[Q] I9003 - Downgrade from ICS CM9 to Gingerbread - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Hi all,
I have currently installed ICS CM9 (Dhiru) on my SL i9003. There are a few issues ( tethering, Camera) which make me think of returning back to Gingerbread.
Can someone suggest me what I should do to safely come back to GB ? If possible pls give suggestions on the best ROMs to use ?

Why back to GB! Why not upgrade to JB of loSco's qwerty rom or Xgamers rom of Lolation?? These r good enough for daily usage..

I want to downgrade to gingerbread too, for app development purpose. As far as I know the android gingerbread emulator won't support gle20 and google play services, so I have to test it on a physical gingerbread.

agree there are great ROMs available for i9003. but if u still want to go to 2.3.6 , follow the

[Q] can anybody find it for me???

hey guys i know there are many ics custom roms flying around, but i like to have a flshable zip/ruu of original stock ics. where can i find one? or any body got one? no problem if itz a beta/leaked rom. pls help.
there is NO stock ICS yet
all these ICS are complied and based on AOSP
you could say that , all these AOSP ICS are beta/leaked ICS ROM.

Is currently probably the closest you'll get to stock ics.
You can also try Koush: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356228
Which is meant to be the beginning of CyanogenMod 9
They are both currently still in the testing phase and function similarly

Some Important Questions I want to ask about Upgrading

I have i9003 with Froyo 2.2.1 that i want to upgrade to gingerbread.
Q1. Which version of gingerbread is less buggy 2.3.4 or 2.3.6 because i saw threads that XXKPQ 2.3.6 has camera bugs?
Q2. I downloaded XXKPQ from here is it ok and will i be able to upgrade future updates from Kies and can i root it?
Q3. If iam installing custom ROM or kernels that are available here on XDA will i be able to upgrade future updates from Kies?
Q4. Can i downgrade my firmware to 2.2.1 if i dont like the gingerbread or having some problems with it?
Q5. Will my applications move if i upgrade?
I will be thankful to you guys if you can help me in this

Hey bro pls search the forum before posting new threads
And ive used xxkpq and had no probs...and since it has most mods and themes id recommend you to go with it...
First you will have to flash xxkpe ONLY then fladh xxkpq or your phone will bootloop..
Yes you will b able to get update from kies
Yes you can root xxkpq
If you install custom roms and kernels you will not b able to upgrade via kies but you can always revert to stock xxkpq and upgrade
Yes you can always downgrade to 2.2.1
Yes you will lose all your data including contancts msgs and applications so make a backup of your contacts
And pls next time search the forum as all these questions have been answered

I can also said that kpq has no bugs at all when it comes to camera!
Lucasred, XXKPQ camera has no bugs but the problem is its video recording. Dark video recording, Brightness/Contrast has no effect on recording whatsoever. Video recording indoor is worst compare to XXKPE
I think the Video recording thing has to do with the settings or might be due to the auto brightness compensation algorithm for the stock camera app.

Rom Help

i just got a Virgin mobile LG Optimus V from a friend and i don't really want it as a phone, i would really like it as a iPod sort of thing and i'm new to rooting and flashing roms so i need help with it. i have already rooted it using gingerbreak and i would like either a 2.3 or 4.0 rom . (not really digging android 2.2) whenever i look at the forum for a rom on here the links are always broken so can someone help me maby walk me through flashing a rom and which is the best? another question. if i install a rom with either 2.3 or 4.0, will i be able to use apps that require 2.3 or 4.0?
the play market docent have alot of selection for froyo 2.2.
For flashing rom just google it
for a good rom try gingersnap by neko95
apps frm 2.3 will work as o1 is upgradable to 2.3.1 but apps for 4.0 will not work
Press THANKS IF I HELPED
You can try LeWaOS by me.. link is in the description
Ics roms have some bug's so let's try gingerbread based roms they are good.

[Q] Can I flash Samsung Galaxy R with stock Android 4.1.2 as on SGS2 ?

I want to know if I can flash Samsung Galaxy R with stock Android 4.1.2 ROM as on SGS2. I want to buy this Smartphone and I'm curious about this thing. If it is not possible, then you can show me some custom ROMs ( good ones ) that don't have battery issues ( my phone is discharging quickly ). Regards !

If you flash S2 ROM on this mobile you will brick your device...
Just go to Dev forum you can find different Roms based on 4.2.2... If you want battery then use ICS OR GB Roms..

[Q] How to Root Samsung Galaxy S 4G and Install Jelly Bean 4.3 (CyanoGenMod)

Hi Guys,
I am an IT person, but totally new to Android. I am having Samsung Galaxy S 4G (T959v) running GingerBread (2.3.6).
I had upgraded from Froyo to GingerBread using Kies mini... and since that I am facing a lot of issues running... like slow responsiveness, phone hangs, some times unable to make calls, very high RAM usage etc...
So to fix these issues, I am thinking to install custom ROM (Jelly Bean 4.3 - CyanogenMod 10.2). But I don't know how to do that.
What I read on thread is it first needs to ROOT the device, but I am not sure how to ROOT the device.
Please help me to ROOT the device in easy steps and install custom ROM.. (Off course without bricking my device )
Thanks.
Look at the second link in my signature. Instead of flashing the whole package just flash AntonX's kernel. Read the first couple of posts in the Heimdal thread and you will hopefully know what I am referring to.
From there, follow the directions in the OP of the ROM thread that you would like to flash. The OP will also tell you what works and does not work for that ROM.
I would suggest making a backup copy of your efs folder for the just in case..
