.
Dose anyone know somewhere to get a copy of the OTA update.zip
Stock rom
I have the stock rom of this device but can´t publish the link because i´m a new user
