Im actually running 4.1.1 with all the mods for GSM and is working, the data speed can't be faster than Edge (E) simple because the Bands are different from LA, the S3 from verizon only have 2100 so we are out f luck for more speed.
But yes even with the stock ROM you can re install everything to make GSM work again.

Video tutorial: Root + load recovery + install ICS ROM (Rogers and AT&T)

Hey all, I've created three video tutorials on how to mod the Galaxy S2 LTE (Rogers i727r) and the Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (AT&T i727) which include:
-How to root the phone (Rogers version only, I can't confirm if this works for AT&T users, sorry)
-How to load Touch Recovery (AT&T and Rogers version)
-How to load the stock AT&T Ice Cream Sandwich ROM (AT&T and Rogers version). If you want to see what the ROM looks like and how it behaves click here.
All necessary links can be found in the description of each YouTube video. Warning: By following these videos you are attempting to mod your device and should something go wrong you could permanently damage it and void the warranty. I take no responsibility should your device get damaged, do so at your own risk, happy modding.
How to Root the Galaxy S2 LTE (Rogers version only)
How to install Touch Recovery (confirmed to work on the AT&T and Rogers version)
How to install the stock AT&T ICS ROM (confirmed to work on the AT&T and Rogers version)

Thank you, very helpful vids. They answered a lot of small questions I had which always get overlooked in written guides.
Unfortunately, I've loaded the ROM you recommended and it works however I find my edge/LTE signal drops frequently and my callerid doesn't work... I'm going to try for a Rogers OEM version of the ICS rom instead of this AT&T version.

It's most likely a problem caused with the APN settings since the ROM has worked well for other Rogers users. Of course the most important thing is to make sure your phone signal works great, I get HSPA signal fine (since I don't have an LTE plan), but other Rogers users besides me added LTE settings in the APN menu, seems to work for them.
The caller ID issue has never happened to me (I'm also on Rogers), very odd, well it's better to have it working if it means using the stock Rogers ROM.

[Q] i727 on T-Mobile with Edge

Hey all,
I've been using my i727 Skyrocket unlocked on T-Mobile. But it has always been on Edge network for me. I read that this phone does not support T-Mobile band 1700/2100 so that's why it cannot have 3G/4G. Anyone in the same boat as me whose figured out how to get it working? Perhaps with a radio flash?
Thank you for reading!

It will depend on if you have an ICS or GB rom running currently. I have the I727 CM9 (ICS) unlocked/rooted on TMO too, and was able to finally get off edge running the Tmo_SGH-T879-UVLG3_radio.zip. Get 3G most of the time, and occasional HDSPA.
Make sure you have the stock radio before you do anything and make a back-up to be safe. Move the file to your sd card and load via CWM recovery.
If you are on a GB version I cannot help you, sorry.
Best of luck.

I'm currently working on getting Sky-ICS on my phone. After I successfully put it in, I will try the radio you mentioned. Gotta look for
That radio to download first
Thanks a lot for your help!

So if you were stock and it said 4G it was really hspa+. Unless it said LTE then it was just H+. AT&T always puts the 4G logo on there too try and look cool
Sent from my CLEAN Note ll

[Q] Samsung Note 2 / Vodafone LTE issue on custom ROM

Hi,
First time posting, long time reading.
Having issues getting LTE/4G access on my Samsung Note 2 on the Vodafone network in Australia. I am currently running Hashchcek v2.5 ROM on 4.1.2, have a baseband of N7105TDVALK2 and using saberkernel.
According to Vodafone the baseband version N7105TDVDMB2 should have been pushed out with their update to 4.1.2 to allow LTE access.
Does anyone know how I go about getting this latest baseband or getting LTE as a network mode option?
Do I need to obtain the latest CSC/modem and flash with that? If so does anyone know where I can get this from? I have had a good look around and can only find the old Vodafone CSC which I am currently using. Can I just use the Telstra Baseband?
Or am I way off and someone can point me in the right direction?
Thanks
Tried this

Installed the following and so far so good. Not in a 4G area ATM but will update once I have done some more testing. So far the 3G speed tests are noticeably better.

[Q] S3 i9305 Limited / No Network Connect - Please Help

Hi Everyone,
I'm using a Samsung Galaxsy S3 LTE i9305 and it has been working flawlessly in Australia on a stock and custom ROM.
I'm currently travelling in the US and I have purchased a T-Mobile prepaid SIM. After inserting the new SIM I have been able to get a edge network connection and making phone calls works fine. However, ive only been able to get a Edge data connection, no 2G, 3G or 4G. This occurs in all locations, I have been in 4 major cities and it is the same.
I called T-Mobile and we checked all the settings. They were unable to find anything wrong and escalated my issue to the 3rd level team. I'm waiting to hear from them. In the mean time I have tried the following wihout succes. The phone is running cyogenmod 10.2 Nightly, I upgraded this to the latest 11.x Nightly and the result was no network connection at all. Furthermore after the upgrade I was not able to enter any APN settings, it was as if no SIM was insirted. Next I tried downgrading to Cyogenmod 10.1 Stable release and the result was the same. Finally I tried installing Paranoid Android 3.99 RC1 and again same result, no network at all.
Im running out of ideas. My next move is to try a stock rom but I hope I can avoid it because it is a large download and I have no access to a computer. What do you guys think could be causing it?
