Hello,
am new in these wanderings, and recently I have upgraded my galaxy s3 LTE (ROM, CFW, Kernel and ROOT).
I have the following doubts:
-Installed "[rXTREME.v9.0] (stable, smooth & fast))", currently the mobile phone does not have 4G when I try to communicate. (This area has 4G and it enjoyed once had and now only 3G and H +, H)
What should I do to get back in 4G?
My counter to install a CFW and ROM did not change the counter remains in the normal state, this is normal?
greetings and thanks
* sorry if there are any errors, I am using google translate,'m portuges. thank you

So if you were stock and it said 4G it was really hspa+. Unless it said LTE then it was just H+. AT&T always puts the 4G logo on there too try and look cool

Hello,
but when it was all over had STOCK LTE, ie the symbol was and 4G speeds could dw 50MB / 20MB up. Currently we do not get any of these speeds due to not bind 4G, only 3G, H and H +.
What could it be?

Hi, I'm new to android and I recently signed up with Mobilicity for a Nexus S 4G.
I've figured out how to root my phone but for some reasons every custom rom I tried is not picking up any signals at all. (except WIFI)
So I am starting to think that it might be the type of signal (UMTS) that Mobilicity offers that doesnt work with custom roms?
Correct me if I'm wrong, and please help me with solutions, Thanks!

Mobilicity is a GSM carrier. Do you actually have a Nexus S 4G (a CDMA device) or have you been flashing Nexus S 4G Roms onto your device (in which case you are flashing a rom/radio for a CDMA device onto a GSM device)?

hmm, on the box it saids Nexus S but when I try flashing Miui for Nexus S, it wouldn't work unless I'm using the 4G version so i assumed that my phone is 4G.
And the phone status says that my "Mobile network type" is UMTS.

If you got it from Mobilicity it's the GSM version (AWS frequency, i9020 or i9020T by model number).
If you've flashed a radio for the NS4G (a CDMA device) or the i9020a this is going to break things.
What radio are you currently running? If you can't get service flash back to a stock i9020t ROM and see what you get. You can grab a full stock ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1063664
that's exaclty what's happening to me, i got a nexus said to be a I9020A (under de battery), and on the manual says it's the nexus s 4g. the problem is (the same as darkkame) that the type of signal, in the settings says it's UMTS, so is neither CDMA nor GSM i think.
i live in chile, south america, and that's the problem i'm having with custom roms, particulary with the ice cream sandwich one, it only let me flash the nexus s 4g version of the rom but not the 3g one and i have everything working except the cell reception and 3g signal.
sorry for the poor redaction xD

thanks for the clarification, then my nexus isn't really the 4g version (despite what it says on the manual), but for some reason the ice cream sandwich rom acknowledge my device as a CDMA when it isn't so it won't le me flash the nexus 3g version of the rom (brings "installation cancelled" on the recovery), only the 4g optimized rom, but that's when i get no cellular reception nor 3g.
just have to wait for the official ics release then
Redownload the GSM version and verify the MD5. Installation Canceled usually means its a bad zip or the updater-script is jacked.
Sent from my Bionix on the Nexus S using XDA App
i found the problem, because i mistakenly thought my nexus was a 4g version ('cause that's what it says on the manual), i followed the rooting and clockmodwork installing procedure for the nexus s 4g variant, now i reverted the procedure, but this time for the 3g version of the phone and voilá i can now install the ice cream sandwich rom and have the cellular reception
maybe this solution applies for the author of this thread too
Can you provide a link to the rom you installed?
I recently bought an S3 SCH-I535 Verizon (CDMA) and I managed to run with Phone release Info.apk GSM Global Network a line, what I have now with ICS 4.0.4 and from there I could not update to JB via CWM, there is some JB custom rom or kernel that has the same option to change the overall network? either via Odin or CWM, I tried several and with no option appears. In advance thank you very much![/SIZE] excuse my English:good:

Im actually running 4.1.1 with all the mods for GSM and is working, the data speed can't be faster than Edge (E) simple because the Bands are different from LA, the S3 from verizon only have 2100 so we are out f luck for more speed.
But yes even with the stock ROM you can re install everything to make GSM work again.

Hi Everyone,
I'm using a Samsung Galaxsy S3 LTE i9305 and it has been working flawlessly in Australia on a stock and custom ROM.
I'm currently travelling in the US and I have purchased a T-Mobile prepaid SIM. After inserting the new SIM I have been able to get a edge network connection and making phone calls works fine. However, ive only been able to get a Edge data connection, no 2G, 3G or 4G. This occurs in all locations, I have been in 4 major cities and it is the same.
I called T-Mobile and we checked all the settings. They were unable to find anything wrong and escalated my issue to the 3rd level team. I'm waiting to hear from them. In the mean time I have tried the following wihout succes. The phone is running cyogenmod 10.2 Nightly, I upgraded this to the latest 11.x Nightly and the result was no network connection at all. Furthermore after the upgrade I was not able to enter any APN settings, it was as if no SIM was insirted. Next I tried downgrading to Cyogenmod 10.1 Stable release and the result was the same. Finally I tried installing Paranoid Android 3.99 RC1 and again same result, no network at all.
Im running out of ideas. My next move is to try a stock rom but I hope I can avoid it because it is a large download and I have no access to a computer. What do you guys think could be causing it?

What is your radio version ? Is yours International version ?
Hi all, I installed the nexus experience in my moto maxx XT1225 BR but the 4G signal went dead, 3G and 2G is working perfect and also everything else.
I did a full backup (just in case from the 5.02p) before and the 4G is working fine if I go back but the battery drain is just epic, with the original rom it last 8 hours and with the nexus experience 1,5 day.
Is there any way to extract the radio from a TPRW backup? Because I tried all the radios listed in here but can't get to work the 4G on custom rom
Thank you in advance to all.

You tried the radios listed in the CM12.1 thread, post #1?
same problem here, after installing CM 12.1 nightly and the new baseband, my 4G LTE stopped working. before when i was on cyanogen + 5.0.2 baseband, LTE was working fine except for GPS .

Hey folks! Wrong forum for this device, but the Galaxy Avant seems to be too obscure to have a forum even in this category, and I think I heard somewhere the Core is similar. Total shot in the dark, but can anybody hook me up with a stock ROM for the Avant (G386T)? I'm on T-Mobile and they're shutting down the 3G network this summer. I'm still using my Avant with a custom ROM (oops, no backup), which means no VoLTE, so I guess calling and texting are going to break/degrade when the shutdown happens.
I'm fine with taking this opportunity to upgrade to a new device, but this phone has been going strong for 8 years and I kinda want to see how long it can last. Stock seems to be the way to go, and T-Mobile and Samsung can't help me.

did it work?
Hey, thanks for the link! I downloaded the file but I'm still figuring out how to flash the data. Will post an update later.
By the way, Galaxy Avant has a Snapdragon 400 chipset and it supports 4G.sooo you dont have to worry about internet and calls.
Oh, are you saying that even with my CyanogenMod ROM I should be able to call over 4G? I do know that 4G data is working on the current system but it was my understanding that to call on 4G required VoLTE. Am I wrong there? That would be great news.
